Once back to Knoxville, we settled into one of the hotels conference
rooms and started to plan the future.
The real estate agent explained that the present owner wanted to close
the deal as quick as possible due to the death of his brother.  I called
my banker and had a certified check for $1,200,000.00 drawn, called
my attorney had the purchase agreement faxed to him to review, and
asked the agent if he knew of any gay building contractors in the area.
I explained that my partner and I were gay and we wanted to employee
as many gay and gay friendly people as possible in the construction.
We agreed to meet again in two days and have lunch and talk more.
He gave us the keys to the gate and the hunting cabins and told us feel
free to check the place out more before signing the final papers and
left.

After he left Russ, Tim and Brian spoke and said I guess you won't
need us any more now that you have found your property.

John looked at me, I smiled at him and nodded, he looked at Cody and
said what do you mean we will need you even more now.  We have to
build our dream house, but for the time being we need you guys to help
us get Hunting lodge area ready for us all to live in, and most
important what to do with Lake Cody.

Cody ran to John and jumped in his arms asking, what do you mean
Lake Cody, Uncle John.  I did not see any lake.

Well Cody if we dig out the swampy area we can make it into a great
lake, put a beach on one side and a boat house to keep the boats what
do you think, looking at me.

Well I think that is great and we need a couple large barns to hold all
the equipment that we will need and later we can keep the horses I
have always wanted in them. So what do you guys say will you stick
around and help us fulfill our dreams, we already consider you part of
the family.  After everyone hugging and a few kisses we made plans to
take a helicopter early in the morning to the property and have three
ATV's delivered to the Hunting lodge at 9am for us to use.
We ate dinner and went to bed early to be able to get to the Knoxville
Airport early the next morning.

As John and I settled in bed, he kissed me and asked if I was sure of
every thing I had done today and why.

Well I explained I liked it a lot and I could tell you did also even more
so when you started about draining the swamp.
The final touch was the Hunting lodge; it will give us some place to live
while our dream house is being built.  The property is almost in the
middle of nowhere, the main lodge can be used as a meeting and
planning center and we should hire a cook to live there.  We can have
the biggest of the remaining cabins, Tim and Brian can have one and
Russ and Cody can have one and the last one can be for the security
guards we are going to have to hire by doing all this now it will give us
time to explore the land more and find the best place for the house.  I

pick you up.  The ATV's were full of gas so we loaded the lunch and
went off towards the Lodge to do some exploring.  We all inspected the
main building finding the main room was about 30' by 30' with a large
fireplace and built-in bar.  On either side of the fireplace were floor to
ceiling windows that looked out onto the center of the cleared wooded
area with two cabins off to the left and two to the right.  Off to the
right of the main room was a huge dinning area and beyond the
kitchen and pantry with a walk-in freezer.  Off to the left were two
bedroom suites each with private baths and sitting rooms.  We were all
amazed at the size and layout of the center building and all wanted to
see the smaller cabins.  As it turned out all four cabins were identical,
as you entered each you were in the main room again with a fireplace
and windows on each side looking to the center of the complex to the
right was a small dining area and kitchenette and to the left a bedroom
suite with private bath including a hot tub, shower and tub.  The cabins
on either side were connected along the back by a screened in porch
and a covered screened in walk to the main lodge.  John and I choose
the first one to the right.  Russ and Cody next to us and Tim and Brian
the first one on the left.  The last one could be used for the security
team.  We went for a ride towards the swamp to see what we had to
do to create Lake Cody.

As we approached Russ amazed us by telling us he used to work in the
past on several survey and land developing teams and it looked as all
we had to do was dredge out the swampy area to the size and depth we
wanted.  It looks as this is just low land and with it dug out the stream
will fill in and then run out the other side.  We can build up the banks
with some of the excess dirt form a beach area and use the rest as
needed elsewhere.  We ate lunch and followed the stream up towards
it source and found went for quite a ways before we came to a small
lake in a rocky area and Russ reached down an tasted the water and
claimed he felt it was safe to drink and that it was a natural
underground spring that feed this lake.  We sat beside the lake and eat
lunch, called the pilot and headed back to the lodge area.  True to his
word thirty minutes later we were in the copter and headed back to
Knoxville.  When we got back to the hotel I had several calls waiting.
The real estate agent had called and my attorney also the deal had
gone through.  I called a local catering firm and asked if they knew of
a good cook I could hire also called a local security firm and asked
about two full time guards.  Then off we went shopping for furniture,
five stores and several hours later having purchased furniture for four
cabins and the lodge.  We went back the hotel and eat a great dinner
and retired for the night exhausted the fresh air and hiking we had
done had worn us out.

The next morning around nine o'clock the phone rang it was a young
man that worked at the catering firm and wondered if he could talk to
us about the cooks job.  I asked when he was free and he replied any
time as this was a slow time for catering and he was laid off right now.
We agreed to meet in thirty minutes for a late breakfast meeting.
Down in the dining room a short time later a drop dead beautiful
young man and small kid walked in and asked for our table.  The
young man walked over and introduced himself.  Hi I am Tom and this
is my younger brother Greg, I hope it is OK to bring him along as it
was short notice and his normal sitter was not available and he is all
the family I have.  I called Russ and ask if he could come down with
Cody a few minutes later they arrived.  Cody and Greg got excited at
seeing each other and hugged each other.  Cody explained he and
Greg had gone to Pre School together but Greg had to move to
Knoxville because his brother got a job and he stayed in Nashville with
his family.   Breakfast was ordered and we talked to Tom and told him
about our little family and what was going on. He in turn told us of his
cooking experience and showed us his degree and had several
references with him.  He asked how much we would be willing to pay
him as he was the legal guardian as well as older brother of Greg as
his parents were both dead.  He asked if he would be living with us or
what the arrangements were.  I explained that John and I were
partners and Tim and Brian were also and Russ and Cody would be
living together and that he and Greg would have a bedroom suite in
the main building in the Camping lodge.  He asked then if he could get
$500.00 a week clear.  I excused us for a minute and took him aside,
Tom I started and he said everyone just calls me Tommy, I said Ok
Tommy just so you are sure at least the four of us are gay and I just
want you to know that from the start.

He got a big grin on his face and claimed so am I.

I said OK than here is the deal you will get $1,000.00 a week take
home and Greg will get $100.00 a week helping Cody
You do not have to give it all to him but he must get some each week, the
rest put in savings.  After that was settled we went back to the table
eat breakfast and I told Cody that Greg was coming to be part of our
family and was going to move to the camping lodge.  Tim and Brian
had joined us for breakfast and when we were done we all left for the
lodge.  Cody wanted Greg to ride with us and Tommy wanted to drive
his pickup so John went with him and I asked them to stop along the
way and get a few groceries for us to eat.  We got to the lodge to find
a furniture van waiting for us, after showing them the way, we all
started unloading things for each place the little kids were great
carrying all the small items and bedding.  Shortly afterwards John and
Tommy arrived and with the kids help unloaded all the groceries they
had bought.  After putting all the food away Greg took Tommy to
show him their room.  As he walked in he could not believe his eyes the
bedroom was huge with two queen sized beds table lamps dressers and
a walk-in closet, a separate setting room with a wall mounted plasma
T.V. stereo, small fire place, a sofa, two chairs, assorted tables and
two desks each with it own computer.  Greg asked Tommy do you like
it Tommy, we did our room first to surprise you.

Tommy grabbed Greg and hugged him saying I love it Greg and love
you for doing it for me, kissed him on his cheek and just held him, till
Greg said I love you to Tommy and love when you hold me, but you
got to quit crying you are getting my shirt all wet.   Tommy set Greg
down and said go check what Uncle Joe and Uncle John have planned
for you to do and if you and Cody are free come into the kitchen and
you two can help me start lunch.

John and I went into the kitchen to find Tommy showing the kids how
to make bread dough for bread and dinner rolls, both of the little guys
were covered in flour.  I asked Tommy how he liked the kitchen, he
claimed is was just great even though it was a couple years old he did
not think it had been ever used much and he would be able to cook for
30 or more with no problem if he had some help.  We asked if he was
OK with the kids and he said that they were a great help.
He also stated that lunch would be ready in about three hours and we
had all better be hungry and laughed.

We all got busy setting up the small cabins and then the second
bedroom in the main lodge and finally the main rooms.
The dinning room was next a large table that could set twenty when
fully extended and then the twenty chairs filled out the space.  While
we were putting furniture into the main room the smells from the
kitchen were making all of us hungry
After the four sofas, easy chairs, tables and the player piano were put
in place we were ready to eat.  We were just about to sit down when
the kids ran in and said time to get washed up lunch is almost ready.
After we had all washed and sat down the kids brought out pitchers of
Ice tea, milk, pots of coffee and hot tea.  They had set the table with
Tommy's help.  Cody came out with a large bowl of corn and Greg
followed with a large bowl of green beans set them down on the table
and returned to the kitchen.  We all made comments about how much help
they were to Tommy.  The kids returned with two more large bowls
one of fresh salad and the other hot dinner rolls.  They set them down
and ran back into the kitchen and came out together carrying a large
tray of twice baked potatoes followed by Tommy with a large tray of
grilled stakes.  As Tommy sat down he ask that we all have a moment
of silent thanks,  I did not notice a dry eye after a second or two and
then Tommy asked that we all please help them selves.  After a few
minutes of total quite Tommy asked if the food was OK, I made the
comment that the only reason we were not talking is that this was the
best food I have ever eaten.
