sunset or the dawning of a day. Everything for him was blackness but he

She looked at her husband hoping that he'd say something to support her

mum.

When it was time for bed, Danny again slept with Phil leaving the other two
to sleep alone. Before they settled down for sleep each couple had
sex. Danny and Phil's was pure sex whereas the other two made love, even so
Phil had never enjoyed himself so much and was so glad he'd taken the
plunge and invited the guys over.


The following morning after their shower, they all went downstairs naked
having decided to get fully dressed after breakfast. This time Phil
prepared a cooked breakfast of fried eggs, bacon, sausage and fried bread
followed by toast and marmalade. He even made a pot of coffee so it was
back to normal for everyone. After they'd finished and helped clear things
away, the three guys helped Phil get the living room back to normal. Once
all signs of their weekend of pleasure adopting a peasant lifestyle had
gone, the three went upstairs to get dressed. By the time they came back
down, Phil had put on a T shirt and a pair of sweatpants. They all hugged
him and thanked him for a wonderful time. "Thank you guys for being such
good sports and I'll see you tomorrow afternoon in class but don't forget,
not a word to anyone."

"Don't worry Phil, our lips are sealed" Danny told him. He watched them
pile into Danny's BMW and then drive off. Once they'd gone he felt a sense
of sadness but he'd enjoyed himself immensely.


When they got back to their rooms, they gave each other a kiss and Danny
watched Jake and Matt go into theirs. He unlocked his door and suddenly
felt lonely. He so enjoyed the time away with his mates and wished to some
extent that he'd not persuaded his dad to pay for a room on his own but on
the other hand he would probably have been shacked up with a boring
straight guy so at least this way he could invite back whoever he wanted,
even though so far he only had three gay friends. He pulled out his mobile
and called Louis.

"Hi, you're back" Louis said excitedly.

"Yep; you want to come round and spend the night?" Louis jumped at the
opportunity and said he'd be round in ten minutes. When he knocked on the
door Danny opened it and they stood and looked at each other for a
moment. "You gonna come in then?" Danny grinned as he grabbed Louis's
hand. As their flesh came into contact, a warm feeling shot through Danny's
chest.

"I've missed you" Louis said as he walked inside. Once the door had been
closed, he made the first move, bringing a hand up to touch Danny's
cheek. But Danny was the one who dipped his head to close the gap and press
their lips together. The kiss was soft and mostly chaste but the touch of
Louis's lips sent a jolt of want through Danny that was so strong, his
knees felt momentarily wobbly. He parted his lips to taste Louis and slid
his hand around to the back of his neck, holding him close. For the first
time in his life he felt love rather than lust pouring through him. At
first Louis had been reticent about returning the affection because he'd
been thrown back by so many people; first his parents and his brother and
then by guys he'd thought were interested in a relationship but in fact
just wanted a one night stand. Things felt different with Danny but he
needed to be sure.

"I've missed you too" Danny finally said when the kiss had ended.

"How was your weekend at home?"

Danny suddenly felt guilty. He knew he couldn't be honest so he lied. "It
was good; my brother was home on leave so it was a family get together."
Louis nodded and remembered that Danny's brother was a pilot in the RAF
serving in the Middle East somewhere although nobody knew exactly where for
security reasons. "Did you get the work done that you wanted?" Danny asked
to change the subject.

"Yeah, totally up to date so it was good to have nothing else to distract
me."

"I see I'm a distraction am I" Danny giggled.

Louis went red in the face. "A rather nice distraction I should say; is
your brother as good looking and sexy as you?"

Danny shrugged his shoulders and pulled out a photo from his wallet. "You
decide" he grinned.

"Fuck, yes he's just as gorgeous; how old is he?" Louis exclaimed looking
at the good looking guy in his uniform.

"Twenty two but he bats for the other side and fucks whatever chick he can
get his hands on, so no good drooling over him" Danny laughed taking the
photo back.

"Does he accept your sexuality?"

"Yeah he thinks it's cool having a younger gay brother and my folks are
okay too"

"Lucky you" Louis replied sadly which made Danny pull him into his arms and
hug him tight. He was tempted to strip him and take him to bed because he
was dying to fuck him but he controlled himself and suggested they go fetch
a sandwich and a beer since it was now past lunchtime. Louis grinned and
agreed asking if Jake and Matt had returned. Danny shrugged his shoulders
as they made their way out hoping that the other two wouldn't suddenly
appear. He still felt bad about lying to Louis but apart from that he
wanted him to himself.

They spent a beautiful afternoon together and met up with the other guys
that evening when they went to the refectory for their evening meal. Louis
asked them if they'd had a good weekend at home and they both nodded
avoiding looking at Danny. Fortunately Jake and Matt said they wanted a
quiet evening in together so they went into their room and Danny and Louis
into his. Louis did stay the night and they had beautiful sex after which
Danny suddenly realised that he was madly in love with the guy.

At their French class on the Monday afternoon, nobody would have guessed
what the three guys had been up to with Phil over the weekend even though
he gave his usual squeeze to Jake's shoulders and Danny and Matt's but he
also touched other random guys as he moved round the group. After the class
one guy commented on Phil's touchy feely habit but Jake commented that
Frenchmen tended to be like that. "As long as he doesn't think I'm like you
blokes" the guy laughed "because I don't fancy him". The others laughed and
quickly made an exit.

After the weekend away with Phil, Louis spent numerous nights with
Danny. So many in fact that his landlady complained that he never told her
whether or not he'd be home which she considered very inconsiderate since
it meant the front door remained unbolted the whole night. "I'm sick and
tired of her constant questioning about where I'd been for the night as if
it's her business. She's not my fucking mother for god's sake."

"Why don't you move out?" Danny said one day when Louis was particularly
pissed off with her.

"Do you have any idea how difficult it is to find cheap student
accommodation in this town?" he wailed. Danny pulled him into his arms and
kissed him.

"You could always move in here with me" he said casually.

Louis looked at him for a moment. "Are you serious? Would it be allowed?"

"Don't see why not considering my dad has paid the college a premium for
this room. Besides you spend most nights with me now so what's the
difference?"

Louis hugged Danny and cried. "That would be fucking brilliant" he said
between tears "could I really?"

Danny kissed him and said of course he could so the next day he took great
delight in telling his landlady that he was moving in with his boyfriend
and gave her a week's money in lieu of notice. She was not pleased but
added that she didn't like his kind in her house in any event. "And I don't
like homophobes" he remarked so was overjoyed to be moving in with the guy
he loved.


As Christmas approached, students were getting excited about returning to
their homes. One day Danny asked Louis what he was doing. "Fuck knows"
Louis replied sadly.

"Come home with me"

Louis gasped. "Won't your parents mind?"

"Of course not, having one more joining us for Christmas won't bother them
and they'd love to meet you"

Louis felt tears of joy fill his eyes as he kissed Danny. "Thanks, thanks
very much".

When he told Jake and Matt, they too were delighted. "The only problem"
Louis told them, "is I've no idea what to buy his parents as a thank you."

"How about getting a nice big bunch of flowers for his mum?" Matt
suggested.

"And a big box of chocolates as a Christmas present" Jake added.

Jake could sense Louis had a problem with those suggestions. "Is there a
problem Louis?"

"It's just that now my parents have disowned me I don't have much money and
I want to buy Danny a nice present."

Jake pulled him into a hug. "Not a problem; here have this" he said and
pulled out a fifty pound note from his wallet".

"I can't take that; how am I going to pay it back?"

"You're not silly; it's a gift from one good friend to another" Jake
giggled and gave Louis a big wet kiss.

Louis felt tears fill his eyes again. These guys were all so nice to
him. "Thanks, I really don't know how to thank you guys enough."

"I'm sure we can think of something" Jake chuckled and gave Louis a quick
grope. Louis laughed and put the money into his pocket.


Jake needed someone to go shopping with him to buy Matt's Christmas present
since he couldn't take him so he asked Louis to accompany him. Louis also
wanted help with Danny's present so the pair set off one afternoon when
they were both free leaving the other two studying.

"I'm not sure what to get Danny for Christmas" Louis commented as they made
their way to one of the big department stores they'd decided to use.

"How about getting him a nice pen? He's always borrowing Matt's" Jake
suggested. Louis thought that was a great idea so they first made their way
to the pen counter. Although Jake never used pens, apart from signing his
name which he'd learnt how to do at an early age, he knew what Matt used so
asked the assistant to show Louis them. Having tried one, Louis decided it
was perfect so chose the colour he wanted. The assistant even gift wrapped
it for him so he was delighted.

They then made their way to the men's jewellery section. Jake had in mind a
nice leather bracelet for Matt and asked the assistant what they had. He
pulled out several and displayed them on the counter.

"This is particularly nice sir; as you will see its real leather". The
young guy then stopped having realised what he'd said. "Sorry sir, a slip
of the tongue".

Jake smiled. "It's okay, I'm used to it". He then picked up the item in
question and gave it a good feel. It felt and smelt good. "And this is all
real leather, not just a leather covering?"

"Yes sir and it has a silver catch which is very secure."

"What do you think Louis?" Jake asked.

"It looks beautiful" he replied. He also noted the price which was well
outside anything he could afford. "I'm sure Matt will love it". Jake smiled
and said he'd take it so the assistant boxed it up and gift wrapped it for
him.

"DVD section next" Jake chuckled, "I want to buy my dad a Star Wars DVD
set; he's mad on Star Wars." Louis searched the shelves and found one. Once
Jake was satisfied that was what he wanted he said he'd have it. Jake also
wanted to get some perfume for his mum so that was the next department they
went to. Having asked the assistant for his mum's favourite and got Louis
to confirm it was what he wanted, that too was purchased and give
wrapped. Their final purchases were cards for Matt and Danny, and a big box
of Belgian chocolates for Louis to give Danny's parents. On their way back
to their rooms they stopped off at the florist to order a big bunch of
flowers for Louis's thank you present when he went home with Danny for
Christmas.

"Got everything you wanted?" Matt grinned as he gave Jake a big hug and a
kiss whilst trying to peer into the shopping bag in Jake's hand.

"Yep, and no peeking" Jake laughed.

"Now would I do a thing like that" Matt laughed.

"Yes, you would; I know you" Jake giggled and grabbed Matt's balls.

"Think we'd better leave these two Danny; who knows what they'll be doing
next" Louis laughed.

"True; besides I might want to do the same to you" Danny giggled.


Finally the Christmas vacation came so Danny drove Jake and Matt to the
station for their train back to Bromley before taking Louis to Wetherby
Manor. As Danny drove in through the large wrought iron gates and then down
the drive towards the house, Louis gasped. He'd not really thought how
large the Seaton's estate would be. Danny then turned a corner and there
ahead of him was the house.  "Wow, that's beautiful" he gasped, "How many
rooms does it have?"

"Four reception rooms and I think it has nine bedrooms plus rooms in the
attic which aren't used these days, plus of course the kitchen area. Oh and
there's an indoor swimming pool."

"Wow" Louis exclaimed. He'd tried to imagine living in such a large house.

"The old house was even larger but my grandfather pulled that down and
built this one in the early nineteenth century. My parents rattle around in
it now that my brother and I have left home."

"Won't you live here when you've finished college?"

"Fuck no; I want a place of my own where I can do what I want without them
knowing what I'm up to" Danny laughed, "and now my brother is an RAF pilot
he only comes home on leave every so often. What will happen when my father
dies and my brother takes over the Dukedom I've no idea. It's been the Duke
of Somerset's seat for hundreds of years."

"It must be nice knowing you have that family history" Danny commented as
he thought back to the family who'd disowned him."

"Yeah, I suppose so" Danny nodded. Once he'd parked in front of the house
he patted Louis's leg, leant over and kissed him. "Love you".

"Love you too" Louis replied as a shiver of excitement shot through him as
well as a sudden feeling of nervousness at the thought of meeting Danny's
parents.

They'd hardly climbed out the car when the large front door opened and a
guy in his late thirties came down the front steps towards them. "Welcome
home sir".

"Hi John; I'd like you to meet Louis my boyfriend"

"Good morning sir and welcome to Wetherby Manor" John replied as he took
Louis's bag out of his hand before picking up Danny's. "Your mother and
father are in the drawing room sir".

"Thanks John; come on Louis let's say hello to ma and pa" Danny grinned as
he skipped up the front steps leaving John to bring in their luggage and a
bag of Christmas presents from the car. On their way into the house, Danny
explained that John was the house manager and Rose was the housekeeper,
both of whom lived in.

As Louis walked into the large hallway, he gaped at the grandness of it
all. He couldn't believe he was dating a Lord and would be spending
Christmas with him in this beautiful house.

"Hi mum, hi dad" Danny called out as he walked into the large drawing room
which was beautifully furnished with high ceilings that were decorated with
plasterwork.

"Hello darling" his mum replied and jumped up to give her son a hug. She
then looked at Louis who was standing somewhat uncomfortably to one
side. "And you must be Louis" she smiled and held her hand out. Louis shook
it and immediately felt at ease.

"It's so very kind of you to have me stay" he said whilst still taking in
his surroundings.

"You're more than welcome" she smiled and then leaned forward to whisper in
his ear, "I believe you have won our son's heart so any guy who can do that
is very welcome." Louis grinned somewhat relieved she knew that he and
Danny were boyfriends. By this time Danny was greeting his dad. For a
moment Louis watched father and son hug and kiss each other and he felt a
pang of envy. 'Why the fuck can't my parents be like these' he thought to
himself. He then realised he was holding the bunch of flowers so presented
them to Danny's mother.

"Oh how sweet of you; now that's something Danny's brother never does; I
think it must a gay thing" she chuckled.

"Hi Louis, welcome to our home" Danny's father said having put his son
down.

"Thank you sir, it's very kind of you to have me" Louis replied as he shook
the offered hand. Danny's father smiled and suddenly pulled him into a hug.

"Any friend of my son's is welcome here; and there's no need to call me
sir; why not call me dad, sounds far better."

"Yes, we don't bother with formality in this house; well, not when we don't
have to" she laughed, "So call me mum if you wish; I understand from Danny
that you have a problem with your parents."

"Yes, when they found out I was gay they and my brother disowned me."

"Bloody absurd if you ask me" Danny's father exclaimed, "You are what you
are son so they should accept that." Danny felt much more relaxed hearing
that and smiled.

"Their loss is what I say" Danny laughed as he pulled his lover into a hug.

"Why don't you take Louis upstairs so you can unpack and freshen up then
we'll have some coffee" Danny's mother said as she smiled at Louis. Danny
grabbed hold of Louis's hand and led him off.

As they went he heard Danny's father comment to his wife "Nice lad, such a
shame about his family".

Danny grinned at Louis. "Think they like you".

Danny's room was on the second floor, the first being used by his parents
and guest bedrooms. Two rooms on the second floor were used by John and
Rose but were separated from the main part of the house with backstairs
down to the kitchen area. Another set of stairs from these led up to the
attic which was now only used for storage. Danny's room was at the back of
the house. His brother's also used to be on this floor but was now only
used when he was home on leave. The room was enormous with a double bed at
one end and a small sitting area at the other with a desk to one
side. "Wow, this is quite something" Louis exclaimed. In total it must have
been three times the size of what used to be his bedroom at home.

"Yeah, all for us away from Mater and Pater" Danny giggled and pulled Louis
into a hug. He gave him an intense kiss which soon caused a reaction down
below.

"Think you'd better stop doing that otherwise I'll be going back downstairs
with a hard-on" Louis laughed.

"Don't suppose ma and pa will worry".

"They might not but I would; come on let's unpack." Danny grinned and
grabbed his bag. Within ten minutes they'd unpacked and hung everything up
in Danny's large wardrobe. Louis then looked out the window and admired the
beautiful grounds. "Who does the gardening?"

"An estate worker comes round every so often and cuts the grass and weeds
the flower beds"

Louis tried to imagine what it must be like to live in a place like this;
it was so totally different to what he'd known."


Jake and Matt had just arrived in Bromley by the time Danny and Louis were
sitting down to have a light lunch that was served by John. They'd grabbed
a taxi from the station and as soon as they walked in Jake's mum came
rushing up to see them. Matt held back whilst she hugged and kissed her
son. He knew it would be an emotional greeting as they'd not been home
since starting college. Once she'd hugged, kissed and inspected her son,
she turned to Matt and gave him the same welcome. As she did so he thought
of his own mother and wondered what she was doing for Christmas. She'd made
no contact despite him sending her a Christmas card but he'd decided to
send her one in any event even though he didn't expect one back.

"You're both looking well" she exclaimed having given both a good looking
over. Quite what she expected them to look like they didn't know but they
humoured her. Jake's father was still at work so they took their bags
upstairs and were told to come straight down again for lunch. Once there
Jake moved up close to Matt and put his arms round him. "Love you" he
whispered as he gave him a passionate kiss.

"And me you"

"And I've got you all to myself for two whole weeks" Jake giggled.

"I don't mind Danny and Louis being with us do you?" Matt remarked.

"Of course not, I love them to bits but it will be nice just to be on our
own for a while." Matt nodded, understanding Jake's point. Danny in
particular could be over excitable at times but he rather liked him and
Louis was a lovely guy. "I wonder how Louis is getting on with Danny's
parents" he remarked.

"From what Danny's told me, I'm sure they'll make him very welcome"

"Yeah, I'm sure they will" Matt replied thoughtfully.

"You miss having your own family don't you"

"Sometimes, but to be honest I feel I've got more of a family here."

"That's good because they love you and I love you" Jake replied and gave
his lover another kiss.

When Jake's father arrived home there was another emotional welcome. Matt
so enjoyed seeing the love between the pair of them which again reminded
him of his own situation. As if reading his thoughts, Jake's dad beckoned
him over to join the embrace. "And how's my adopted son?" he grinned. Matt
said he was fine and enjoying his time at college. "I hope this young man
isn't causing you too much grief" he joked.

"Do you mind, I'm the model student and boyfriend" Jake laughed and gave
his father a playful punch on the arm.

"Yeah, yeah, I'm sure you are; you can tell me what he's been up to later
Matt" his father laughed.

"You do and I shall never speak to you again" Jake laughed and grabbed hold
of Matt to kiss him. Matt chuckled and kissed him back.

"As if I would, besides he's as good as gold, well most times"

"I'll deal with you later" Jake giggled.

"Mm can't wait" Matt whispered into his ear which made Jake blush.

"When you two have stopped canoodling we'll eat" Jake's mother chuckled.

"Yes ma" both guys replied.


Danny's brother arrived two days before Christmas. He'd managed to get
leave for five days so as to spend Christmas with his family. Having been
hugged and kissed by both his parents he turned towards his brother.

"So how's my gorgeous brother" he grinned as he wrapped his long arms round
Danny. Louis stood to one side not wanting to disturb the family reunion
but again it reminded him of his own family. 'Why the fuck can't my brother
love me like this' he thought as he watched the love between the two
brothers.

"Ben, this is Louis, my boyfriend" Danny finally managed to say once he'd
escaped from his brother's bear hug.

"Hi Louis, great to see you; any guy who can take on my brother has my
deepest respect and sympathy" Ben laughed.

"Fuck off" Danny laughed and gave his brother a light punch on the
chest. Louis grinned and shook Ben's hand. He could see the resemblance
between the two brothers. Both were good looking and full of energy. He had
a feeling this Christmas was going to be a lot more lively than his
family's.


Christmas was indeed very lively. More visitors arrived for drinks on
Christmas morning so Louis kept very much in the background but Danny
looked after him so he didn't feel too much out of things. Christmas lunch
was full of fun with Ben and Danny sparring with each other and he enjoyed
it immensely. He decided it was the best Christmas he'd ever had. The
beautiful meal had been cooked by Rose and served by John, both of whom
were invited to join the family and another relation who arrived that
morning and stayed overnight so it was a joyous event with eight
people. After lunch they exchanged presents and Danny's parents thanked
Louis for his beautiful box of chocolates. They gave him a scarf which he
loved and couldn't thank them enough for being so kind and making him so
welcome. Danny loved his pen and gave him a big kiss right in front of
everyone which embarrassed him but that was Danny and nobody seemed to
care. Danny gave him three music CDs which he knew he'd like so everyone
was happy.

That night when they finally went to bed well lubricated from all the
alcohol they'd consumed during the day, Danny pulled Louis into his arms
and hugged him tight. They were both too tired to have sex but promised
they'd do so the following morning, which they did.

Once the actual Christmas was over, Danny and Louis were left to their own
devices so Danny took him out for a walk to show him part of the
estate. They also swam naked in the pool which Louis was not sure about but
Danny said nobody cared and his parents often saw him naked. As it
happened, nobody came into the pool area whilst they were there so all was
well. The pool was situated in its own building attached to the side of the
house so was away from normal living.


Christmas at Jake's house was also going well even though it wasn't quite
as grand as that at Danny's. Even so, Matt enjoyed it immensely and felt so
at home with his new 'parents'. Matt loved his leather bracelet and Jake
loved the jumper Matt gave him along with a music CD. Every night they made
passionate love and often when they woke in the morning too.


When the Christmas holiday ended, they all made their way back to Bristol
fully refreshed for another term. Early in the New Year they had mock exams
so had to get stuck into their studies once they'd shared what they'd all
done over the Christmas period. Their tutorials with Phil took on a
different atmosphere after their weekend with him although they never
repeated it. Even so, Phil enjoyed his weekly period alone with the three
guys as did they with him.

Before they knew it, the Easter holiday was upon them and Danny invited all
of them to Wetherby Manor. Since Jake knew his mum and dad would want to
see him and Matt they arranged that they'd spend a week with Danny and then
the final days of their holiday at home. Danny's mother and father welcomed
Jake and Matt as warmly as Louis who they now treated almost as one of
their own. Jake and Matt slept in the spare room next to Danny's on the
second floor so they were all nearby. Needless to say they had foursomes on
some evenings before going to sleep and swam naked in the pool. Jake loved
the freedom of the pool since he liked swimming, especially in the
nude. They also went out on long walks around the estate often taking with
them a picnic to eat since the weather was warm enough to do so on some
days. Whilst lazing on the grass in some secluded area, they'd fool around
with each other and on one occasion stripped off down to their briefs to
have fun.


The summer term was soon upon them and they all knew they had to get down
to some hard work if they were going to pass their end of term exams. When
they came, they all got through them with relative ease so set off on their
summer holiday feeling on a high.

One thing they had to do was organise new accommodation for their final
year since the college accommodation was only available for first year
students. Early in the summer term they agreed to flat share so they set
about trying to find one. Fortunately Louis knew four other students who'd
done the same for their final year so would be vacating their flat at the
end of term. They all went to see it and decided it would be perfect.

"Will it be okay for you Jake?" Danny asked somewhat concerned about the
layout and some steps between one bedroom and the other.

"Sure, it's fine, I can manage those without breaking my neck" he
laughed. Each bedroom was small but there was a large living area in which
there was room for them to study without disturbing each other too
much. The kitchen was also small but Louis and Matt, who it was agreed
would do the cooking, said they could manage. The bathroom had been
converted into a wet room and contained a large shower area so they all
looked forward to showering together in that.

"I've always wanted to fuck in the shower" Danny giggled.

"Seeing the size of that shower area you can fuck all of us one after the
other" Louis laughed.

"Now that sounds like fun" Jake chuckled.

They therefore agreed to rent the flat for their final year so signed all
the necessary papers. When the landlord realised he was renting to a Lord
he was very impressed. Danny said he was happy to pay for the summer period
so they'd have somewhere to put the stuff they didn't want to take home for
the holidays and then they'd share the rent between them for the rest of
the year although Jake had a feeling he'd also pay for Louis since his
finances were very tight whereas Matt had more money available so was able
to pay his share. The landlord was more than happy since often he had a
dead period between terms.

The first three weeks of their summer holiday was spent together at
Wetherby Manor again since the four guys got on so well and enjoyed each
other's company but Jake and Matt returned home for the remaining weeks to
keep his parents happy.

The holiday seemed to fly by and soon they found they were meeting up again
in Bristol but this time at their flat which was only five minutes away
from the college. By the time Jake and Matt arrived, the other two had been
out and done a big shop for groceries so everything was ready for their
first home cooked meal together.


A few weeks after term had started they decided to visit the Queen Shilling
one Friday night. They'd all been studying hard so felt they needed some
relaxation. The bar was busy but once they'd got their drinks they found a
corner to view the talent. As usual Matt gave Jake a running commentary of
who was around. "There's a young guy who's on his own at two o'clock". Jake
automatically turned in that direction and Matt noticed the guy smile at
them. "I think he's interested" Matt chuckled and smiled back. The young
guy responded and if Matt wasn't mistaken he casually touched his
crotch. By this time the other two had clocked him so also smiled. Having
decided the four were interested, the young squeezed his way over to them.

"Hi, I'm Sam"

"Hi Sam, I'm Matt and this is Jake, Danny and Louis"

Sam shook each of their hands making sure it lingered. He even squeezed
them to make doubly sure he was interested. They chatted for a while and
Sam explained he was in his first year of an art course. He was just

"Well, I think this deserves a celebratory drink" dad chuckled as he got up
to go to the kitchen.

her champagne.

"That's a great idea" dad agreed, "why not invite them down for a few days
before you all go back to college." Jake and Matt thought that a good idea
so said they'd contact them.

exams. After the call had finished, Jake and Matt went off to tell mum and

Danny and Louis arrived just before lunch on the Wednesday before they had
to return to college on the following Sunday. Once the introductions had
been done, everyone drank a toast to the happy couples. Mum thought Danny
and Louis were delightful and felt a lot happier about Jake spending a year
with them in New York. Danny announced that he'd booked the first Friday in
July for the wedding ceremony at the Registry Office in Bristol since that
was the only date available around then and Jake's mum agreed to make a
joint wedding cake since Danny's parents were arranging the reception.

By the time they arrived back at their flat in Bristol on the Sunday
everybody was feeling on top of the world despite knowing they all had to

Louis joined them so Phil could go through the plans for their life in New

take they would have to buy in New York. Fortunately Greg was supplying
computers for the new business so they only had to take Jake's specially

already planned they'd come over early the following year so it would only

Finally they were in their seats. Jake, Matt and Greg sat in one row and
the other two guys in front. They then settled down to their eight hour

It took almost half an hour for the luggage to come off the conveyor belt
but once it did the three guys loaded it onto a trolley. Once they'd found
Matt and Jake they set off to find the car that Greg had organised. The
chauffeur was waiting for them at the arrival gate so they made a beeline
for him. It took them forty minutes to drive from the airport to the house
in Manhattan and as they drove along Greg pointed out things of
interest. By the time they arrived, Jake felt he had a good visualisation.

"Here we are guys" Greg chuckled, "You new home for the next year". The
other three guys gasped. It was a townhouse situated on several floors that
had four bedrooms, a large reception room and another on the ground floor

Once Greg had left them, Ethan suggested they have a rest after their

Ethan was soon back with some refreshments and sat down to talk about what
food they liked and disliked and any particular things they wanted him to
do. Several things went through their minds but not the kind of thing to

the house, did the cooking, cleaning, washing, ironing, shopping and

When they'd finished their refreshments he showed them round the house. He
first took them downstairs to look at the office they'd be using. It was
already furnished with four desks, computers and a large printer that had
scanning facilities. There were also filing cabinets and each computer had
a webcam. All they now needed to do was get things sorted to start
work. Louis had already started to plan out a website so it wouldn't take

Once they'd decided who was using which room, Ethan carried up the luggage

Mandarin translation service since they were doing business with the
Chinese more and more. Louis showed Greg his ideas for the website which he
liked and suggested a few tweaks so Louis said he'd get down to producing
that immediately. The others had put together text and ideas for sales
leaflets which Greg also liked. He soon realised that these guys certainly
didn't let the grass grow under their feet. "Looks to me as if you'll be up
and running within the week" he grinned. The others said they would which
pleased him no end since he already had other companies interested in the
service.

He then passed over a document which a client wanted translated into French
so Danny said he'd start working on that as he had a feeling Jake and Matt
would be more occupied with the Chinese. He almost wished he too had
studied Mandarin but having seen the problems they'd had to start with he
realised he'd never have got to grips with it. His colleagues were far
better than he ever would be but he wanted to show them he was good at
something.

"See remind me, do you all speak Spanish?" Greg continued. All three said
they did.

"Danny is particularly good" Jake announced which caused a glow of pride to
shoot through Danny. He was about to say they were just as good but he had
a feeling Jake wanted to make him feel good because of the Mandarin. Later
he thanked Jake for his confidence in him but he said Danny was very good
and not to do himself down.


By the end of the week the website was up and running, the office systems
were more or less working okay as was the Skype and Google voice and video
calling systems so they were ready for business. On the Monday morning they
had their first voice and video session for a client who was holding a

since the work was demanding although they both listened in as they

time he'd brought Jake to a climax, Matt had brought him to another
too. Still Matt wouldn't release Carl from his shackles and seeing he still

"Danny, it's your dad" he said in a painful tone. Immediately Jake sensed
something was wrong and whilst Danny took over the phone he called Louis
over to where he was sitting.

"What is it Louis; what's happened?" Jake could sense that Danny had tears
running down his face even though he was making no noise. Louis knelt down
in front of Jake and Matt and clasped their hands.

"It's Ben, he's been killed in action; seems his plane was shot down and
when the rescue crew got there he was dead."

"Oh my god" Jake exclaimed having taken in the tragic news. He knew how
close Danny was to his brother so immediately stood up and went over to
where he was now sitting on the floor with the phone still in his
hand. "I'm so sorry my love; I know he meant a lot to you." Danny nodded
and looked into Jake's sightless eyes. He threw his arms round Jake and
cried his eyes out whilst Jake patted his naked back.

"I loved him so much; he was my best friend as well as my brother" he
managed to get out in between the tears.

"I know", Jake said trying to comfort him but not really knowing how you
comforted someone who received that news. By this time Louis had moved
beside his husband and wrapped him in his arms so Jake started to move away
wanting to leave them grieve together but Danny held on to him.

"Don't go, I need you; I need all of you" he added as he kissed Louis who
was still crying his eyes out. Matt had gone to tell Robin and Carl the
news and they too were equally upset even though they'd never met Ben.


Quite how they all got through the next few hours none of them knew but
somehow they did and the following morning Louis called Danny's father to
say they were on their way home. They had no idea when the funeral would be
but both he and Danny felt their place was with mum and dad. Danny wanted
to drive but the others persuaded him not to saying he was in no fit state
to concentrate on the road for a whole three or more hours. Since he was
the only driver, he finally agreed to go by train and Louis asked for John
to collect them from the station. The farewell was very emotional and the
six guys had tears running down their faces by the time the taxi arrived to
take the pair to the station.

That evening, Louis called to update the others on the situation. It seemed
Ben's body was on its way back to the UK and would arrive in two days. In
the meantime various officials of the RAF visited the family and offered
their condolences. Everyone knew that the life Ben lived was a dangerous
one but it was the one he chose and loved so the others just accepted it
hoping against hope that this scenario would never happen.


The funeral took place ten days later and Jake and Matt joined the family
in their loss since they'd met Ben at the wedding and of course knew
Danny's parents. Like all funerals it was hard for the family to get
through but somehow they managed to do so and did Ben proud with those they
loved by their side. Finally the four guys made their way back to London in
a sombre mood. As they waited for their train, Danny whispered "You realise
that I'm now the only heir to my father's estate so when he dies I'll be
the Duke of Somerset. What the fuck am I going to do once that happens?"

Louis hugged him and lightly kissed him on the cheek. "Let's cross that
bridge when we have to" he replied softly knowing that Danny hated the
thought of being the Duke.

Danny then reached out for Jake and Matt's hands and held them tight along
with his husband's. "I want to know you're all still here" he cried.

Jake gently patted Danny's leg with his other hand to comfort him. "You can
touch me as much as you want Danny; we'll always be here for you." Matt
looked at his husband and smiled. The guy never ceased to amaze him despite
his own disability he was always aware of the needs of others. He placed a
hand on top of Jake's and Louis did the same as they sat silently waiting
for the train to take them back home where they knew another young guy was
waiting and who needed their love and protection.
