Chapter 7
<<See the Sun>>

"AARON WATCH OUT, HE'S GOT A GUN!" Jeremy yelled and then the guy,
who was beneath Jeremy, hit him hard in the head with a three branch that
was on the floor. Aaron saw Jeremy falling down and hitting the floor,
hard, totally unconscious and then, he turned to see the guy pointing the
gun at him.
BANG!!! A bunch of birds that were by the lake were scared by the
loud gunshot and flew away...
	"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!"
Aaron fell to the floor with quite some weight on his back and his
eyes closed.

<<Minutes before the gunshot, in the surroundings>>

"OK we've got all that we need now!" A guy told someone on his cell
phone as he put away his camera.
"Having fun with your toys there pal?" A voice with a southern
accent came from behind the guy and then when he turned to look at the
person behind him, he was punched square in the face. "Owww!!!" The guy
yelled as he fell on his back to the floor.
"Now if you don't mind, I'm borrowing this!" Kevin said as he took
the camera and then walked away.
"What happened?" A voice yelled from the cell phone.
"Some guy hit me and took my camera!" The photographer said as he
rubbed his now busted lips.
"WHAT? And you led him go just like that?" Scott yelled furious
through the phone.
"Well, he was a lot bigger than me!" The guy replied.
"You piece of shit... Where da fuck is Lisbeth and why isn't she
answering her fucking cell phone?"

<<Meanwhile, somewhere else around the lake>>

"You bitch... Why don't you just let us be huh? Because of people
like you, fame is hell for us celebrities!" Nick said as he slapped a woman
and pushed her against a tree.
"Ouch you beast!!! You're hurting me!" Lisbeth complained.
"You wont be messing with my little brother ever again!" Nick said
as he took the camera away from her and her cell phone throwing it into the
lake.

<<A few feet away from where Nick was>>

"THERE THEY ARE!!! GET THEM!" Brian yelled as he and Juan jumped to
get the other two photographers who were trying to flee from the place now
that they had noticed the irregularities happening with the other
photographer and Lisbeth.
"Gotcha!" Brian yelled as he grabbed one of the guys and punched
him hard in the face. Juan instead, pushed the guy against a tree and held
him against it.
"Tell me who da fuck is behind this?" Juan yelled at the guy as he
took away the bag where his camera was. The guy wasn't saying a word. "Got
his camera?" Juan asked Brian.
"Yup!" Brian replied as he punched the guy in the stomach. The guy
fell to the floor in pain then Brian grabbed his cell phone and dialed
Nick's.
"Got the other two?" Nick asked as soon as he picked up.
"Yeah, we need to get Aaron and Jeremy outta there now!" Brian said
frantically.
"I have a very bad feeling about all this!" Nick said.
	"Nick, HURRY, PLEASE!" Brian yelled.
"Kevin is going there with the police!" Brian said and then Nick
ended the call and took off running towards the small place by the lake. A
gunshot was heard and then a familiar voice yelling
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!" Nick's heart skipped a beat and prayed that
nothing had happened to Aaron. He got to the clearing place and what he saw
terrified him. His brother falling to the floor with David on top of him.
"NYPD FREEZE!!!" One of the police officers yelled as Kevin and a
few police officers more got to the place. Kevin ran behind the black guy
holding the gun and kicked his hand. The gun flew up and then fell to the
lake. The other officers were quickly arresting the rest of the gang, which
weren't putting up any sort of resistance.

"FUCK!!! NOOOO!!! MUST I ALWAYS DO EVERYTHING MYSELF?" Scott yelled
furious as he took a gun out of his pocket and then shot three times at the
black guy who shot Aaron, he was being arrested by the police officers by
the time. Then he put away the gun and his video camera which had recorded
everything that happened and then started running into the park... He was
frantic, the image of what just happened was on his mind and couldn't stop
worrying.
"The gunshots came from that area!" One of the officers said as he
went running with two more to search it.

"AARON!!!" Nick yelled as he ran to get him. Kevin was already
there trying to get David off of him. "CALL AN AMBULANCE IMMEDIATELY!!!
SOMEONE'S BEEN HURT!!!" Kevin yelled.
"Aaron are you ok bro?" Nick said as he took Aaron in his
arms. Aaron had just his eyes tightly shut and then opened them to see his
brother with tears forming in his eyes.
"OH THANK GOD!" Nick sobbed as he hugged his brother tightly.
"Where's Jeremy?" Aaron asked and then Nick turned to see by the
lake shore where a police officer was carrying him up in his arms. "How is
he officer?" Nick asked.
"He is just unconscious but we need to take him to the hospital, he
got hit in the head pretty hard!" The officer replied.
"And David? Is he alright?" Aaron asked as the thought hit him. "Oh
GOD!" Aaron gasped as he saw Kevin holding David's unconscious body. He was
bleeding profusely from his lower left side of his abdomen drenching his
baby blue jacket in blood. David had jumped to protect Aaron with his body
from the bullet. And as he received the bullet he pushed Aaron down falling
on top of him. He wished he wasn't seeing what he was seeing and then a
huge urge to cry overtook him. Aaron buried his face into Nick's chest and
started sobbing. Nick held his brother tightly and led him discharge all
those mixed emotions he had been holding for a while. Five minutes later,
the paramedics arrived at the place and took David out to the ambulance. He
was in a very critical condition and was losing blood at alarming
amounts. He looked very pale and his face was expressionless.
"He needs medical attention too!" Officer Taylor said and then the
paramedics also took Jeremy and put him in the very same ambulance David
was in.

<<Meanwhile, somewhere, near the southern exit of the park>>

Brian and Juan walked towards the lake with the bags they had taken
from the photographers. Brian's cell phone rang as they walked quietly and
he answered. It was Nick.
"Did you find them?" Brian asked him.
"Yeah, we did!" Nick replied, his voice sounding down and
stressful.
"Are they alright?" Brian asked, "Nick, what da hell is wrong?"
Brian kept on asking frantically getting Juan's attention.
"Jeremy was hurt, he got hit in the head with a tree branch by a
gang!" Nick said.
"OH MY GOD, Nick, how's Aaron?"
"Thank God he's alright, but because David saved him!" Nick said.
	"David saved him? What happened?"
"David was shot, Brian, he is very critical and we're taking both
him and Jeremy to Bellevue's Hospital right now!"
"OH GOD!" Brian whispered, "Did you call Mr. Sumpter?"
"I've been trying to reach him but he's got his cell phone turned
off, he said he was going to be very busy. I've left him a message telling
him that we're gonna be at Bellevue hospital and we would explain
everything there!" Nick replied, "Listen, we gotta go now, the police
officer in charge is taking Kevin, Aaron, and me to the hospital so meet us
there OK?" Nick said.
"Alright babe, we'll be there!" Brian said and then they ended the
call.
"We need to get out of here and go to Bellevue's Hospital!" Brian
said putting away the cell phone in his leather jacket's pocket.
"I don't think that's gonna be possible!" Juan said as he stared
blankly to the front. By the time both of them had stopped walking.
"What do you mean is not gon-...!" Brian was asking but as he
followed Juan's stare, his eyes focused on a masked tall guy pointing a gun
at them.
"Give those to me... NOW!" The masked guy demanded as he stood
pointing the gun at them. Brian and Juan just stood there shocked but at
the same time aware of the seriousness of such request.
"Are you two fucking deaf? Give me those cameras!" The guy
insisted.
"Alright take it easy man, we'll give them back to yo-...!" Brian
was saying but then was awfully interrupted by the guy.
"You better hand them over right this instant if neither of you
would like to take a quick one!" The guy threatened, "Leave them in the
floor and then turn and walk back!"
Both Brian and Juan did as he said and then stepped away and turned
to walk back. They heard a zipper of a bag being opened and a few seconds
later closed. When they turned around to see, the guy had vanished...

<<Bellevue Hospital's Emergency Room>>

It had been nearly an hour since David and Jeremy were taken
in. Half hour later, a doctor gave word about Jeremy's condition who only
seemed to have a mild concussion. Aaron, Nick and Kevin were in the little
secluded room where Jeremy was put to rest. He was sleeping peacefully and
unaware of the world around him. Brian and Juan got to the hospital a
little later and asked Nick and Kevin if they could talk to them outside
where officer Taylor was too. Aaron stood right beside Jeremy while the
adults walked out.
"That guy took them?" Kevin asked with certain anger rising inside
him.
"We couldn't do anything, he had a gun!" Juan said hopelessly.
"Were you able to identify who he was?" Officer Taylor asked.
"Like I told you, he was wearing a mask that covered his face
completely and had the hood of his black sweater on!" Brian said.
"SHIT!" Kevin spat out as he hit the wall with his fist.
"Calm down Mr. Richardson, we're doing everything we can to get to
the bottom of this!" Officer Taylor said when a doctor approached the group
of them.
"You all came with David Gallagher correct?" The doctor asked.
"Yes doctor, how is he?" Nick, who had been awfully quiet during
the discussion, asked the doctor.
"I'm so sorry gentlemen, he couldn't make it!" The doctor replied.
	"WHAT?" Kevin asked stunned.
"Oh my GOD!" Nick stumbled and leaned against the wall losing the
few color left on his face. Juan just closed his eyes and Brian ran to take
Nick in his arms.
"The bullet damaged a very important pulmonary artery and stayed in
between the boundaries of his heart and the left lung... We tried our best
to keep him breathing but his body wouldn't even respond to the artificial
respiratory... His lung failed him causing him to die of a respiratory
failure... I'm really sorry... Now you need to get a hold of his family and
inform them of the situation... They need to be present to get in charge of
the following procedure!" The doctor said to them. "Then again, I'm really
sorry, it's awfully upsetting to see a young person die like this,
especially when he was just starting to live!" The doctor said and then
retired leaving Kevin, Juan, Nick, Brian and Officer Taylor in a very
disturbing silence who was broken by Nick starting to sob.
"Oh babe!" Brian said as Nick just leaned his head on his shoulder.
"He died to save my brother!" Nick said as tears ran down his
cheeks.
"How am I gonna tell Aaron this?" Nick asked.
"Tell me what?" Aaron said as he walked out of the room. Then he
noticed that large faces on everybody and Nick's crying.
"What's going on? What's wrong? How's David?" Aaron asked getting
anxious.
"Aaron...!" Kevin said as he turned to face the young
blonde. "Unfortunately... he couldn't make it!"
Aaron's heart sank as he heard that and his legs felt weaker than
ever. His body gave in and once again he was falling to the floor on his
knees. His eyes were wide open and his mouth slightly opened. After all, he
still loved David and this time he was gone forever. Tears couldn't come
out as much as he wanted them to. His mind seemed to be filled with such
overwhelming emptiness accompanied by a horrible feeling of guilt. The only
reason why David was gone was because of him, David had sacrificed himself
just to let Aaron live and be happy. But how happy had intended David to
let Aaron live if he was going to have to carry on with such burden. After
such horrible day, Aaron's mind was tired, it was too much for him to
handle and deep down inside, he refused to accept the truth, he refused to
believe that David was gone forever. This time his whole self gave in and
passed out... As he fell, he saw his brother call out his name but he
couldn't hear him, he felt numb, weaker than ever, like if his five senses
had suddenly stopped working and then everything went dark.
"AARON!" Nick yelled as he and Kevin ran to pick him up.
"I'll get a doctor!" Juan said as he took off running down the
hall. A nurse that was passing by assisted them. "Lets put him on the other
bed inside the room!" The nurse said and then Kevin carried Aaron in his
arms, took him inside the small room where Jeremy was also. Kevin laid him
on the bed carefully and then Juan walked in with the doctor that was
taking care of Jeremy.
"Please, can everyone step outside while I check him?" The doctor
asked.
"Sure!" They all replied in unison and then walked out of the room.
"So now what?" Kevin asked but gained no answer.
"We need to contact that boy's family and tell them the bad news!"
Kevin said. "Nick, you know where to contact them?"
Nick just shook his head and then mumbled his brother's name. Nick
was just too upset to think straight. Brian embraced him to try and calm
him a bit. Kevin then went to get the doctor who attended David. After
Kevin left, the other doctor came out of the room with the nurse.
"Mr. Carter!" The doctor said causing Nick to stare up at him.
"Your brother is just fine, he passed out of physical and emotional
exhaustion so it seems. I strongly recommend that when you go back home he
gets a very good rest and alimentation!" The doctor said. But then Kevin
was coming back with a very upset Gary Sumpter following behind him. Kevin
had gotten David's wallet and cell phone, which might contain his parents'
number to call them up.
"Where's my son?" Gary Sumpter asked frantically looking at Nick.
"Ah, Mr. Sumpter, I am Doctor Marcus, your son is fine, he just had
a mild concussion but nothing to worry about. All the tests that we ran of
him showed no brain damage as well as no fractures or anything. Right now
he is sleeping in this room. When he wakes up he could be taken home. I'm
only prescribing him some mild medicines for the head ache!" Doctor Marcus
explained to calm Mr. Sumpter but it wasn't helping at all.
"Mr. Carter, I want an explanation for this!" Mr. Sumpter demanded,
"I want to know what the hell happened to my son?"

Inside the room, Jeremy opened his eyes slowly. It took him some
time to adjust to the light of the room. He was confused, he didn't
recognized the place at first but soon he realized he was in a hospital
room. Then his mind raced back to the events at the Central Park... <<>>
"AARON WATCH OUT, HE'S GOT A GUN!" He yelled and then he saw David
getting up from the floor and then he felt something hit him in the head
and then blacked out. <<>>
"Aaron!" Was his first thought and then he sat up on the bed. His
head hurt a little. He wasn't yet aware that he wasn't the only person in
the room. He turned to his right and then saw Aaron laying on the other
bed. Jeremy thought the worst. He rapidly took off the iv and got off the
bed and walked towards Aaron. Aaron seemed to be breathing peacefully,
which calmed Jeremy, he also noticed that Aaron didn't have any iv on and
he was still wearing his clothes. Then he assumed that he must have fallen
asleep accompanying him. A sweet smile formed on his face as he watched his
boyfriend in his sleep. His trance was disturbed by loud talking outside
the room. Jeremy then walked towards it and soon heard his father's
voice. He stood there for a few minutes and then he learned of David's
death. Jeremy's heart sunk as his stare turned to the sleeping form of
Aaron. He remembered seeing David getting up from the ground and running
towards Aaron. He felt sorry for David now that he had seen no bad
intentions while at the central park, he just loved Aaron and was trying to
deal with his mistake as best as possible. He even defended them from the
gang. Jeremy was still standing by the door staring at Aaron and listening
to the conversation outside
"I'm not so sure if I should believe you Mr. Carter!" Mr. Sumpter
said. He had stopped calling Nick by his first name like he used to. "I
feel that there's more to this than what you're telling me, but let me tell
you, I intend to find out anyway!"
"Mr. Sumpter, you're right, there's more to this story bu it is
just not my place to tell you!" Nick replied, "Right now we're dealing with
something really disturbing. I just can't think straight right now. I'm
sorry, I disappointed you by not being more careful while taking care of
Jeremy!"
"I wanna know that part of the story!" Mr. Sumpter said. He seemed
to have ignored what Nick said last. Nick just looked away trying to scape
Mr. Sumpter's cold stare.
"I'll tell you that part, Dad!" Jeremy said walking out of the
room. Everyone turned to look at Jeremy.
"Jeremy!" Mr. Sumpter said as he hugged his son, "How you feeling?"
"I'm fine, Dad, don't worry!" Jeremy said calmly. Nick looked at
Jeremy in awe as he tried to read Jeremy's mind. He couldn't possibly be
thinking of telling his father the whole truth about his relationship with
Aaron. But Jeremy was determined to end this hide and seek game once and
for all. He already accepted himself for what he was... And his family had
better accepted it to... for the sake of everyone in it. Besides, he loved
Aaron, and he knew that his father would do anything for him to be happy no
matter what. There was also the fact that the Sumpter family was very open
minded and didn't judge people according to their way of life. Then Jeremy
realized that it had been a mistake not telling his parents about it
before.
"It's OK Nick!" Jeremy said, "He has a right to know. He is my
father and I know he loves me as much as I love him!" Mr. Sumpter
understood immediately what Jeremy had meant. He knew what his son was
heading at and his suspicions were confirmed.
"Dad, there's something you need to know about me... And then after
that you can make all the connections you want!" Jeremy said. Mr. Sumpter
just stared at his son, tears were welling up in his eyes. He just brought
his son closer and embraced him...
"Dad...?" Jeremy tried to talk but Mr. Sumpter cut him off.
"I know, Son!" Mr. Sumpter said.
	"Huh?" Jeremy was confused now.
"I've known for a while... And just so you know, you are still my
boy, my son, the one I love and I'm so proud of!" Mr. Sumpter said as he
led some tears run down his cheeks. Jeremy was stupefied.
"But... how?" Jeremy wondered out loud as the embrace became
tighter.
"The fact that I'm old and that I'm your father doesn't make me
stupid!" Mr. Sumpter said simply. "Besides being my son and knowing you so
well, that magazine couldn't have been more clearer... And when you met
him, your smile and bright eyes when you were around him confirmed it
all. I don't know if your mom suspects it or knows but all I can tell you
is that I still love you the same and I wont treat you any less... I am so
proud of you anyway!" Mr. Sumpter finished.
Everybody around was quiet staring at the both of them. Nick stood
next to Brian with his jaw wide open and surprised of how it all had turned
out to be so easy.
"So you knew about that magazine?" Jeremy asked in
shock. Mr. Sumpter just nodded. The magazine Mr. Sumpter was referring to
was the very same one by which Aaron found out about Jeremy being gay and
in love with him on Christmas day.
"And why didn't you tell me anything?" Jeremy asked finding his
voice.
"Because I was waiting for you to tell me!" Mr. Sumpter replied. A
very awkward silence followed the moment and then Jeremy just hugged his
father tightly.
"Does this mean that you're OK with me and Aaron being together?"
Jeremy asked.
"I'm OK with that... In the time being of course... But there are
some things that need to be discussed for the good of you both... Right
Mr. Carter?" Mr. Sumpter asked staring up at Nick who just nodded.
"I'm so sorry to interrupt the moment but we have something really
serious to take care of and that's calling David's parents!" Kevin
insisted, "Nick since you were the only one who knew him better than us can
you take care of that please?"
"But what am I gonna tell them? This is not easy, you know, to call
someone's parents and tell them such horrible news. It's gonna take me some
time to think things over!" Nick said.
"While you do that Mr. Carter, I need the boy here to file a police
report on this afternoon's events!" Officer Taylor said referring to
Jeremy.
"Officer can't this wait until tomorrow?" Brian asked.
"I'm sorry sir but it has to be immediately. It seems that behind
all this there was somebody else involved, some sort of criminal
mastermind. The one who fired the gun at the boys was killed while getting
arrested!" Officer Taylor explained. "Somebody who was in charge of the
whole thing shot him from not a far off distance and escaped into the
park's woods!"
"So it might be the same guy who took the cameras from us!" Juan
said.
"Perhaps!" Officer Taylor said, "You see gentlemen, the guy who got
killed was the leader of the gang and according to what the rest of them
have said is that he had some instructions from somebody else!"
"And how about the presence of the media and that note that I
received at the hotel?" Jeremy asked.
"That is precisely why I need you to tell me the events!" Officer
Taylor said, "Mind if we go to the doctor's office and you tell me all
about it?"
"No problem, I'll go!" Jeremy said, Mr. Sumpter hesitated to let
Jeremy go but then Jeremy spoke: "Don't worry dad, I'll be fine. And thank
you, you're the greatest dad ever!" Jeremy said as he walked with officer
Taylor. Mr. Sumpter just smiled at him and then turned to Nick.
"So where's Aaron?" Mr. Sumpter asked.
"He was very overwhelmed by David's death so he passed out!" Nick
replied.
"Dear God, is he alright?" Mr. Sumpter asked.
"Yeah, he is just resting!" Nick replied.
"Why don't we all finish what we have to do here and then lets go
back to the hotel, we all need to rest!" Juan said.
"Sounds fair!" Brian said, "Baby, are you gonna call them now?" He
asked Nick who was still pondering how was he gonna tell Mr. Gallagher
about his son's death.
"I... I met them once that they were visiting David and oh well,
they seemed nice and all!" Nick said.
"Better reason for you to call and tell them then!" Brian said.
"I know, Brian, but what am I gonna tell them when they ask me what
was the whole conflict about? I can't tell them the whole truth about the
relationship that he had with my brother!" Nick said.
"They don't have to know about that!" Brian replied calmly,
"Unfortunately, David died to save Aaron, he was just looking out for
somebody he loved... In other words, he just gave his life for his beloved
friend. Lets just say that they were at the wrong place at the wrong time!"
"So you mean I just should lie to them?" Nick asked.
"You're not technically lying, you are just keeping certain things
that are not necessarily needed to be told, and that way you'd respect
David's memory!" Brian replied.
"OK, then!" Nick said, "Here I go!" He said as he took his cell
phone and dialed...

<<Meanwhile, Somewhere in Manhattan>>

A dark figure trashed his apartment not caring what he broke or
destroyed. There was a very strong smell of alcohol and many liquor bottles
were scattered on the floor. The young man who stared at himself in the
mirror just reflected a look of pure pain and anger and then he grabbed a
bottle and smashed it against the mirror breaking it into pieces. Scott
Berger couldn't deal with the fact that his dirty plan had gone completely
wrong and totally out of proportions. He was very concerned about David, he
needed to know how was he doing. His mind was so intoxicated by the alcohol
that he couldn't think straight then he grabbed another bottle and threw it
across the room. The bottle hit the TV, and it went on. By the time, the
news of David's death had already been made official by his
family. According to the news, David Gallagher had been killed in a robbery
attempt from a gang of black males at the southwest area of the central
park. Then they showed images of David's family at the hospital along with
Aaron and the rest. Scott stood motionless as he stared at the TV
screen. His mouth had gone completely dry and his rage had grown even worst
beyond imagination. He just grabbed the TV and threw it across the room
also breaking it. He grabbed a baseball bat and started hitting it
madly. He yelled and cried, he grabbed the broken pieces of class on the
floor and crushed them tightly in his hands causing them to bleed. Scott
was in pain... He hadn't intended for this to happen, he only wanted to
take out the man who had stolen David from him but then David died to
protect him... He was also in denial, he didn't want to admit that it was
his fault that David was dead... He just blamed it on Aaron Carter...
"It was your fault, Carter!" Scott hissed, "And you will pay for
this... You have completely taken him away from me...!" Scott said as he
bent down and curled in a ball. He stared at David's luggage, which was
still by the door and cried. "Damn you Aaron Carter, DAMN YOU!!!" He
yelled.
"Nobody is ever going to ruin your memory... It should be him
instead of you... My Dave, my little Dave...!" Scott whimpered, more tears
ran down his cheeks. After all, David and him had been best friends before
Scott moved out of town and lost contact with him. Scott had always been in
love with David. Ever since they were 14 years old, Scott loved David
silently. But just when he found out that David was in fact gay, he had
already been taken by Aaron Carter...
Scott glanced over the bag that contained the cameras from all the
reporters that he had called to the central park. Two were missing which
were the ones that Kevin and Nick had retrieved. He opened the bag and
emptied it all on the floor; he cursed under his breath when he noticed the
other two missing. He got up and took some matches and fired up the fire
place... "This will never come out to the public, Dave, I swear!" Scott
said and then started taking out the films from the cameras and throwing
them to the fire. Even the video that he had recorded, he took it out and
threw it to the fire. Soon, the whole living room was full of black smoke
with the smell of burning plastic all over. Then Scott walked towards the
apartment entrance were David's bags were and took them to his room...

*******************************

January fifth of the year two thousand and four David Gallagher
died to save the love of his life; noble action taken with
determination. That Monday was certainly very dark for these group of
celebrities that had to be witnesses of such tragedy. Nick called Mr. Vince
Gallagher and informed him of his oldest son's death. The family was
devastated and were traveling to New York City from Los Angeles, the very
same day. Nick told them a fixed version of the true events keeping David
and Aaron's relationship a secret. When Aaron, woke up, he still had the
hope that it all had been a bad dream but it wasn't. He woke up to face
reality again and it was tougher than ever. He was relieved to see Jeremy
conscious again and by his side the whole time. Jeremy was his strength at
all times. Aaron also filed a police report but this time pointing out a
possible suspect, Scott Berger, who he thought, could have been behind all
this even though there was no concrete evidence on that. While they were
leaving the hospital, Jeremy told Aaron that he had come out to his father
and that he was OK with it but that he had to talk to them about it
still. Aaron took the news well but wasn't too thrilled about it, he barely
cared about that at the moment. True that it should have concerned him a
lot because it was something important to his boyfriend but he was still
having a hard time assimilating David's death. Terrible guilt was the only
thing he was feeling...
The very same afternoon, they had to go back to the hotel and stay
one more night, now that David's family would be arriving soon to New York
City to arrange the whole funeral. Nick, Mr. Sumpter, Aaron, and Jeremy
greeted the Gallaghers at the airport later on that night, and took them to
their late son. Then again, it was a very sad scene. Mrs. Gallagher broke
down as soon as she put her feet on firm ground as well as her daughters
and sons.
The funeral was arranged and the family decided to burry him in the
town in which he had been born. College Point, Queens. It was a very
discrete funeral with only family and closest friends. Many other
celebrities assisted like the entire cast from Seventh Heaven, the show
that had made David very famous. Nick, Brian, Kevin, Juan, Mr. Sumpter,
Aaron, and Jeremy also assisted. Aaron wasn't feeling good at all, he felt
guilty. Jeremy had noticed that and he pretty much figured out on his
own. Aaron, in a way, still loved David. That was something Jeremy had been
able to accept ever since he realized it. If he was in Aaron's position he
would probably be feeling the same way. The only thing he could do for
Aaron was to love him and be there for him always so that he didn't feel so
bad. Jeremy also realized that he have had David in the wrong
concept. David was just fighting for his love and was trying to get Aaron
to understand that. This was something that Jeremy found quite admirable
now that David was willing to let go of Aaron just so that he could be
happy with him. Aaron had barely been talking and Jeremy was doing his best
to cheer him up but the more he tried, the more he was feeling rejected by
Aaron.
The night before the burial Jeremy went inside the room that they
were staying at in Juan's house of Long Island and played a song from a CD
in the stereo so that he could illustrate a point to Aaron. Aaron was
laying facing down on the king-sized bed and unaware of Jeremy's
presence. Jeremy just put the CD in the stereo, walked over the bed and
laid an envelope on the night table then turned to leave the room and as he
did so, he hit the play button and the song started playing softly. At
first, Aaron didn't move but as the song progressed he listened to the
lyrics more intently and soon he got the message...

Come on take my hand, We're going for a walk, I know you can, You can wear
anything, as long as is not black, Please don't mourn forever, HE's not
coming back, And yes they'll ask you where you've been, And you'll have to
tell them, again and again,

Aaron's eyes were filled with tears now, that cleverness of his
boyfriend was captivating him more and more, day by day. He knew that he
loved Jeremy, all that he was trying to do was helping him to get through
such rough time. Aaron then sobbed freely as he hugged a pillow with all
his might. He was finally letting go of all those mixed emotions that were
confusing him terribly.

And you probably don't want to hear tomorrow's another day, But I promise
you'll see the sun again, And you're asking me why pain's the only way to
happiness, And I promise you'll see the sun again.

And it was true, he was going to see the sun again. Jeremy was that
sun, the only one who'd lit up anything with a smile on his face and with
his eyes radiating life, happiness and love. It was surprising how much
maturity you could find in a kid who would be turning fifteen years old in
the incoming month. That made Aaron love him even more. That night, Aaron
cried all that he had been keeping inside for the few days that have passed
after what happened at the central park.
When he calmed down he got up and noticed the envelope that Jeremy
had left on the night table. He took it, opened it and read what it
contained.

There are better things to come in your life and I hope I'm one of
them... I just want you to see the sun again, and when you do, I hope that
I'm beside you by then...

Love,

Jeremy

Aaron smiled and mumbled: "I'm already seeing the sun, and I want
you by my side now!" Then he left the room looking for his boyfriend. That
was all that he needed. Jeremy was watching TV with Nick and Brian in the
living room, they were laughing as they watched Pirates of The
Caribbean. Aaron came downstairs still smiling, the three guys in the
living room turned to see him and they were puzzled to see Aaron smiling
widely. Jeremy smiled back at him and then Aaron ran beside him and planted
a huge kiss on his lips. Jeremy giggled and then wrapped his arms around
his boyfriend.
"I thought you probably needed to listen to that!" Jeremy said
still smiling.
"Yeah, I needed it... I love you baby and thank you so much for
being here with me!" Aaron replied.
"I love you too!" Jeremy replied kissing Aaron on the cheek.
Nick and Brian just smiled at the two boys and then the four of
them continued watching the movie. Later on, Kevin called them to eat
dinner, which he and Juan had been working on pretty much the whole
afternoon and Mr. Sumpter got home just in time for it. That night, both
Aaron and Jeremy slept peacefully in each others arms. Aaron was definitely
feeling much better and Jeremy was glad that he was.
The following day was the day of the burial, they all attended and
said their last good bye to David. Aaron had a bouquet of white roses,
which were David's favorites, and he put them on top of the coffin a long
with the rest. This time Aaron didn't cry, he had led it all out the day
before and was feeling much more relieved. David's family was in horrible
grief along with his friends. Many took their time to say a few words
before the last farewell. Barry Watson, Jessica Biel, Beverly Mitchell,
Mackenzie Rosman, Stephen Collins, and Catherine Hicks were David's second
family and they too took their time to say good bye to their little Simon
Camden. It was the terrible loss of a son, brother, and a friend but he
would always live in everyone's heart to be remembered as that beautiful
person that he ever was...

*******************

In a far off distance from the crowd, Scott stood next to a tree
also saying good bye to David. He couldn't believe that he was seeing
this. David was dead because of his stupidity but he wasn't brave enough to
accept that and deal with it. Instead, he'd rather be a coward and blame it
all on Aaron, who could have been the one being buried at the time. He too,
had a dozen of white roses but since he couldn't get closer, he just waited
until everybody else was gone to walk up there and put them right on the
grave. When he did so, he cried and after a moment he left...
Attached to the white roses there was a little paper that read:
"I'm so sorry David, I'll always love you!"

Beloved son, devoted brother and a true friend.

May your soul rest in peace, for in our hearts you will always exist.

I'm so tired of being here. Suppressed by all my childish fears. And if
you have to leave. I wish that you would just leave. Because you presence
still lingers here. And it won't leave me alone.

These wounds won't seem to heal. This pain is just too real. There's just
too much that time cannot erase.

When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears. When you scream I'd fight
away all of your fears. And I've held your hand through all of this years.
But you still have all of me.

You used to captivate me. By your resonating light. Now I'm bound by the
life you left behind. Your face it haunts my once pleasant dreams. Your
voice it chased away all the sanity in me.

These wounds won't seem to heal. This pain is just too real. There's just
too much that time cannot erase.

When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears. When you scream I'd fight
away all of your fears. And I've held your hand through all of this years.
But you still have all of me.

I've tried so hard to tell myself that you're gone. And though you still
with me. I've been alone all along.

When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears. When you scream I'd fight
away all of your fears. And I've held your hand through all of this years.
But you still have all of me.

Please be gentle... All I ask of you is to please spare my life and
let me be! I'm so sorry it had to be this way but he had to go... And NO,
he is not coming back if that's what you were gonna ask. Many of you might
be hating me right now and I understand, I mean, I didn't like it either
because David was one of my favorite characters but then again, he had to
go. If you don't want to continue reading my story, I'll understand, so
feel free to send me all the hate you could possibly be feeling toward me
right now. The first stage of Aaron & Jeremy has ended and I promise you
that everything will get better... You'll see a beautiful relationship
blossom and things will get interesting again.
Thanks to my faithful readers, I got the most incredible feedback
ever for "The Central Park Showdown" I really hope I haven't disappointed
anyone with this chapter that just ended. This chapter was very sad and
dramatic. Others might wanna call it corny but hey, it is opened to any
sorts of interpretation.
Noah, Lar, and Derreck, thanks for being diehard readers and for
having faith in my work. Katherine, thanks for your support, guidance and
inspiration, it truly means a lot to me that you have faith in my work. I
love you girl!
Everything in my life is getting back on track as it used to be so
I'm doing a lot better, so better in fact that you can expect the following
chapter probably next week.

Thank you so much to all for reading and see you next time.
