-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the last part.

Shane and Lance decide to go on a date to Brian of bsb birthday party,
Justin is planning something, Jc is having feelings and Chris wnats to have
Shane model in the nude.

Here it is Angels Wings

***Shane's house later***

Shane woke up at six so he could be ready for the guys at 7:30.

When 7:30 around Shane was ready and dressed in a black tux that was
accompanied with a jade green silken vest than in the refection of some
light turned silver. The top button of the suit was a cufflet that was a
black stone that had a silver dragon wrapped around the outskirts.

At 7:35 Lance arrived with the limo filled with all the guys equally
dressed. Trish was already in the limo because her house was closer to the
hotel than Shane's. The ride to the party was uneventful until they hit
the block where it was being held.

The party was for the Backstreet Boys, Brian Littrell's birthday. It was
being held at a dummy hotel so fans wouldn't be able to find the guys when
the party was over. There were hundreds of people outside when the limo
pulled up. Despite what tabloids say, the guys of N'sync and Backstreet
are good friends.

When everybody from the limo got inside we moved to our table and decided
to mingle. Shane stayed mostly with Lance while Trish stayed with Joey.
Everybody else went on their separate ways sometimes in the night meeting
again with each other to talk only to break away again.

Lance and Shane went to the punch table and was grabbing a drink when
somebody came up behind Lance and covered his eyes. This scared Lance
causing him to jump.

"Guess who?" The women who had lance asked.

"Well telling by the height and the voice and nasty ass perfume, I would
say Britney."

"Shut up my perfume is nice." She said sniffing her wrist.

"I know just messing with you."

Lance and Britney talked for a while catching up with each other until
Britney finally noticed Shane.

"Hi and you would be."

"Oh I'm sorry where are my manners, this is Shane, Shane this is Britney."

"Hi." Was all Shane was able to say. "Hello, how are you?" Britney asked
ginuely interested. "Ok and you?" Shane asked letting go of the shy act.
Shane and Lance talked to Britney for a small while moving to a corner of
the ballroom as they talked, Britney flirted with Shane without abandon
sending looks and rubbing her legs against his constantly. Lance saw this
and the look of fear and uncertainty that wear being inscribed into Shane's
face.

"So Shane how long have you known Lance?" Britney asked as she took a
drink from her glass. "I almost had to rearrange his anatomy for him when
he jumped in my face while ordering." Shane laughed out causing lance to
blush. "I said I was sorry, but now a friend of the group." Lance
defended.

Britney turned to Shane again. "Are you seeing somebody?" "Not at the
moment but I think I have someone in mind." Shane answered smiling.

"And what about you Lance are you seeing anyone yet?" "I'm kinda waiting
to see where it goes".

Britney continued to hit on Shane until Lance nudged Britney motioning his
head towards Shane. "Oh my god" She gasped out loud. Drawing a few
unwanted stares. "Is this you boyfriend? I am so sorry" She sputtered out
getting embarrassed.

Lance panicked. He saw 3 sets of eyes that seemed to multiply to thirty, He
thought he heard whispering among some of the people, he began to feel hot
and spat out the first word that were on the tip of his tongue

"Hell no, are you crazy" He laughed nervously "I wouldn't never, you know
he's not my type, besides what do I look like having one love." As soon as
the words left his mouth he regretted them. He couldn't even bring himself
to look in Shane's direction. He realized there were no eyes on him and no
one was talk about him, but he couldn't take it back, he didn't know how.

Lance's answer hit Shane like a brick when the voice from earlier came back
"? He is a celebrity once he sees he can't get what he wants from you he'll
drop you." Shane decided to get another drink, leaving Lance and Britney,
feeling the walls were closing in on him threatening to shatter his world
at a stray breath. He made his way to the drink table and was going to
head back to where Lance and Britney were when something caught his eye.

It was a full moon that was viewable through a huge glass balcony that
showed the night sky. Shane went to where the balcony was to see that it
was the joining place to the ballroom and a secluded sitting room.

The room was dark and was lit solely by the white light of the moon. It
was a simple room that made you feels at home. It was the size of a small
movie theater. It had nicely arranged seats of different verities that
faced either faced the wall sized balcony window that was sectioned like a
green house or the grand fireplace. Shane found a soft white couch that
faced the window that was set upon a shaggy white rug and placed in front
of a glass coffee table.

He placed his glass down and looked up to the beauty of nature that was the
moon. Shane looked at the area around the moon and saw two stars that sat
on either side of the moon. This picture though beautiful brought his mind
back to Lance.

"Humph, it's even in the stars." Shane laughed to himself, taking another
drink from his wine as a tear made it way down his cheek. Slowly his mind
started to register that he was alone yet again, the routine of being
lonely was not to be interrupted this year.

He raised his drink to his lips again, when he heard someone clear their
throat

"Excuse me, nobody is supposed to be in here." Shane didn't bother to even
look at the speaker he slow rose up from the couch and was about to grab
his drink but he didn't know the guy was so close and bumped into him.

***Brian***

I was glad the night was almost over. These parties were boring, always
having to be the perfect host for everyone. But I was glad to this if it
meant when my real birthday rolled around I could spend it with friends and
family instead of executes and strangers. Another thing I hated about
these things was the fact the hotels made us pay for anything they could
make us.

Everything was going, as planned dinner was nice they brought out the cake
and some presents were passed out. Nothing went bad so far which meant it
was bound to happen.

The guys were nice enough to help me make sure everything went ok tonight.
Nick and me stood at one end of the hall on a staircase over looking some
of the crowd.

"Oh o stray at 9 o'clock," Nick said to me, pointing at a guest the
wondered into one of the side rooms. "I'll get this one." I said letting
my voice drip with exhaustion.

I followed the man into one of the sitting rooms. When my eyes adjusted to
the darkness of the room I was able to see he sitting on one of the
couches. He seemed to be transfixed on the moon as he took occasional sips
from his glass.

I cleared my throat to get his attention. He did seem to hear me so I
moved closer as I explained he wasn't supposed to be here.

"Excuse me, nobody is supposed to be in here." I said trying to get his
attention but he must not have been listening because when he was standing
he bumped into me. He was about to fall, before I caught him.

"I sorry." He whispered "It's ok you didn't mean to." I said just wanting
him to leave the room.

I gently pulled his arm towards the door, when he finally lifted his eyes
to look at me.

I was blown away at his beauty. His eyes seemed to mirror that of the
moon, lacking color but still beautiful in their own right. His face was
strong but his skin looked soft, and inviting tender kisses. His lips were
a nice shade of pink that looked perfect against his bronze skin. The
moonlight enhanced his features as it washed over him like a river of holy
light. I could feel his muscles in the arm that I was holding, and knew he
could pull away with out a problem. My eyes traced his face as I saw a few
stray tears leave his eyes passing a slight beauty mark and down to his
clean-shaven chin.

"I'm sorry" he started, placing his eyes on the ground once more. "I didn't
know I wasn't supposed to be-" "Shhhh" I said placing my finger to his
lips.

"Are you ok?" I don't know why but I wanted to do everything that I could
to make him happy. He looked back into my eyes again with a look that
could warm the coldest of hearts searching for something. I don't know if
he found it or not but he collapse into my arms and stared crying harder. I
lead him over to the couch and cradled him letting him cry. His cologne
danced under my nose burning into my mind as I held him.

After about 5 minutes he stop and began pulling himself together. "I'm
sorry I didn't mean to ball like a little girl." He apologized. His voice
was sweet; I could hear a slight accent in it but not enough to place it.

"It's ok, but are you ok?" I asked not wanting him to go just yet. "Yeah,
just realizing the truth." He answered looking back into the night sky.

"Do you want to talk about it?" He looked at me with those damn eyes.
Each time he did I felt myself getting weak. He seemed to be looking for
something in my eyes; I dared not blink, not wanting to break the contact.

"Have you ever loved someone, loved someone so bad that you would give
anything to make them feel the same?" He asked me while a tear rolled down
his eye.

I didn't have an answer but he didn't wait for one.

"That's what I did, I feel head over heals for someone and he tossed my
heart out the window."

Did my ears deceive me or did he just say 'he'.

He wiped his eyes again. "Sorry I don't mean to bring you down. Hi I'm
Shane." He said sticking out his hand.

"Bri-Brian." Shane got a got a look of surprise on his face. "Oh man not
only am I sucking the life out of the party, but I'm keeping you from your
own birthday." He said placing his face in his hands.

"Hey don't even worry about it, this isn't really my birthday, just
something for publicity." Then I got a good idea. "In fact in a couple of
weeks I would like for you to come to my party." Hoping to make sure that
this would not be the only time I got to see him.

"I don't know if I should." My face fell; I was hoping that he would agree.
"It's not you it's just, that things between me and my boyfriend don't look
good, and he might be there."

"Well you don't have to go as his guest you'll be mine" I knew I was
begging but I wanted to see him again "come on please it's my birthday." I
said giving him my best pout.

Then he did the most beautiful thing I've ever seen, he smiled. It was
breath taking and the laugh that followed it was just as exciting. "Ok
I'll think about." But as all good things must come to an end, my time
with Shane did.

"Shane!!!" I saw JC of N'sync running in. "Thank God I spotted you when I
was running by, are you ok?" "Yeah Josh, I just needed to breath for a
while."

"Lance was worried sick."

I saw Shane flinch at the mention of Lances name. "Why?" He said coldly.

"Wha-What do you mean?" Jc looked totally confused. "Never mind I just
wanna go home." Shane said making his way to the door. He turned to look
at me once more. "Thank you Brian." And he was gone. Jc looked after him
worried and then back to me and ran out the door after him.

***Jc***

///I don't know what happened, but Shane seemed distant. When I saw him
leaving the ballroom that he and Brian were in, I could still see tear
streaks on his face.///

///I swear if he hurt him I will have his head, whoa where did that come
from. I don't know why but I feel like I have to look out for him. ///

///Well good luck looking out for him// Jc thought scolding himself ///you
cant even find him. /// While thinking to himself he lost Shane again.

After scanning the room for a minute he saw Shane taking a glass of water
and a napkin from the table. As he walked through the scattering crowd he
gently wiped his face.

Jc kept a hawk's eye on Shane until he saw him sit down at a table.

///All right, I should go tell Lance that I found Shane before he has
kittens. ///

Jc found Justin with a hysterical Lance a few minutes later.

"Man scoop calm down. It can't be that bad." Justin said, not
understanding why Lance was so upset. "Yes it is, this was supposed to be
our first date and I start it by damn near yelling out I would never date
him."

"Ok wha-" Justin said dumb struck, as he started counting things on his
fingers. "It was your first date, and he seems to like you and you start it
by damn near yelling out you wouldn't date him?"

Lance could only nod sadly, looking at the floor. "Wha th-, umm, ok."
Justin stammered trying to get his thoughts straight. "What the hell is
wrong with you?" He finally made out.

"What happened?" Chris sad jogging over, because of Justin little out
burst. "Well it seems that, James here was on a date with Shane." Justin
said emphasizing Lances name.

"On a date, so does that mean-" "Nope." Justin broke in. "He blew it with
Shane, so he might be out of the race."

"What did you do?" Chris asked in an amazed voice. "He yelled out that he
would never date him." Justin answered for him.

Each word that came out of his friend's mouths seemed to engrave in stone
that he had slim to nil chance with Shane.

"Well look at it this way, he may forgive you and think it is better to
find out now, and not later." Jc said trying to cap the geyser of scolding
remarks.

"If he does make up with you you'll only be his plutonic friend." Justin
said with a smirk.

"A what?" Chris asked with a smile

"Well a plutonic friend, to Lance here Shane would be someone he tried to
fuck, and he made a wrong turn somewhere and ended up in the friend zone."
Justin said mimicking that he was trapped somewhere. This had Chris
laughing his ass off.

"But you'll still be his friend." Jc added sitting and putting his arm
around Lances shoulders

"Oh of course, guys like Shane might keep a plutonic friend forever."

"See told you." Jc said glad Justin was on his side. "You see" Justin
picked up again. "A plutonic friend to someone as fine as Shane is like a
dick in a glass case, I case of emergency break open glass" When Justin
said this everybody except Lance lost it.

Even Jc was in tears on Lances shoulder.

Just then Shane came up the stairs. "Um can we go now." He asked with a
childlike voice, not risking meeting eyes with Lance.

"Yeah sure." Chris said in a serious voice after seeing the hurt in his
face.

The limo ride back home was quiet, to say the least. Shane sat on one side
of the limo against the window with Jc and Joey beside him. Sitting
directly across from him was Justin with Chris and Lance diagonally from
him.

The guys sat in silence as they watched their old friend's and new friend's
relationship take it's premature fall. Lance would try to get Shane to
meet his eyes but Shane would only look out the window. When Lance
couldn't stand it any longer he began to look out his window and slowly cry
about what he lost, and what could have been. They visions that he had
made him only try again in a futile attempt to get Shane to acknowledge
him.

Truth was that Shane wasn't looking out the window; he was watching Lance
in its reflection. Wondering how could a feeling that seemed so right, be
so wrong. He longed so bad to asked was he telling Britney the truth, but
feared the answer. When he did get the courage to look at Lance the limo
had stopped in front of his house, where their eyes met for only a moment.
They spoke with out words both asking questions.

Gray asking, why and was it true? And Green wondering will you and can you
forgive me? But with out words to clarify no questions were answered.
Gray shed newfound tears a burst from the limo. He didn't even hear Lances
cries for him to stop.
