Brian & Keith -- 9

Soon Brian returned ready to get into bed. Keith went and took his turn in
the bathroom and returned as quickly as he had left. After much pouting and
grinning, Keith got his favorite side of the bed, as it happened that Brian
also preferred the same side.

'I think I will have to get used to this side of bed, because there is no
way I am giving up sleeping next to Keith just so I can have my favorite
side,' Brian thought as he smiled.

"Good night Brian," Keith said sleepily.

"Good night babe, sweet dreams," Brian replied as he kissed Keith's
forehead.

Brian put his arm around Keith as he spooned him from behind. He was not
sexually excited, but content with just being able to hold Keith and
hopefully have a peaceful night of much needed sleep.

Keith murmured, "I love you," just before he went off to slumber land. Brian
did not hear him because he had already dozed off, but Brian did tighten his
grip around Keith a little which signified that he felt the same. Soon,
Keith joined him in slumber land.

Keith stirred as he felt some pressure on his right shoulder. He didn't feel
pain but more like discomfort. He did not want to open his eyes praying that
the discomfort would go away by itself. Instead, the 'discomfort' turned
into pain forcing Keith to wake up and face the new day.

Keith opened his eyes to see Brian pressed into his right side holding onto
Keith's shoulder tightly. Keith smiled despite the sharp pain. He wiggled a
bit to see if that would wake up Brian. No such luck. He really hated to
wake up Brian, but the pain was really intense now. Brian looked like an
angel sleeping there with a coy smile on his face.

Keith brought his left arm over to Brian and shook him. He got no response.
Now, he had to do something quickly because the pain was killing him.

"Brian!" Keith shouted as he shook Brian.

Brian jolted straight up at hearing the shout from Keith. Keith sighed
loudly with relief as the pressure on his shoulder was gone. Unfortunately,
Brian was a little too close to the edge of the bed. When he shot up, he
fell backwards off the bed and landed on his backside on the floor.

"What the hell!" Brian exclaimed as he raised himself off the floor and sat
on the edge of the bed.

Keith slightly laughed while looking at Brian trying to rub his butt.
Keith's pain was gone now, and he felt much better. But Brian, on the other
hand, was not so lucky. His pain had just started.

"Why did you do that?" Brian asked sorely.

"I'm sorry but you were hurting me," Keith replied while snickering.

At the sound of the word, 'hurting', Brian immediately straightened up and
stared at Keith with wide eyes. His mouth fell open as he continued staring
in amazement. He did not want to hear that word ever again come out of
Keith's mouth, especially attached to his name.

"I'm sorry Keith, I did not mean to hurt you, are you okay," Brian said
rushing to Keith's side immediately.

"I know Brian, you were asleep, I'm okay now," Keith replied as he looked
into Brian's eyes.

"Are you sure?" Brian asked with concern.

"Yes, my love," Keith replied with a big smile.

Brian smiled as he heard those words. But, not before he made a silent
promise to himself that he would make sure never to hurt Keith in any way
again. He knew it sounded corny, but that is how he felt. He was brought out
of his trance when he heard Keith's voice.

"Brian, I think that we should get up and get ready for the guys," Keith
said as he managed to sit up.

"Okay, but not before I change those bandages, so that I know that you are
okay," Brian replied as he got up and went in search of the supplies that
the doctor had given him.

Brian returned in about three minutes carrying the bag that held the
bandages and the ointment. Keith layed back on the bed perfectly still
waiting for Brian to start. Brian sat on the bed next to Keith and started
his work. He meticulously worked on 'his patient' as he snipped the old
bandages and applied the new ones. The whole process took about thirty
minutes. Keith finally sighed with relief. He liked the support that the
bandages provided.

"All done!" Brian exclaimed as he tossed the old bandages in the trash can.

"Good! now we can start breakfast for the guys," Keith sighed as he sat up
in bed. He felt refreshed and renewed after he was treated by his own
personal doctor.

"Yeah, we hardly have time to shower and prepare breakfast for the guys,"
Brian said as he got up from the bed.

Keith followed Brian into the bathroom and started brushing his teeth as
Brian got into the shower. Keith noticed that Brian did not take off his
boxers before stepping into the shower. 'Hmm! interesting, is he going to
shower with them on,' he thought as he chuckled to himself. Then Keith
washed his face, and as he was drying his face, he noticed that Brian's
boxers were laying on the floor. "I guess he decided that he would be more
comfortable without them," he whispered as he chuckled again to himself.

Finally Keith left the bathroom as he heard the shower being turned off. He
heard Brian singing as he was soaping up his body. Keith could not hear the
words, but the tune seemed very familiar to him. He recognized it after a
while as 'I'll Never Break Your Heart'. He smiled to himself as he imagined
Brian singing this song only for him. He left the bathroom and entered his
bedroom. He wished that he could take a shower, but that seemed impossible
with the bandages. The doctor had promised him that he would be able to
shower in a couple of days, and that would be tomorrow, hooray! Not that he
stank, but he didn't exactly feel fresh.

After Keith had finished getting dressed, he made his way to the kitchen. He
heard the water turn off as he passed the bathroom door. 'Good, he's done,
now he can help me make breakfast,' he thought as he laughed out loud. The
image of Brian in a kitchen cooking something just seemed hilarious to him.
He stepped inside the kitchen and remembered last night how Brian and him
had together cleaned up after dinner and how good that felt. That thought
brought a smile on his face and made him feel good again. He was brought out
of his trance by the phone ringing.

"Hello," Keith said happily as he picked up the receiver.

"Well! good morning, isn't someone in a chipper mood today," the man said
with a laugh.

"Good morning Kevin, how are you," Keith said also with a laugh.

"Good, how about yourself?" Kevin asked with concern.

"I'm doing fine, your cousin is taking very good care of me," Keith said
with laughter.

"Wonderful, what else do you think he is there for," Kevin replied also with
laughter.

Keith roared with laughter when he heard that statement. He could not help
it. "I'll be sure to tell him you said that," he said after he had a chance
to calm down.

"Don't you dare," Kevin warned. "Anyway, the reason I called is to see if
you guys are up to making breakfast for us," he asked with caution in his
voice.

"Yes Kevin, we're fine, you shouldn't worry that much," Keith replied with a
smile. He secretly loved the concern that Kevin showed towards him. It made
him feel safe.

"Okay, just asking. I'm going to go and wake up the other goofballs and then
meet you guys in about one hour," Kevin said as he laughed.

"Okay, will see you then," Keith said before he hung up the phone after
Kevin did.

Keith started to get things in order for the breakfast that he had to
prepare. He took out the groceries that Brian had bought yesterday. There
was a good assortment of food. And, Brian had also bought plenty of milk and
orange juice.

Keith decided that he would go ahead with the breakfast without Brian as it
would take all of that hour and then some to prepare everything. He was glad
that the guys did not have to leave until after noon to start their day.
They would have plenty of time to talk and enjoy a leisurely breakfast. He
was brought out of his trance by Brian coming into the kitchen. So much for
his idea of starting breakfast before Brian came in.

"Hey, whatcha doing?" Brian asked with a grin.

"I am starting breakfast, and you are going to lay the table," Keith said in
an ordering tone.

"Yes sir," Brian said as he straightened up and saluted Keith.

Keith froze in his place when he saw that. To him, Brian never looked cuter
and more appealing. He had always had a weakness for a guy in a military
uniform, and he just realized that Brian would make an absolute gorgeous
soldier. He quickly unfroze and turned his attention to the food. Brian
noticed this and smiled. He knew that he had an "effect" on Keith when he
did some stuff and did not want to embarrass Keith about it. 'Maybe later
when we have time to spare,' he thought as he started grabbing things for
the table.

After about twenty minutes the table was set and the food was coming along
nicely. There was a nice bright white table cover on the table. Keith loved
the color white to decorate with. So whenever there was something to buy for
table covers, linens or anything else, he was always drawn to the whites. He
thinks he got that from his mother, but was never sure. There were six place
settings with cloth napkins and silverware and crystal glasses at each place
setting. Keith wanted this to be a very special breakfast. It was his way of
thanking them for being such good friends and so understanding with his and
Brian's relationship.

The fragrance of the food started filling the kitchen and traveling to the
dining and living rooms. Brian heavily breathed in the aroma and smiled to
himself. He had always loved the aroma of food along with the actual food
itself. He made his way into the kitchen to see Keith not preparing one
dish, but three at the same time. He watched in amazement as he saw Keith
glide in the kitchen with ease. He smiled as he thought that his mom and
Keith would delightfully hit it off.

"Keith, is there anything else you need me to do?" Brian asked.

"Yes, if you could please get the milk and orange juice out and put them
into those two decanters, thanks," Keith replied without looking up from
what he was doing. It would have only led to disaster as he would have lost
his concentration.

Brian did as he was told. Once he had finished, he set both decanters back
into the fridge ready to be served when breakfast is ready. He went ahead
and set up the coffee maker to make about 12 cups. He thought that would be
enough to start with, besides they could always make more if need be. He
went ahead and took out the china coffee pot along with the cups and saucers
and put everything on the serving table. He then filled the sugar pot and
the cream dispenser and also set them on the serving table. He then thought
twice about it, and put the cream in the fridge besides the milk and juice.
Once he was satisfied with that, he looked once again at Keith. In the
minutes that Brian had spent getting those things, Keith was already done
with most of the food.

'Boy, he works fast,' Brian thought as he looked at Keith in amazement. He
had never seen a person work so fast in the kitchen, not even his mom.

In about another ten minutes Keith had totally finished with the food. He
looked at his work and smiled at his accomplishment. He looked up and saw
Brian smiling and staring at him in awe.

"Brian, close your mouth or a fly will go inside," Keith said as he giggled.
He had always been told that while he was growing up by the various nannies
that he had.

Brian quickly closed his mouth and looked at Keith with confusion. He had
never heard that before. He wondered how Keith came up with these neat
sayings. Then he remembered that Keith had not grown up in the United
States.

"Okay, I'm going to go and get freshened up now, the guys should be here
soon," Keith said as he passed Brian on his way out of the kitchen.

Brian saw Keith pass him and make his way into the bathroom. 'I am very
lucky to have him in my life,' he thought as he once again looked into the
kitchen. All the food was put inside the oven to keep warm. All the serving
dishes were lined up complete with an appropriate serving spoon or fork in
each dish. Brian was really impressed with what he saw. Not only did Keith
know how to cook, but he also knew how to present his culinary talent to
look it's most appeasing. He saw that the sink was full of dirty pots and
pans and various other things. He decided that he would clean up while he
waited for the guys to get here. He went and unlocked the front door so the
guys can let themselves in. Then he returned to the kitchen and started
cleaning the stuff in the sink.

Keith was giving himself a sponge bath to clean up. He was done after about
fifteen minutes. He gathered up his dirty clothes, and after giving the
bathroom one last look to make sure that it was okay incase the guys wanted
to use it, he opened the door and stepped out. On his way to the bedroom, he
heard Brian washing the dishes. 'That is really sweet of him,' he thought as
he entered the bedroom. He then opened the closet to decide what he could
wear with all the bandages on his body. He soon decided on an outfit and set
about getting ready.

That was easier said than done. Suddenly he felt his muscles hurt underneath
his bandages. The pain was so severe that he was momentarily paralyzed. He
barely made it to the bed and once there, he just dropped onto it. He could
not believe the pain. He had tears falling from his eyes. He just layed
there praying that the pain would stop.

Meanwhile in the kitchen, Brian was almost done with the dishes when he
heard the doorbell.

"Come on in, the door's open," Brian shouted at the door.

"Good morning Brian," A.J. said as he entered followed by the rest of the
guys.

"Good morning everyone," Brian said as he entered the foyer from the kitchen
wiping his hands with a dish towel.

Everyone said their pleasantries towards Brian as they passed him. They all
made their way into the living room and sat down. Nick was last to enter and
when he passed Brian, he gave him a strong hug.

"Nice to see you too Nick," Brian said as Nick ended the hug.

"Well, I just missed you that's all," Nick replied while snickering.

"I missed you too Nickie," Brian replied as he quickly hugged Nick again.

"Okay you too, break it up, Keith is going to walk in and get the wrong
idea," Howie said while laughing.

Brian and Nick separated and looked at Howie. Then they looked at each other
and shook their heads from side to side as to signify that they would never
be anything more than friends. Then they both laughed out loud while trying
to sit down in their seats.

"Speaking of Keith, where is he?" Kevin asked looking around.

"He's getting dressed for the day," Brian answered. "You guys should have
seen him this morning, he was like a person possessed cooking all the food,"
he continued as he told everyone about the morning.

Meanwhile in the bedroom, Keith was still laying on the bed. He still had to
been able to move from his original position. He had heard the doorbell and
Brian's yell for the guys to come inside. He heard them go into the living
room and could still hear them talking. He tried to pick up his arm and it
worked. Keith smiled and tried to sit up. Again it worked. 'I guess I just
overdid it a bit with all the cooking,' he thought as he stood up from the
bed and smiled. He got dressed in the clothes that he had picked out
earlier. Once he was done, he looked in the mirror one last time before
opening his door. He could hear the guys talking amongst themselves and
stepped outside the room. He walked down the hallway and entered the living
room.

"Good morning everyone," Keith said as he looked at everyone.

"Good morning," everyone replied at the same time.

Nick got up and hugged Keith. Keith was a little taken back but he did
return the hug warmly. "How are you this morning?" Nick asked as he ended
the hug and smiled. "I'm good," Keith replied with a huge smile.

"Are you guys hungry?" Keith asked enthusiastically. He was answered by an
equally in not more enthusiastic "yes" coming from all directions. "Well
then let's get this show on the road," Keith said as he got up and went into
the kitchen. Brian tagged along to help Keith.

Keith started to put all the food in their respective serving dishes. Brian
got the coffee, juice, milk and the cream for the coffee ready to be served.
Once everything was ready, Keith put all the food on the dining table. And
like a lost puppy, Brian followed him into the dining room with the stuff
that he had on the serving table.

Soon everyone had seated themselves around the table and looking at the
spread. Everyone's eyes lit up at the sight and fragrance of food. Once
Brian and Keith had been seated also, they all joined hands and said Grace.

Everyone started helping themselves. Keith looked from one person to another
to see their reactions. Everyone seemed to be enjoying the food by the
expressions on their faces. Soon all the food was gone, and everyone had a
satisfied expression on their faces. Everyone was sipping coffee as they
just sat back and relaxed.

A.J., Nick, and Howie got up to clear the table. Keith protested, but those
protests fell upon deaf ears. So finally, he gave up and let them clean up.
The three of them cleared the table in a matter of minutes and had the
dishwasher going soon after.

Once everything was clean, and the kitchen was spotless, the three of them
joined the rest of the guys in the living room. They were talking about the
upcoming time off that they had.

"Okay, now what do we do?" Nick asked in a hyper tone.

"What, Mr. Carter can't just sit and talk to his friends without actually
doing something?" Keith asked back in a calm tone.

"Don't do that, you make me sound too old to be in a band," Nick answered
while snickering.

"Got it," Keith replied while snickering also.

"Guys we have to leave for the venue in about half an hour," Kevin said in
his authoritative tone.

Everyone groaned. Kevin hated to the the one who always had to remind them
about the schedule that they needed to keep, but someone had to do it. Only
if, once in a while, someone spoke up, he wouldn't always be viewed as the
bad guy. 'That will never happen,' he thought as he smiled to himself.

"May I ask you guys for a favor?" Keith hesitantly asked.

"Sure," A.J. and Nick said simultaneously and then laughed at themselves.

"I want to go to your concert also. I have never seen you guys live," Keith
said shyly.

"Don't worry , we were planning to take you along even if you didn't want to
come," Kevin said laughing out loud.

"Thanks guys, this is going to be so much fun," Keith screeched out in his
best 'fan' voice.

"Okay, okay, calm down, we aren't leaving for another half an hour," Brian
said while making a show of trying to hold Keith down and prevent him from
getting too excited.

"Yippee, I get to see the backstreet boys in concert," Keith said in a hyper
tone while slightly jumping up and down. "Ouch" he shouted out as he grabbed
his shoulder.

Everyone stopped laughing at Keith's hyperness when they heard the pain in
his voice. Immediately, Brian was at his side along with concerned looks
form everyone.

"Babe, are you okay?" Brian asked with concern as he held Keith's hand.

"Yes I'm fine, I guess I shouldn't have been jumping up and down," Keith
said jokingly.

"No, I guess you shouldn't have been," Brian said in a scolding manner much
like a mother would do.

Keith pouted a little and looked at Brian with sad puppy dog eyes.

"No, that is not going to work, I told you to calm down," Brian said still
in a scolding tone.

Keith grabbed Brian's face and brought it forward. He kissed Brian right
smack on the lips. Brian's eyes shot open in surprise as Keith continued to
kiss him. Keith's tongue traced Brian's lips and tried to open Brian's lips
so that it could explore inside. But alas, Keith had to stop due to a strong
cough that he heard. He withdrew for Brian's lips and sat back in his chair.
He turned towards the guys and winked at them. They all sorted laughed at
what just happened.

Brian still sat there in a daze with his lips still pouting for more of the
kiss. "Ummm, what was I saying," Brian said confused at what just happened.

"You were just saying that how you liked the idea of me coming along to see
the concert," Keith tried to say with a straight face.

"You know you're sneaky," Brian said as he waved his fingers at Keith and
laughed at the same time.

Everyone laughed out loud, which caused Brian to blush. He gently got up and
sat with Keith on the chair. He gently massaged Keith's shoulder to relieve
some of the tension. Keith sighed as he leaned back onto Brian.

Everyone talked among themselves and basically left Brian and Keith onto
their own world. Keith knew that he was being a bad host, but these were the
guys and they would understand. They were brought out of their own little
world by the sound of Kevin's voice on his cell phone.

"Okay, everyone, the limo will be here in about five minutes," Kevin said as
he ended his call.

Everyone got up and started getting ready to leave for a 'night of fun'.
Actually the guys were looking forward to tonight. They had not performed in
a week, and needed to be on stage, as any performer can imagine.

Soon they were making their way downstairs. The limo arrived just as they
stepped into the lobby. In about three minutes, they were making their way
to the venue. Kevin took out a manilla envelope and handed it to Keith.
Keith looked at him with a questioning look.

"Look inside," was all he said.

Keith opened the envelope and took out the contents. There was a front-row
ticket and an all-access pass with a string attached to it that went around
in a circle.

"Neat," Keith said as he pocketed both the items.

"No, wear the pass so that you can come with us as we go inside," Brian said
stopping him.

"Okay," Keith said as he slid the pass around his neck.

By now, they had arrived at the venue. There was already a line of the fans
outside, and the concert was not for another six hours. The fans started
screaming just at the limo came to a stop. The guys stepped out of the limo
one at a time and the screaming increased in volume, if that was possible.
There were cameras flashing in all directions as the guys stood there for a
minute so that everyone had a chance to take a picture.

That one minute turned into five minutes. Finally, much to the
disappointment of the fans, the guys made their way inside along with Keith.
The fans would get over their disappointment since they would see their
favorite group in concert.

The next eight hours went by in a blur for Keith. There was so much going on
all the time that he did not have any time to spend with Brian alone. The
concert had just finished minutes ago and Keith was waiting for the guys in
their dressing room. He could not wait to see Brian upclose so he could give
him a kiss.

Just then the guys made their way into the dressing room. They were so hyped
up that even the tiring concert did not have any effect on them. They came
in and sat down on the couches in the middle of the room. Brian sat down
next to Keith who smiled brightly at him.

"How did you like it?" Brian asked with his trademark smile.

Keith leaned forward and kissed him as a reply. This time Brian opened his
mouth right away and got into the kiss. Keith ended the kiss after a while
and leaned back on the couch.

"I take it that you enjoyed the concert," Nick said while snickering.

"It was awesome, it was fantastic, it was out of this world, it was too much
to describe with mere words," Keith said with a smile.

"Wow! I don't think that we have ever gotten a compliment quite like that in
all the time we have been together," A.J. said as he smiled at Keith.
Similar sentiments were expressed by the rest of them.

"All right guys, lets get going," Kevin said after about twenty minutes.

"What are you guys going to do about dinner?" Keith asked as everyone got up
to get their stuff together.

"I am not in the mood to go out tonight," Nick said.

"Yeah, me neither," Kevin said.

"Okay, lets just order room service and relax," Brian said.

Keith had packed an overnight bag for himself so that he could spend the
night at the hotel also. He wanted to be there to say goodbye to the guys
before they each went their separate ways. He was getting misty eyes just
thinking about it. Over this past week, he had become so close to each of
them that he did not know how he was going to say goodbye, even if it was
only for a short time.

"Keith, did you like Brian's present?" Howie asked.

Howie was referring to the song that Brian had dedicated to Keith during the
concert. It was 'I'll Never Break Your Heart', and Keith had melted inside
and outside when he heard the dedication that Brian had made to him.

"Yes, it was very sweet, thanks Brian," Keith said while blushing.

"Isn't that cute," A.J. said while laughing when he noticed that Brian was
blushing too.

"I'm going to get both of you one of these days," Brian said in his mock
angry voice. Everyone could tell that he was not really upset by looking at
the sparkle in his eyes.

"Well, I for one am glad that you did it. The only thing was that while you
were looking at me, the girl sitting next to me thought that you were saying
those things to her and she started screaming and screeching like she was
having a heart attack," Keith explained as he could hardly hold in his
laughter.

Everyone laughed hard at that. They all had similar stories that they could
tell about the crazy fans that they encountered at every concert.

By now, everyone had made it safely inside the limo, despite the occasional
fan hounding them. They were on their way to the hotel to relax and
recuperate.

If it were only that simple..............
