Subject: The Daemon Gate Chapter One
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
First things first, if you don't like stories with homosexual content, leave
now! (How did you get here in the first place?) Okay now! We have a new
title, a new location and new characters! That means a new cast! That means
a new disclaimer too! Yippee! (well not really, since I probably won't
change it until after two or three chapters) Well, for those who didn't read
(if that is possible) the first 15 chapters, read it for background
information. For those who did read the first 15 chatpers, throw your
information out the window, everything's changed now. As usual, if you're
under 18, you should go "Bye Bye Bye"(Nsync!) b-coz you can't "Change the
World"(Westlife!), so "Don't Go Knocking on my Door" (Britney!) because I
didn't make the rules, clear? This is for 18 and above only and "No One Else
Comes Close" (Backstreet Boys!). Yes, some of the people in the brackets are
our stars of the story now! (Sorry, I'm in a really crazy mood because I now
have holidays and don't have to teach seven and eight year-old kids
anymore!!!) This story does not imply anything about the sexualities of the
above mentioned people, and I do not claim to know them in person.
Ficational characters from books, movies and tv shows are copyrighted to
their authors, creators, publishers, companies and whatever and whoever they
were taken from. Special thanks to Rune, Aeoros, Aphrodite, Transformr,
Lancefan and my friends David, Jimmy, Faith and PJ for allowing me to put
them into the story, even though their characteristics in the story may not
be their real characteristics, so just because one of them might be mean
doesn't mean that they are really mean in real life, so there! Thanks to
David from Nifty for allowing me to put my story on his wonderful website!

|The Daemon Gate - Chapter One|
Justin stepped out of the nightclub with Joey, Lance, Brian, Kevin and Nick.
The six guys had been in the nightclub having fun. Or at least most of them
were having fun. Justin and Brian had hardly stepped on the dance floor at
all. Brian had been sitting by himself, sadly thinking of Lalaith. He was
certain that Lalaith, his wife, was still alive, but he did not know how to
look for her. The others passed it off as denial and just pretended to agree
that their old friends were still alive, though it could not have been
possible. After searching through the changed spellbook, AJ had discovered
that the war that they had participated in occured in 50 a.d, according to
the book. Which made it impossible to believe that Estel, Lalaith, Stile,
Alegifu, Larel and Gil were still alive after almost two thousand years. But
Brian kept insisting until Kevin told him to stop deluding himself, and so
Brian had stopped talking about it, but he did not stop thinking about it.
Justin just moped that the love of his life had died a long time ago. He did
not believe Brian's claims and had accepted that Estel was long dead. So
Justin just mourned, which was why the others brought him and Brian to the
nightclub, so that they would get over the past.
As the six popsters headed down the dark street back to their hotel, they
happened to pass a dark alley. They were not afraid of being mugged,
however. Fighting twelve foot giants had considerably lessened their fear of
the common thug. Suddenly, a loud yell of someone in pain caught their
attention. Justin mentally summoned his prized Starswords to his hands,
while Lance drew out a sword and shield from the two extradimensional
portals given to him by Paxon centuries ago. AJ and Chris had given their
extradimensional portals to Nick and Joey, while JC kept his as souveniers
and for packing extra clothes into his suitcases whenever they had to fly.
As soon as the six men were armed, (Nick had inherited JC's raztars and
Brian got AJ's sword and shield) they headed into the dark alley to search
out the source of the sound. Another yell of agony ensued from the pitch
dark alley. The six men edged cautiously into the darkness. A loud, racking
cough could be heard from where they stood. Brian uttered a few words and a
dim light appeared in front of them. On the ground lay a man, all dressed in
black. He was thin and ragged and his face was pale and he was sweating.
Blood flecked his bluish lips as he coughed. His eyes were pale, making him
look partially blind. Untidy locks of black hair covered part of his face.
He coughed violently once again.
"There now, it will all be over soon," a voice from the shadows spoke. The
man on the floor groaned and stirred, trying to stand. Justin looked closely
at the man, recognising instantly who it was.
"Stile!" Justin cried, rushing to the elf's side. He cradled his friend,
brushing back the hair that hid his pointed ears. Stile looked up at Justin,
his eyes showing a hint of grey in the centre where used to be shiny black
pupils. He opened his mouth and coughed again, blood dripping onto Justin's
blue shirt.
"Who's there?" the voice from the shadows asked Justin. Justin was about to
reply when Stile drew in a great deep breath and let it out again with a
loud scream. A white light surrounded Stile, lighting the shadows. The light
illuminated the area where the voice had come from and Justin noticed a man
standing there, looking almost like stile except that his hair was short and
tidy, his face was slightly tanned and he had rounded ears. Part of the
light floated his direction, landed on his face and went out with a soft
popping noise. The rest of the light floated for awhile before intensifying
in brightness. The man in black and the six popsters shielded their eyes
from the brightness. The bright light headed towards the man in black and
surrounded him, before it was abosorbed into him. The man shook his head
slightly, as though clearing it of sleep. He looked at Justin for a moment,
then he opened his mouth and hissed, fangs bared at Justin.
"T-take care o-of Es-Estel," Stile stuttered softly, then closed his eyes
and slumped back on the ground. Justin looked at the man in the shadows
angrily.
"You killed him!" Justin shouted. The man looked at Justin fiercely and
raised his hands. Seeing his gesture, Brian, Kevin, Lance, Joey and Nick
rushed in to rescue Justin. The man's hand wavered for a moment, then he
made a gesture with it. The six heroes of a long ago war suddenly found
themselves trapped in sticky web, preventing them from moving. Kevin tried
to yell a threat at the man but when he opened his mouth, he found that he
could not speak. He quickly glanced at his friends. Brian and Justin were
screaming their heads off, but not a sound came from their mouths. Nick was
also trying to speak while Lance and Joey just struggled to free themselves
from the webs.
"Is it over?" another voice asked. The man nodded slowly. Another figure
emerged from the shadows, the owner of the second voice. The second man was
slender but muscular, and walked with a certain grace in his steps. His
golden hair shone in Brian's magical light, his crystal blue eyes looking
sad. He walked towards Stile and bent down on one knee. He held Stile's body
close to his own.
"Rest in peace, brother," he said softly. A warm, glowing pink light
surrounded Stile's body and the body dissipated. The blonde man stood, tears
in his eyes. He looked up and noticed the six men trapped in the webs.
"Who are these?" he asked, turning to the man in black.
"They are Justin, Joey and Lance from Nsync, and Brian, Nick and Kevin from
the Backstreet Boys," the man replied, looking at the group. "They tried to
interfere so I stopped them."
The blonde man nodded and waved his hand. The group immediately found
themselves free from their webbed prisons and their voices were freed.
Justin looked closely at the blonde haired man.
"Estel!" he gasped, running to his lover. He hugged the stunned Estel
tightly and gave him a passionate kiss on the lips. He released himself from
the stunned Estel and stepped back. Estel glanced at the other man, a look
of shock, uncertainty and a little bit of shame.
"It's not what you think, Mark," Estel said lamely as Mark glanced at Estel
with an amused look on his face.
"So you have a lover that you didn't tell me about?" Mark said quietly. "How
long has this been going on?"
"No, Mark, it's not what you think!" Estel argued back, his face reddening.
Justin felt a bit hurt at Estel's remark.
"What do you mean, 'it's not what you think'?" Justin asked angrily, looking
Estel in the eye. "Do all the things that happened before mean nothing to
you?"
"Things?" Mark asked slowly, a look of pain in his eyes. He looked at Estel
again and turned, running into the shadows.
"Mark, wait!" Estel called, running towards Mark. He stopped, turned to look
at Justin with anger in his eyes.
"Look what you've done," he hissed. "Go back to your hotel room while I try
to fix things up. You five go to Justin's room and stay there until I come.
Go!"
Estel faded into the shadows, leaving the six men confused as to what was
going on. After two minutes of staring at each other with shock, they
finally made their way back to the hotel into Justin's room.
Estel followed after Mark, rushing through the darkness. He did not find it
dark, however, and could see it clearly as though it were noon. He soon
caught up with the fleeing Mark and grabbed his arm.
"Let me go!" Mark hissed, trying to wrench his arm free of Estel's strong
grip. "How could you?!"
"Wait, Mark," Estel said. "Listen to me. Justin was an old flame of mine,
he's nothing to me now."
"Oh yeah? How old is old?" Mark said sarcastically. "He's only nineteen, you
can't have been in love with him more than five years ago!"
"Actually, it was exactly a thousand and nine hundred and fifty years ago,"
Estel said. "He was there with a time-travel spell."
"Yeah, right," Mark said angrily. "Next, you're gonna tell me that he was
one of the heroes of Nirnaeth Arnodied!"
"He is," Estel said. "I'm telling you the truth!"
"And how can I be so sure?"
Estel reached down into Mark's shirt and drew out a chain with a
heart-shaped sapphire the size of a button from it. Estel held the gem in
his palm and closed his eyes. Mark closed his eyes as well, two small tears
rolling down his cheeks. Estel opened his eyes again and hugged Mark.
"Do you believe me now?" Estel whispered, hugging Mark close to him. Mark
sniffed and nodded, hugging Estel back. Estel smiled and wiped the tears
from Mark's cheeks and kissed him lightly on the lips.
"Now let's go and meet the guys you webbed earlier on," Estel said, smiling
at Mark.
"You really want to talk to Justin, huh?" Mark said sadly. Estel sighed and
touched Mark's pointed chin. He shook his head to show Mark that that was
not why he wanted to go to meet the guys.
"Then why?" Mark asked.
"I want to have a word with my brother-in-law," Estel smiled. Mark's look of
confusion was so comical that Estel laughed for a while before holding
Mark's hand. He uttered a few words and brought up a mental picture of Brian
before the two disappeared.
Brian was startled when Estel and Mark suddenly appeared next to him in
Justin's room. There was no flash of light or anything to mark their
arrival, so Brian had to capture the attention of the other five guys that
had been with him in the alley.
"Hey, look who's here!" Brian said cheerily. He got up and hugged Estel.
"How's my favourite brother-in-law?"
"I'm your only brother-in-law," Estel said, hugging Brian back.
"No you're not, what about Gil and Larel?" Brian asked, surprised. Estel
lowered his head sadly and said, "Gil died fighting a ninety-foot black
dragon and Larel was killed later during the Alliance Wars. But both of
those happened a long time ago and we've moved on from there."
"So what happened there with Stile, and why are you so friendly with Stile's
killer?" Justin asked coldly. Mark growled angrily at Justin, his turquoise
eyes filled with anger at Justin's cold behaviour.
"Mark didn't kill Stile," Estel said, putting his arm defensively around
Mark's shoulders. "Stile died from Elfbane."
"Then what was that light that seemed to attack Mark?" Justin asked,
refusing to admit that he was wrong.
"Oh, that was just Stile's Lythari powers being transfered to Mark," Estel
explained. "The Lythari transfer their power to the nearest person around
when they die, giving that person the Lythari gift. And in the cases of
half-faeries, they also gain the agelessness of the faeries."
"But I was cradling Stile as he died, and he told me to look after you,"
Justin argued.
"Stile's powers would have headed to the nearest person when he died," Estel
said. "But Mark overpowered you, since he is half-faerie."
"And what did Stile mean when he told me to look after you?" Justin said,
tears forming in his eyes.
"Actually, that message was for me," Mark said, smirking at Justin who
ignored him.
"And why you?" Justin snarled. Lance walked up to Justin and placed a hand
on Justin's shoulder to comfort him, but Justin shrugged it off angrily.
"What allows you to come between me and my boyfriend?"
"Your boyfriend?!" Mark snarled. "A long time ago, maybe."
"Justin, things have changed," Estel said. "It's been almost two thousand
years since I last saw you, and I have changed as well."
"Then Mark is your new boyfriend now?" Justin asked, his heart feeling like
a knife was stabbing through it.
"No," Estel said. Justin's heart eased some of its pain until he heard
Estel's next words. "He's my husband, Justin. Mark and I have been married
almost three years now."
"Prove it," Justin said weakly, suddenly feeling faint. Estel and Mark both
withdrew the chains from around their necks, revealing the heart-shaped
sapphires.
"Heartspeakers," Brian gasped. Justin felt his heart shatter into a thousand
pieces.
"Get out of my room," he said, pointing towards the door. "All of you!"
"Justin..." Joey began when Justin gave him a glare that would have killed
him a thousand times over if looks could kill. Joey took a fearful step
backwards.
"Justin..." Lance placed his hand on Justin's shoulder again, but Justin
whirled around and punched Lance's chest as hard as he could. The other
blonde fell backwards, clutching his chest in pain.
"GET OUT!" Justin shouted again, and this time everyone complied. Estel and
Mark disappeared, while Kevin, Nick, Joey, Lance and Brian rushed out of
Justin's room as quickly as possible. Justin slumped down on his bed and
cried his heart out as soon as everyone had left. He cried until sunlight
streamed into his room via the balcony, and still he cried tearlessly. He
felt lost and heartbroken, refusing to see the situation from Estel's point
of view. By noon, Justin had fallen asleep, exhausted by his display of
self-pity.
Brian, Kevin, Lance, Nick and Joey all met in Brian's room, awaiting the
arrival of Estel and a 'few others' as Estel had said. Brian sat on the edge
of his bed in anticipation, hoping that his wife had not found someone new
like Estel had. Though part of him wanted to scream at his brother-in-law,
he could understand that very few people could wait for almost 2000 years
for their lover to be born. Lance and Joey were playing cards, a game which
they called h2o, while Nick watched because he had already won and was
waiting to see who would come in second place. Kevin was reading a Lime
magazine from Singapore. It featured Nsync on the cover page, and had
articles that covered the much publicised 'battle of the boybands'. Kevin
snorted derisively at the poorly written article and closed the magazine. He
stood up and stretched, loosening his stiff joints.
"When did they say they would be coming?" Kevin asked, heading towards the
toilet. Brian glanced at his watch.
"They're about thirty seconds," he said, looking at Kevin.
"Really?" Estel said from behind Brian. "My watch says I'm about five
minutes early."
The five boys jumped in shock as Estel's arrival had gone unnoticed. Brian
turned behind him and found Estel, Mark, Lalaith and a raven-haired woman
that looked strangely familiar. He grinned a goofy grin at Lalaith and
rushed towards her, hugging her tightly. While the couple embraced, Estel
stepped forward with Mark and the woman. Joey stared at the woman again,
wondering when he had seen her.
"Anne?" he asked. "Alegifu?"
Alegifu grinned and giggled. Joey grinned back.
"You were the one that sold us the spellbook that brought us back in time!"
he accused, pointing his finger at the still-grinning Alegifu.
"Time loop," Alegifu explained. "You were meant to get the spellbook, but
the only way you could get the spellbook is for it to actually have been
written. And since Justin is the spellbook's writer, he'd have to come back
in time to write the spellbook so that in the future, you guys would have to
come back in time."
"Huh?" Nick asked, dizzy from the confusing and contradictory information.
Kevin grinned and whacked Nick's head.
"Hey there," Lance greeted Estel with a smile and a handshake. Estel shook
Lance's hand and looked around the room.
"Where's JC, Chris, Howie and AJ?" Estel asked, still looking around the
room. "And where's Justin?"
"JC and Chris are at the studio recording some vocals," Lance said. "Howie
and AJ are on holiday in Los Angeles. Don't ask me why they're there,
though."
"Hmm..." Estel nodded solemnly. "I guess we could do it with just eight of
you."
"Do what?" Lance asked worriedly. "Is there something wrong with the world
again?"
"Yeah," Estel said. "I'll explain as soon as everyone is done getting
re-acquainted with each other."
Mark smiled and shook Lance's hand, smiling like a little kid getting to
meet his favourite hero. Lance looked Mark over closely.
"Have I seen you somewhere before?" Lance asked.
"Maybe," Mark replied. "I'm Mark Feehily from the Irish boyband Westlife."
"Westlife," Lance nodded knowingly. "No wonder you look familiar. You're not
very big here yet, right?"
"Yup," Mark replied. "You are one of my greatest heroes!"
"Really?" Lance asked. "You like my singing? It definately can't be my
dancing."
"Actually, no," Mark replied. "Estel told me stories of Nirnaeth Arnodied,
and he told me the names of the ten human heroes of that war. I only
realised last night that Justin the hero was the same as Justin of Nsync, so
you must be the fighter-thief Lance."
Lance blushed. "I wasn't as great as they claimed, I was a nobody."
"That's strange, because you are pretty well-known to the faerie," Mark
gushed. "You were the one with faerie blood in you, just like me."
"They said I have faerie blood?" Lance was surprised. "That's new to me."
Everyone continued with their smalltalk for another half an hour, until a
knock on the door stopped them. Brian opened the door cautiously to find
Justin standing there.
"Hey Justin," Brian said, opening the door wider to let the boy in. "Come
join us, we're just talking."
Justin grunted a reply and stepped into the room while Brian closed the door
behind him. When Justin noticed that Estel and Mark were in the room as
well, the pain that he thought was over re-emerged, though not as painful as
before. He took a deep breath and tried to supress the pain of seeing his
ex-boyfriend with someone else. He forced a fake smile and asked, "What's
up?"
"Hey, Justin," Lance replied. "You feeling better?"
Justin nodded slowly, keeping his fake smile plastered on his face. He
glanced around the room for something to eat, but there was nothing except a
bag of chips. He reached for the chips and opened the bag.
"So, Estel," Lance said. "You gonna tell us what you came here to tell us?"
Estel smiled and cleared his throat. "Well, where should I start?"
"At the beginning," Mark said sarcastically.
"That was a rhetorical question," Estel pouted. "Well, let's see. After
Nirnaeth Arnodied, the Faeries decided to leave the realm of men and return
to our old homeland of Faery and reclaim it from the demons that chased us
out. So we began a trek westwards towards the entrance portal of Faery.
There were two portals in Faery, one in the south and the other in the
north. The southern portal was the entrance to Faery and the northern portal
was the exit. So the Faeries trekked westwards towards the place now known
as Stonehenge in England, and invoked the magic there and returned to
Faerie. The Faeries of Greece were not the only Faeries that had trekked
back to Stonehenge to enter Faery. We met our cousins that had lived in
other countries like what is now Germany, China and even Africa. Billions of
Faeries crowded the entrance to Faery, and we knew that we had the numbers
to finally battle the demons that chased us out."
"What happened then?" Justin asked.
"Ready for battle, the united armies of Faeries entered the portal, only to
find Faery empty and deserted. The demons that had chased us out had left.
Instead of a war, we found ourselves rebuilding the glorious cities that
scattered Faery. After rebuilding the different cities, the Faeries split
themselves up. We also invited the Dark Faeries to return home to Faery,
since they were also chased out with us. We split ourselves into different
kingdoms. Now, Faery is not like the current world. It is flat and in the
shape of a large diamond. There are continents surrounding the entire world
with two large oceans, seperated by an island called Irrybis. The island is
where the town of Arborlon was built, with two causeways connecting East
Faery to West Faery and seperating the North Nimbrethil from South
Nimbrethil. Nimbrethil is the name of the two oceans. There are unclimbable
mountain ranges towards the edges, and if someone were to actually manage to
climb one of the mountains, they'd drop into the Daemon world."
"What's the Daemon world?" Nick interrupted.
"I'll get to that," Estel said. "One day, the central city of Arborlon found
kenders flooding the city in their hundreds. All of them claimed that the
western kender town of Irritaria was being attacked by monsters and demons.
We didn't believe them."
"Knowing kenders, no one would," Justin observed. "Everyone would just pass
it off as a large-scale kender hoax to promote their acting and
story-telling skills."
"Exactly," Estel agreed. "The kenders found that no one would listen to
their claims, so they moved east and were never heard from again. Then one
night, a centaur runner from the eastern plains of Allansia came bearing
news of war. He was arrested by officials as soon as his story was heard,
since he was known to be an infamous con-man. Obviously, no one believed his
claims. Other strange incidents happened after that as well. Two days after
the centaur was arrested, a wounded sprite with only three wings fluttered
to the south gate of Arborlon and collapsed. He related a message that
Willowbend, the home of the little Faeries, was under attack. Unfortunately,
the message was passed to a group of seven year-old irda. They related the
sprite's message but were not believed by most. Some of us began to wonder
at the coincidences, so we sent owls and eagles to pass messages to the
other towns to clarify. We waited for two weeks before we got our first
reply. The owl returned, singed and dying. We found a partially burnt note
tied to its feet, and we read that Tribus, the red-eye city, was attacked.
The note also told us to flee Faery."
"And did the Faeries flee?" Kevin asked. Estel shook his head sadly.
"So what happened?" Brian asked, clasping Lalaith's hand.
"We decided to send out messages to the other cities again, hoping for
refugees or survivors," Alegifu continued, giving Estel a break from
relating the history of the Faeries. "We waited for a few more weeks, then
began to pack. There was nothing from any town, not even the Dark Faerie
towns. The day we were about to leave, a large horde of Dark Faeries arrived
at the western gate. We made a temporary truce to be allies as long as we
were still in Faery. We prepared to leave through secret underground tunnels
that led to the dark-elven city of Tiranduil Kelthas. We had no idea how we
were going to see in the darkness, and then how to cross the ocean and reach
the top of the mountains to exit the portal. Before we could properly plan
things, we were attacked by millions of daemons and other legions of demonic
creatures. Desperate, the Faeries and Dark Faeries began to cast a terrible
spell that had dangerous results. The combined magic of both Light and Dark
shattered the magical Weave that was already damaged since your arrival to
our time. The Weave shredded with good and bad results. Both the Faeries and
Dark Faeries were changed immediately. Both gained wings, the Faeries the
angellic wings of the fairies and the Dark Faeries gained the bat-like wings
of the urds. Both gained the infravision of the red-eyes and flinds, and the
night vision of the dark-elves and orcs. The Faeries gained the elven
ability to climb any surface and the increased irda strength in magic as
well as their dexterity. The Dark Faeries gained the the strength of the
trolls, which made them even stronger than us, but still not as dexterous.
Their magic was also enhanced. They were given to power to sense spirits to
make up for their lack of climbing walls."
"Wow, it's like some sort of melding, right?" Nick asked, awed. The other's
rolled their eyes at Nick's slow thinking.
Alegifu continued explaining the melding. "We also got the ability to
breathe sea water, just like the sea-elves and the sea-trolls. The power to
breathe fresh water came from the nixies and river-trolls. The ability to
camouflage with our surroundings was inherited from the pixies and xvarts.
Also, from then on, the fifteen spheres of magic collapsed, the boundaries
broken. New boundaries were set up, defining the magical abilities of the
two new races. We changed the names of our races to suit the melding, and
thus the the Sithi and Malenti were created. The sithi were given the powers
of magic in the areas of Earth, Fire, Water, Air, Life, Plants, Animals and
Illusion. The malenti were given the powers of Conjuration, Chaos, War,
Necromancy, Death, Divination, Summoning and Darkness."
"What's the difference between Summoning and Conjuration?" Justin asked,
trying to remember all that he had learnt as a mage and later a Bladesinger.
"Aren't they the same?"
"No," Estel explained. "Conjuration is the summoning of non-living things,
like weapons and armour, while Summoning is the summoning of the four types
of evil elemental spirits: the wurms, the salamanders, the sea serpents and
the dragonsnakes. The four good elemental spirits that the sithi can summon
are the dryads, the nymphs, the nereids and the sylphs. There are also the
two spiritual spirits of good and evil, the sirines and the imps."
"So how did you leave Faery?" Brian asked.
"We used our new powers," Lalaith said. "We used night vision for the
underground tunnels, the infravision and water breathing for the ocean..."
"Why infravision?" Kevin interrupted. "Sorry."
"The infravision was to allow us to see heat patterns so that we could avoid
the daemons," Lalaith explained before continuing. "We used the blending
powers the entire journey, and used our new wings to fly up to the top of
the mountains and out of Faery. We had left just in time, for the daemons
destroyed Faery, further wrecking the Weave. The remnants of the Weave
spilled out of the portal and were absorbed into the people who lived just
outside the portal of Faerie, the Irish Celts. From that day onwards, all
Irish people have had Faerie blood in them."
"Then what about Stile?" Justin asked. "Why wasn't he changed into a sithi
as well? And if you have wings, how do you hide them?"
"Stile was not in Faery at the time of the spell, and was unaffected," Estel
said. "And our wings meld into our bodies when we don't need them."
"Okay, to bring things back on track, what do you want from us?" Lance
asked. ("One-track mind," Justin complained to Kevin.)
"The Daemon world has five gates into the main world," Estel said. "Four of
them are being guarded, but the fifth and most powerful as just been
discovered. Our mission is to destroy the fifth gate. The destruction of the
fifth gate will set of a chain reaction that will in turn destroy the other
four gates."
"And where is this fifth gate?" Lance asked.
"Singapore," Estel said. "One of the smallest countries in the world with
people so materialistic that they can't even sense the subtle presence of
the Gate."
"Why couldn't they pick a place a little less humid?" Mark complained. "It
was terrible weather when I was last there...rained for hours and when it
stopped, the temperature was thirty-five degrees celcius with a humidity of
a hundred percent."
"Looks like you can't handle it, Mark," Justin taunted, getting a cold look
from Mark. "When do we leave?"
"Soon," Estel said. "We have to be there by tomorrow, and we have to pick up
a few other people as well."
As though on cue, a girl with honey blonde hair appeared in the room.
"Am I too late?" she asked, glancing at Estel. He looked at his watch and
shook his head.
"Right on time, Britney," Estel said. "Next stop is to collect Susan, then
we go to Canada to get Peter, Jason and Denny."
"How about Neto and Steve?" Britney questioned. "How are we going to get
them?"
"I'm going to Mexico to get Neto," Alegifu said. "Lalaith and Brian are
going to Hawaii to get Steve. We're all going to meet with you, Faith, Jimmy
and David in Singapore, since they're there already."
"Okay, then, let's go!" Britney said, looking around the room. "Oh, hi
Justin! I'll see you in Singapore."
With that, she disappeared into thin air. Alegifu grabbed Kevin's hand and
disappeared into thin air as well. Lalaith disappeared with Brian.
"We have four people to collect," Mark said. "This isn't exactly
teleportation, and it takes a while. What say you take Justin and Joey to
get Susan and Jason, and I'll bring Nick and Lance to get Peter and Denny?
It will save time."
"Okay," Estel agreed, taking Justin's and Joey's hands. "I'll see you in
Singapore!"
He disappeared into the air as well with Justin and Joey in tow. Mark, Nick
and Lance were about to disappear as well when a loud knock sounded from the
door.
"Open up!" a voice called from outside. Mark's eyes widened in fear. He
quickly tried to summon up the magic to transform themselves into masses of
air, but his concentration was lost as the door exploded open with a bright
flash of light.
