Subject: Fate Will Gather Us Together: Chapter Six

Author's note: Hi people! This is the chapter six... finally! I know... it's
late and believe me, I hate to post my chapters so late! I said I'd post it
for Monday 18th... well I was too optimistic... I'm very sorry guys.
Thanks to everyone who read my story, and another thank to all people who
send me feedback in addition! I'm so glad! You guys are the best!
I know that it's supposed to be 'bring us together'. But, oh well... as long
as people know what that means, this isn't really important, right?

You know that thing: I don't know any of the BSB, Backstreet Band, Firm...
and I don't know their sexuality and yadi yadi yada.... Don't read if you

The guys were all looking at Gene as he was playing the last songs of his
rehearse. Nick was very proud of him. He played very good. There was only
another one person he knew who could played like that... Brian.
Nick looked at him and saw that he was looking at Gene, smiling a little.

"Good... he seems to have accept him." He thought, smiling. He walked toward
him, never stopping smiling.

"Brian?" he said. Brian didn't answer and continued to look at Gene.

"Yo! Brian!" he said again. Brian was still didn't answering. Nick frowned,
put his hand on his shoulder and shook him lightly.

"Uh?" said Brian as he woke up from his dream. He looked at Nick, a bit
confused. "What's happen, Nick?"

"Nothing..." said Nick "I was just thinking that you like to have accept
him."

"Yes..." said Brian as restarted to look at Gene. "I don't know why I
couldn't... we talked a bit and he seems to be very kind... plus, he's very
talented."

"Yeah, that's right." Said Nick as he looked at his brother. He was starting
to play another song. Then, he remembered something.

"Hey! Brian!" he said. Once again, Brian didn't respond. Nick rolled his
eyes and shook him again.

"What?" he said, a bit annoyed. Nick looked at him, surprised by his
reaction. Then Brian remembered what he said.

"Oh... sorry, Nick... I didn't know it was you." He said. Nick just smiled.

"It's okay, Brian... I wanted to know why you didn't come to my room last
night, like I told you." He said.

"Oh... I'm sorry, Nick... But I was very tired; all this stuff was really
annoying... But now, I finished this stuff so I restarted from the start...
as if I never married anyone!" he said, smiling.

"I'm glad this shit is over." Said Nick, smiling "But don't worry, Gene was
with me last night."

Brian nodded as he restarted to watch Gene. Nick turned away and couldn't
help but giggled.

"Maybe it'll be our turn, Brian." He thought. Then his smile faded. He
didn't know if Brian is bi or gay. So, he couldn't already thought about
something between him and Brian.

"Oh well... I can dream." He thought.

"Okay, guys, let's do it!" said Mark as he started to play drums. They were
now rehearsing with the group. Gene played on his guitar and couldn't help
but to smile as he looked at his brother dancing and singing. Then, his look
fell on Brian. His voice was very soft and he was a good dancer. Sometimes,
he coughed him looking at him. His bright blue eyes, nice short light brown
hair, and his cute smile...

"He looked so much like..." he thought, smiling. His smile immediately faded
as he found an answer.

"Jeff..."

Suddenly, the lights shined strongly on him, causing him to slip on his
guitar and sank on his knees. Everyone looked at him, surprised.

"Gene!" said Nick as he walked toward him. "Are you okay?"

Gene had a grimace on his face and shook his head 'no'.

"Come on..." said Nick as he and Brian helped him to go to the bathroom.

The others looked at each other.

"It's strange..." said Fred "He was totally fine earlier."

"Perhaps he hurt himself with the guitar." Said Denis.

"How can you hurt yourself with a guitar?" said Mark, hardly believing that.

"Guys!" said AJ "Don't worry... perhaps he wasn't feeling too well, but
he'll be fine after... you know, he was just above the high spot light... it
can be dangerous if you stay here way too long."

"Yeah... I think you're right AJ." Said Kevin "Let's just wait..."

In the bathroom...

Gene put water in his hands and splashed himself.

"You're okay, now?" asked Nick, worried.

"Yeah, bro, don't worry... it's nothing." He said, smiling.

"Nick, go to the guys, and tell that Gene is okay." Said Brian "I'll help
him."

Nick looked at Gene and then at Brian.

"Okay." He said as he started to walk out of the room. "Call if anything
happen!"

"I will, don't worry." Said Brian. He then looked at Gene.

"You're really feeling better?" he asked

"Yes." Said Gene "I supposed I was too hot..."

"Yes, you are..." thought Brian as he looked at Gene's angelic face. He was
as beautiful as Nick... beautiful blue eyes, beautiful short blond hair...

"Brian?" said Gene, noticing that Brian was looking at him. Brian shook
himself, looked at him and smiled.

"I was just wondering if there was anything on your mind..." he lied. He
then noticed the sad look on Gene's face. "What's wrong?"

"Well... for telling you the truth, I was thinking at my first and only real
love that I lost a few years ago." He said looking at his feet.

"Oh god... I didn't know, I'm so sorry..." said Brian, compassing. "You
really loved her, uh?"

"Uh..." said Gene "I supposed I have to tell you something, since Nick
already knows it and that you're his best friend..."

"You don't want him to tell me?" said Brian, smiling. "Good boy."

Gene giggled a little. Brian was smiling, glad that he made him laugh. Then
Gene's face became serious.

"But you have to promise me that you'll never tell anyone... Nick told me
that you have a very opened mind, so I don't think you'll have a problem to
accept and understand..." he said.

"Don't worry, I'll said nothing." Said Brian.

"Okay." Said Gene. He took a big breath and said:
"My first real love was a guy... Brian, I'm bi."

Brian looked at him, surprised, blinking several times.

"You're... bi?" he said.

"Uh, yes." Said Gene, looking shyly in Brian's eyes. He didn't see any hate
or disgust. He even saw Brian smiling.

"Of course, I'm okay!" said Brian. "For a second, I thought it was a
terrible secret... like you have killed someone."

Gene giggled and shook his head.

"No, no... Nothing like that." He said, smiling "So... you're really okay
with that?"

"Yep!" said Brian, smiling "And I won't tell anyone except if you want me
too."

Gene smiled and pulled Brian in a hug.

"Thanks... Nick was right. You're wonderful." He said. Brian hugged him
back, put his head and closed his eyes, smiling.

"So are you..." he whispered. They broke the hug and smiled, looking in each
other eyes. They get lost in them until they heard someone calling them from
outside.

"BRIAN! GENE! WE MUST RESTART!" It was Nick's voice.

"COMING!" said Gene. He then looked at Brian.
"Well... here we go!" he said, smiling. Brian smiled too and exited the
bathroom.

"Whoa! Gene is bi... Yes!" said Brian, smiling as they walked toward the
scene.

Except for what happen earlier, the rehearse went without problems.
According one of the technicians, there was a problem with one of the
consoles which adjust the lights... but how, he didn't know.

"Don't worry." He said "It's fix, now."

"Thanks." Said Kevin "We really don't need this problem one more time."

"And have Gene being sick." Said Brian, smiling at Gene. Gene nodded and
Nick said:

"Gene... can I talk to you for a minute?"

"Of course, Nick..." said Gene as he and Nick walked toward Nick's dressing
room. All the way, Brian was looking at them.

In Nick's room...

"So." said Gene as Nick closed the door "What's the deal, Nick?"

"Well... I want you to help me with something..." said Nick.

"About what?" asked Gene.

"Well... sine I know you're bi... I wanted to say that I'm bi too..." said
Nick, looking at his feet. Gene was surprised by this confession. He finally
smiled and put his hand on his brother's left shoulder.

"And so? You know, I'm a bit surprised... but it's okay." He said, smiling.

"I didn't doubt that..." said Nick, smiling too. "But you know, I was bi
since a long time but I only dated girls... I know nothing about men..."

"And you want me to teach you some things? Or do you want to find that by
yourself?" asked Gene.

"Well... I want to find some stuff by myself but... well, I wanted to know
what we fell when we kiss another man..."

"I can't really described it, Nick... It's so... soft and powerful... well,
for me at least..." said Gene. Then he looked at Nick, a frown on his face.

"What's wrong, bro?" asked Nick.

"Bro... Brother..." said Gene. He then put his hand on his mouth while
saying:
"My brother?! Oh my god!"

With that, he ran in the bathroom and vomit in the toilet. Nick stood here,
in the room, really confused. He then heard the flush and the water running.
A few seconds after, the noise stopped. He saw Gene coming back a few
minutes later, a bit pale.

"What's wrong, Gene?" asked Nick.

"Uh... Nick..." he said "I must tell you something..."

A few minutes later...

"So... you kissed me?" said Nick.

"I'm very sorry but I was drunk and at this time I didn't know you were my
brother..." said Gene. He then looked at his feet. "I'm sorry, Nick... But I
had to tell you the truth..."

"It's okay, Gene... I forgive you." Said Nick softly. Gene looked at him.

"Really?" he said, surprised.

"Yeah, really." Said Nick, smiling. "I have to tell you... It wasn't the
first time that a guy kissed me."

"What?!" said Gene, shocked.

"Well... Four years ago, me and the guys were playing Truth or Dare... And
AJ dares Brian to kiss me." He said, blushing a bit.

"Really? How it was?" asked Gene, curious and giggling.

"Well... it was good." Said Nick "But you know, it was a simple kiss... very
soft bout there were no tongues... not like yours."

Gene blushed and nodded.

"Sorry about that... Can I ask you a question?" he said.

"Of course! What?" said Nick, smiling.

"Since you're bi... I wanted to know if..." said Gene, hesitant.

"To know what?" said Nick.

"If you have feelings for Brian." Finished Gene.

Nick's smile immediately fell. Gene saw that and started to worry.

"Feelings for Brian?" said Nick, looking shocked. "Are you insane? He's my
best friend!"

"Jeff was my best friend too..." insisted Gene.

"Oh... well, no." Said Nick "I don't have feelings for him, he's not my
type."

Gene looked at Nick. He looked sincere. Gene smiled and nodded, showing to
Nick that he believed him.
"I didn't want to lie to you, Gene." He thought "But I don't think that I'm
ready to tell you this."

"And you? Do you have feelings for him?" he asked.

"Me?" said Gene, smiling "No, no... Like you, he's not my type."

Nick smiled too.
"Good... I don't want another man to lust for Brian..." he thought.

"Guys! We must go, now!" they heard Kevin said.

Nick and Gene exited the room to join the others guys.
"Lie..." thought Gene "Brian is really cute..."

"So, tomorrow will be your first concert with us." Said AJ to Gene "How are
you feeling?"

"Good." Said Gene, smiling "Can't wait for."

"You'll see, it's incredible!" said Nick, smiling "In front of 40,000 fans!"

"Whoa! I forgot how much people there will be at the concerts." Said Gene,
amazing.

"You'll be used to it quickly." Said Brian, smiling. Gene smiled at him too.

"Seven's floor, guys!" said Nick as the door of the elevator opened on the
BSB's floor.

They all went in their respective rooms except Nick and Gene who went in
Nick's room.

"You know, Gene..." said Nick as he sat on his bed. "In future, you'll
roomed with me or have your own suite one."

"Serious?" said Gene. Nick nodded.

"But... it will be expensive! I can't accept that." He said. Nick chuckled a
little and said.

"Gene... you're my brother and I want you to be comfortable. So you'll
roomed with me when I won't room with Brian, and you have your own room when
I'll room with him." Said Nick. "And money won't be a problem."

"You're sure?" said Gene, uncertain "There will be no problem with
management or somebody else?"

"No!" said Nick, smiling "No problem... remember before we left that I said
to everyone that you were my twin brother..."

"Ah yeah!" said Gene giggling. "Especially when Mark spit his cock on his
drums!"

"Yeah..." said Nick, laughing too "He was pretty upset against me! I still
remember what he said: 'Don't ever tell me something like that when I'm
drinking! Look at my drums! Two hours of cleaning for nothing!'"

"By the way..." said Gene.

"Yeah?" asked Nick.

"You always share a room with Brian when you don't have your own one?" he
asked.

"Yes... I preferred to be with him since we're best fiends... Frick and
Frack..."

"Uh?" said Gene, confused.

"It's our nicknames for the two of us. Only Brian and me can use them." Said
Nick as Gene nodded, understanding.

"Well... I must go now." Said Gene, standing. "I promised Mark to help him
with some stuff of his work..."

"Okay." Said Nick "I'll see you at dinner!"

"See ya!" said Gene as he exited the room.

In the hall...

"Hey Gene!" Gene heard as he walked in the hall. He turned toward a door and
saw Brian.

"Hi Brian." He said. "What's up?"

"Well..." said Brian "I wanted to know if you'd want to have dinner with me,
in my room... To know us better."

"Uh... I don't know." Said Gene, hesitant "Aren't we supposed to dinner
together with the others at the restaurant?"

"Yes, but I can call Kevin and say that we're not coming... there will be no
problems." Said Brian, hoping that Gene will accept.

Gene thought about that idea. It will be good to know Brian better.
Especially because of what Nick said about him.

"Okay!" said Gene "I'll dinner with you."

"Great!" said Brian, smiling. "Be there at 8, okay?"

"No problems." Sad Gene as he walked away. "Do something cool." He added,
winking involuntarily at him.

Brian blushed and said:
"Don't worry... Later!"

*****************

"A dinner with Brian?" said Mark.

"Yes... we'll know each other better." Said Gene.

"Better, uh?" said Mark, grinning and winking at him. Gene blushed a little
and punched him playfully in his arm.

"Not like that, silly!" he said "Get your dirty thoughts for yourself!"

"Aww... you already know me too well!" said Mark, still grinning.

They laughed quietly and started to work.

"Romantic dinner?" thought Gene "Nahh... impossible, Brian is straight, he
was married..."

In the lobby...

"Okay, everyone is here!" said Kevin to AJ, Howie and Nick. "We can go,
now."

"Wait!" said Nick "Brian and Gene aren't there yet."

"They're not coming." Said Kevin "Brian called me and said that him and Gene
were dinning together in his room."

"Oh." Was all Nick said. He couldn't help but felt jealous about that.
"No, no, Nick, you don't have to be jealous." He thought, "After all, even
if he's bi, Gene doesn't have feelings for Brian. He's not his type..."

*****************

"Man! That's suck!" said Gene.

"Yeah, I know." Said Brian "I really couldn't believed that she betrayed me,
I loved her so much..."

"You still do?" asked Gene.

"Not anymore... For some times, I still did, but now it's over." He said
looking at Gene "I must move on, now."

It was now 10:00 PM. Gene and him had finished to dinner some times ago.
Brian had asked for a very good dinner over the phone. They weren't
disappointed. Great food, nice table with candles... Just like a romantic
dinner.

"And you?" said Brian "Do you still love Jeff?"

Gene looked down at his feet, a bit sad.

"Yes, I still do." He said "I think that no matter what will happen in my
life, I'd still feel something for him."

Brian nodded and enveloped him in a hug.

"We have to learn to be stronger, Gene." He said softly to him. Gene sighed
and nodded.

"So... Are you seeing someone?" he asked, breaking the hug.

"No." Said Brian "I really hope that I'll find a girl or man to love
soon..."

"A man?!" said Gene, shocked. Brian looked at him and then realized what he
just said.

"Uh... yeah. Well... Gene, I'm bi." Said Brian "But I only dated girls in my
life so nobody knew this... well except you, actually."

"Oh." Said Gene, smiling "Well... it's okay, since I'm bi too..."

Brian looked at him adoringly, causing Gene's heart to beat loudly.

"Er... You said that we could play guitar earlier." He said, wanting to
change the subject "Do you have your guitar?"

"Yes... just a minute." Said Brian as he looked in his affairs. "There."

He came back with his guitar and sat on the bed next to Gene.

"Want to hear?" he asked.

"Sure!" said Gene happily. Then, he blushed a little because of his
enthusiasm. Brian saw that but just smiled.

A few minutes later...

"Like this." Said Gene as he played some notes. "That made a better sound."

"You're right." Said Brian "I didn't think about it. You're great, Gene."

"Thanks." Said Gene as he gave the guitar to Brian.

Brian started to play the song that Gene was playing.

"Like this." Said Gene as he helped him. Then, without warning, Gene's
fingers intertwined with Brian's ones. Gene looked at him, embarrassed. He
looked down and was bout to pull his hands back when he saw Brian's fingers
gently playing with his owns. He looked up at him and now they were looking
in each other eyes.

"Uh... Brian..." he whispered, not knowing what to say. Brian released one
of Gene's hands and put his finger on Gene's lips.

"Shh..." he said softly. Gene stayed quite as Brian's hand started to slowly
stroke his cheek. Gene opened his mouth and closed it, not knowing what to
say.

"Kiss him..." was saying his mind. But Gene didn't move. He wanted to, but
was afraid to do it.
"What if he hates me, after?" he thought.

He immediately knew that his last thought was wrong as he saw Brian leaning
and soon, he felt his lips against his own ones...
