Foolish Beat - Chapter 31

// Sean and Joey's Room //

"Baby, we have to get ready to go, hurry up."  Sean stated, trying to get
Joey out of bed.

"Do I have to go?  My picture wasn't shown, so I don't feel I need to be
there."  Joey stated, pushing Sean away as he continued struggling with the
bed covers.

"Joey you are part of this group you must be there, now get up or no nookie
for you tonight."  Sean stated, as Joey jumped out of the bed and started
getting dress.  "I thought that would get you up."

"Alright baby I am going.  I just wish I didn't have to go."  Joey stated.

// Brian and Chris' Room //

"So baby how long are you guys going to be at this Press Conference?"
Brian asked.

"I don't know, but I hope it wraps up quickly, I would rather spend my time
with you."  Chris stated walking over to Brian and passionately kissing
him.

"Oh baby that was good, let me have another one.  It may be hours before
you guys get back."  Brian stated, leaning in to kiss Chris again.

"Do we have everything set for our little trip to Vermont?"  Chris asked.

"Yep, everything is set up.  All we have to do is get there and handle the
requirements and get back here and we will be Mr. and
Mr. Littrell-Kirkpatrick."  Brian stated.

"Oh I just can't wait.  We have been waiting for so long."  Chris stated,
as there was a knock at the door.  "Who's there?"

"It's me Justin, I need to talk to you."  Justin spoke behind the door, as
Chris let him in.

"What's up Curly, you look upset."  Chris spoke.

"I went to Lance and JC's room and Lance accused me of taking the picture
that got them into this mess.  I can't believe that they believe I would do
something like that, do they think that less of me?"  Justin stated as he
walked into the room crying.

"Lance said you did that, why?"  Chris asked.

"He said that since I was against their relationship that I did it."
Justin stated, still crying.

"Justin did you do it?"  Chris asked.

"No!  You know I wouldn't do something like that, and they know that too, I
just don't know why Lance would accuse me like that."  Justin stated as
Brian brought him some tissues.

"Thanks Brian."  Justin said, "Lance thinks that since I didn't want him
and Josh together, that I set them up."

"Well that's true you didn't want them together, but I don't believe you
would go and take a picture of them and send it to a tabloid, especially
when you know it could cause problems for the group."  Chris said.

"That's the point I was trying to make to them, but Lance wouldn't listen
to me.  He just accused me and judged me as guilty."  Justin stated, still
crying.

"Everything's going to be okay Curly, calm down.  After the Press
Conference we will talk to Lance and get all of this straightened out."
Chris stated.

"Do you guys have any idea who did this or where it happened?"  Brian
asked.

"No, no clue whatsoever.  I have looked at that picture over and over and I
still don't recognize the surroundings in the picture."  Chris stated.

"Me either.  All I can think of is that someone actually doctored up a
picture and sent it in."  Justin stated.

"It is kind of strange though, but if someone did doctor up a picture, why
would they choose JC and Lance as the targets?"  Brian asked, "It's not
like they show affection in public and there isn't many rumors floating
around about them on the Internet or anything."

"Rumors?"  Justin asked.

"Yeah rumors, like the one I heard about you having an affair with Mandy
Moore, or the one about me dating Christina Aguilera, and I don't even know
her that well."  Brian stated.

"Well rumors are out there, but I don't think a rumor could warrant this."
Chris stated, "Whoever did this is either part of one of the groups, the
crew or a close friend of ours."

"But who?  Who would have done this, why would they do this?"  Justin
asked.

"Curly, money talks and you know it."  Chris stated.

"He's right Justin, someone would sale all of us out for the right price."
Brian stated.

"Well I guess we will find out one day who did it."  Justin stated, "Chris
I think we need to be heading out, it's almost time."

"Alright, honey I will see you later okay."  Chris stated, kissing Brian on
his cheek and hugging him goodbye.

// Hotel Conference Room //

"Good Evening everyone and welcome again."  Johnny stated, standing at the
podium as the Press Conference started.  "As we start this Press
Conference, I would like to introduce Sean Anderson, `N Sync's tour
manager."

As Sean approached the podium, camera flashes went off all around the room,
almost blinding him as he stepped up to talk to everyone.

"Good evening everyone.  We are here tonight to respond to the photo that
was seen in the current issue of the `Enquirer'.  I know all of you have
questions, but I ask that you hold all questions until statement have been
made by both JC Chasez and Lance Bass pertaining to this subject."  Sean
stated as stepped down and motioned for Lance and JC to come over to the
podium.

"Good evening everyone, I know some of you are wondering why there is a
photo of the two of us kissing, and we are wondering that very same thing
too.  It came as a shock to the two of us that there was a picture showing
the two of us kissing.  This may disappoint some of you, but that picture
is not authentic.  We have never and will never kiss each other in that
fashion."  JC stated.

"So you are saying the picture is fake?"  A person yelled from the back of
the room.

"That's correct, the picture is a fake.  If you look at the picture
closely, you could actually see that our faces were super-imposed on the
bodies of someone else."  Lance spoke.

"Mr. Chasez, is it true that you and Mr. Bass were seen frequenting a local
bar for homosexuals in Los Angeles last year?"  Another person asked.

"No it isn't correct at all.  I don't frequent bars at all."  JC spoke.

"I don't either, that wouldn't set a good example for our younger fans."
Lance spoke.

"Excuse me Mr. Bass, Mr. Chasez stated that the two of you were shocked
when you saw the picture, why were you shocked, are you saying that you
would never kiss another man?"  The woman asked.

"No I am not saying that I would never kiss another man, but I wouldn't
kiss another man like that, in that way.  I will not lie, I have kissed
males before, I kiss my nephew all the time."  Lance spoke, causing some
people in the room to laugh.

"Do any of your have any ideas of who generated the picture?"  Someone
asked.

"No we don't but we will be in touch with the said tabloid to get
information pertaining this matter."  Johnny stepped in.

"So is there any significant others in you guys lives?"  Someone asked.

"Well I am currently seeing someone and I am very happy and in love."  JC
spoke.

"I am still single, but hopefully the right lady will catch my eye soon
enough."  Lance spoke.

"That will be all for the questions.  Thank you all for coming tonight."
Johnny stepped up to the podium, standing behind Lance and JC as camera
flashes went off again.

As the reporters and other people in the room were leaving, Johnny directed
the guys out the back of the room to head back to their rooms.

// Howie and Kevin's Room //

"D what's wrong man, you have been sulking around for the last couple of
days, are you okay?"  Kevin asked.

"No I am not okay.  I haven't heard from Jason, and I am very upset."
Howie stated, "Ever since he called me and told me that he was attacked, I
haven't been able to rest.  He told me to watch my back that someone might
be out to get me too."

"Wait, why didn't you tell us about this?"  Kevin asked.

"Tell you about what?"  Howie asked.

"Tell us that Jason had told you that, that Jason had been attacked."
Kevin stated.  "Where is he now?"

"I don't know, I haven't heard from him.  I called his band mates and they
tell me that he left the band.  He also sold his house and packed his
things and moved away from Orlando.."  Howie stated.

"He moved away?  That doesn't sound like something he would do does it?"
Kevin asked.

"No it doesn't, that's why I am upset.  I think his father had something to
do with it.  Ever since we have been together, his father has been
pressuring him to leave me and go straight.  His father even stooped to
threatening to cut off his trust fund so he wouldn't have access to his
money."  Howie stated.

"Damn, I didn't know any of this was happening.  It's not like you told us
any of this D, you kept you guys' relationship hidden from us."  Kevin
stated.

"Well at that time it wasn't anyone's business until Johnny started in on
his crap about knowing who was gay and who wasn't."  Howie stated, walking
over to the door.

"Where are you going?  Don't leave, let's finish talking."  Kevin stated.

"There is nothing more to say Kev, I just need to walk and go clear my
head, I need to get out of here."  Howie stated as he walked out of the
door.

// Sean and Joey's Room //

"I am so glad that is done with.  So tomorrow you guys have a show and then
we have a break."  Sean stated.

"Yep we surely do.  I am so glad; I can spend two days locked up in a room
with you."  Joey stated.

"Who said you can do that?"  Sean stated, "I may not want to be locked in a
room with you, I might want to be locked in a room with Chris or Brian or
somebody else, why it has to be you?"

"What!  You are my boyfriend, why don't you want to be locked in a room
with me.  Don't you love me Brandon?"  Joey asked, shocked at the things
Sean had said.

"Yes I love you Joey, I was only teasing you, calm down baby.  Why are you
so uptight?"  Sean asked.

"I am sorry.  I guess it's all this press stuff.  I was upset earlier that
Johnny would have done something to break the two of us up.  I still wonder
who did this to Lance and JC, if that can happen to them, someone might try
to do it to us."  Joey stated.

"You have a point baby, that's why I was telling you guys that you had to
be careful in public places.  I have looked at that picture and I don't
recognize where it was taken, so maybe it was a fake, I am just glad the
press bought that excuse.  Wonder what those two are doing?"  Sean stated,
lying down in bed besides Joey.

"They are probably doing something like this."  Joey stated as he leaned
over and started kissing Sean passionately.

// Lance and JC's Room //

"Josh who were you talking about, who is the person you are in love with?"
Lance asked.

"I am in love with you Lance.  Did you think I was just saying that for
their benefit?"  JC asked.

"Well I thought you were, but I am glad that's true, I am in love with
someone too."  Lance spoke as he walked over to JC and kissed him
passionately.

"Well I would rather you love me and not Justin."  JC joked, as Lance
slapped him playfully in the arm.

"Silly I do love you.  At first I was scared of my feelings, but after all
of this that has happened, I love you Josh."  Lance stated, as the two of
them kissed again.
