Foolish Beat - Chapter 4

*Outside of the Jive Building *

"There you two are, what what you doing on out bus Chris?" Kevin asked as
he walked over to the two men.

"I was just showing Chris some things on my laptop." Brian said as Chris
let go of the breath he was holding.

"Check you later Brian, thanks for the computer stuff." Chris said as he
caught up to the other 'N Sync members.

"Chris what were you doing with Brian? What are you two doing, are you
hiding something? This is the fourth time this week that I have noticed you
with him." Lance said as he walked up to Chris as he was getting in his
car.

"Nothing Lance, I am not hiding anything. Brian just showed me something on
his computer." Chris said as he closed his door.

"Chris, don't lie to me! I know something strange is going on between you
two. Are you two fucking?" Lance asked with sarcasm in his voice.

"Yes we are, anything else you want to know!" Chris said as he started his
jeep and sped off.

"What the fuck!!!! He better not be telling the truth, he's not gay, all
the gay jokes I have heard him make, he better come correct." Lance said as
he got into his SUV.

* Backstreet Boys Tour Bus *

"Brian can I talk to you for a bit?" Kevin said as he took a seat next to
Brian.

"Sure I guess, what's up bro?" Brian said as Kevin's expression changed.

"Why did you get upset with Johnny for his and Sean's argument today during
the meeting?" Kevin asked.

"He shouldn't argue at Sean about his personal life is all. What Johnny did
pissed me off. What Sean does in his private life is his business and no
one else. Johnny had no right to argue with him in the hallway about
something like that, it wasn't professional and it wasn't fair. I wonder
who sent that memo telling Johnny that Sean was gay, that is so cruel,
whoever did that needs to be beaten with a baseball bat or a golf club."
Brian said with anger written on his face.

Kevin sat there and listen to Brian, he didn't really know what to make of
the whole explanation Brian was giving him, but he continued to listen as
Brian told him how he felt about what Johnny had done. Kevin was a little
relieved, he had thought his cousin had been hiding a secret from him, a
secret that he was gay.

"Oh, I thought something else was going on." Kevin said as he looked the
other way, hoping that Brian didn't catch the meaning to what he said.

"Something like what Kevin?" Brian asked with a confused look on his face.

"Oh nothing, just a thought. Thanks for the chat Brian." Kevin said as he
got up and walked to the back of the bus.

"Kev, wait, are you asking me am I gay?" Brian stood up and asked.

"Are you? It seems that you and Chris Kirkpatrick have been spending a lot
of time together." Kevin said as Brian stared at him.

"How do you know that me and Chris have been spending a lot of time
together?" Brian asked.

"Well I saw him leave your hotel room a couple of months ago when we were
in Key West, then I saw him in LA leaving your hotel room two weeks ago,
then I saw him at your house, now today with you on the bus." Kevin said as
Brian was floored with the information he had just heard from his cousin.

"Okay, okay, I am gay, we are lovers, we have been together for almost a
year. Kev, please don't tell the others yet, let me and Chris tell them
when we are ready to tell them. Please, please keep this secret for now."
Brian pleaded.

"I will, I was just waiting for you to tell me, I am your cousin, when were
you going to tell me, have you told your mom yet?" Kevin asked.

"No I haven't told anyone in the family yet, we have kept this secret for
so long and we intended on keeping it that way until we were ready to tell
everyone." Brian said as he sat back down and started to cry a little bit.

* Justin and JC's House *

"What are you talking about Lance? Chris is not gay, and he's not fucking
Brian Litrell of the Backstreet Boys." Justin said as he spooned another
helping of cereal into his mouth.

"Yes he is! Today when we say him and Brian walk off their tour bus, I
asked him what they were upto, and he said fucking." Lance said.

"Yeah right, you know how Chris jokes a lot. Chris is not gay, he makes too
many gay jokes to be gay." JC said as he continued to write in his
notebook.

"Well explain why he and Brian spend so much time with each other and
explain why Brian treats him so nice. We don't even treat Chris that nice."
Lance said as he walked over to the window.

"Lance, if Chris was gay, he would tell us and besides, if he was it's his
business anyways." Justin said as he walked over to the sink and dropped
his bowl in.

"Why don't you call Chris up and have him come over here and explain him
and Brian then!" Lance screamed.

"Lance calm down, just calm down. I will call Chris and talk to him
tomorrow, but first you need to go home and calm down and rest." JC said as
he herded Lance towards the door.

Walking Lance to the door, JC wondered if what he was talking about was
true. JC had spotted Chris and Brian together doing many things, that
normal friends just don't do. Chris has been touchy touchy with Brian and
that got JC thinking about what they are doing. It was already noted to
Johnny that Joey was gay and he wasn't happy about that, wonder what Johnny
would do if Chris was gay too. Another piece of drama that JC wasn't
willing to handle just yet. JC then decided he would talk to Chris the next
day, all he could think about was getting some sleep since the meeting was
so early in the morning and he was tired as hell.
