Games of Desire-Chapter 10
By Mel
2001
Kevin woke up around 10, stretching. His body
bumped up against a body. A warm body. That woke up
Kevin in a hurry. Justin.
Memories of last night came flooding back. He felt
his cock thicken. Shit. He hadn't meant to do that, to
give in to what he had been feeling.
He tried to ease out of bed, trying not to wake up
Justin. It didn't work. "You going someplace?"
Justin's voice was husky with sleep and it did nothing
to help Kevin's burgeoning erection.
"Bathroom" Kevin managed to choke out and
practically ran. Justin watched, hurt coloring his
blue eyes.
Damn. Justin knew that he had taken a chance last
night, coming to Kevin's door, but it wasn't until he
had finally made love with him that it sunk in. He
loved Kevin Richardson.
And it was also obvious to Justin that although
Kevin's body wanted him, Kevin's heart did not.
Justin brushed away a tear. Quickly he found his
clothes, just wanting to get away. He was just about
to put on his shirt, when Kevin came out of the
bathroom, a towel tied firmly around his waist.
Kevin didn't say anything, just watched him. Justin
met his gaze, daring Kevin to look away. Minutes
ticked by.
Kevin couldn't seem to find the words. Justin
couldn't take it any more. Grabbing his shirt and
shoes, he left, closing the door behind him.
Kevin stared at the door, then sat on the bed, his
head in his hands.
Jc woke up next to Lance on the sofa, his head on
his friends shoulder. To his surprise, he didn't feel
guilty. In fact, it had been the best sleep he had in
a long time.
Except for his spinning head. He promised himself
he would never drink that much again.
He was careful not to wake Lance and headed for
the bathroom, after he was done, and splashing some
cold water on his face, he came out, watching Lance
sleep.
A wave of lust swept over him so hard, he could
hardly breathe. No. He loved Justin.. didn't he? But
Justin does not love you anymore, he reminded himself.
It still hurt to think of Justin not with him, but
it was somehow dulled, as if the time he had spent
with Lance had changed something. JC wasn't sure what
had happened, but in that moment, he knew he wanted to
find out.
But first he had to settle things with Justin, for
once and for all.
Howie woke up, uncurling himself from AJ's body.
He slipped on his boxers and stepped on the balcony,
squinting against the morning light. He worried about
Kevin's reaction to Nick and Chris. What if he reacted
that way to him and AJ? He ran a trembling hand
through his sleep-tousled hair.
"A penny for your thoughts." Howie turned to see
Aj slip out of the room and on to the balcony.
"I am worried about Kevin's reaction to us." Howie
admitted, and Aj slipped an arm around his lover's
waist.
"I don't think we have too much to worry about."
Howie looked at Aj, confused. "I think that his main
problem with Nick was the connection to Nsync. Because
of his feelings for Justin."
Howie's brow cleared. "Do you really think so?"
He asked. He loved Aj, but he didn't want to lose
Kevin either. He was the only one he was really
worried about.
Nick was hardly going to be upset, and Brian.. well
maybe Brian would be upset, but Kevin...his anger at
Nick really surprised Howie.
"Yes, D, I really think so. You still want to
tell them?" His voice had gotten quiet. Howie ran a
hand down Aj's jaw.
"Look at me, Alex." Aj met his gaze. "I love you. I
may be nervous, but its time. Today." Their lips met
in a gentle kiss, that quickly turned passionate.
"Prove it." Howie did.
"Justin. We need to talk." Jc met his friend in
the hall. Jc saw the love bite on Justin's neck, a
mark his mouth hadn't made.
"After today's recording session." Justin promised,
knowing they had to, knowing they didn't have enough
time.
"Justin." Jc's voice was pleading.
"I am not trying to put you off, I promise. I know
we need to talk. It's just not working is it?" the
sadness in Justin's blue eyes got to Jc like nothing
else.
"No, it isn't, not when you want someone else."
Justin shifted his weight, and sighed.
"Jc. Can we please talk about this later?" Jc
nodded, a lump in his throat. Even though Justin
hadn't admitted it, JC knew. He had lost Justin. He
fought to keep the tears out of his eyes.
He watched Justin walk down the hall, waiting
until he was in their room and then he sank against
the wall and let the tears come. That is where Lance
found him.
"Jc. Are you ok?" Jc looked up at him, desolation in
his eyes.
"Does it look like I am ok?" he ground out. Lance
shook his head slowly and sat down beside him.
Immediately Jc threw himself into Lance's arms.
"Jc. Its gonna be ok." Lance whispered, a half
smile crossing his face as JC hugged him. He didn't
like the fact that his friend was hurting, but he was
glad that it was obviously over for Jc and Justin. Now
he would get his chance.
He could taste it.
