Hearts Combining (Chapter 7)

"Competition can damage self-esteem, create anxiety, and lead to
cheating and hurt feelings. But so can romantic love."
--Mariah Burton Nelson

"I'm sorry but he's not here right now, and if I'm not mistaken, I don't
think that he wants to see you anyway!" I practically yelled at her.

"I know you have something to do with this. Brian was never like this until
yesterday when you were with him. And if you do have something to do with
this, you better hope I don't find out because I will crush you. I will do
anything to keep Brian, and I mean everything!" Leighanne said storming off
towards her car. Before getting into the car she turned to me and yelled,
"I will kill you if you keep Brian away from me!" Then left.

I stood there stunned....I didn't know how to take the threat. Brian and
Kevin said that I should be worried but part of me told me that if she
tried anything I would be able to handle it. Shaking the threat out of my
head, I went back into the kitchen. Before I knew it, I heard Jackie
walking through the front door. Not paying much attention to her, I
finished what little I had left to do for dinner.

When Jackie finally walked into the kitchen I had already finished
everything, and was preparing to set the table.

"Can I help you with anything?" Jackie asked leaning against the door
frame. I finally noticed her. After a quick glance around the room, I
answered her.

"Actually no everything is done.....All we need is the guys!" I answered
smiling at her. I felt like I have known her forever! Theoretically, I have
I just never realized who she was.

"Where is Jase?" Jackie asked walking into the room.

"It is a custom when we come to Florida on vacation that as soon as the
plane lands, he is gone out of my sight. Karen, Diane, and Lynn are taking
him shopping, out to eat, to a movie, and anything else they can think
of. He is staying with Lynn tonight, though." I answered setting up the
table.

"Okay....I'm going to go to my hotel. I don't want to interrupt your
dinner." Jackie said turning to walk out of the kitchen.

"No you're not! There are two reasons why you're going to
stay......One.....you're staying to eat because I want this to be almost an
adult family dinner......just you, me, and the five guys....no one
else......and two......I'm going to make Brian and Kevin take you back to
the hotel later to get your stuff.....I want you to stay here. They all are
saying this is my house also, so we're going to test it." I informed her. I
was staring at her looking to see if the expression on her face was ever
going to change. It finally did after a few moments. Then a giant smile
grew on her face.

"You're about as stubborn as my own children!" Jackie said staring me in
the eyes. "But.....I don't want to just barge in here and take over like
that....."

"Yeah?....I think you did that this morning! But I'm glad you did it
though...." Brian said making both Jackie and I jump.

"Damn you Brian!" We both said.

"You both love me, though! Don't deny it!" Brian said in a cocky tone.

"Brian I never had a problem denying anything.....it was the realization of
my problems that was the problem." I threw at him.

"Oh so now I'm a problem?" Brian questioned.

"Yes.....but nothing that I can't handle!" I said while walking over to him
and kissing him on the cheek.

"Am I a problem too?" Kevin questioned standing behind Brian.

"I still haven't figured you out yet! I can normally figure people out real
quickly, but you I can't! But you are also a problem that I can handle!" I
said kissing Kevin on the cheek too.

"I don't know why I can't read you either!" Kevin stated more to himself.

"I know......I know.....I know why!" Brian yelled jumping up and down like
a little kid.

"Okay Brian......enlighten us!" Kevin said in a sweet tone.

"Because you both are too much alike!" Both Brian and Jackie yelled!

"Are not!" Kevin and I said at the same time.

"We rest our cases!" Jackie smiled!

"Okay.....here are two of you, now where are the other three?" I asked.

"They went up stairs to change clothes.....We didn't go yet because we
wanted to see you!" Kevin said in a voice that could have melted the ice
caps!

"Awe that is sweet!" I said kissing both Brian and Kevin on the lips. "Now
go and get changed before dinner gets cold!"

Both Brian and Kevin quickly left the room to get changed. I turned around
and stared face to face with Jackie.

"You know that they won't let you leave now.....I hope that you're willing
to be here for the rough road they both lead!" Jackie stated.

"Jackie......I'm going to be here through thick and thin......better or
worst......until Death will we all four part!" I had just spoken everything
that was in my heart! It was at that point that I realized that I would
jump at the chance if they asked me to marry them!

"Chris I know you will.....that is why I'm welcoming you to my family!"
*****************************************************

"Miss Green?" The young girl nodded her head. "I'm doctor Michaels! I have
the test results back. They sent me to you for support."

"Is it what those other doctors thought?"

"I'm sorry........" Dr. Michaels trailed off.

"Oh my god......Jen honey......I don't know what I can do!" Mary cried out.

"When......sniff......When do you expect me to die?" Jen said with tears
flowing. She had figured that is was going to happen. Giving birth to four
babies at her age, that was extremely dangerous.

"I'm sorry....but in my personal opinion......about a month after going
into labor! Is there anything that I can do for you?" Dr. Michaels asked.

"Actually yes......Does it have to be the actual father of the babies on
the birth certificates? Their father is dead, but I know someone else that
I want to raise my children without having to go to court!" Jen asked

"No the biological father's name is not need.....Just the father that you
want your children to be named after." Dr. Michaels informed.

"Thanks that is all I need." Jen said. She watched the doctor walk out of
the room, then turned to her mother. "Call Jack.....Find out if there are
any legal matters that I need to take care of. I also want to re-route my
inheritance."

"Who are you going to make the father of the kids? And who are you
re-routing the inheritance to?" Mary asked.

"Both are going to Chris!" Jen stated.
