If I Ain't Got You -- Chapter 1
by JT Poole

// Orlando -- Jive Entertainment //

"What do you mean I am stuck on tour for another two months?" Justin asked,
walking over to Johnny Wright's desk.

"You overlooked April and May. You just can't stop in March Justin."
Johnny spoke.

"Why? Where did these extra dates come from?" Justin asked.

"The dates were already in place, didn't you read your agenda?" Johnny
asked.

"The agenda I have has my tour slated to end in March not May." Justin
stated.

"Then apparently you didn't read your agenda thoroughly." Johnny stated.

"Johnny I can't do it. All of this is draining me." Justin stated.

"Well you are on break now, I suggest you rest as much as you can, but you
have tour dates that you must follow through on." Johnny stated.

"Rest! How am I supposed to rest? I have rehearsals with Christina, radio
interviews and other things that you and everyone else in this place has
lined up for me to do." Justin stated, pacing around the room. "I don't
know how I am going to get through all of this."

"You will Justin." Johnny stated. "Is that all Justin?"

"Is that all? Is that all? What is this? That's all you have to say
Johnny?" Justin asked, walking over to Johnny's desk slamming his fist
down, causing some of Johnny's papers to fly off the desk.

"Justin calm down." Johnny stated as Johnny's assistant walked into the
room.

"I am not going to calm down! Justin stated. "Fuck this, I'm outta here.
See how well you go without me singing. I'll find you when I need you."

"Justin, Justin come back here." Johnny stated as Justin walked past the
assistant out of his office.

"What was that all about?" Johnny's assistant asked walking over to Johnny'
s desk.

"Oh that was just Justin Timberlake acting like a brat." Johnny stated,
picking up his papers off the floor.

"So you say." The assistant stated.

"Get me Lynn Harless on the phone, I suspect he's going to talk to hear and
tell her where he's going." Johnny stated. "That boy has another thing
coming if he thinks he's going to bail out of those tour dates that are
already lined up for him and Christina."

"Should I get Christina's tour manager on the phone?" The assistant asked.

"No, just call RCA and tell Perry to keep an eye out for any problems that
may arise, tell him to call the tour manager and let them know what may be
going on. Don't give more than that. We don't need the media getting hold
of any of this." Johnny stated.

"Ah okay, I will get on it. I will let you know what has been taken care
of." The assistant stated, walking out of Johnny's office.

"No ma, I don't know where I am going, but I am going to be gone for a long
time. Maybe then Johnny will realize how overworked I am." Justin stated,
talking on the phone.

"Honey you just can't get up and go like this, think about all the fans, don
't live Christina and the other performers in a jam like that." Lynn
Harless spoke to Justin.

"Ma don't try to make me feel sad because I am not going to feel sad about
this one bit." Justin stated, putting his clothes into a bag. "He seems to
think that this week is enough for a rest, I don't seem to feel that way."

"Justin baby, don't do this. Just stay there and get as much rest as you
can get." Lynn stated.

"Ma how can I get rest? I am not performing, but I have photo shoots, radio
interviews to do and meet and greets lined up. How is that resting?"

"Honey I know you have a lot on your plate right now, but do what you can to
get through that and just think that in May, you can rest a whole lot."
Lynn stated.

"No ma, I need rest now or I am going to go crazy." Justin stated, throwing
more clothes into his suitcase.

"Baby please don't do this now." Lynn stated. "Remember you were the one
that wanted to go on and do this."

"Oh great, now you are throwing this in my face, first Josh now you."
Justin stated, sitting down on the bed. "I know I wanted to go solo, but I
also wanted a less stressed out life and I don't have that, seems like I am
going through the same crap that I went through with the guys."

// Jamestown, NY -- A Private Townhouse //

"What do you mean Les?" Nick stated talking on the phone.

"You have to come back here. Mom wants you to be here for the holidays."
Leslie stated.

"I don't really feel like flying back down to Tampa, I just want to stay
here." Nick stated, walking over to the sofa and sitting down. "The
purpose of me coming here was to get away for a bit and rest."

"You can rest here with the rest of the family." Leslie stated.

"I would rather stay here and be by myself." Nick stated, twirling his hair
while talking.

"Does this have to do with the love interest thing?" Leslie asked.

"What love interest thing?" Nick asked.

"You know that I am talking about Nick." Leslie stated.

"Les I am not up for games." Nick stated.

"He's not coming." Leslie stated.

"Who's not coming?" Nick asked.

"You know who I am talking about Nick, stop playing games. You know darn
well who I am talking about. Brian isn't coming. He went to Kentucky to be
with his mom and dad." Leslie stated.

"Why would I be worried about Brian coming?" Nick asked.

"Nick you are so transparent. You have been avoiding Brian since he got
back together with Leighanne." Leslie stated.

"No I haven't, I just haven't had time to see him or anything." Nick
stated.

"Yeah right Nick." Leslie stated. "It's time for you to move on. He loves
her now, he might have loved you, but now she's in his life and I don't
think he's going to ever really leave her to be with you."

"Les I really don't want to hear any of this." Nick stated, tears forming
in his eyes.

"You need to hear it Nick, that's the only way you are going to force
yourself to forget about Brian and move on." Leslie stated.

"I don't want to move on. I love him. I will always love him." Nick
stated, crying now.

"I know Nick, I know but he doesn't love you like that anymore." Leslie
stated. "He has her now, do like he did and move on."

"I can't Les, I just can't." Nick stated as he continued crying letting the
phone fall to the floor.

// Back in Orlando -- The Spot //

"What can I get you man?" The bartender asked.

"Yeah let me get a rum and coke." Justin stated, sitting down at the bar.

"Alright, coming up." The bartender stated, pulling a glass from below the
counter and filling it with alcohol. "Here you are, that's five dollars."

"Here you go, keep the change." Justin stated, grabbing his drink and
knocking it back in one gulp.

"Whoa man, do you want another one?" The bartender asked.

"Yeah I do." Justin stated, putting the glass down on the counter. "Do you
run tabs here?"

"Yeah, I need your ID." The guy stated as Justin handed him his drivers'
license. "Oh I got a star on my hands. My boyfriend listens to your
 music."

"Well thanks." Justin stated. "Can you keep it down? I don't want anyone
to recognize me in here."

"You are in a gay bay dude, I am quite sure everyone in here will recognize
you." The bartender stated.

"Well I will take my chances, but I don't need you broadcasting it. Please
don't bring any attention to me." Justin stated, handing the bartender a
hundred dollar bill.

"Okay sir, my lips are sealed." The bartender stated, fixing another drink
for Justin.

// 2 Hours Later //

"Man I don't think you need to drink anymore. I think you have had enough."
The bartender stated.

"I think you are right." Justin stated as he slid off the stole and tried
to walk.

"Hey man sit back down. I will call you a taxi, you can't drive in your
state." The bartender stated, helping Justin over to a table. "You just
hold tight as I go call you a taxi."

"No I don't need a taxi, I just need to go back to my place and sleep. I
can drive." Justin stated.

"No you can't drive man." The bartender stated. "You are really really
drunk. You can't drive like that man, you will kill yourself or someone
else."

"I can't go back to my place getting out of a taxi." Justin stated. "What
if the tabloids found out?"

"Well is there someone you can call to come get you?" The bartender asked.

"Nope, I am in this town all by my lonesome." Justin stated as he hiccupped
and threw up on the table. "Oops, look what I did."

"Don't worry about that, you just sit here. Wait a few minutes and I will
take you to your place if you want." The bartender stated.

"You can't do that, I can't let you do that. I will just drive myself
back." Justin stated as he tried to get up again, this time falling to the
floor and passing out.

"Oh shit." The bartender stated. "Justin? Justin? Damn, he's passed
 out."
