Kevin & Dustin Part 7 "D-Dustin is that you," the voice asked. "Who is this," I asked. "You don't recognize my voice," the voice asked. "Who is this," I asked again. "Its me....K-Kevin," the voice said. "K-Kevin. What are you doing," I said upset. "If my dad finds out he will ruin your career," I said concerned. "I don't care about that," Kevin said. "Look we really need to talk about some things," Kevin said. "What's there to talk about. You didn't seem to wanna let me talk a month ago," I said remembering what happened at the police station. "Dustin I was angry. Your dad told me something real convincing. It wasn't until now that I found out it wasn't true. Apparently your sister told Nick what really happened and Nick told Brian. Then Brian told me. We all feel real bad on how we treated you. Dustin I am so sorry. Will you ever forgive me?" Kevin asked starting to cry. "Kevin of course I forgive you. How could I not. And I understand. I probably would have done the same thing if I was in your position," I replied. "God, Thank you so much. I'm so sorry for the way I treated you that night. It wasn't right. I should have let you tell your side of it. I am so sorry. I feel awful," Kevin said. "Look its ok. Personally Id rather forget about that night," I said. "Me too," Kevin replied. "So is your dad gonna find out about this," Kevin asked. "No he no longer lives here," I replied happily. "Dustin I know that you're angry at your dad, but you have to forgive him eventually. He was only doing what he thought was best for you," Kevin said into the phone. "I know, but he doesn't want me happy. So why should I forgive him," I asked. "You don't wanna grow up without him there," Kevin said. "I wanna forgive him Kevin, I really do. But I want him to know that if he wants me to forgive him that I want to be able to be with you. Ok," I said. "I understand," Kevin replied. "So what have you done this past month Dustin," Kevin asked. "Oh Umm, not much really. Just hang out with friends and stuff," I replied. "You," I asked. "Worked on the album, and stuff," Kevin said. "Cool. By the way, I loved the new single "I Want It That Way". I have to admit when I first heard it I cried. It was when well....we don't need to go back into the past," I said. "Ya, I agree," Kevin responded. "Kevin can I ask you something?" "Sure you can ask me anything you want," he replied. "My graduation will be coming up on the 21st of May. I was wondering if you would like to come?" I asked. "You want me there," He asked dumbfoundedly. "Yes. You are my boyfriend....well wait, are you my boyfriend, or are we just friends," I asked nervously. "I'd rather be your boyfriend if you want me to be," he said. "Good," I replied. "Yes I want you there. Is that a problem. If your busy I understand," I said. "Its not that. The last 2 weeks of May and first 3 of June we have off. Its just I think if I went someone will recognize me and then the attention will be diverted from what the day is meant for," he said. "Well I'd rather have you there," I said. "Ok, but what about your dad," Kevin asked. "Well I turn 18 on May 16. So it wont be a problem. Remember his original deal with you was "No contact with me until I'm 18."" Kevin said. "Ya I remember," Kevin replied. "Good. Then we have nothing to worry about," I said happily. "Kevin I've missed you so much," I said. "I've missed you too. I'm sorry I acted the way I did," Kevin replied. "Please stop apologizing. I know that your sorry. You don't have to say it anymore. Ok," I said. "Alright," Kevin replied. "So how are all the guys doing," I asked. "They are all doing ok, except since now they know the truth, they are all real bummed over how they treated you," Kevin replied. "Well tell them that's it's ok and that I forgive them," I said. "Will do," he replied. "Dustin," his mom yelled from downstairs. "hang on a sec my mom wants me," I said. "Ok," Kevin replied. Dustin quickly walked down the stairs in a happy mood. He didn't wanna keep Kevin on hold to long. "Ya mom what is it," I asked. "Well guess what," she said. "I don't know. What?" I asked. "Your sister is coming home in 3 days," my mom said happily. "Great. Whats the occasion," I asked. "Well your graduation for one thing. She does get out the first week of May," My mom responded. "Cool. I cant wait to see her again," I said. "Thats not all," My Mom said. "What else," I asked. "Well from June 4th to June 11th we are going on a special vacation," my mom said. "Awsome, where are we going," I asked. "Well thats a surpirse," she said. "Cool....well if thats all I have someone on hold," I answered. "Ok honey," my mom said. I ran back up the stairs and into my room. I closed the door and picked up the phone. "Kevin are you there," I asked. "Ya still here," He replied. "What did your Mom need," he asked. "Oh just to tell me that Kelly is coming home in 3 days and that we are going on some special but secret vacation. My mom wont tell me where," I said. "Cool. Sounds like fun. When are you guys gonna be gone," Kevin asked. "Umm, June 4th-June 11th," I replied. "Cool...Do you think if your Mom excpets my being there I could accompany you guys? Or is this a family thing," Kevin asked. "Im not sure. Ill tell you when I know more," I replied. "Thanks. God I miss seeing your face," Kevin confessed. "Hey whats your address," I asked. Kevin proceeded to give me his address and his cell phone number. "Why do you need my address," Kevin asked perplexed. "So i can send you some pictures of me. That way you can see my face whenever you start to miss me," I replied. "Thanks. Id send you some of mine, but all you have to do is get on the Internet and you can find plenty," Kevin replied. "Ya but could you send me some of yours anyway?" "Anything for you Dustin," kevin responded. "Great thanks so much," I answered. "Dustin," his mom yelled from the bottom of the stairs again. "Hang on Kev," I said. "Ok," he replied. I went and opened the door and was getting ready to walk out when i collided with my mom. "Sorry. What do you need," I asked. "I need to make a phone call Dustin. And someone is downstairs to see you," she said. "Ok tell whoever it is Ill be right down. Just give me a minute," I said. "Alright. Ill have them wait in the living room," my mom replied. "Thanks mom." I ran quickly back to my room and picked up the phone again. "Kevin, sorry about that," I said. "Thats ok," he replied. "Look I dont wanna but my Mom needs to make a phone call and there is someone downstairs waiting to speak to me. So i need to go," I said. "Ok I understand," Kevin replied. "Ill call you tomorrow," he said. "Great," I replied. "I Love you Dustin." "I love you too. Goody-bye." "Bye." I turned the phone off and thought for a second. 'He really does love me.' I got up and opened my door and walked down the steps and into the living room. When I got there I was completely in shock as to who was sitting there on the couch. "J-Jeff! Oh my God! What are you doing here," I screamed as I went up to hug him. I always knew I could hug Jeff because we were always like brothers growing up. When one of us had problems we would always comfort and help eachother through it. "Good to see you too Dustin," Jeff replied while returning the hug. "Jeff what are you doing here," I asked. "Well its my Grandparents 75th Wedding anniversary, so we all came back for the weekend," Jeff replied. "Cool. God Ive missed you alot. Its not fun without you anymore," I said. "Ya I know. Ive felt the same way, but Ive made some new friends. but none are as good a friend as you were," he replied. "Aw shucks. Your making me blush," I said while playfully punching him in the shoulder. "Ya know what," I said excitedly. "What," he asked. "We need to go out tonight. You, me, Brad, Mike, everyone," I said. "Id like to but not tonight. I have some stuff I wanna talk to you about," he said. "Ok what," I asked. "Not here. Can we go somewhere," he asked. "Sure. hang on and ill get my keys," I said. I went into my room and got my car keys and wallet. I went into the kitchen and explained to my Mom where we were going. She reminded us to be back here at 11:00 Jeff and I got in my car and drove off. It was still daylight and the sun was just getting ready to set. We decided on going to the pond. It was the exact same spot where I took Kevin. I was alittle worried about going back, but my worries quickly went away. "So Jeff what do you wanna tell me," I asked. "Well its difficult," he said. "I hope you arent mad. When I tell you this. I hope you will still be my friend," he said. "Ill always be your friend Jeff. You should know that," I said. "Well Dustin I dont know the best way to say so Im just gonna say it," Jeff said. 'Oh no! Is he gonna say hes gay too like Brad told me??? And that hes in Love with me too???' 'Do I have a sign on me that says..."Tell me if your gay" I wandered' "Dustin Im...Im......" No matter how hard he tried Jeff couldnt make the rest of the words come out. "Are you gay," I asked him. He immediately shot a look of horror into my eyes. "How--How did you know," he asked confused. "I just guessed thats all," I said. "Are you....Do you--Do you have feelings for me," I asked dreading the answer only because I didnt wanna hurt his feelings. "Sorta....I think I do," he said. "Thats what I was afriad of," I said. "Jeff Im gay too. But as much as I would like it....I cant be with you. Im in a relationship with a guy I met during summer vacation in Orlando," I replied. "I understand. I just had to tell you. I felt awful keeping it from you. I have had these feelings for you since the beginning of high school," he said. When he said that I thoguht back to our beginning in highschool....'Did he send me signals that I ignored or didnt recognize???' 'Would things have been different now if I had known?' 'Would I be with kevin right now if i had known before?' "So why didnt you tell me before now," I asked. "I was afriad that you would hate me," he confessed. "I could never hate you I hope you know that," I said. "I know," he replied. "Come here," I said. I pullled jeff towards me and hugged him. I hope he doesnt take this the wrong way, but I think he just needs a hug. I dont have any sexual feelings behind it at all. I just want him to know that I care and know how it is. I then thought of who I could set him up with "Of course," I yelled outloud. "What," he asked confused. "BRAD!" I said. "what about him," Jeff asked. "Jeff, Brad is gay too. he told me. He isnt in a relationship either. Maybe you two should talk to him. Maybe you two can start a relationship or something," I said. "Your sure hes gay," he asked. "Positive," I replied. "Well do you think...Maybe you could....," Jeff trailed off. "Ill get it taken care of dont worry," I assured him. "Thank you so much. You are such a great friend," Jeff said. "Thanks. You are to you know," I replied. A few minutes of small talk and we were pulling out away from our spot over-looking the pond and on our way back to my house. On the ride home we didnt say much. I knew what he was thinking, and I think he knew what I was thinking as well. Only one thing crossed my mind when I was gonna figure out how to st him up with Brad. Then I remembered Brad's words when I told him that we couldnt happen. 'I'll always wait for you. I love you Dustin' echoed through my mind. 'What if I set him up with Jeff and he doesnt want him? What if all he wants in life is me?' 'My life just got better today now that kevin and i are back together now its getting worse. Why are my 2 best friends all of the sudden lusting after me,' I thought. We got home and decided since tomorrow was Saturday that Jeff, me, Brad, Mike, Crystal, Lindsey, Justin, Kyle, and our other friends would all hang out or something. Jeff got in his car and dove off. I walked in my house and checked the answering machine. No important messages that i need to get back to right now. When I mean important I mean a message from Kevin. But then i realized my mom doesnt know so he porbably wouldnt call anyways. I slowly walked upstairs and into the bathroom. I pissed then got a quick shower to wash all of the days grime off of me. Then I brushed my teeth and walked to my room. I walked in my room and turned on the lights then closed my door. I decided, that since tomorrow I would spend most of the day out, I got started on my homework. All I had was some Algebra. And since Math came very easy to me it didnt take to long. I was finally in bed by 12:30 In Orlando in Kevin's Apartment the next morning.... Kevin slowly got our of bed and made his way to the bathroom. He pissed then got in the shower to get ready for today. He went into his room and got dressed, then back into the bathroom to fix his hair, and brush his teeth. He skipped breakfast today because he wasnt all that hungry, and got in his car and proceeded to Brian's Apartment. When Kevin got there and Brian wasnt there, he was worried at first but remembered that Brian told him last night he was gonna be over at Nick's. 'They were porbably up late and he feel asleep,' Kevin thought. Kevin got in his car and then went to Nick's apartment. After knocking and waiting for awhile kevin got worried and got the sapre key Nick gave him out. He didnt feel comfortable about entering Nick's place even though they were friends but he knew from past experience that Nick is always the last to wake up. As he turned the key in the lock he opened the door and stepped in slowly. He shut the door and looked in the living room. 'Huh, thats odd,' kevin thought. He then looked around everywhere else. Since he couldnt find Brian or Nick anywhere he finally decided to look in Nick's bedroom. When he opened the door and looked in he was shocked as to what he saw. Brian was in bed with Nick. BRIAN WAS IN BED WITH NICK?! "Oh my God," Kevin gasped and said it without conciously realizing it. This of course woke up Nick and he looked in the doorway to see Kevin staring at the both of them. "OH SHIT!" Nick screamed while rolling Brian off of him. "huh...whats wrong Nick," Brian asked groggily. As soon as Brian was fully awake he realized that his cousin was standing in the doorway to Nick's bedroom. "Kevin, what.....what are you....do-doing here," Brian studdered out. "I should ask you the same thing. but since ive seen what you were doing i dont need to," Kevin stated. "Kevin its..its... not what--what you think," Brian studdered out. "oh then what is you sleeping with Nick," Kevin asked. "Well its...its...," brian couldnt get the rest of the words to come out. "Look Brian....Im not mad at you ok. What you do in your life is your business. Im just hurt that you couldnt tell me. I told you," Kevin confessed. "Kevin I would have told you honest. but i didnt find this out about myself until we were in Illinois visiting Dustin," Brian confessed starting to cry. Nick turned towards Brian and wrapped him in his arms. "Shh, its ok Brian. No one is gonna hurt you," Nick said trying to calm Brian. "Thanks Nick," Brian said sitting up. "Nick I have a question," Kevin asked. "What about Kelly? Do you still care for her?" "I dont know anymore. I think i do," Nick responded. "Well are you gonna tell her about you and Brian," Kevin asked. "No not yet. I am gonna tell her. but not yet," Nick said. "Well come on. Ive been looking for you for awhile," Kevin said. "Umm, Kevin do you think we could have some privacy for a few minutes," Brian asked. "Huh....oh sure. Ill be in the living room," Kevin said. He got up and walked out of Nick's room. As soon as the door was shut Brian jumped on Nick and kissed him full on the lips. "What was that for," Nick asked. "I just wanted to kiss you," he replied. "Thats fine with me," he answered. Brian and Nick got dressed and walked into Nick's living room. "Ready to go," kevin asked. "Where are we going," Nick asked. "Well we have a few interviews and we have to go to a charity event," Kevin answered. "Alright. lets go," Brian said. Brian, Kevin, and Nick walked out of Nick's apartment and Nick locked up. Then he joined the others in Kevin's car. They headed over to the studio where they would meet up with Howie and AJ and do the interview. In Illinois at Dustin's house.... Dustin woke up smiled and stretched. Today was the first time he had waken up smiling. He was happy that he and kevin were back together and that he would be seeing him in a week. He went to the bathroom and took a shower, then walked back into his room and got dressed. he went down to the kitchen and saw a note from his mom. Dustin, I had to go to see your father today. Ill be back around 3:30. Leave a note if you go anywhere. Love, Mom Dustin got a bowl and ceral and ate a lite breakfast. he wrote a note to his mom saying he was going out with friends and would be back later toinght. He grabbed his keys and went to the garage. He got in his car, opened the garage door, and drove off to Jeff's grandparents house. He drove up to Jeff's grandparents door and got out. He never liked going in his grandparents house. When jeff was there and he cameover if they tried to go anywhere it would take them almost 30 minutes just to be able to leave without his grandparents starting a conversation again. He was glad Jeff was waiting outside. "Hey buddy," Jeff said. "Hey whats up," Dustin asked. "Not much so what are we gonna do today," Jeff asked. "Well I figured we can go eat lunch somewhere since its almost noon. Then we can go back to my hosue and call the guys and tell 'em your in town and that were gonna do something," Dustin suggested. "Sounds good. Where do you wanna eat," Jeff asked. "How about Jimmy the Greeks," Jeff suggested. "Great," Dustin replied. Dustin drove off and headed for Jimmy the Greeks. Its obviously a Greek restaurant hence the name. WE got in the place and were seated rather quickly considering it was lunch hour. We ordered our drinks and meals and just talked while we waited. We only waited abotu 20 minutes for our food. Thats pretty good considering their lunch hour can get pretty busy. After we agreed to split the check we paid and left and went back to my house. We called the guys and set it all up. We agreed to meet at the mall in 20 minutes. So Jeff quickly went to the bathroom while i called Kevin. he wasnt in so i left a message telling him to call me later and that i loved him. Jeff came out as i finished my message and then we left for the mall. Dustin and Jeff arrived at the mall and headed for the food court where they would meet the others. Waiting for them was Brad, Justin, Brittany, Kyle, Lindsey, Mike, and Jenna. Sadly Crystal had dumped Mike for a college guy. So now Mike is going out with Jenna. Stephanie was also there. I had dated her during the end of our freshman year and all of our sophmore year. but that summer we broke up. Im glad we were able to stay friends, it evens seems like we are better friends now then we were before. "Well look who it is," Kyle said. "I dont believe it. Its Jeff," Lindsey said surprised. "Yep in the flesh," Jeff replied. "So what brings you back here," Brad asked. I noticed Brad looking Jeff over out fo the corner of my eye. Good it looks like he likes him. I think Jeff noticed some too but i wasnt sure. "not much," jeff replied. "Im just back for the weekend. Its my grandparents 75th wedding anniversary," he added. After some more get to know you talk we all decided we were gonna go see a movie. We decided on The Mummy. We all paid for our tickets and no one really got snacks this time so we just went in. I pulled Brad off to the side while the others went in. "Brad...I have some good news," I said. "What," he asked "Jeff...is gay," i said. "What?! Are you sure," Brad asked. "Yep, he told me last night," i replied. "You know.....you 2 would make a good couple," I added. "You think," he asked. "definately," i answered. "Look i just wanted to tell you that. Now that you know your on your own. Spend some time alone with him....you never not what may happen," I said. "Now come on lets go watch the movie," i added. We walked in and took our seats. The movie was ok, i didnt think it was all that great but the special effects were cool. We all eft in our own groups and Jeff left with Brad. So i drove my car back home. Mom was still gone and there was just enough light left to go for a walk in the park. So off I was for the park. As i walked i saw a couple sitting on a bench admiring the sunset. 'I wish Kevin was here with me to share this moment,' I thought. It just started getting dark and i decided i better head back. It wasnt dark enough to where you couldnt see but the steet lamps were on. I was slowly walking home from the park. I was so happy that kevin and I had gotten back together. And happy that Jeff had gone out with Brad and that those two had hopefully had a good time. I was even happier that Kevin was gonna come to my graduation. For the first time everything is working out great. I was still in a daze of today's events until i heard a sound that I will never forget. It was the sound of a woman from across the street. "OH MY GOD! LOOK OUT!!!!!" that was all I heard then I turned and saw it coming. Then there was only one thing. DARKNESS. TBC I hope you liked this part.
