Subject: Lance's Search 17

Welcome to "Lance's Search," an exploration of a young man discovering
himself. As much as I would suspect otherwise, I have no actual proof of
the sexual orientations of Lance Bass, Justin Timberlake or JC Chasez.
Consequently anything you read in this story is the product of the mind of
its author. That said, this story attempts to take a realistic look into
the thoughts and feelings of a guy as he discovers the pains and the joys
associated with loving his fellow man... or his fellow band mate as the
case may be.

If you have any comments, please e-mail them to bjluver@gay.com. Otherwise,
enjoy the story.

"Any tricks to the fingering I should know?" Lance asked.

"Yeah, be sure to lube up your fingers first. And don't start off trying to
insert your whole hand. Start with just one finger, then slowly add
another, then another." Justin said. "You know, I'd be happy to
demonstrate it on you. Let you see how good it can feel."

"Maybe sometime. I just don't think I'm ready yet. Besides I gotta get some
work done before I can get to bed. And when I get there I'll just wanna
curl up under the blanket with you and get some sleep. Busy day tomorrow,
and we have a special mission in the morning."

"Special mission? Morning? You've got to be kidding. What mission?"

Chapter 17

JC spent the first week of NSYNC's tour break with his family and visiting
friends up in the Washington DC area. Today he was scheduled to fly to
Orlando.

Lance had managed to get JC to tell him the flight arrangements, although
it wasn't easy. JC seemed reluctant at first, but Lance assured him that
someone from the band ought to know what flight he was taking, just in
case.

Lance actually had another motive.

"So what is this mission you're talking about? And why do we have to do it
in the morning?" Justin asked.

"Whadda think about surprising JC by picking him up at the airport
tomorrow?"

"Sounds cool to me, unless it's a morning arrival. What time does the
flight get in?"

"9 a.m."

"Second thought. Forget it."

"Forget it?"

"I ain't gonna get up in time for a 9 a.m. arrival. That's cruel and
unusual punishment."

"Well guess I'll have to go by myself. Of course, if I'm the only one
going, I'll have to rest up more. Guess I won't be able to practice my
sucking technique on you for a couple of days," Lance said with a smirk.

"That's blackmail, buddy!"

"That's such a harsh charge," Lance said through his chuckles. "Besides,
don't you want to see your big brother?"

"That I can do without until later in the day. Not getting any sex is
another matter."

"So you'll go with me?"

"Arrrgh! Let's get to bed now so I've got plenty of time for my beauty
sleep."

"And you need plenty of that beauty sleep."

"Hey! Watch it there, Scoop, or I may have to show you what teeth feel like
when sucking."

Despite the early bedtime, morning came too early for Justin's taste. But
getting to the airport was quite a drive from Lance's home and then the
airport at Orlando was a big one, meaning it would take some time just to
get to JC's gate. Justin would still have preferred to pass on picking up
JC this early in the day, but Lance seemed determined to surprise their
fellow group member. It seemed to Justin that Lance's interest in JC was
becoming stronger all the time. He was sure Lance wanted more than a good
friendship out of JC, but personally he thought JC was straight as an
arrow. But he didn't want to tell Lance that he thought he was wasting his
time. Justin figured Lance might misinterpret it as jealousy, not wanting
to give up the sex. Justin loved Lance and enjoyed having sex with him, but
he knew he wasn't "in love" with Lance. Justin wasn't ready to experience
that type of bond yet. If Lance and JC were to fall in love, Justin would
be happy for them, but he didn't think it could ever be.

Despite Lance's best efforts, the duo was running a bit late getting to the
airport. They finally made their way to the big room in the middle of the
terminal where the board with all the flight information was located. They
found JC's flight and headed toward the elevated monorails that would take
them to the gates. Wearing their hats and sunglasses, fortunately no one
recognized them. During the brief ride, Justin saw that Lance was a bit
nervous. "You OK?"

"Yeah, just worried that we might miss him."

"There's still plenty of time. He's still got to get off the plane, you
know."

The pair walked briskly from the vehicle to the gate. As it turned out, the
jet had just landed and was still taxiing. The waiting area for the gate
was crowded with people both waiting for this incoming flight and for the
one that would use this plane to fly elsewhere. They had to take up a
position well off to the side, but they could clearly see the door from
their vantage spot.

The gate attendants prepped for the arrival of JC's flight. Finally, they
could see the plane moving into position and the walkway moving to connect
with the forward hatch.

"You think he splurged on first-class or kept some of those cobwebs in his
wallet undisturbed?" Justin asked.

"We'll find out soon enough. There he is. Must've gone first-class."

The pair began moving toward their friend, when all of a sudden, another
guy approached JC and greeted him. He was tall, slender, blond, rather well
dressed. He was actually rather hot looking, Lance thought to himself. JC
had a big grin on his face when he said hello to the man.

Justin froze when he saw who the other man was. He grabbed Lance to stop
him.

"What? We're going to lose him."

"Ahh, Lance, I think he already made some other arrangements."

"That's OK, we can still welcome him home even if he did arrange for a
driver. Come on."

"Wait up, Lance. I don't think it's a good idea right now."

"What are you talking about? Let's go."

"James, I don't think JC would be too happy right now if we surprised
him. Trust me on this right now. I'll explain it when we get to the car."

Lance was a bit upset, but he knew something must be wrong. Justin called
him "James" again. That only happens when Justin is really serious. So for
now, he kept silent as the two made it back to the parking lot and to
Lance's vehicle.

Once they were both seated, Lance stared over at Justin. "What's the deal?
How come we had to leave without talking to JC?"

"It was that guy," Justin began slowly. "The one who picked up JC."

"What about him? Do you know him?"

"Yes."

"And?"

"If I tell you, promise me that you won't be upset with either me or JC?"

"What?"

"Just promise me."

Lance was thoroughly confused by now, but also more curious than ever. What
could possibly have Justin freaked out like this? "I promise. After all
we've been through, of course I'll promise. Now what's this guy's story?"
