Subject: mitch and lance

-Welcome to the next edition of Mitch and lance. I am going to do something
a little different than what I originally planned and that not many if any
do here at nifty. I am going to switch the point of view in which it is
told. This edition will be in Lance's point of view. The next one will
return to Mitch's point of view. The part with lance as the narrator will be
the same as the previous, just in Lance's eyes, which will help with the
plot A LOT. I have pretty much the rest of the story planned out. If you
can somehow guess what will end up happening in the end of the story, then I
will personally send you a copy of each edition to your e-mail two days
before it is released on nifty. Also if you have any suggestions as to what
should happen, please e-mail them to me. I know what the final outcome will
be and some other major details but all the minor stuff has not figured out,
so if you would like to help with some of the minor stuff e-mail me at
h_ulery@hotmail.com. If I use one of your ideas as a major happening in the
story, you will receive the stories sent to you two days in advance.

--This story in no way is implying that any members of the band 'N Sync are
gay. This story is completely fiction. All chatacters are made up. So with
out having to wait any more, Here is the story.

-I know I have probably bored you with all of this stuff for those that are
actually reading this. And now on with the story

Mitch and Lance Part 1 -- Lance's perspective

I saw him walk into the coffee shop. He looked kinda sad. He was also kinda
cute. But that wasn't the only thing about him. I could sense something more
from him but I couldn't tell what.

After watching him for a while, I decided he was pretty sad and that he
could use some cheering up. I slowly walked over to him and lightly tapped
him on his shoulder.

"What do you want?" he asked in a low and quiet voice.

"I saw you sitting over here by your self and I was just wondering if you
wanted some company." I said hoping he would let me sit and talk to him I
never like seeing anyone as sad as he was at this very moment.

"Oh thanks, but I'm fine by..." he said as he started to look up. All of a
sudden, He had a shocked expression on his face. I knew he would recognize
me.

"Are you ok?" I said barely chuckling when I saw the expression on his
face.

"Yeah. It's just that I didn't realize you who you were." he said as he
stood up. "My names Mitchell but most people call me Mitch. You can have a
seat if you'd like."

"Well, Mitch, I'd love to have a seat and talk to you." I said with a
smile. He actually wanted to talk. That was a good sign. Maybe we would
become friends. Maybe more...

"If you don't mind me asking so, What in the world are you doing at the
hospital and why this one?" He asked me. I was sort of taken aback by the
question. I could tell he had a bunch of questions for me, but he didn't ask
them. He probably knew what I had been through with all the screaming girls.
All those girls really get on my nerves. It was nice to actually find a GUY
that knew who I was.

"I don't mind. We were practicing our dance routine, when Justin slipped
and fell. HE broke his arm." I would have to thank him later for breaking
his arm. If it weren't for him I wouldn't be here talking to him.

"Oh I see." he said. He didn't say much, but that was understandable. After
all I am Lance Bass and he obviously was still a little star struck.

"So, why are you here?" I asked him. I wasn't too sure if he would be
comfortable telling me but I figured it would be worth the try.

"Well, My grandmother is in here. She hasn't been doing to well lately. I
am here almost all day long. I have been for the past week. Some of the
Nurses and I are on a first name basis already."

"What's wrong with your grandma?" I asked him. I still wasn't too sure he
would open up to me but surprisingly he did.

"The doctor isn't exactly sure. But she seemed a little better today. She
at least had the strength to yell at me for being late this morning. She
always was one for being on time. Too bad I'm not the same way."

"Speaking of being late, If you don't go now, she will be mad at you for
being late for visiting hours." I said with a sad tone. I didn't want the
conversation to be cut short. But I didn't want his grandmother to worry
about him.

"Ok. Nice meeting you. Maybe well see each other again. It was really fin
talking." Mitch said standing. We shook hands and we went separate ways.
Maybe Mitch would be here for a while after visiting hours. But he's
probably tired. He didn't seem too interested in talking anyway.

I walked into Justin's room. Immediately I began to be question with where
were you and why are you late.

"Sorry guys I was talking." Was all I said I didn't wanna tell them that I
was talking to a really cute guy that I just couldn't keep my eyes off of. I
didn't talk much the whole time I just stared out the window.

"Guys I'm really tired. I'm gonna go home. I'll get a cab." I said trying
to get out of the hospital as soon as possible. I didn't really like
hospitals all too much.

"If that's what you want Scoop, We don't care" J.C. said with a reassuring
voice. I stood up and slowly walked out the door. When I arrived at the
elevator, I saw Mitch. We said hello to each other. Other than that we
didn't say much. We were about out of the hospital when over the loud
speaker we heard "Code Blue in room 2150. Code Blue in room 2150."

"Oh my god" Mitch yelled. I could tell something was definitely wrong

"What? What is it?" I said in a concerned manner.

"Room 2150. That's my grandmother's room. It was nice meeting you Lance I
gotta go see what's wrong." He said as he started to go back toward the
elevator. I started following him.

"I'm coming with you." I said in a forceful voice.

"You don't have to.," he said running to the elevator and pushing the up
button. I quickly jumped in. I knew I had to be there for him.

"But I want to be there for you" I replied with a semi smile on his face. I
knew this wasn't exactly the time to be smiling.

When we got to the floor there were doctors and nurses running around all
over the place. Mitch went up to a nurse and asked her what was wrong.

"I'm not allowed to release that information to anyone but family." She told
him. He didn't look to pleased with her.

"I'm her grandson." He protested. I was ready to jump in and defend him if I
had too.

"Oh. Well, we don't know exactly what happened as of yet sir but if you
could wait over in the waiting room" she said pointing to the waiting room
"I'll let you know as soon as I know."

We went over to the waiting room and sat down. I could see that he was just
about ready to cry. I was ready for if he would start crying. I knew that he
would need to be comforted and I was the only one there that could do it.
Fifteen minutes later, the nurse came to the waiting room. She didn't look
too happy.

"I'm sorry sir but she didn't make it" She said. It looked almost as if the
nurse was gonna cry too. I could see that Mitch was having a hard time
holding the tears back. He started to cry. Almost immediately out of
instinct, I gave him a comforting hug. I knew he would need someone to
comfort him. I had never lost anyone so close to me as a grandmother, but I
had somewhat of an idea what he was going through. After a while he started
to calm down. I began to relax a little more. I was now starting to get
uncomfortable from sitting there so long. It had to be about 30 minutes or
so. After a while a started to get up and I said to him, "Come on. I think
its time I get you home."

"That's ok, I can drive myself home." he said trying to be forceful, but he
wasn't very successful.

"I insist that you let me take you home. You are in no condition to drive,
and you really need someone to be there for you." I said with a smile. I
stood up and held out my hand to help him up. He excepted right away. We
took the elevator down to his car. We got in and I drove him to his house.
He fell asleep on the way home, so I very carefully searched through his
pockets to find my keys. I tried not to disturb him too much while I
searched his pockets. I unlocked the door and helped Mitch inside. I laid
him down on the couch while I went to find his room. I wasn't too sure if
the room was his but I guess it didn't really matter. I quietly went back to
the living room and found him still sleeping in the exact same place where I
had left me. I picked him up again and helped him into his room. He seemed
to be a little heavier than before. But it didn't bother me much. I was only
worried about getting him to his bed so he wouldn't have to sleep on the
couch. I didn't bother to undress him because I figured that he would wake
up. That and I wasn't too sure if I would be able to do that to someone I
just met. I went into another room and got a pillow and blanket. I had
decided I would sleep on the floor in his room so that if he were to have a
dream about what had happened or incase he woke up and remembered. I had a
hard time getting to sleep. I just kept replaying that evenings events in my
head. He slept without any problems. I had slept pretty well once I finally
fell asleep.

I woke up to the smell of food. I decided to go get a shower. At one point
I thought I heard the door to the bedroom open but I didn't let it bother
me. While in the shower, all I could think about was Mitch. He did look
really cute, but I knew that I couldn't take advantage of him. I wasn't even
sure if he was gay. I decided that I would tell him later. I had to tell him
before we became too good of friends then he found out and hated me. I
didn't want to have to keep this from him any longer than I had to.

I got out of the shower and got dressed. I went into the kitchen. Mitch set
a plate of food in front of me. He then sat down across from me. He didn't
have any food for himself. I gave him a strange look.

"What's wrong?" he asked sounding puzzled.

"Aren't you gonna eat?" I asked.

"No. I don't usually eat breakfast. Besides that I have really been
watching what I eat. I usually only eat supper anyhow."

"Well, you really should eat more. You can have some of mine if you want."
I said with a smile on my face. I didn't want him to go hungry.

"You are starting to sound like my grandmother. She was always concerned
about my eating habits. I couldn't do that to you anyhow." He said to me. He
kinda sounded a little sad when he said it. I knew that talking about his
grandmother would be hard for a while.

"Well what if I were to insist that you eat some of my food." I said with a
grin on his face. Last night I insisted on taking him home and he agreed.
Maybe I could get him to eat something by insisting upon it.

"You really like insisting on things don't you," He said with a smile on
his face. I could tell it was only half forced.

"I always have to have my way," I said smiling at him. Well not always but
most of the time.

"Well I insist that you eat it all while I go shower. I haven't showered in
a few days. I spent all my time at the hospital and by the time I got home I
was too tired to." he said walking to his room. I went up to his room after
I finished eating. I would wait in there for him and find out if he wanted
to do something later that day. But to my surprise when he got out of the
shower, he wasn't wearing anything. I quickly got up and ran from the room
while yelling, "I am SO sorry Mitch." I didn't know how I would ever be able
to face him again.

I quickly ran into the kitchen. I sat at the table and just stared at
nothing. Moments later he appeared.

"What's wrong Lance?" he asked. He had a touch of concern in his voice.

"Huh?" I said snapping out of my trance. "Oh nothings wrong I was just
thinking about something. Look about what just happened. I didn't mean for
it to happen." I was just thinking. Yeah thinking about him standing there
without an clothing on. Come on Lance You cant be having the feelings for
him you just met him.

"I know you didn't mean for it to happen. It was just an accident."

"Yes exactly an accident." I said. Then out surprisingly I said. "But if
you don't mind me saying so you really have a nice body." What was I
thinking. How stupid could I be now I ruined it.

"Look. Let's just forget about it." I said. But he wasn't paying attention.
I waved my hand in front of his face.

"Is something wrong?" I asked with a sad expression on my face. "You seem
to just blank out sometimes."

"Sorry. I just have a lot going through my mind."

"Well, If it's anything you want to talk about I am here for you." I said
with a smile. Maybe he would tell me what he was thinking about. I had a lot
to ask him too.

"Thanks maybe we can talk a little later."

"Ok cool. But can you do me a favor."

"Sure. Anything for you after all you have done for me."

"Can you take me back to my house. I need to check in with the guys and
management. They are probably mad at me already for not going back last
night."

"Sure. Let me get my keys. We can take my BMW this time."

"You have a BMW? What kind?" Wow a BMW. I figured he had some money but not
that much. But money didn't matter. Neither did looks. But he looked so
cute.

	"It's an M Series Convertible."

"Cool. What are my chances of driving?" I said. I doubted he would let me
drive but it was worth a try.

"Slim to none." he said with a grin on his face. I just gave him a puppy
dogface. I usually works on most people. "Alright. You can drive. How could
I possibly say no to a face like that?" Yes! It worked.

We got out to the car and I jumped in the driver's seat and he got in the
passenger's seat. "If you scratch it any way, I will kill you." He said it
so seriously. It was the most serious thing he had said to me the whole 12
hours or so that I knew him.

"Ok I'll try not to scratch it." I knew what he response would be.

"You better do more than try. I've only ever driven the car once and I
don't want it to get ruined on the second drive." He said in the most
serious tone he could possibly use. I just nodded his head to say that I
understood. We were at my house within 15 minutes, which wasn't really bad
considering it was getting close to noon and we had to push through lunch
time traffic. I pulled around to the back and turned the car off. I then
slowly turned to me and said,
"Look, It was really nice getting to know you yesterday and today. Maybe we
could get together over dinner and talk just the two of us. We could talk
about what you were saying we could talk about later." I said. I deep down
really wanted

"I would really like that." he said as looked deep into my eyes. Without
realizing we started to lean in towards each other. Then it happened. We
kissed. Neither of us could believe it. When it happened, Things inside my
head were starting to go crazy. I thought it was a dream or something, But
we actually were kissing. Just then I quickly pulled away and got out of the
car. I think I sort of surprised him.

"I gotta go get ready for tonight." I said with a huge smile on my face.
"I'll pick you up around 6:00. Be ready."

I went inside. I picked up the phone and called Justin and the guys.

	"Hello. Curly here."

"Hi Curly. This is scoop. I need everyone at my house in 30 minutes."

	"Why? Is something wrong?"

"No. Just be here please. I'll explain when you get here."
