For those of you that have been waiting for a "Josh's Heart" update I am
very sorry but I felt that this story needed a lot of attention lately but
expect one by the end of the month.

I got a lot of good responses from the last chapter, especially the parts
dealing with Trevor and racial issues. I'm glad no one took offense to it
and realized that I did it to open some eyes. Kdawg and myself have been
working on an idea for something big so expect something from me and him
soon in nifty news. I'm sorry for not really being around in the Nifty
community lately but school is almost over and the work is really piling
up.

This chapter is dedicated to the Canadian...thanks for always being there
for me.

All I Need Is You-Chapter Eight

The Pop Odyssey tour rolled on throughout the country, hitting mostly only
the hottest spots they could find. All of the acts enjoyed it thoroughly
not usually getting time to share their talent with other amazing
groups. It may have been fun but at the same time it wasn't easy. O-town
and Backstreet Boys were both in the middle of current tours and were going
to resume them as soon as this tour was over. Management understood this
and tried their hardest to get them into the cities a little earlier than

"How do I look?" Devon asked as he stepped out of the bathroom wearing a
black sweater with blue stripes around the arms and tan khakis. His hair,
kept shorter than usual from the last movie was spiked up as he tried to
get back to his natural dark blonde color.

"As beautiful as the first day I met you." Dan said as he walked over to

"The first time I met you was in a gym. I was sweaty and gross." Devon said

"That's what made you sexy." Dan said with a smile.

of the men got out and walked up to the host. Nick whispered something in

grabbed four menus and brought the group onto a balcony section.

The section was completely empty and would stay that way due to Nick's
generous tip.  The host closed the doors that led to the restaurant and
left open only one that led from the kitchen out.

"Nick work Nick." Devon said as he patted the fellow blonde on the back.

"Thanks, I have a way with people I guess." Nick said with a toothy smile.

All of them had a laugh and sat down and looked over the menu. A bottle of
wine was brought out for the men and all of them ordered and started
conversation.

"Do you guys remember the last time we had a double date?" Devon asked

"How can I forget?" Ashley said

"What do you mean? I forgot" Nick asked trying to remember.

"It was the night we played strip beer pong." Dan said jogging Nick's
memory.

"Oh yeah." Nick said as he immediately turned red remember how close to
naked he was.

"Awww, look he's blushing." Ashley said with a smile.

"C'mon Nick, that's not the only time you've been practically naked.
Remember when you dove into the pool after Lance missed his punch. Those
boxers weren't exactly hiding anything." Devon said with a laugh.

"I can't take you anywhere" Ashley said with a laugh

"What is this? Pick on Nick night?" Nick asked with a laugh

"Now those are some memories." Dan said reminiscently

"It's been some fun times since that first tour together." Ashley said.

"I can't believe we've come this far. I mean you two are married now. How
crazy is that?" Dan asked.

"Yeah well what about you two. You guys have had to fight just as much as
us to get this far and now you guys are only 4 months away from getting
married." Nick said

"That was one of the reasons we wanted to have dinner with you guys
tonight." Dan said

"You guys aren't having cold feet are you?" Ashley asked

"No, no, not that at all. We just wanted to know if you two wanted to be
our best men."  Dan said

A smile formed on Ashley's lips as he remembered how Dan has always been
there for him and what an honor it would be to do this.

"You know I'd consider it a privilege." Ashley said.

He looked over at his husband who was looking a little confused.

"Something wrong Nick?" Dan asked him

"Are you sure you want me doing this Dev, I mean Dan and Ash have always
been close and as much as I consider you a friend you only get to pick
one. Are you sure you want it to be me? I guess it's just weird for me
because no one has ever given me such an honor."  Nick said as he rambled.

Devon reached across the table on put his hand on Nick's shoulder.

"Nick, I don't have a lot of friends in this world but you've always been
there when I needed to talk or needed support for me and Dan. You're the
first person that came to my head when I thought about it. I want you to be
my best man." Devon said

"Ok I would love to do it." Nick said with a tear in his eye.

The four men finished dinner enjoying the good times that they always
shared together.  They finished up the wine and their meals and decided
that it was a good time to get going home. All of the men were getting into
the limo when Ashley noticed a commotion from inside the restaurant.

The host was holding back a man who was obviously trying to get to the four
men.  Ashley could tell he was screaming out something and causing a
ruckus.  Ashley could have sworn that he recognized the guy from somewhere
and then it dawned on him. It was the guy from the airport with the weird
sign about him being his twin brother.

Ashley dismissed the thought of it as just a crazy fan and was thankful
that they had such good bodyguards. If it happened again he might have to
get the cops to do something about it but he remembers what it was like
trying to get to see your favorite stars.

'Just some crazy fan. If he gets this close again I might have to talk to
him to see if he's dangerous or not' Ashley thought to himself as he
dismissed it and got in the limo.


"Janie what the hell are you doing here?" Jacob asked as he closed the door
to the conference room that the hotel let him use.

"I came back to see you silly" Janie said as he put her arms around him.

Jacob pushed her off of him.

"Janie, we broke it off when I joined O-town. You said you couldn't be with
me." Jacob said recalling the harsh memories.

"I was stupid Jake. I'm sorry." Janie said as Jacob winced at the nickname
that AJ always used for him.

"It's a little late for that." Jacob said as he began to walk out.

He was about to pass by her when she grabbed him by the arm and pulled him
into a kiss.

"Tell me that meant nothing to you." Janie yelled

Jacob pulled her back into a close embrace and looked her straight in the
eyes and said "Nothing" and let her go.

"What's the matter with you? What the hell happened to you?" Janie screamed
out.

Jacob never turned around. He stared at the door and put his hand against
it. He took a deep sigh.

"I'm sorry Janie, there's someone else." Jacob said lowly as he opened the
door and left leaving his one-time love in the room by herself.

The elevator opened at the 5th floor of the hotel and Jacob stumbled out
just wanting to lay down next to his boyfriend. He got to his door and
noticed a note on it.  It read:

" Jake,
          I'm sorry but I needed some time alone to think about it all.
                            Alex"

Jacob grabbed the note and crumpled it in his hands. He turned around and
leaned on the door letting his back slide down until his butt reached the
floor. He put his head down and closed his eyes. It felt like minutes but
it might have been hours until he heard a voice.

"You ok kid?" the voice said

Jacob looked up and saw Howie sitting on the floor next to him.

"Huh? Oh yeah I'm alright. What's up Howie?" Jacob said.

"Nothing really, was just about to go grab some dinner and saw you on the
floor. That's usually a bad sign."

"Yeah well" Jacob said as he started to feel the awkwardness between the
two. The last time the two had really spent time together was the night
that Nick and Ashley declared that they were getting married. Howie ended
up kissing AJ that night, even though neither of them really meant it. It
was still a sore spot with Jacob though.

"What's wrong?" Howie asked

"What do you care?" Jacob said coldly and regretted it as soon as he said
it.

"I deserved that. Jacob, I never meant what I did that night and I thank
God every day that it didn't tear you guys apart. It was hard for me to let
go of Alex as a friend. Brian was always with Nick, Kevin was always with
management or Kristin and me and Bone were tight. I got real jealous when
he found comfort in you instead of me after a while."  Howie said.

Jacob gave no response, simply looked out into space trying to take in
everything.

"I'm just trying to tell you to give him time to think everything through
and he'll come back. You're the best thing that ever happened to him. He
knows that." Howie said as he patted Jacob on the shoulder and got up.

As Howie was walking away, Jacob got up and said, "Howie."

The dark-haired man stopped and turned around.

"Thanks." Jacob said with a small smile.

"No problem kid." Howie said as he walked away.
