DISCLAIMER: I don't know O-town or the Backstreet Boys or N'Sync and am not
implying anything. This is just fantasy and if homosexual content offends

FIRST THINGS FIRST: Thanks once again to Jayson(my closest friend at Nifty)
and Kyriel for doing sideline projects for me for Dan and Devon and for AJ
and Jacob. Jayson is finished with his and it is amazing and should be in
the directory. Kyriel's is about halfway done and is also amazing and that
should be out soon.

Another shoutout to my good buddy Alex who is a new author here on Nifty.
He writes "Fame, Love and Reality" an excellent BSB story. He has worked
extremely hard to get this far and deserves every good word that comes to

Two last people I'd like to thank even though I've never had more than a
two-minute conversation with either of them. First is JM, author of "Brian
and Justin". His story helped me out so much when I first started reading
here at Nifty 4 years ago. A lot of my writing style is like his and I mean
no disrespect by taking it but I do it without realizing it because he has
been a tremendous influence on me. Wherever you are JM, thank you and good
luck in your travels. The other person is David, director of Nifty. No one
thanks him enough for actually keeping this site up. Nifty saved me when I
was down and David is the man so throw him some love.

Nick and Ashley-Chapter Thirty-One

Devon Sawa stood in his dressing room on the first day of the shooting for
"Road Trip 2", the much awaited sequel to the hilarious comedy of 4 kids
driving across the country, experiencing an adventure that only 4 college
kids could. The new cast was a little different this time, however as the
actors who played Kyle and Ruben had departed on good terms. No problem
here as young Canadian actor Devon Sawa was called in along with Matthew
Lillard, previously of "Scream", "Summer Catch", and "Serial Mom".

Devon sat looking in the mirror at an image of himself that he didn't'
quite recognize. He ran his hand through his now very short hair, died
platinum blond for the movie. 'I'm gonna have to get used to this' he
thought to himself as he took off his glasses and put his contacts in. As
he was finishing he heard a voice come from the door.

"Miss the golden locks huh?" Matthew Lillard said as he leaned against the
door with his arms folded.

"Yeah definitely. I guess it shows I'm growing up though right?" Devon said
with a laugh.

"Yeah I remember when we were kids being so jealous of how easily your hair
fell over your face.

"Yeah well things change over time I guess." Devon said a statement that
pretty much summed up his whole life.

"I guess they do." Matt said as he walked over to Devon, both men embracing
in a hug.

"It's been a while Matt." Devon said.

"Too long." Matt replied talking about the time where they were very close
on the set of 'S.L.C. Punk'

"I see you've been successful since then." Devon said.

"You too buddy. It's good to be working with you again. You always bring
out my best acting." Matt replied.

"Yeah well I do my best." Devon said.

"You haven't forgot about me have you Dev?" Matt asked

Flashbacks came flying through Devon's head of the time that he and Matt
would spend in their trailer together experimenting with each other's
bodies. Matt and Devon were each other's firsts for everything. They never
took it past friendship but Devon had never forgotten about it.

"That was a long time ago Matt." Devon replied

"I never forgot about it." Matt said.

"Me neither but we strayed since then. Besides, I'm with someone now."
Devon said.

"Who's the lucky guy to have this stud?" Matt asked as he punched Devon in
the arm.

"I'm supposed to keep it a secret." Devon said with a frown on his face.

"It's gotta be someone good then." Matt said, which drew a laugh out of his
friend. "We never kept secrets from each other Dev. Who is it?" Matt asked

"Dan Miller of O-town." Devon replied

"Nice Dev, very nice." Matt said as Devon blushed. "How long you guys been
together now?" He asked "4 months or so." Devon replied

"Damn man, impressive. Look, I'm sorry if I came on a little too strong
before. I didn't realize you were with someone and I just thought maybe we
could pick up where we left off but I don't wanna mess anything up." Matt
said looking at his feet.

"Don't worry about it Mill, I still think of you as a great friend." Devon
said, which drew a smile from Matt exchanging the nickname that he had
called him so long ago.

"Thanks Dev, I don't have many of those these days." Matt said looking into
Devon's eyes revealing a lonely person.

"Hey, I'm going to lunch with Danny, why don't you come with me and you can
meet him." Devon said.

"Nah I don't wanna impose." Matt said

"Alright, whatever you're coming." Devon said as he flashed the smile that
had made him famous. Matt loved that smile and wanted Devon so badly. He
nearly jumped at the idea of working with him again but he knew that Devon
had something good and wouldn't think about breaking it up. It's not his
style to do that to one of his only friends in the world but this feeling
of loneliness was beginning to get a little unbearable.


"Alright everyone can take a break except for Dan and Trevor. The others
can get lunch." Kyle, O-town's producer told the boys as he left the room.

"Damn, I guess I gotta call Dev and tell him I can't make it to lunch." Dan
said as he began to pull out his phone.

"Don't worry about it Danny, I'll go meet him for lunch. I'm sure he needs
a break from the movie set." Ashley said to his friend. "Besides it will
get my mind off of Nick."

Now that the two bands were no longer touring with each other, they of
course had separate studios and separate promotional activities so it was
hard for the two lovers since they were spoiled by seeing each other all
the time while on tour.

"Don't worry Danny, I'll go too and make sure he doesn't try to steal your
boyfriend." Jacob said putting his arm around Dan.

"Haha Ash is probably the one person that I wouldn't have to worry about."
Dan said with a laugh.

"Yeah true, just look at the rock on his finger." Jacob said holding up
Ashley's left hand revealing the promise ring transformed into engagement
band. He and Nick had taken a trip to the jewelry store this weekend and
had both their bands laced with a few diamonds. "That thing gets bigger
every time I look at it." Jacob said with a laugh.


Devon saw Ashley and Jacob walk through the door of a local Friendly's
where he was supposed to meet Dan for lunch. He gave them each a hug, happy
to see them but confused as to the inconspicuous absence of his boyfriend.

"Sorry buddy, Danny couldn't make it. Kyle needed him for extra vocals in
the studio." Ashley said.

"Shit, oh well. I guess you won't be able to meet him Matt but these two
guys aren't so bad. Matt Lillard, meet Ashley Angel and Jacob Underwood of
O-town." Devon said as he introduced his co-star to the other two men.

Jacob reached out and shook his hand first and after pleasantries were
exchanged Ashley came into focus. Ashley shook Matt's hands and brought his
eyes up to see Devon's friend since he was always taught that the eyes were
the way to really understand a person. He looked up into those brown eyes
and couldn't move. They both knew of each other but neither had met before.

Matt felt electricity flow through his right hand like lightning while
shaking Ashley's hand. He was a fan of O-town and like many other people

Matt had a feeling that this person could be the answer to a lot of his

Ashley knew quite well about this boundary but that handshake was with the
right hand, and Ashley seemed to forget about the other one. A handshake
that lasted two seconds but felt like an eternity to both men. Ashley
quickly snapped out of the trance when Devon asked if they wanted to sit
down and order. Ashley needed to get out of the situation for a second. He
told his friends that he would be right back and went into the bathroom, a
thankfully empty bathroom. He needed to get away from people for two
seconds and just think.

He walked into the men's room and looked in the mirror. 'What the hell was
that Ash?' he thought to himself. He wasn't sure what to make of what just
happened. For the first time since he was with Nick, he had actually felt
differently for another man. Was this a normal feeling that he should
experience? Why had it never happened before if it was? What was happening
here? He needed to see Nick.

"Hey guys, sorry Kyle just called me back into the studio so I'm gonna have
to jet." Ashley explained to his friends as he walked back to the table
avoiding eye contact with Matt.

"Everything alright Ash?" Jacob asked.

"Yeah just gotta go fix some vocals or something, who knows. I'll catch up
with you guys later. Nice meeting you Matt." Ashley said trying to play it
off walking out towards the parking lot. He was finally out of there,
thanking God that he had taken a separate car in case he needed to run
errands or something. He got on the interstate and bit his nails all the
way to the studio that the Backstreet Boys were using.


Trevor finished up his vocals and was sitting in the lobby talking with
Erik, watching Dan through the studio window belt out the remaining vocals
needed for the new songs on the upcoming album.

"Hey Erik, you ever think where we'd be if Ikaika didn't leave and we
didn't get Danny?" Trevor asked his friend.

"Not here, I can guarantee. That kid was like a breathe of fresh air for
us.  None of us took this seriously enough until he came in." Erik replied.

"Yeah I remember that, the two of us used to party like crazy. Those were
fun times though. You remember that one time...?" Trevor began to ask but
was cut off by a snore. He looked over to see his friend sleeping, passed
out from the exhaustion of promotions, studio work and photo shoots. "I
guess he still parties that hard." Trevor said with a laugh and got up to
walk around.

He walked down the long corridor that contained offices and conference
rooms that were used when the guys didn't rent out the studio, mainly
meeting for executives and other things. He was about to turn around when
someone grabbed him and pulled him into one of the aforementioned
offices. It was completely dark and Trevor was scared at first but then
even through the darkness he saw two green crystals that belonged to only
