Subject: "Nick and Justin" part 26

OK, so it's a little late. :o) This is part 26. This story has lasted
longer and gone more places than I thought it would when I first started.
I'd like to thank everyone who has supported me through the many
transformations this has gone through. I'm not gonna get mushy or anything
here, but it does mean a lot to me. So, welcome to part 26, and I hope
everyone continues to enjoy this story. I don't see an end in sight, so it
appears as though this is gonna go on for quite some time.

RJ is my partner in crime in the series "Lost and Found" which should be
updated in a couple of days. If you haven't seen it, give it a look. It's
still relatively new, but it's going places.

If you want to e-mail me, you can reach me at BrwyMilo@aol.com. I love
mail, so keep it coming.

This story is purely fiction and is not meant to imply anything about the
sexuality or beliefs of anyone involved. That said, enjoy the story.

                    *****

"I know you guys have more energy than that," Devon yelled from the
foot of the stage. "Come on, don't make me pull out the coffee and sugar
pills." The music was blaring through the stadium in as the boys rehearsed
in preparation for their first concert which was just a few days away.
Devon was pushing them as hard as he could, but still tried to be aware of
everything that they were going through. He kept a careful eye on Kevin as
he danced. "Kevin-" he began. He saw Kevin look up at him sadly.
"Nothing. You're doing good." Kevin gave him a small nod and continued
with the routine. Devon continued to watch as the guys rehearsed. They
weren't doing too badly, but it was very evident that they were exhausted.
As the music came to an end, the boys took their places for the next song.
The intro started.

    "Cut the music," Devon yelled.

"What," Fatima said from the sidelines.

"Cut the music," Devon repeated. With that, the music was turned
off. Everyone looked at Devon surprised as he walked over to them. He put
one hand behind his neck and sighed heavily. "You guys are falling asleep
up there aren't you?"

"Just a little," Howie admitted with a yawn. "It's been rough."

"Yea, I know," Devon said. He watched as Fatima walked over to
observe his conversation. "Where's N'Sync?"

Nick giggled a bit and pointed over to the side of the stage where
they lay sleeping. "They're pretty tired too."

"Well, you guys really can't do anything when you're like this,"
Devon said. "So, everyone's done for the day."

"They are not done for the day," Fatima said with an attitude.
Devon shot her a look.

"Yes, they are. They're dropping up there."

"Devon, they need to rehearse. You can't just back down whenever they
whine or are tired."

"Fatima, can I speak with you please," he said as he walked towards
the end of the stage away from the guys. Fatima stormed after him.

    "What the hell do you-"

"You will never do that again," Devon said angrily. "You gave me
this job to do and I'm going to do it the best way I know. And what I know
right now is that they know the steps. They can do the dances in their
sleep which is basically what they're doing. If they're so tired that they
can't pay attention to what they're doing then they're no good and the
practice is a waste of time. The shows are going to take a lot out of them
and it's better to let them get a day of rest a few days before the show
than have them falling over the day before the first concert."

"They need to rehearse," Fatima said, her eyes growing wide.

"They will rehearse," Devon replied just as angrily. "But as for
today, they're done. Both groups have done a few of their routines and the
steps are all fine, they just have no energy. They're not going anywhere
tonight, and I'm doing bed checks to make sure everyone is asleep."

"And what about Lance," she said.

"What about Lance," Devon asked suspiciously.

"You gonna make sure he's in bed too I bet," she shot at him.

"Yes Fatima, I am going to make sure Lance is in bed as well."

"Are you going to be in there with him," she asked with one eyebrow
cocked. Devon stared at her in disbelief for a few seconds.

"What I choose to do with my life is none of your concern," he said
angrily.

"Well when everyone is falling asleep, it becomes my concern. What
exactly is up with you and Lance," she asked as she folded her arms across
her chest.

"Nothing that I care to discuss with you right now Fatima," Devon
said with a sigh. He looked away from her for a second and when he looked
back up she could see he had tears in his eyes. She had always tried to
protect Devon, almost as much as she always tried to protect her boys.
Seeing him like this made her heart melt. What made it worse was that she
had caused the tears.

"I'm sorry Devon," she said as she went to hug him. "I'm sorry
about asking about Lance and I'm sorry about questioning your methods. It
won't happen again. I trust you enough to know that you know what you're
doing. I just don't like being in the passenger seat here. You know
me...the control freak," she said with a grin.

Devon smiled a bit. "It's alright. I know you're not used to
letting someone else take authority."

"Ok, so I'm just gonna sit there and mind my business from now on.
You're totally in control here, alright?"

"Alright," Devon said. He kissed her quickly on the cheek and
walked back over to the guys.

"We didn't get you in trouble did we," Brian asked with concern.

"No," Devon laughed. "You didn't get me in trouble. You guys have
the day off. But please, you have to have more energy tomorrow. We do need
to rehearse."

"We know," Kevin said, not meeting Devon's eyes. "Everyone will be
ready to go tomorrow."

"Ok then," Devon said clapping his hands together. "Get out of
here."

"We should wake those guys up," AJ laughed. He saw Chris and Joey
huddled close together. "I think it's a Kodak moment though."

"AJ, you're not going to...," Howie said with a laugh.

"Just one," AJ grinned. He saw Kevin give him a look. "It's a
polaroid. We don't even have to go get them developed." With that, he
elaborately tip-toed over to the sleeping band and took a shot. The flash
sent everyone jumping.

"What was that," Chris asked. He saw Joey's face inches from his
own and shot up. "Ew, morning breath," he said with a laugh.

"Is that anyway to talk to your sweetheart," Nick laughed.

"What," Chris said with a laugh. AJ waved the developing photo in
front of Chris's eyes and laughed loudly. Chris grabbed at it, but AJ
quickly ran away.

"Oh come on, we're gonna get it in poster size," AJ laughed as he
dodged Chris. Chris finally ran out of breath and stopped.

"Children," he said with a laugh. "You're all children."

Nick walked over to Justin slowly and sat down on the floor next to
him. "How are you feeling," Nick asked.

"Tired," he replied with a yawn. "Very tired."

"You can take a nap back at the hotel. We're done for the day,"
Nick said.

Justin's eyes shot open as he looked over at Devon. "Thanks Dev!"
Devon gave him a small wave and smiled. "So, what do you want to do today,"
Justin asked with a grin.

"Well, get some sleep," Nick said innocently. "Maybe take a swim
later. We really can't go out tonight, or Fatima will kill us."

"OK, we can stay in." They looked at each other. "Room service,"
Justin asked.

"Room service," Nick replied with a laugh.

"Well let's get back to the hotel then," Justin said. "I'm
exhausted."

                    *****
"This feels so wonderful," Lance said. He lay in bed, his head
against Devon's chest, his arms wrapped tightly around him.

"I know what you mean," Devon said as he began to play with Lance's
hair. "You have the coolest hair, you now that?"

"Why thank you," Lance said with a laugh. He sighed and shut his
eyes. "So we can we just stay like this all the time," Lance asked.

"Well, we might get bed soars," Devon replied with a grin.

"That's ok. I don't mind," Lance said, still smiling. There was a
knock on the door. "We're not answering that," Lance said as he relaxed
further.

"We're not home," Devon yelled with a laugh.

"Come on, open up," he could hear Brian's voice say. Devon looked
at Lance who nodded his head. Devon threw his robe on over himself and
strolled over
to the door. "Hey Brian. What's up," he said as he pulled the door open.

"Hi Devon," Brian said as he looked into the room and spotted Lance.
"Um, I was wondering if I could talk to Lance for a little while.
Like...privately?"

"Oh, yea sure," Devon said. "If it's alright with Lance." Devon
threw a look over at Lance who merely nodded nervously. "Just let me put
some clothes on."

"You can wait in my room if you want," Brain said.

"Oh, yea sure," Devon replied. "Ok, just come get me when you're
done then." With that he walked out of the room.

Brian stared at Lance for a moment from the doorway, before stepping
fully into the room and shutting the door behind him. "We need to talk."

                    *****

'Brian was acting kind of funny,' Devon thought to himself as he
walked down the hall towards Brian's room. 'Why did he need to talk to
Lance in private?' He stopped in front of Brian' room and paused. 'I can
always just go for a swim.' He looked down and realized he was naked under
his robe. "Never mind," he said aloud as he opened the door to Brian's
room. He walked in slowly and looked around. He stopped dead in his tracks
and stared at the person sitting on the bed. "Hello Kevin."

                    *****

"What is it Brian," Lance asked as he sat up in the bed, trying to
keep the covers wrapped around him.

"I was just thinking that it's probably about time that we had a
talk," Brian said as he sat down next to Lance. "I mean, we really never
did get a chance to after...you know."

"Yes Brian, I know," Lance said as he inhaled deeply. "I thought
you didn't want to."

"Part of me didn't," Brian admitted. "I guess I felt stupid for
what happened." He saw Lance look away. "That didn't come out right."

"I bet it didn't," Lance replied.

"Look, I didn't come here to try to hurt you. I came here to
resolve this." Brian paused and slowly put his arm around Lance's shoulder.
Lance flinched, but didn't remove it. "The night I spent with you was one
the best of my life Lance. And I should have told you that sooner. But I
was so worried about losing JC again, I couldn't do it."

"JC still hates me though, doesn't he? He hasn't spoken to me
really since he saw us," Lance replied.

"JC will be fine," Brian replied. "He forgave me and I know he'll
forgive you too."

    "Maybe."

"So, are we ok," Brian asked. His eyes pleaded with Lance until
finally Lance managed a smile.

"Yea, we're ok," Lance replied as he pulled Brian into a hug. Brian
held him tightly and slowly rocked back and forth.

"There is one other thing I have to talk to you about," Brian said
slowly.

    "Kevin," Lance asked.

"Yea, Kevin," Brian replied. "He called me crying at like three am
last night. He was really upset about what happened."

"Well he should be," Lance replied with a bit of anger.

"Lance he was drunk and he didn't know what he was doing. He's not
gay. He has no interest in Devon. He told me that. He said that Devon was
yours and he had no right to do what he did."

"He didn't have any right," Lance repeated. Then he breathed deeply
and shook his head. "But I guess I'd be a hypocrite if I didn't forgive
him. I'll talk to him later."

"He'll be very happy to hear that," Brian said with a smile. "So,
what happened between you and Devon. Have you two...?"

"No Brian," Lance laughed. "I know what it looked like when you
came in, but no, me and Devon have not had sex."

"Oh," Brian said, sounding a bit disappointed.

"We both thought it would be a good idea to wait a little while. I
mean we did just meet each other a couple of weeks ago."

"Yea, I guess that is a good idea," Brian said. He looked down at
his watch. 'I hope Kevin's alright,' he thought to himself.

                        *****

"Hi Devon," Kevin replied nervously. He motioned to a chair for Devon to
sit in. Devon walked over slowly and sat down, keeping his eyes on Kevin.
"I think I should explain about last night," Kevin said as he stared down at
his hands.

"Kevin, you were drunk, it's alright," Devon replied.

"No, it's not alright. I really hurt Lance and I know I shouldn't have done
that. I don't even know how it happened." He stared at Devon for a moment.
"I'm not even gay Devon."

"I know you're not Kevin," Devon replied.

"You do," Kevin asked.

"Kevin, you were drunk. You probably thought you were being funny or
something and that's how it happened. I don't think you're gay Kevin."

"But that's what confuses me. I wasn't trying to be funny. And I am
attracted to you. Even now," Kevin replied. "But even though I feel that
way about you, I know I'm not gay. Does that make any sense at all?"

"I guess," Devon replied. "It's a fluke thing. You find a guy attractive.
It's alright Kevin, really."

"But how can I be straight and still be attracted to you?"

"Here's the way I see it," Devon said. "No one is either totally gay or
totally straight. Human beings are sensual creatures. They reach out to
people. They want to find a connection. They don't know who they're going
to connect with. It can be anyone. So, no guy can ever say he never feels
connected to another guy, or even attracted to him. Same thing for women.
Sexuality isn't a black and white topic. So yes Kevin, you can be straight
and still have feelings for me. It's natural."

Kevin thought about what Devon said for a moment. "I think you may be
right," Kevin said.

"I know I am. That's why I didn't take what happened too seriously. That,
and you were really drunk," Devon laughed out. "It was hysterical."

"Ha ha," Kevin said back with a grin. "I'm glad you're cool with this then.
I didn't want it to affect our working relationship." He looked up at
Devon. "Or our friendship."

"Kevin, nothing could hurt either of those." Devon stood up and gave Kevin
a quick hug. "Now, as I am naked under here, I'm gonna go back to my room
and put some clothes on. Get some rest Kevin," Devon said as he walked
towards the door.

"I will," Kevin replied. He sighed heavily and smiled.

Devon shut the door to Brian's room and headed down the hall to his own
room, catching Brian just as he was shutting the door. "You little sneak,"
Devon said with a laugh.

"You're not angry," Brian asked.

"Nah, why would I be," Devon replied.

"Thank god," Brian said with a smile. "Lance is in there waiting for you."
Brian had a big grin on his face as he walked away.

"Hornball," Devon yelled after him.

                                *****

"So, what are we ordering," Nick asked as he looked at the room
service menu. He glanced over saw Justin lying on the bed staring up at the
ceiling. "What are you thinking about?"

Justin turned over on his side and smiled seductively. "You really
want to know what I'm thinking about," he asked erotically. Nick nodded
slowly. "What
to order form room service," Justin said quickly with a laugh. "I'm
thinking...everything on the menu."

"Well aren't you the little oinker," Nick said with a laugh. He
quickly dodged the pillow that Justin threw at him and jumped onto the bed.

"No, but I haven't eaten yet today," Justin said as he lay on
his back, one hand under his neck. Nick lay down next to him, putting his
head next to Justin's and his arm under Justin.

"Well then let's get you some food," Nick said with a smile. He
went to get up, but felt Justin's hand gently hold onto his arm.

"I can wait a little while," Justin said with a smile.

"Well in that case..." Nick leaned in close and began to kiss along
the length of Justin's neck. He wrapped his arms around Justin and pulled
him in close as he continued to kiss along his neck and chin. Justin moaned
a bit as Nick finally moved up and began to suck on his lower lip. Justin
opened his mouth a bit and slipped his tongue inside of Nick's. Nick pulled
him tighter, moving his hips along with Justin's. His hand slipped down the
front of Justin's pants, finally settling on the growing bulge in the
front. His slipped his hand inside as Justin let out a small moan
The kiss continued as Nick began to slowly stroke Justin, who began to
breath heavier and heavier. Justin finally pulled away from Nick and threw
his head back as he got closer. Nick sensed this and slowly slipped his
hand out from Justin's pants. "So, what did you want to order?"

Justin stared at him for a second in disbelief before finally
starting to laugh. "That was harsh!"

"Well, I wanted to have something good for dessert," Nick said with
a smile.

"In that case, fast food. I want really fast food," Justin said
with a huge smile. Nick giggled a bit and shook his head as he stood up.

"Oh no you don't. You were starving before and I'm going to make
sure you eat right." He looked at the menu and smiled. "Maybe we should
just order everything."

"Oh, now who's the oinker here, huh." Justin said as the pillow he
had thrown earlier was thrown back at him.

"How about some burgers, pizza, and chicken fingers," Nick asked
with a smile.

"Do they have shrimp too," Justin asked. "I love shrimp."

"Yea, we can get some of that too." Nick walked over to the phone
and sat down right on Justin's bulge, causing Justin to moan in pleasure.
He ordered the food quickly and hung up the phone. "Twenty minutes."

"Yea," Justin said happily as he heard his stomach growl. "Well,
I'm gonna take a quick shower then," Justin said. Nick stood up and helped
Justin up off the bed. Justin looked Nick up and down. "A cold shower."
He laughed a bit and ran off into the bathroom.

Nick sighed happily and lay back down on the bed. He picked up the
phone and quickly dialed AJ's number.

"Hey what's up," AJ said as he picked up the phone after just one
ring.

"It's Nick," Nick said as he rubbed his eyes with one hand. "What
are you up to?"

"Nothing much right now. Getting ready to go over to Britney's
room. Where's Justin?"

"Taking a shower," Nick replied as he heard the shower turn on.

"And you're not joining him," AJ laughed. "What, trouble in
paradise?"

"Of course not," Nick laughed. "I'm waiting for our room service to
come. But speaking of that...have you and Britney...you know?"

AJ laughed loudly. "No dirty boy, we haven't."

"Wow, that's not like you. You've been dating for while now."

"Yes, we have," AJ said. "But I don't want to push her into
anything that she's not ready for. When she's ready, she'll let me know.
Right now, I'm just happy with the way things are."

"That's really cool," Nick said. "So what about Kevin the other night.
That really was something, wasn't it?"

"I have never seen Kevin that bad in my life. I mean I've seen him
drunk before, but he has never been that far gone. I don't know what got
into him."

"I think Brian was going to straighten him out though. I mean, we
have to cut Kevin some slack though. We're always the ones who fool around
and do the crazy stuff and he's always the one who cleans up after us. He
deserves a little vacation from being Kevin."

"Yea, you're right," AJ agreed. "Ok, listen, I gotta get going, but
I'll see you and your baby later, ok?"

"Alright, talk to you soon." Nick replaced the phone and got up and
began to pace around the room, picking up stray articles of clothing that
had been thrown about. He stuffed everything into one of the drawers and
sighed heavily.

The bathroom door opened slowly as Justin stepped out, a towel
wrapped around his waist. Nick whistled at him, causing Justin to giggle a
bit. He walked over and kissed Nick gently on the cheek. "OK, I'm gonna
put some clothes on, and when I come out, the food will be here right?"

"I hope so. You're stomach growling is starting to give me a
headache."

Justin threw him a look and walked back into the bathroom. Nick again
threw himself down on the bed and waited for the food to arrive.

                        *****

"God I love you," JC said as he pulled Brian closer to him. They both
struggled to catch their breath as they lay in each others arms.

"I love you too," Brian said in a pant.

"I don't think this is what Devon had in mind when he said get some
rest," JC laughed.

"Oh yea, like he and Lance aren't doing the same thing," Brian said with
a laugh. Then he caught himself and cussed under his breath.

"Devon and Lance," JC asked, a bit shocked. "I mean I've seen the way
Lance has acted around him, but wow."

"JC, please don't tell anyone," Brian pleaded. "I swore I wouldn't say
anything until they told everyone themselves."

"You can trust me baby," JC said as he stroked Brian's hair. He kissed
him gently on the forehead and examined the top of Brian's head.

"What are you doing," Brian asked with a laugh.

"Just checking this out," JC replied with a grin. "I really like this
color on you."

"Well in that case, I'll keep it," Brian said as he kissed JC's cheek.
"Now, um, I really think we should get to bed." JC giggled slightly. "I
meant to sleep silly!"

"I know," JC replied as he settled back down. "I'm gonna talk to Lance
tomorrow," he said suddenly.

    "You are," Brian asked.

"Yea. I guess I've been kind of avoiding him recently. So, I figured
I'd let him know that everything's alright between us."

"I think he'd like that," Brian replied. He kissed JC again and then
turned over. "Goodnight JC."

"Goodnight baby." JC pulled Brian close to his body and sighed. Within
minutes, they were both in a deep sleep.

                                *****

Kevin sat in his room, alone still, waiting for...something. The
curtains were pulled shut as Kevin held the pillow over his eyes. With a
sigh, he yanked the pillow away and walked into the bathroom. He switched on
the light and peered at his reflection in the mirror. His eyes were
bloodshot and his hair was still wild from sleep. 'I'm never gonna get any
rest,' he thoguht to himself.

Kevin heard a ringing which snapped him back into reality. With a sigh
he walked out of the bathroom and pulled his cell phone from out of his
duffel bag. "Hello," he said without emotion.

"Hey Kevin," a woman's voice said.

"Oh, hey Mindy," Kevin replied with a slight smile as he sat down on his
bed.

"I can't really talk long now, but I have two bits of information you may
find interesting."

"I don't think I like the sound of this," Kevin laughed.

"Well, just listen boy," Mindy said with a laugh. "Well, the first one
is serious and I'm not exactly sure how you're gonna take it."

Kevin readied himself for the worst as he lay back in the bed. "Just
give it to me straight."

"That guy you had me do some research on. Robert. He's dead."

Kevin sat up quickly and nearly dropped the phone. "Are you sure?"

"Well, I called the hospital you guys were in for an update, and after
going through some red tape and throwing my name and rank around, I finally
got some answers. According to what the nurse had in her computer, the guy
is dead."

"I can't believe it," Kevin said to himself.

"Well, you can call the hospital yourself if you want," Mindy said as
Kevin heard the familiar phones and rustling papers in the background.

"No, I believe you," Kevin replied. "It's just so weird."

"Well, one of these days you're going to have to tell me the entire
story. In fact..."

    "What," Kevin asked.

"Well, I was just gonna say I'm gonna be in Florida in a couple of days
and would love to get together. I haven't seen you in forever."

"Was that the second bit of information," Kevin asked with a grin.

"As a matter of fact it was," Mindy replied.

"Well in that case I would love to get together. Just give me a call
when you're in."

"Sounds great. Listen, I know I'm always doing this to you, but I've
gotta run. See you soon."

"Bye Mindy," Kevin said as he clicked the end button on the phone.
'Mindy,' he thought to himself.

Well, that was part 26. I hope everyone enjoyed it. What's going to
happen between Lance and Devon? Can JC truly forgive Lance, and what are
Kevin's true feelings for Devon? Is everything exactly as it seems, or is
there something more developing? What lies are being told, and what's going
to happen once the tour gets underway? If you have any questions, comments,
suggestions, criticisms, etc, send them to Mike at BrwyMilo@aol.com. See you
soon.
