Subject: Nick and Justin part 48A
OK, I know I take too long to update when I get a hundred messages asking
me if I'm sick, dead, dying, or on Mars. I am not any of the first three,
and only the fourth for a little while every other thursday. But seriously,
I am fine. I just transfered schools and am sooooooo busy. Anyone notice
that classes seem to get in the way of your social life? I mean, GOD! I'm
going to try to write more regularly. If you've got anything you'd like to
say, send an email to Mike at BrwyMilo@aol.com. Email is one of the funnest
things ever, so send some. The usual legal BS still applies, so you guys
know the drill. Hope you enjoy this belated section.

Kevin rushed down the hallway of the Pennsylvania hotel, knocking on
doors as he walked. When he reached the end of the hallway he turned, facing
the opposite end. Slowly, all of the doors opened, as several heads looked
out and around, trying to see who was responsible for the disturbance. They
all faced Kevin, seeing an angry look on his face. "My room, five minutes,"
he said harshly. With that, he walked back down the hall and into his room,
slamming the door shut behind him.
Devon turned back into his room and sighed leaning heavily against the
door. He looked over and saw Lance sleeping peacefully on the bed. 'I hate
to wake him,' Devon said, remembering the night they had just had. He
groaned slightly and approached the bed, lowering himself onto the soft
matress and running his hand over Lance's cheek. He smiled wide and lay down
right next to Lance, pressing the length of his body against his sleeping
lover. He slowly ran his hand up and down his back, trying to wake him up as
gently as possible.
But it wasn't working. After a minute, Devon sat up and rolled Lance
over, pulling his upper body onto his lap. "Lance baby," he whispered into
his ear. "Come on hun, we gotta get up."
"Nope," Lance said, a smile on his face. "I'm not moving."
"You've gotta," Devon said, trying to sit him up. Lance instantly
flopped back down like a rag doll. "Don't make this hard for me," Devon
said, giggling slightly.
"Why do we have to get up," Lance whined. "I'm comfy here."
"Kevin was in a rampage. He wants us to be in his room in a minute,"
Devon said, his face close to Lance's.
"If Nick and Justin don't have to put up with this, why do we," he asked
grumpily.
"Cause Justin only got released from the hospital yesterday. He'll be
here later today and he'll get the brunt of Kevin's wrath as well," Devon
said with a smile. "Now come on, before he comes in here and drags you out."
"I'm up, I'm up," Lance groaned. "But this better be some friggin
emergency."
*****
"How does he always know JUST the right moment to knock on that door,"
Brian said, extremely agitated. "Just one more minute..."
"I know," JC laughed, stroking Brian gently. "But we can always go back
to this later."
"Right," Brian said with a smirk. "I'll just have a boner all morning."
"It'll make later even more excited though," JC said, nibbling his ear
lobe lightly.
"Ugh stop," Brian moaned. "That is definitely not helping."
"Fine," JC said, hopping out of bed. He threw a robe around him and
walked to the door. "Now come on. Get some clothes on."
"I can't go like this," Brian asked, standing up and smiling.
"Um, no," JC said with a laugh. "Unless you'd like me to go like that
also."
Brian pouted and threw on a pair of boxers, tying his robe tightly around
his waist. "This had better be really important."
Brian and JC entered Kevin's room last and took a seat on the bed,
pulling their legs into their bodies. Brian looked around the room, seeing
the same confused faces everywhere he looked.
"Alright cuz. What's so important?"
Kevin stood up from his chair and picked something up from his dresser.
"I got a call a little while ago from management," Kevin said. "'Go pick up
a couple tabloids,' they told me. So, I went out to the supermarket and
picked up the Sun, Moon, Star, Globe and every other fucking constellation I
could think of. And look what was on the cover of most of them." Kevin
threw the papers around the room to the guys.
Chris looked at the cover and furrowed his brow. "Monkey boy born to
Cincinnati woman?"
"Aliens ate my dog," Joey asked. "This is why they woke you up?"
"Above that you idiot," Kevin yelled. Joey looked hurt for a second
before looking back down at the paper.
"Oh my God," he gasped.
"Teenage heart throbs also bedmates," Brian yelled. He turned quickly to
the page the story was on and sighed. "Well it's not us," he said to JC.
"No, but it is Nick and Justin," Howie said. "Shit!"
"How'd this get out," AJ asked loudly.
"Read the story," Kevin said, waving his hand.
"Recently, Justin Timberlake and Nick Carter, of the boy bands N'Sync and
Backstreet Boys respectively, were caught sleeping together in Justin's
hospital bed. The teen heartthrob was reportedly admitted into the hospital
following an assault after exiting a gay club. A victim of gay bashing?
Highly likely. Sources say that Nick rushed to Justin's bed side as soon as
he found out what happened, and spent the duration of Justin's hospital stay
in his room, most of the time behind locked doors." JC looked around and
groaned. "Who leaked?"
"I don't know," Kevin said. "But let's just say our label is not happy."
"I don't blame them," AJ said. "How do we explain this? It's all true!"
"AJ, they weren't having sex in there," Brian laughed. Then he paused.
"I don't think they were having sex in there. I would be by Nick's bedside
if something happened to him. We can say the whole thing was a friend being
concerned."
"Right. But how do we explain the fact that on top of this story, Nick's
missed every concert since we left New York to be with Justin."
Brian was silent, trying desperately to think of any excuse. "I don't
know," he whispered.
"So, we're fucked," Howie said, throwing the paper down.
"Not necessarily," Chris said. "Yea, this is a great rumor, but what
about if we spread another rumor, about Justin and Britney being engaged or
something?"
"No way," AJ shouted. "We can't solve this by involving more people."
"Especially your girlfriend, right," Joey said. He looked down at his
paper and sighed. "We all knew something like this might happen, and we said
we'd accept the consequences when they came up. Looks like it's time."
"I'm not ready to ruin my career over this," AJ shouted.
"We don't know that would happen," Chris said. "Look at Boyzone. They
got even more popular once Stephen came out."
"That's because they were pretty much unknown before hand. Even bad
publicity is good publicity when you're not on top. This kind of publicity
could kill record sales," AJ shouted.
"That's pretty much what the label had to say," Kevin said, sitting on
the floor. "I really don't know what we can do here but deny it."
"We have to wait for Nick and Justin to get here before we can decide
anything," JC said. "We can't answer this for them. Imagine the field day
the press would have if they didn't show up for the announcement."
"I have to agree with JC," Chris said. "They'll be here this afternoon
in time for some sound checks. What if they made an announcement at the
concert. Like held up the paper and laughed, or something like that."
"That could work," Kevin said. "I have to call Johnny back in a couple
of hours and let him know if we came up with any way to handle this
ourselves. If we can't, they're just going to release a generic statement
saying that the entire thing is made up and laughable."
"Wouldn't it be better if they made the announcement themselves," Brian
asked.
"Wait, don't you think all of this might be jumping the gun? These were
tabloid articles," Chris laughed.
"And it'll be on MTV by this afternoon," AJ said absently.
"We don't know that," Chris said, turning his head in AJ's direction.
"Come on. Even if this story is only in the tabloids right now, this is
still the hottest thing they've gotten in years." AJ groaned and lay back on
the floor. "Alright. So we have to wait for them to get here later on to
deal with this."
"Only thing we can do I guess," Howie said quietly. "I'm going back to
my room."
Kevin watched as everyone slowly filed out, until only Brian and JC were
left, sitting on his bed, their legs barely touching as they stared out.
"You guys ok?"
JC looked at him and licked his lips. "I guess I didn't think something
like that could happen," he said. "I mean, we've been like this for so
long...together for so long...that even when people said what could happen, I
never thought it would."
"Even during the Robert incident," Brian said. "I wasn't really worried
about the world finding out. I was more worried about him getting on my
nerves."
"To see this stuff written somewhere...besides some stupid webpage...I
dunno. It's a little scary."
"That's why I tell you guys to be careful," Kevin said. "The less people
that know the better."
"But, it's our lives," Brian said. "This is none of their business
anyway."
"You guys are both the heart throbs of the groups. With Nick and Justin
of course. Christ, and all you guys are gay," Kevin muttered to himself. He
laughed a bit and looked at them. "Just think if all the teenage girls new
about that. I mean, I want people to buy our records because of our music,
and not the way we look. But a record sale is a record sale. And in this
business, you need to sell your record no matter what it takes."
"Even pretending we're someone else," JC whispered.
"Haven't you been doing that all along though," Kevin asked. "Neither of
you were really out before each other. Now at least the people who are
really close to you know you're gay. It's some improvement. And eventually,
it'll be ok to be as open as you want. But right now, you have to think
about your careers and everyone else's."
"Gee, no pressure there," Brian said sarcastically.
"Brian, you've known all this for a while now," Kevin said.
"I know. But sometimes I do want to be able to hold JC's hand in public.
Or give him a kiss...or something! Anything! I can barely look at him now
without some new rumor popping up. And now with this fucking tabloid
thing..."
"Calm down," JC said, his arm rubbing up and down Brian's. "This isn't
going to fix anything. We have to keep going like we have been for now."
"Things will get better Brian," Kevin said, sitting down in front of his
cousin.
"Sometimes I just wish I wasn't a Backstreet Boy. It's given me the most
opportunities, but it shut a lot of doors though too."
"Let's get back to our room," JC said. "Get some more rest."
"Alright," Brian said, standing slowly. He walked out of the room, not
waiting for JC to follow him.
"Talk to him," Kevin said, just as JC had reached the door. "I don't
like seeing him like that."
"I will," JC said. "I just hope he listens to me." He followed Brian
back towards his room. Kevin shut the door to his own and leaned against it.
"How much longer can we keep this up?"
*****
Justin eyes remained shut tight, a smile on his face as he felt Nick's
lips roaming over his neck. He giggled slightly as he felt Nick's fingers
graze across his stomach, his hands under Justin's shirt. Nick smiled as
well, kissing Justin's cheek and then around to under his chin.
"Careful," Justin said quickly, hissing lightly. Nick immediately
withdrew his hands, grimacing.
"I'm sorry baby," he said, gently feeling the tape that was still on
Justin's skin, holding the gauze bandages in place. "How much does it hurt?"
"Well, the pills are wonderful," Justin said with a smile. "Just hurts
when my fiance pokes at them." He laughed loudly and looked up at Nick's
face.
"I'm sorry," Nick said, guilt still on his face. He moved his hands back
and brought them around the front of Justin's resting his hands on either
side of his legs.
"Nick, I was just kidding," Justin said, kissing Nick's cheek. "It
didn't hurt that much."
Nick seemed slightly relieved, but still would only approach Justin's
body tentatively. Justin sighed and took Nick's hands in his own, placing
them on his sides, over his bandages. "See, doesn't hurt," Justin said,
rubbing his hands up and down. "I'm not made of porcelain. You're not going
to break me."
"I just don't want to hurt you," Nick said slowly.
"I'll let you know when something hurts," Justin said, kissing his lips
tenderly.
"Are you sure," Nick asked.
Justin lay Nick down on the seat of the limo, kissing his neck and
sucking on the flesh tenderly. "I'm positive," he said. Justin smiled
warmly for a moment, before his face contorted. "Ah shit."
"We're stopping," Nick groaned, sitting up slowly. "He could give us
some warning."
"We'll be stopping at the front of the hotel shortly," a voice over the
intercom said. Nick looked at Justin and covered his mouth.
"Can he hear us," he asked, trying to stifle his laughter.
"I don't know," Justin mouthed.
"Let's see," Nick mouthed back with a smile. "Oh god," he moaned loudly.
"Right there...uuuhhhhh..."
"Oh God, you taste so good," Justin moaned back, shrugging his shoulders.
"How's that," he mouthed.
"That's wonderful," Nick groaned back, almost laughing out loud.
"Oh Britney," the voice over the intercom said. "Oh Christina...right
there! Oh Brian, JC, Joey...aw hell...oh Chris even...Oh god will you two
shut up!"
Nick and Justin both bust out laughing as the limo came to a stop. They
sat there smiling and looking innocent as the heard the driver get out and
open their door. Nick tried biting his lip, but gave up as soon as he stuck
his head out the door and caught a glimpse at the driver. He bust out
laughing, Justin quickly following suit.
"Sorry bout the...uh...you know," Justin said, turning bright red.
"Don't worry about it," the driver said with a grin. "Your luggage
should be up in your room already."
"Thanks," Nick said, not able to make eye contact. He ran quickly into
the hotel, Justin right behind him.
"Wait, what room are we going to again," Justin asked, stopping by the
couches.
"Well, Kevin is in 837, so I guess he would've taken our key, but I-" He
paused, his eyes immediately met with a rush of flashes. "Run," he said
quietly.
Justin was moving before the word left his lips. He headed towards the
stairs and began sprinting. Nick slammed the door behind him and locked it
from the inside. He leaned against it panting for a moment before running up
to the next landing where Justin stood, laughing hysterically.
"They missed us," Justin said with a grin.
"They tried to kill us," Nick laughed. "God, they almost gave me a heart
attack. Why is there so much press here?"
"There's always press," Justin said, starting to walk up the stairs to
the next floor, where they hopped on the elevator. "OK, where is 837?"
"Right after 836," Nick said, walking past Justin and knocking on Kevin's
door. "Honey...we're home." He waited a minute before Kevin came to the
door, looking a bit disheveled. "Were you sleeping?"
"I needed a nap." He looked over at Justin and pulled him tightly into a
hug. "It's good to see you again."
"You too Kev," Justin said, sounding a bit surprised. "How have things
been?"
Kevin looked at them, a bit surprised for a second. "Hold
up...wait...you guys didn't..."
"Kevin, your rambling," Nick said with a smile.
"Come inside," Kevin said, standing aside and letting them in, closing
the door behind him. "You guys haven't heard anything?"
"About what," Justin asked, smiling a bit. "Wait, is something wrong?"
"Yea something's wrong," Kevin said loudly. "I thought you guys would
have heard."
"Kevin spit it out. You're scaring me," Nick said, walking over to Kevin.
"Well, sit down," Kevin said. "You're not going to believe this." He
walked over to the floor where a stack of papers sat. "I got a phone call
this morning. I can't believe you guys haven't seen this yet." He threw
Nick a copy of the paper, another went to Justin.
"Monkey boy born to Cinicinnatti woman," Justin asked, looking a little
surprised. "How awful."
"Look above that," Kevin said, exasperrated.
"Shit," Nick yelled.
Justin sat there quietly. He inhaled deeply and turned to the page of
the article. Nick was already up, pacing around the room. Justin read
slowly, once...twice...three times. When he finished he looked up at Nick.
"Well?"
"Well what," Nick asked, not even looking at him.
"Well, what do you want to do?"
Nick dropped down onto the bed, staring up at the ceiling and running his
fingers through his hair. "Kevin, what do I want to do?"
"Wel, management was hoping you guys would deny it." He didn't see
Justin's face drop a bit. "I mean, right now it's only a tabloid story and
should be easy to stop. MTV will make an issue out of it, but whatever."
"So what? We have a press conference," Nick asked, sitting up.
"Yea. Today maybe," Kevin said. "I could get it together pretty fast."
"Do it," Nick said, standing up. He breathed hard for a couple of
seconds, before looking down at Justin. "Guess we dodged a bullet, right?"
"Yea," Justin said quietly, standing up. "Do you have our room keys?"
"Yea...sure," Kevin said, watching him carefully for a minute. "Here..."
"Thanks," Justin said, walking quickly out of the room.
"Is he ok," Kevin asked.
"I'm not sure," Nick replied. He took the other key from Kevin and
jogged down the hall to his room, just catching the door before it closed.
"Hey! Are you ok Curly?"
"Fine," Justin said as he lifted his suitcase onto his bed. "Fan fucking
tastic," he whispered.
"What's wrong," Nick asked, walking next to Justin and putting one arm
around his shoulder. Justin quickly shrugged it off.
"I said I'm alright."
"This isn't alright," Nick said, putting his arm back where it was. He
looked at Justin steadily. "Please?"
"Maybe I don't want to deny being in love with you," Justin said quickly.
"Maybe, I don't give a shit what the press, fans, or record labels think.
Maybe I just want to be with you and live a nice normal life without having
to worry about who knows about us."
Nick dropped his arm from around Justin's shoulder. "Why didn't you say
something?"
"Cause you got to be Mr. Paranoid as soon as you saw the headline. I
know what you think. There wasn't room for discussion."
"There is always room for discussion if you tell me how you feel," Nick
said, a bit hurt. "What kind of guy do you think I am?"
"I'm sorry," Justin whispered, sitting on the bed, looking down at his
shoes. "I'm just tired of everything."
"It's alright," Nick said. "This is a lot to think about though, and I
think we should wait a bit though. At least until the tour is over."
"It isn't very much longer," Justin said.
"Maybe right after the wedding," Nick said, smiling a bit.
"We haven't even set a date yet," Justin said with a grin.
"Well why don't we do that," Nick asked. "Right now."
"May 5," Justin laughed. Nick smiled and ran out into the hall.
"Justin and I are getting married on May 5th! All you guys better be
there." He laughed loudly and ran back inside. "Alright, it's set."
"Did you just..."
"Yea I did," Nick said, laughing still. "We can call our moms later."
"Oh my God we're getting married," Justin said. "Like...seriously..."
"Well, we've been seriously getting married for a while now," Nick said,
kissing him lightly on the cheek. "But now it's a little more concrete."
Justin looked down at the floor, seeing for the first time just how ugly
the carpet was. He laughed a bit and looked up at Nick. "So are you going
to where the wedding dress?"
"Shut up," Nick laughed, falling on top of Justin. He smiled down at
him, grinning wide. "I don't have the breasts for it."
"Brit would probably let you borrow some of hers," Justin said, his face
totally serious.
"Well, I was kind of horny a second ago...but I think that just killed
it," Nick said, standing up.
"Anything I can do to-"
"No."
"We can al-"
"No."
"But what if w-"
"No." Nick looked down at smiled. "Maybe later."
Justin got up from the bed. "So I guess we're gonna hold a press
conference," Justin said, frowning again.
"Yea, but I have a plan to make it a little more interesting."
*****
"Can everyone please quiet down," Kevin said, raising his arms for
silence. The hotel conference room was packed with reporters from every news
paper and tv station in the area. The din in the room slowly died down as
Kevin cleared his throat into the microphone. "We're gonna make this really
short. We have a show to do tonight and honestly this whole thing is a joke.
But we figured we should respond to the tabloid articles. So I'm going to
turn the mic over to Nick and Justin now."
Kevin took a step back and sighed as the two younger men took there place
in front of the podium. Nick turned the mic towards him and smiled at all
the reporters.
"Well, I just read the tabloids today and saw some pretty interesting
things in there. That one about the monkey boy was pretty cool. But then I
read that article about myself and was pretty surprised. So, Curly and I are
here to respond to that." He turned towards Justin and smiled. Justin was
biting his lip to keep from laughing . "We're here to say...it's totally
true." With that he leaned in and kissed Justin squarely on the lips.
Justin kissed him back, laughing the whole time.
Gasps came from every corner of the room as cameras flashed pictures of
the two lip locked. Kevin nearly fell off his seat. Hands flew up from
every corner of the room as Nick and Justin separated.
Nick looked at everyone in the room and started laughing. "Wait, you
guys actually believed that? Can we say joke! Justin and I are not
dating...we're not married. We're not anything."
"We are both in very happy relationships though," Justin interjected.
"Exactly. The tabloid article was a little off. Sorry guys, but no
story here," Nick said. "Any questions?"
"Why were you in Justin's hospital room?"
Nick glanced over at Justin and shrugged. "He's my friend. We've gotten
really close during this tour. When he was attacked we decided...as a
group...that he shouldn't be left alone. So, I stayed behind while the guys
did a couple of concerts."
Justin groaned as more hands shot up. He turned the mic towards him
angrily, but cooled himself down before he exploded. "Ok, like we said, the
tabloid article was fake. There really shouldn't be any more questions. We
have a show to do tonight and we need to get ready for it. So think
carefully before you ask another question. We're not going to repeat
everything here. Honestly the whole thing is pretty ridiculous to us." A
few hands went down as Justin glared at the reporters. He glanced over at
Nick and grinned a bit. "So, if we're done here..."
"Is it true you were coming out of a gay club Justin?"
Justin froze and shot a look of death at the reporter who blurted out the
question. "No, I was not coming out of a gay club. Christina Aguilera was
with us that night. Do you guys think she's a lesbian now?" There were a
few laughs from around the room. "We went out to a dance club. It wasn't in
the best neighborhood. I wanted to leave and I figured I could get a cab. I
got attacked before that could happen." He looked around the room. "I think
we're done here."
*****
"How do you feel," Nick asked as he sat in N'Sync dressing room, watching
as Justin got dressed for his set.
"Well, been better. I don't know why I'm nervous about this show."
"Well just think. The tour is almost done. And then we get some major
down time."
"Not enough," Justin muttered as he fixed a few curls in the mirror. "I
wish we were back home now."
"We'll be at the hotel in a few hours," Nick said, walking up behind
Justin and placing his hands around his shoulders.
"That's something at least," Justin replied, smiling as he saw Nick's
face in the mirror. Nick nodded and slowly began to kiss Justin's neck.
Justin leaned his head back, but quickly turned around and faced Nick. "Not
right now. Concert, remember? Thousands of screaming pre-pubescent
girls...hundred dollars a ticket..."
"Damn your work ethic," Nick said sarcastically. "Just wait til later."
"Oh, I am," Justin replied.
"Before I forget though...I want you to watch the last song of our set."
"Oh, alright," Justin said casually. "Any reason?"
"Not really. Just want you to see it."
"I'll be right in the wings," Justin said with a smile.
*****
"This number is dedicated to someone very special in all of our lives,
and especially mine," Nick said into the microphone as the crowds yells
reached deafening proportions. "Hey, it's a ballad! Calm down," he said
with a laugh. He turned upstage as a platform complete with orchestra slowly
rose. A violin intro started as the boys stood, a blue background behind
them, single spotlights illuminating only their silouhettes.
Remember when, we never needed each other
The best of friends like
Sister and Brother
We understood, we'd never be,
Alone
Those days are gone, and I want so much
The night is long and I need your touch
Don't know what to say
I never meant to feel this way
Don't want to be
Alone tonight
What can I do, to make it right
Falling so hard so fast this time
What did I say, what did you do?
How did I fall in love with you?
I hear your voice
And I start to tremble
Brings back the child that, I resemble
I cannot pretend, that we can still be friends
Don't want to be,
Alone tonight
What can I do, to make it right
Falling so hard so fast this time
What did I say, what did you do?
How did I fall in love with you?
Oh I want to say this right
And it has to be tonight
Just need you to know, oh yeah
I don't want to live this life
I don't want to say goodbye
With you I wanna spend
The rest of my life
What can I do, to make it right
Falling so hard so fast this time
What did I say, what did you do?
How did I fall in love with you?
What can I do, to make it right
Falling so hard so fast this time
Everything's changed, we never knew
How did I fall,
in love ,
with you?
"I love you," Nick whispered.

Ok, I know it's short. This one was sort of a bridgeway into the next
part of the series. Wedding and all. I do want to apologize for making
everyone wait months for something that wasn't anywhere as long as the others
I've posted. I've been a little busy though. This semester was a major
pain. So put that together with two jobs, a boyfriend, and moving out of the
dorms and into an apartment and you don't end up with much free time to
write. But, I am home on break now, so I'm gonna try to get one or two more
sections posted before I get back up to school. As always, thank you for
reading. Send any mail to BrwyMilo@aol.com. Happy New Years! Don't get too
wasted.
