Subject: "Nick's Gift" Part 2

Hey welcome back. I am running a little behind this week, with job
interviews and a cold/virus thingy. But I did manage to get this out. :-)
Please keep the feedback coming in! It's been a real help: leo1980@gay.com

Nick's Gift Part 2

"Best Friends"

Staring at the pair of briefs in my hand...I nervously picked up
the phone. It had been 3 days since the morning I woke up to find Nick had
left me. I knew that it wasn't out of cruelty or lack of interest in
me...or so I hoped. But still it was all to fast, and part of me longed
for him to hold me again. I was a nervous wreck now with the phone in my
grasp. Would he answer? Was this even his number?

I carefully punched in the digits and the phone began to ring...and
it rang and rang for the longest before someone finally picked it up.

"Hello." Someone with a no doubt sexy voice answered...but it
wasn't Nick.

"Hey, is Nick there?" I asked.

"Oh yeah, just a second." He yelled for Nick and then I knew it
had to be Brian!

"Here you go man." Brian said handing the phone to Nick.

"Hello." Nick said into the phone.

"Hey, this is Paul...I hope" I was going to say `hope you remember
me', but Nick broke in.

"Paul! Man it's great to finally hear from you, I thought you lost
my number or something." Nick said obviously glad to hear from me.

"No, I guess I was just a bit nervous to call you. You're the
first celebrity I've ever known..." I told him.

	"I hardly consider myself a celebrity...certainly I'm not any
better than anyone else is. So feel free to treat me like anyone else
dear." He told me.

"Well, I will get over the star appeal soon enough, but I could
never treat you like anyone else." I told him.

	"You're sweet man." Nick giggled.

"So, how did things go with the guys?" I asked not really wanting
to bring up a sore subject.

"Well, it went better than I thought, but not as good as I wanted.
The guys support my choice to come out, but they want me to wait till after
the Black and Blue tour." He told me.

"Okay, I guess that's not too bad...that'll be over by the end of
summer." I told him.

"Yes, that's true. And in the meantime I'll just have to keep
things on the down low. I'm so glad you called me Paul, I really missed
you." He said with a very serious tone.

"I missed you too dear." I told him with a small tear running down
my face.

"Well, there's not much I can do about it right now...but I have
the weekend off, so how about I come back and see you?" Nick asked.

"Where are you now?" I asked him.

"Well, we are wrapping up the week with a two-night streak in
Kentucky, and then we have the weekend off to go where we want." He told
me.

"Well, that's not too far off from here...You can probably drive
down right?" I asked him.

"Yeah I can, I'll just have to rent a car." Nick told me.

"No need, my father owns a car lot in the area your in. Do you
have a pen and a pencil?" I asked him.

"What? Your dad owns a car lot?" Nick asked me.

"Well, he owns a few in this area. Anyway...he lets me borrow cars
at need, and after I talk to him...he'll give you the hook up." I smiled
imagining the shock on his face.

"Okay! I have the pen and paper you requested." Soon he jotted
down the address to the car lot. He'd have to take a cab to there, but
after that it would be a free ride, save for gas.

"Okay, just ask for Bill, he's in charge of that certain chain." I
told him.

"Bill and Dad go way back." I told him.

"Well, are you sure this is okay...?" Nick asked worried.

"It's fine, its just like renting a car, except you don't have to
return it to the place it came from...you can just leave it here at my
dad's lot, and take a plane to your next date." I suggested.

"Wow, that'll be great." Nick said.

"Yeah, and if I know my dad, he'll tell Bill to send one of the
cars that needed transport anyway, so you'll be doing him a favor." I
reassured him.

	"Awesome!" Nick said.

After that we made the final few arrangements, and he would be at
my place around noon Saturday! I couldn't wait! After a few more words we
hung up with a simple good bye. It was too early to say the words, but my
heart longed to say those 3 words that were burning on my tongue.

I know it would be wrong to say it now though, cause as much as I
want to believe them...I know lust is closer to the actual emotions going
through my mind right now. You have to actually know someone before you
can love him. But I wanted to know him, and hopefully I was going to get
that chance...starting this weekend!

The next couple of days weren't so good...I was so bored! I set
around and thought about Nick most the evening after the phone call and
went to bed early...but as nice as that was, now I was going crazy! It's
funny how you don't realize how boring your life is, till you start waiting
for something.

I decided I had to get out and do something. I decided to call my
friend James where we could go shopping or something. He's been my best
friend since a little after high school. We met at my church, and we just
connected right away. Everyone assumed that we would start dating, but it
never happened...some guys just make better friends I suppose. He's really
cute. He has brown hair, and blue eyes...and the cutest little smile. We
get along great, and we share a lot of common interests including the
Backstreet Boys. I think I'll introduce him to Nick this
weekend...otherwise he'll never believe it.

So, I called up James, and he said he'd be over in an hour were we
could run to the mall. I was so excited to see him, and I didn't know how
I was going to keep from telling him all about Nick. Then I realized I
could just tell him I bunked with a guy named Nick...and leave out the bits
about his real self. I thought that would make the surprise that much more
fun. And a lot easier to set up, cause of course he'll want to come over
to meet the new guy and then wham!

After setting down to watch a few videos on MTV, I heard James' car
pull up in the driveway. I was glad he made it early. Now we could start
doing something, and stop the insane self-inflicted boredom. Before he had
the chance to knock, I pulled him into the house and gave him a big hug.

"Someone's glad to see me, what's up?" He asked.

"You are rescuing me from the land of nothing to do!" I said
laughing.

"Oh glad I could be of service." He smiled and hugged me back.

"Well, where are we going James?" I asked him.

"I suppose we could take a drive to lake and see who's around.
Maybe some hot guys about!" He suggested.

"Well...I sort of already have a hot guy." I told him.

"Oh, do tell!" He said getting excited for me.

"Well, his name is Nick, he's blonde, sexy, and knows how to kiss!"
I said, not giving him those other details.

"That's great. When and where did you meet him?" He asked me.

"Well, I met him Sunday at the park. We kind of caught each
other's eye...and we went shopping, then hung out at the park some more.
And then we went back to my place!" I told him.

"You didn't have sex on the first date did you?" James asked
looking somewhat disappointed in me.

"No, we didn't have sex." (Not in the technical sense anyway) I
mostly told the truth.

"Good, you don't even know the guy yet. The act of love should be
for people in love, or at least when you know their medical history!" He
smiled at me once more.

"I know, I know! I'll make sure to have his papers before we do
any heavy loving." Of course if he knew who it was, he'd probably tell me
to go for it!

"Anyway, do I get to meet him soon?" He asked.

"Sure, you can met him this weekend, if your good..." I teased him.

"Sigh, these days I don't have much choice." We both laughed, and
understood.

"It's been too long it's about time we both found a man." I told
him.

"Well, does your guy friend have a brother?" He asked joking.

"Yeah, but he's not your type..." I told him.

"Oh, in what way?" He asked.

"He's just now hitting puberty for one thing." I laughed.

"Ah...I see! Better let him cook a while longer then!" James said
setting down on my couch.

"Well, he does have a few cute friends though...so we'll see what
we can do. Though, I'm far from making any promises." I told him.
Wouldn't that be wild if one of the other guys were gay too!

"That's cool man, I won't get my hopes up believe me. Though there
for a while I thought I was going to be stuck with you, but looks like you
finally got a man!" He said bouncing in his seat.

"Yup, it looks like it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed anyway." I
told him.

"I'm just glad you found someone to make you smile, even for just a
little while, because that's what life is all about!" He said hugging me
again.

"I know dear. Let's go to the movies." I suggested.

	"Okay, sounds great!" He said.

Soon we had selected a movie, and were on our way to the local
theater. The drive was short, but we did manage to hear "The Call" on the
way there. It was great hearing Nick's voice, even if it wasn't in person!

When we had parked and walked to the theater, we bought our tickets
and went inside. Soon we had located our seats and talked till time for
the movie to start.

"So I was watching TRL yesterday and I noticed that Carson Daily
just gets hotter all the time!" James told me.

"Yeah, I guess he does kind of grow on you!" I stated.

"Yes, and so does other things when I'm around a cute guy!" He
jested.

"Oh yeah! I know exactly what you mean." I smiled at him as the
movie started.

After the movie he dropped me off at my house. He had to work an
evening shift at the video store. It didn't pay that much, but it was a
cool job by the looks of it! I've been trying to get a job there with him,
I hope I get it soon.

The next day went by faster, and so on...till Saturday finally
came! Now I was really excited. I had told James to come over for Dinner
at 5 this evening. Giving me sometime alone with Nick, and to make sure it
was cool with him. I had managed to get a few things planed out. I wanted
something nice for the 3 of us. Actually I probably bought enough for 4,
but that's okay. Who knows maybe James would show up with a date, but that
was very doubtful. He would have at least told me in advance. We keep
very little from each other.

I was still in debate on how to greet him. Should I hug him, kiss
him, or shake hands? Heck, I don't even know for sure what we are. I know
we are friends, but is that all? I think by the end of this weekend I'll
have a little more to go on.

I decided not to over analyze it. And if he wanted he could hug
and kiss me first. That way I won't be pressuring him, and not being too
prudish either. I thought he'd be hungry when he got here, so I started
lunch.

I put a frozen lasagna in the oven, and I made a nice salad. I
thought that would do till this evening. I looked at the clock and it was
11:50 and the food was ready.

"Well, I hope he is on time." I said with a smile.

With everything set out on the table except the main course, I went
to set down. I left the lasagna in the oven to keep warm.

Before too long I heard a horn blowing in the front yard. I went
outside and opened the garage for Nick. He pulled the car in and got out,
and to my surprise someone else got out with him.

Nick took me into his arms and kissed me softly on the lips. I
held him for a moment, before breaking the hug and turning to the new guy.
He was wearing a cap and sunglasses. But I had a notion of whom he was.

"Oh sorry dear, this is Brian." Nick said.

"Oh, I didn't know he was coming too...um, Nice to meet you." I
said kind of nervous. I was a little star-struck at first.

"It's nice to meet you too." He said and gave me a hug.

"So, um, so you know about me then?" I asked Brian.

"Yes, Nick hasn't stopped talking about you since he got back."
Brian said making both Nick and I blush.

"Okay, well...come on in guys. I have lunch, but I might not have
enough salad." I told them.

"That's okay I'm not in the mood for Salad right now." Nick
stated.

So the three of us set down to lunch. Between us we made short
work of the food, but I wasn't too worried about them getting hungry, cause
supper was already started. I was making a stew in the slow cooker.

"So why didn't you tell me Brian was coming?" I asked Nick.

	"He didn't know." Brian said.

"What do you mean?" I laughed at Brian.

"Well, he said I couldn't come, and that he wanted to spend
sometime alone with you, but at the last minute I asked again, and didn't
take `no' for answer." Brian told me.

"He was dieing to meet you; he's a little bit of a worrywart."
Nick said.

"No I'm not; I just wanted to see you for myself, that's all."
Brian defended himself.

"It's not a problem, let me get that out first. I want you to know
that you are more than welcome Brian. I just wanted to make sure of one
thing though; the other guys aren't coming are they? This is a small house
after all!" We all laughed at that.

"No, the others will want to meet you at some point, but for now I
like having you all to myself...and Brian here will be getting a room."
Nick said with a smile.

"Oh, well he's more than welcomed to the couch though." I threw in
all the same.

"No man, that's okay. I know you two need some quality time. And
besides, there's stuff I can do on my own as well." He told me.

"Okay, glad that's settled." Nick said and took me by the hand and
led me to the couch.

I set down and laid my head on his shoulder. He bent over and
kissed my forehead. This is what I had been waiting on all week! Just a
nice quite moment with him is all I needed.

Brian set in the floor in front of us, and flipped on the TV. He
put it on some music network, and soon we were watching videos together. I
was thinking about Nick more though. He was running his hand through my
hair. And I was very pleased with the moment. Occasionally I would go
check on the stew, but everything was fine.

In about two hours the guys would meet James...and who knows what
else might happen this evening. How often do you have your best friend,
and two Backstreet Boys for dinner?

To be Continued.

Well, there's part 2. Not sure how much longer this story will last, but
I'm enjoying it. I hope you are too! Not sure when the next one will be
out, But right now I'm aiming for a part per week. :-) Till it's over.
But you know how that goes! And a little note, for any of you that are
expecting this story to be filled with sex...sorry. That's not my style.
I only included it in the first chapter, because I thought it would be the
only chapter. LOL! There will probably be more, but not a whole lot.
