Slayer's Legacy- Chapter 1

DESTINY'S FATE

JC was just finishing up his set when the guys arrived. The tour
for his solo album was wrapping up tonight and the rest of *NSYNC had
decided to surprise him and take him out to celebrate. Soon they would be
heading back into the studio to begin their long-awaited new album, but
tonight was for JC. Lance was the first one he spotted, and the smile that
lit up his face could have powered a whole city block. Lance, the love of
his life was here, and the rest of the world seemed to melt away. He shook
himself out of his trance as he approached the mic to talk to the audience
and it was then that he spotted the rest of his friends. He nodded in their
direction to let them know he saw them without drawing attention. Then he
spoke.
"How y'all doing tonight? Did you enjoy the show?" thunderous
applause erupted from the audience and JC became completely overwhelmed by
the love he felt emanating from them.
"Heh, well I guess that was a yes then. Well tonight has finally
come to an end", he turned to look at Lance as he finished his last
remarks, "and I just wanted to let y'all know that your love and support
has meant a great deal to me these last couple of months as I've struck out
on my own." He turned his attention back to the rest of the world now and
noticed a strange looking man that seemed to be hanging on his every
word. Shrugging it off he began again.
"So tonight since its the very last show I wanted to do something a
little different and sing a song for you that is very special to me. I hope
you enjoy it and I hope you all come out for the new NSYNC album when we
tour with it. So without further adieu.."
As the music began Lance knew instantly what it was, and a small
smile came to his face as he remembered the first time Josh had sung it to
him. It was the night they both realized they were truly in love and meant
to be together forever. He sat back and closed his eyes as the memories and
his lover's voice washed over him.

Maybe it's intuition
But some things you just don't question
Like in your eyes
I see my future in an instant
And there it goes
I think I've found my best friend
I know that it might sound more than a little crazy
But I believe...

I knew I loved you before I met you
I think I dreamed you into life
I knew I loved you before I met you
I have been waiting all my life

There's just no rhyme or reason
Only this sense of completion
And in your eyes
I see the missing pieces
I'm searching for
I think I've found my way home

I know that it might sound more than a little crazy
But I believe...

I knew I loved you before I met you
I think I dreamed you into life
I knew I loved you before I met you
I have been waiting all my life

A thousand angels dance around you
I am complete now that I've found you

I knew I loved you before I met you
I think I dreamed you into life
I knew I loved you before I met you
I have been waiting all my life

"So, it is true then?" A voice shook Lance from his daydreams. He
opened his eyes to see a tall, muscular young man standing before him. His
eyes were so blue that they were almost unnatural looking but Lance could
not make himself look away from them.
	"Uh, I'm sorry, what?"
"It is true, you and JC are together. Oui?"
"I'm sorry I don't know what you mean."
"You are a couple. I can see it in your eyes" Okay, this was
getting weird. They had long ago decided that their relationship had to be
kept secret for now, until they either felt the world would accept them
without damaging the group or the group ended. Up until now he thought that
they had done a fairly good job of hiding it. Although they did think it
was fun to give the public a hint or two once in awhile. Just enough to
start the rumors going so that when it did finally come out it wouldn't be
as big a shock to the fans.
"I think maybe you've been listening to the rumor mill to much,
um..."
"Jean-Baptiste, but you may call me JB it is not so much a ... ah
... mouthful?" He spoke, extending his hand to Lance.
"So I guess you aren't from around here then " Lance now smiled at
the man. He seemed harmless enough, and for some reason Lance could not
tear himself from those eyes.
"No, I am from a town in the south of France called L'Isle sur la
Sorgue. I am in America on business and heard that JC was performing here
so I drove down from L.A. I have been a fan of the group since your days in
Germany and I never miss a chance to see one of your shows. I was hoping
since this was the last one I might run into the rest of you also."
As JC approached the group he noticed Lance talking to the man he
had spotted earlier in the audience. A strange feeling began to envelope
him, as he got closer, there was something about this man that immediately
put him on edge. He had gotten the same feelings from Lou Pearlman when
they first met and of course they had been dead on. From then on JC learned
to trust his feeling more and more. He was going to have to keep a close
eye on this man, especially since he seemed to have an interest in
Lance. Lance, being the loving and trusting soul he was, seemed oblivious
to it.
"Hey guys, what a great surprise," JC smiled cheerfully so as not
to arouse any suspicion. "Who's the new friend Lance?"
	"JC, I'd like to introduce you to Jean-Baptiste a.k.a. JB He's a
fan of ours from way back in our days in Germany." As Lance spoke he had
not once broke eye contact with J.B. It was as if he were in some sort of
trance.
"Good to meet you JB, any friend of Lance's is certainly a friend
of mine." JC extended his hand to the man and the instant they touched he
knew that his feelings once again had been right on the money. But what
were his true intentions if he was not who he claimed?
"It is a pleasure to finally meet you after all this time
JC. Chasez I believe is French is it not? It means 'hunter'." JB was
looking deep into JC's eyes as if searching for something.
" Really? I wasn't aware of that. Je parle tres peu le francais.
I'll have to ask my parents more about that when I see them." JC continued
to smile at JB, as if what he had said had not registered much with him. He
had indeed heard that before but hadn't really thought much of it until
now. It was the way JB had said it, as if it was supposed to have some
importance. He really was going to have to speak to his parents about that
soon.
"Come on guys. Let's get this party started. First round's on me,"
Justin spoke for the first time. He had watched the exchange between his
two friends and this other guy and knew that JC hated him instantly. Of
course JC, being ever the gentleman, would not dare to say it in front of
JB or Lance, who seemed to take an instant liking to the man. For the life
of him he couldn't see the attraction, but to each there own.
"You're more then welcome to join us JB, its not often we meet
older male fans." Joey interjected.
"Thank you but I must decline. I need to find a hotel for the
night. Any ideas?"
" Maybe, I could get you into our hotel. They claimed to have no
more vacancies after we checked in but maybe things have changed. Let me
make a call." Lance excused himself and headed for a quieter spot to use
his cell. Lance was the businessman of the group, if anyone could pull it
off he could.
'What is up with him tonight? You'd think JB was the boyfriend he
hadn't seen in weeks.' JC anger was beginning to grow with each passing
moment and he was not sure how long he could keep it in check. Sensing this
Chris jumped in.
"Hey JB while Lance is doing that why don't you and I go help Curly
carry the drinks from the bar?"
"Ah, oui. It is the least I can do for your hospitality." JB spoke
as he moved to follow Chris.
Shortly thereafter Lance returned with a huge smile plastered on
his face, looking very pleased with himself.
"Good news sweetie?" JC said in his most calming voice. Now that JB
was out of the way, at least for now, Lance's focus could be where it
belonged.
"Yep! They still said that they didn't have any vacancies so I
arranged for a roll-away to be delivered to our room. JB is staying with
us!"
"What? You're kidding right?" JC Just sat there dumbfounded. Was
this really happening?
	"What's wrong Jayce? I think he's a good guy and he doesn't have a
place to stay. He drove all they way from LA just to see your show. What's
your problem?"
"What's *my* problem?" JC spoke up a little too loudly. He looked
around and noticed the other patrons looking in their direction. He leaned
in closer to speak in a quieter voice. "I'm not the one who's been ignoring
his boyfriend so he can attach himself to a total stranger and then
proceeded to invite him into our bedroom." JC seethed with anger.
"Maybe not but you are the one who is sleeping alone tonight. I'll
have the hotel move another roll-away into Chris and Joey's room for
you. Goodnight Joshua." With that Lance got up and went to the bar to
retrieve JB and head back to the hotel. Leaving JC and Joey, who had been a
witness to the entire scene, in total shock.
It was totally out of character for Lance to leave an argument
unfinished. Lance always said, "Never let the sun go down while your still
angry." JC knew he was in trouble the moment Lance called him Joshua. He
only called him by his full name when he was angry with him. He knew it
would piss JC off and that's exactly why he did it, and he always
apologized afterwards. But not tonight. Lance had just gotten up and left,
without any concern and without a second thought.

____________

A little while later at the hotel...

Lance couldn't believe how big of an ass JC was being right now. It
wasn't as if he had invited JB to sleep with them. He didn't know why but
he was instantly drawn to this man and he wanted to do all he could for him
to make him happy. What was wrong with that? Its not as if he was attracted
to him. He just thought he was a nice guy and thought they could be
friends. He did not want to sleep with him. This is what he had told
himself about a thousand times since coming back to the hotel. Now, sitting
alone in the living room of the suite they had gotten for the night, he
wasn't so sure how true that was.
But how could he be attracted to JB? He loved JC with his whole
heart, but something in his head would not allow him to forget about the
man sleeping in his bed just a few feet away. He had insisted that since JB
was the guest he should have the regular bed. JB had protested saying the
queen-size bed had more than enough room, and it wasn't as if anything was
going to happen, Lance was not his type. Lance had said it was fine and
tried to ignore the disappointment he had felt at JB last statement. Now he
was obsessing about.
"Not his type? What's that supposed to mean?" He grumbled under his
breath, pouting. "Wait, I love JC not JB. I love Josh. I love Josh." he
repeated it over and over in his head like a mantra. Trying desperately to
erase the thoughts of JB that threatened to take over his mind. His tight
body, His long blonde hair that he kept in a pony tail, His sparkling blue
eyes that just pierced right through you. That perfect alabaster skin that
just begged to be touched.
Lance let out a sudden breath that he hadn't even realized he'd
been holding. Enough of this! He had to go talk to JB and find out what he
had meant, or he would never get to sleep. He stepped over to the bedroom
to hear if JB was asleep yet or not. Hearing what he thought was the
television he knocked softly, no answer. He tried again and still got no
response. He decided to enter quietly, thinking JB had fallen asleep with
the TV going. As he entered the room a strange feeling came over him that
he could not place. He looked around and found that there was no one there
so he went to the TV. He wondered how JB had managed to sneak off with out
him noticing. It was as if he had just vanished into thin air.
"OK Bass, now you're starting to get paranoid. And not only that,
your talking to yourself. How sane is that?" he chastised
himself. Surveying the room again he began to feel really stupid when he
noticed the light coming from the bathroom. Rolling his eyes he walked over
to the door and knocked loud so as to be heard over the shower that was
running. No answer. He knocked louder this time, still nothing.
"Ok, this is turning into the plot of some cheesy B horror film."
He once again spoke aloud to no one. He tried the knob and discovered it
was unlocked.
"Well he probably didn't figure his roommate for a Peeping Tom." he
chuckled to himself. Opening the door a crack he called out.
"JB you alright?" opening the door further he was hit by the steam
that billowed out. He couldn't believe that a tiny shower could produce
water hot enough to create a cloud like the one enveloping him. Then as if
from nowhere he heard a familiar voice, but from behind him.
"Are you alright Lance? You seem a bit faint, here come sit." The
next thing Lance realized he had wrapped both of his arms around JB's waist
as the man led him to the end of the bed. It took him another minute to
realize JB was in a towel that hung very loosely around his
hips. Threatening to fall at any moment. Once safely on the bed he scooted
away from JB and immediately began to blush furiously. Thank God the room
was still mostly dark, the only light coming from the bathroom behind them.
"So what is up Lance? When I came out you had this strange look on
your face like you were in another place. Are you alright?"
"I don't know what's happening to me JB. I think I might be going
crazy." Lance looked down at his hands in his lap, he could not face the
man that sat next him. Knowing if he did he would lose what was left of his
self-control and threaten the one thing he held most dear to him, his
relationship with JC.
"I seriously doubt that James. You are one of the most sane people
I know" JB smiled at him. No one ever called him James, not even his
parents. That name was special for JC to call him. He always said he
thought it suited him better. He smiled at the thought and looked up to see
the eyes of his lover.
"Josh? But where did you come from? I didn't see you come in. I
thought you were JB."
" JB stopped by and said he thought I belonged back over here, and
that we should talk. Turns out he isn't such a bad guy after all." JC
smiled and put his hand to Lance's cheek. " I love you James."
" I love you too Josh" Lance whispered as he wrapped his arms
tightly around his love and tears began to flow down his cheeks. He leaned
back to see that it really was JC and leaned into him again. This time
engaging him in a passionate kiss that seemed to last forever. JC pulled
away and started planting kisses on Lances jaw line, slowly making his way
down to his neck, where he began to so suck and nibble a certain spot that
he knew would drive Lance crazy.
"Oh yeah Josh. Right there, yeah." He was definitely having the
desired affect. Lance was panting like crazy now and he knew he would not
be able to keep this up much longer.
" Ow! What are you trying to do break the skin?" Lance playfully
slapped JC's arm as he continued to attack his neck. Lance was so caught up
in the feelings his lover was sending through his body he was totally
unaware that it was now JB that he had wrapped in his arms. The last
things Lance remember were how the intense feelings of lust turned to
excruciating pain as the vampire Jean-Baptiste drained him of his last
ounce of life, and the brilliant white light that enveloped them just
before everything went black...
An hour later the guys came up to there floor after their night of
celebration, at first JC had wanted to run after Lance to try to apologize
and make things right. Joey had convinced him that Lance probably needed
some time to himself to cool off before he talked to him. Reluctantly JC
had agreed, and tried to forget his troubles at the moment and enjoy the
company of his friends.
Entering his suite now, he had expected to find Lance waiting up
for him, but found nothing. Turning to go he heard strange noises coming
from the bedroom and he immediately went to investigate. Seeing the door
slightly ajar he poked his head in and discovered to his horror that his
worst nightmare had come true. There on the bed he saw Lance wrapped in the
arms of JB, with a contented smile on his face. JC just stood there as
tears began to invade his eyes and his world came crashing down
around. Lance, the love of his life, had turned his back on him and the
future the had planned to share together for the thrill of a one night
stand. He slowly made his way down the hall till he came upon Justin's
room. With as much strength as he could muster he knocked and waited for
Justin to get to him.
"Hey Jayce, what's up?" That was all it took as JC collapsed,
sobbing uncontrollably in the arms of his best friend. Justin managed to
get him to the bed where he laid him down and continued to hold him till he
calmed down. After a few minutes Justin could tell by his even breathing
that JC was asleep. He didn't know what the problem was but he was sure he
would get to the bottom of it tomorrow. He rolled over to switch off the
light on the bedside table, which caused JC to stir. Turning back, he
wrapped his arms around JC and quickly followed him into sleep.

Well thats all for now. I know its a bit short, but this is my first
attempt at writing this type of story. Let me know if you think I should
continue.
