Subject: Celebrity-Boy Bands,To Be Loved by Fame, Chapter 4

OK, here it is. The fourth part of To Be Loved By Fame. I hope ya'll like
it. And remember, I'm still a virgin, and this is my first story, so go
easy. Love all of you!!!!

Hey guys, just a reminder. This says nothing about the sexual orientation
of the BSB, or Nick Carter. It's strictly a fantasy.

TO BE LOVED BY FAME (CHAPTER 4)

I quickly froze at the sound of the voice. I threw the covers over both of
us, and peered out to see who it was. Then, I saw Sheri doubled over in
laughter at the foot of our bed.

"ARGH, Sheri. You really have to walk in at the wrong time," I said
looking pretty pissed.

"Oh, sorry Dev, oh, and is that Nick that's lying in bed with you without
any clothes on," she asked stupidly.

"Oh, unh, actually, it is," Nick said as he popped out.

"AHHHH I saw Nick Carter without any clothes on in bed," Sheri screamed in
her "I'm 12 and an annoying bitch" voice.

"Uhm, a friend of yours, Devon," Nick looked a little nevously at me.

"Well, she won't be if she keeps this up. Look, Sheri, just stand outside
while we get dressed," I said assuming my fag in command voice.

"OH, ok Mr. Pissy, I'm going right now," she said and stalked out.

"Mad at you, Dev," Nick asked?

"Not really. She's just getting over the shock of you beautiful you are,"
I laughed.

We quickly put our clothes back on, and walked prepared to go out and meet
Sheri.

"Just be nice and act like your're her personal servant," I said, turning
to Nick and kissing his cheek.

"Look Dev, uhm, you know that in a week, the group and me will be leaving
San Fran. Uh, I really think we have something important going, and I
don't want this to be a one week thing," Nick said, tears starting to form
in his eyes.

"Uh, I know that Nick. I really want this to be more of an important
relationship then that, but I don't know how to do it. I still have
college to get through, and I haven't really settled on a career," I said
starting to realize how dumb I'd been into trying to have a relationship
with a celebrity.

"Devon Michael, Don't give up on me. I pomise I'll find a way to work this
out, even if it means dragging you along on our tour," he said grabbing me
and staring straight into my eyes.

"Nick, that's really nice of you, but I have no clue what my parents will
think, and I don't know what I will do once we, well, aren't together any
longer," I said looking at the ground.

"DEVON, I am never going to break up with you. If anybody, it will have to
be you that starts it. I'm pretty famous, and I have met a ton of people
in my life. I know I want you because you have that qualities that I want
in a boyfriend, or possibly a partner. I will never be untrue to you," he
said seriously pulling me in for another kiss.

I started to tear up from what he said, and we just stood there kissing in
the middle of the hotel room.

"Ahhghem," Sheri said loudly.

"Oh, Sheri, sorry. We were just coming out to see you," I said sheepishly.

"Oh, were you now, comon lovebirds. Let's get some food," she said, not
able to be stern with us any longer.

We exited the room and walked toward the elevator.

"Sher, I'm so glad to see you in person. I'm glad you came," I said
looking ather.

"Oh, Dev, I was soooo worried that you would have died and left me all
along and I would never have seen you again," she said tearing up.

I just hugged her in the middle of the hall, and she kissed my forhead.

"Don't ever go anywhre without me again, you hear," she said.

I then looked up at Nick who was feeling a little uncomfortable.

"Nick, don't worry. Just friends," I said.

"I know babe, but whenever I see you with someone else, even if it's not
serious, it hurts," he said sadly.

"Well, I'm just gonna have to make Sheri pay for that," I said.

I threw Nick against the wall, and kissed him passionately for about 20
seconds. Sheri was looking a little grossed out at us.

"Unh, um, I guess I'm not jealous anymore," Nick smiled as he wiped spit
from the corner of his mouth.

"Good, I'm glad you aren't. Well, come on. We've gotta get out of this
hotel safely without a million teenage girls mobbing us like last time.
Nick put on his hat and sunglasses.

"Nick, I hate to inform you that it's dark out. Just pull your hat down.
Oh, and anything that covers your beautiful eyes has got to go," I said
sweetly but firmly.

"You're so sweet," he said looking me in the eyes while slipping his
sunglasses into his coat pocket.

We entered the elevator, and managed to slip quietly out of the lobby
without being noticed. We walked quietly to the limo, and got in just as
someone noticed.

"Driver, the Palace Place Restaurant please," Nick said.

"Jeez Nick, isn't that the most expensive restaurant in San Fransisco?"
Sheri asked.

"Yup, and I'm doing all the paying, so no arguments," he said.

"Nick, you treat me too well," I said cuddling up to him.

"Yeah, well you really better pay me back later tonight," he said grinning
wickedly.

"Oh, trust me, I will," I said kissing him again.

"Ahem, could you guys please keep it to the min. around me," Sheri said.

"Oh, sorry," Nick said giving her his puppy dog face.

"Hmm, what I would do with you if you were straight," Sheri said grinning
at Nick.

Nick grabbed me quickly. "Sorry, but Dev over here got here first, so
please come again later," he laughed.

We arrived at the restaurant, and It was the nicest thing in the world. I
had never seen a place that was so formal. We ate mostly in silence since
we couldn't do much in public.

"Hey babe, I'm gonna pay the bill and go out to catch some air. This place
is getting to me," Nick said.

"OK, we'll be out in a sec," I smiled at him.

"Well, Sher, It's good to see you again," I sighed looking at her.

"Dev, you scared the shit out of me earlier with that plane crash. I am
glad for you and Nick though," she said grinning.

We talked for another half an hour, and then we noticed the time.

"Jeez, Nick is gonna kill me," I said.

"No way, he loves you too much, but let's jet," she said.

We walked out of the restaurant and into the almost deserted street. The
limo was parked in front, so we opened the door.

"Has Mr. Carter gotten here yet?" I asked the driver.

"No sir, I haven't seen him yet," the driver said.

"Oh shit. Sher, we've gotta find him. I hope he hasn't left being mad at
me for talking with you," I said hurriedly.

"Driver, could you wait for a little while," Sheri said.

"Sure," the driver replied.

Sheri and I walked down the street yelling Nick's name when I heard a faint
reply.

"Oh crap. That's him," I said.

We dashed down the street trying to find where the voice came from. We
turned in an alley, and Nick was lying face down next to a trash can, half
naked with bruises covering the lower part of his body, and blood dripping
from his chest and arms.

"Oh, god. This is too much. Sheri, call EMS now. I'll make see if he's
Ok," I said.

I bent down and pulled Nick's pants back up.

"Nick, is this what I think it is?" I asked.

"Unh-uh yea Dev," he said in a faint voice, his beautiful blue eyes glazing
over.

"Nick, don't leave me," I said.

"Dev, it h-hurts," he grunted in pain.

"I know Nick, but you must tell me what happened," I said.

"Uh-Ok. I was walking down the street looking at shops, when somebody
grabbed my from behind and pulled me into this alley. I really didn't get
a good look at the person, but they punched me, and stabbed in my arm, and
chest," he said, pointing to the blood that was now pooling on the cement.
"Well, he raped me and left. Then you came. I'm really sorry Dev, I
shouldn't have left you," Nick said, his face contorting from pain.

I hugged Nick's body close to me. "Babe, you are going to be just fine.
When you recover, we're getting you a body guard, I promise," I whispered.

The sound of sirens caught my ear, and I mentally thanked Sheri with my
heart and soul. The ambulance rounded the corner, and I moved away from
Nick. Three men came out and put Nick on the stretcher.

"E-excuse me, but can I ride with him," I asked the driver.

"Sure son, just hop in back," he said.

"Sher, I love you. Get the limo driver to take you to the hospital," I
said to Sheri.

"Dev, whatever happens, I love you," she said.

I jumped into the back of the ambulance just as the doors closed, and we
raced to the hospital.

I sat impatiently next to Nick's operation room, waiting for the doctor to
come out. The door opened slowly and the female who was seeing to Nick
came out.

"I'm very sorry Mr. Anderson, but Mr. Carter has a bad case of internal
bleeding, and he only has a 25-30-% chance of living. We will perform
surgury tommorow," she said gravely.

Sheri held me as I started to cry. "C-can I go in and see him?" I asked.

"Certainly," the doctor said, and left.

I walked into the room and saw Nick lying on a bed, an IV needly in his
arm, and bandages wrapped all over his body. I looked deep into his
perfect face and crystal blue eyes, and started to cry.

"D-Dev, I'm so sorry," Nick said as he feebly tried to reach up and touch
my face.

"No Nick, I'm the one who needs to feel sorry. How could I have ever been
so stupid, letting you go out in downtown alone," I said.

"Devon, don't be mad at yourself. I want to die happily, not thinking that
you feel bad," Nick said to me, brushing the tears out of my face with his
uninjured arm.

"NICK, you are not going to die. We are going to go through this together,
I promise you," I said sternly.

"Devon, I really want to live, but 25-30% isn't much. I don't know if I'll
still be here tommorow, so I want to give you this now.

He reached underneath the bed and pulled out a black jewelry box. I
gasped.

"Open it," he said, some blood starting to drip down his mouth to his chin.

It was a gold chain with two diamond rings on it. I gasped starting to cry
again.

"Devon, here's what I want you to do. Keep those two rings on the chain.
If I die , I want you to put one of them on my ring finger at my funeral,"
he said choking on blood.

"Nick, don't be silly. You won't die, I know you won't. I'll be here for
you, I promise," I said sobbing now.

I laid my head on Nick's chest.

Suddenly, the machine next to Nick's bed started making beeping noises.
Nick's eyes glazed over and his hand went limp.

Immediately, doctor's stated coming into the room and surrounding his bed.

"We're performing surgury now," one of them yelled. Another doctor took my
arm and pulled me out into the hall.

"Stay here, son. I don't want you to be in there for this," he said
sternly.

"Sher, he's dying," I said leaning my head on her shoulder.

"N-no Devon, No. He'll live, you'll see," she said crying also.

I lifted the necklace from my hand and put it around my neck.

"H-he asked me t-to put a ring around his finger at his funeral," I said
starting to choke on my words.

"D-Dv, he's the nicest thing that has ever happened to you," Sheri said.

I fell asleep that night on Sheri's shoulder outside Nick's hospital room.
Thousands of thoughts were flying throught my mind, and I closed my eyes
praying that he would still be there tommorow.

OK, I guess that was a sad one, and I myself hate cliffhangers, so here's a
secret. I really doubt that I'll have Nick die. I mean, that would be the
end of the series. Well, I hoped you liked this one evn though it was sad.
