I would love to hear from you!! * * * * * * * * * Westlife Romance - Part 9 It was a question that Nicky totally did not expect, and it caught him off guard. His mind was spinning, his heart was racing. It was not so much that he was afraid of telling Bryan and Shane that he was gay, but more importantly, he was afraid of having to explain his relationship with Kian. For one thing, he wasn't sure if Kian would be too happy about telling the lads after their relationship. "Uh, why would I need to flinch, Bryan? It's not like you had a contagious disease or anything," Nicky answered nervously. "Well, when I told Shane, he wasn't freaking out but he was caught off guard. You didn't seem surprised at all. Most straight people would..." "What are you trying to say, Bry?" Nicky cut in, somewhat testily. "Nothing..." Bryan replied, a little surprised at Nicky's reaction. "It's just that..." "It's just that you don't think it's normal for a straight guy to react so calmly right?" Nicky cut in again, "so you think I'm gay, right?" Shane gave Bryan eye signals to drop the topic, as it became obvious they had waded into a touchy topic. Before Bryan had a chance to react, Nicky sighed and walked over to the bed. Sitting down, he took a moment to collect his thoughts. "You're right...who am I trying to kid?" Shane and Bryan looked at each other with a puzzled, unable to make out what Nicky was saying. Looking up at his two band mates, Nicky met their gaze, trying to read their thoughts. "I'm gay..." It was a simple revelation. No long explanation. No touching story. Just two words. And with that, the secret was out. "Hey, that's cool, Nix..." Shane offered. "We're totally fine with it, you know." "Yeah," Bryan agreed enthusiastically. "Absolutely no problemo!!" "Yeah," Nicky whispered, "but that's not all..." Bryan and Shane sat down across from Nicky, waiting for the rest of the revelation. "I'm involved with someone..." "That's great!! That's awesome!!" Bryan replied with his trademark cheeriness. "Who is it? Do we know him?" Nicky answered by simply nodding. "Who is it, then?" Shane asked in a somewhat more controlled manner than Bryan. "It's...it's Kian..." "KIAN?????" exclaimed Shane and Bryan in unison. They certainly did not expect Nicky to be involved with one of their own lads. "How long has this been going on?" Shane asked curiously. Deep down he was a little upset that he was kept in the dark about this. After all, he and Kian were best friends. "A couple of months now..." "No wonder!!!" Bryan exclaimed as if he had made an important discovery. "What are you talking about McFadden?" Shane inquired. "You know...think about it...those smiles, hugs, and stuff...and how Nicky always pays more attention to Kian than anyone else..." "You really love him, don't you?" Bryan asked. "He means the world to me," Nicky answered, a dreamy smile evident on his face. Shane and Bryan moved to give their band mate a big hug, who by now was only slightly drenched from the earlier prank. "Well, I'm happy for you...for both of you." "Thanks Shane...thanks Bry...you lads are okay with this, right?" "Of course we are!!" As the early morning gave way to mid-morning, the lads decided to wake the others up for breakfast before heading to the studio in the afternoon. The three lads sat in the breakfast room waiting for Kian and Mark. Kian showed up first and immediately, Nicky walked up to him and gave him a kiss. Kian was shocked at what Nicky was doing but Nicky whispered that Shane and Bryan already knew. "So...you guys are fine with this?" Kian asked tentatively. "Yep..." Shane replied with a smile, "except for that fact that you didn't tell me about it. You owe me one, Egan!!" "Ok, ok...point taken," Kian answered with a smile, with his hands up in the air in mock surrender. It was then that they heard someone cough. Turning around, Kian saw Mark standing in the doorway. "What's going on?" "Um...well, let's see..." Bryan began, looking to the others to help him out. "Mark, to make a long story short, I'm gay," Nicky explained. "And Kian is my boyfriend." Mark stood there taking in the information. "Oookkkaaayy...wasn't quite what I was expecting to hear...but that's good to know..." There was a sly smile on Mark's face, and everyone knew that he was okay with it. "Oh, and while we're at it," Bryan interrupted, "I'm gay too." "Anyone else?" Mark asked in mock annoyance, looking at Shane. "Hey, don't look at me!!" Shane laughed, "I'm just an innocent bystander." Breakfast continued with everyone talking to and laughing with each other. Kian was the first to finish. "I'm gonna go get something in my room before we head to the studio. I'll meet you guys in the lobby." "Ok, don't take too long," Shane replied. Walking out the door, Kian clenched his fists. "What the hell was Nicky thinking, telling everyone about us? He was upset, upset that Nicky broke his promise of keeping their relationship a secret. He was so angry that he didn't even bother closing his room door, heading into the bathroom to freshen up. Back in the breakfast room, everyone were finishing up their breakfast. "I'm gonna go grab my sunglasses," Nicky said as he rose from his seat. "And probably to check on your boyfriend," Bryan said with a grin. "Yeah, whatever," Nicky answered with an equally big grin. Walking down the hall, he found the door to Kian's room open. He walked in and waited for Kian to come out of the bathroom. When he did, Nicky walked up to give his boyfriend a kiss. But the kiss wasn't returned. And Nicky was puzzled. "What's wrong, baby?" When Kian didn't answer, Nicky persisted. "What's the matter, Kian?" Kian turned to face his boyfriend, but there was no smile on his face. "What the fuck were you thinking, Nicky, telling everyone about us? Well, are you happy now?
