Subject: Wishes of the Heart chapter 3

	Ok. Here it is again almost exactly 1 month after the other one;
I'm noticing a pattern here with this. It is not my intention I
swear. Anyway as normal this is a story from my head that has no basis in
fact and is not meant to imply anything about the members of the bands
mentioned. Email me at firesong17@yahoo.com, I do still have the AOL one at
firesong18@aol.com, but it's easier to just email me at the yahoo one, as
with the AOL I often delete things from address's I don't recognize. To
much spam.

The sun shone down on the city of Charlotte, NC brightly, filling
people's heads with thoughts of swimming, playing in parks, and long
leisurely drives through the countryside with family and friends gathered
close around.
If however one was up high, and had a telescope, and by some shear
quirk of coincidence had happened to have said telescope trained on the
window in a certain hotel, they would have gotten quite a surprise. For not
only would they have seen ten of the hottest young men in the country, if
not the world, namely the bands BackStreet Boys, and N'sync, but they would
have been privy to something not heard of since biblical times. Magic. They
also would have seen those ten sexy guys in various states of panic.

Lance's room

Chaos erupted as the full impact of what just happened sunk into
everyone's consciousness. The room, which moments before had been a
shambles, completely destroyed, looked perfect. Not even one of the strings
from the tassels on the pillows was disturbed.
Nick it seemed, was the one that would start things off.
"What in the hell just happened? One second the room is filled with
wind and lightning, the next it's calm. Than there is a, while admittedly
extremely good looking, guy floating, yes FLOATING in mid air that fixes
the place up. What is happening?"
"I can answer that if you will all sit down. I do apologize as it
is rare that a genie appears in..."
	Justin interrupted incredulous.
"GENIE? As in granting three wishes?"
A brief look of anger crossed the genie's face. The eyes, seconds
ago a gorgeous sapphire that rivaled even Brian's, darkened to almost
black, and it seemed, if you looked into those eyes long enough, they would
reach out and shatter your very existence. For one moment, animosity, and
anger radiated off the young man in palpable waves that had Justin running
behind Lance and hiding, shaking almost uncontrollably.
The genie lowered and shook his head, sighed, and raised it again,
his eyes once again crystal clear, and bluer than the sky at the instant of
dawn.
"For that I apologize young sir. Now, as I was saying, it is very
unusual for a genie to appear to more than one person. Normally the
summoner is alone at the time, and unless he wishes, no one else can see,
or hear the genie. Most unusual...what were you doing in bed with the
summoner oh cowering one?"
Everyone's eyes turned to Lance, or more specifically to Justin who
still cowered behind Lance. Justin peaked out over Lance's shoulder, in
what was actually a very cute way.
	"What?"
"Justin," Jc asked a bit timidly, "is there something going on
between you and Lance? I mean if there is there isn't any problems from us,
just wondering ya know?"
"Lance? No. I woke up early today, and since I did it with no one
waking me up I figured I'd surprise Lance, but Lance was asleep. So I was
just about to leave, when he woke up, asked me what I think was 'Justin
what are you doing here?' and than all hell broke loose... and I think all
you guys came in here a bit after that. The rest as they say is history."
"Oh, ok. Just wondering. Now Mr. ah...um...what do we call you?"
"You can call me Alec, as that is as good a name as any, and you,"
he broke off pointing at Nick whose mouth was hanging open as his eyes
roamed up and down Alec's body. The pecs, and the perfect set of abs, all
with a smooth look, not a hair anywhere except on his head had cause Nick
to go into overdrive, "close your mouth. It's unseemly to stare with your
mouth open."
Nick's mouth closed with an audible snap, but his eyes never
stopped there moving, and if one looked closely one would detect the
stirrings in Nick's jeans, and the angry look directed at first Nick and
then Alec from Brian.
"Ok, uh...Alec, exactly what is going on here?
Alec looks at Jc as if probing every fiber of his being. Jc begins
to feel awkward as the gaze holds his for what seems like eternity, and
Alec's eyes take on a far away look, as if looking at something so far
away, that it was impossible to understand the distances involved.
"Light, Jc. You are filled with light and love, and a music that
can make the world weep were you to let it out. You are also filled with
sadness...a longing for something so close, yet somehow as far away as the
farthest star...something that keeps you awake in the middle of the
night. Something that is on your mind at all times...it's..." Alec suddenly
stops and turns his head away, blushing slightly.
"I apologize for that Jc. I just wanted to know a bit more about
you. I guess I went a bit far."
Jc just stood there, tears filing his eyes, threatening to spill
over at any second. His eyes seemed to be far away, almost lost, as if
Alec's words had shredded some sort of boundary inside. Jc wiped his eyes
and the moment passed.
"To answer your question Jc, Lance is the summoner. The song he
sang is an ancient verse that opens the door to me to leave the ring and
come out, or, to be summoned. Last night Lance began to sing the song, but
he didn't finish it, he left off one word before he fell asleep. That word,
'here' just happened to be the first thing he said this morning. Thus the
song was still completed, and I popped out."
"Why were you stuck in a ring? Isn't a genie normally in a lamp?"
Joey questioned quietly.
"No. There are two kinds of genies: the Genies of the Rings, and
the Genies of the Lamp. The Genies of the Lamp are traditionally, and
normally the most powerful. Ok, if you want the story, why don't you all
sit down, I feel bad making you stand."
The boys quickly sat down in either Indian style on the floor, on
the couch, on the chair, or since it was his room, Lance laid on the bed.
"Now, the Genies of the Lamp are the more powerful of the two
kinds, but to keep the balance there is always one Genie of the Ring that
is more powerful that the strongest Genie of the Lamp. This genie has
abilities that no other genie does, and can often break rules that are
unbreakable for most and even than, most of the rules don't apply to this
genie. However the balance must be maintained. So, for that genie, there is
a twist on the 'rub the ring and out pops the genie.' For that genie...you
must sing the song that unlocks the door."
Alex waited for a bit when he was done with the story. He wondered
who would get it first. The blond with the slightly disjointed music that
for some reason was so endearing, the one named Jc with such sad music in
his heart, the one that seemed to harbor such bright music but it was so
locked up in darkness. Maybe the summoner would get it first? His music was
strange, very familiar in so many ways. He looked around at their thinking
faces, assessing them through their music. Each of them harbored such
bright music, powerful and open, a few were guarded and the one was locked
into a cycle of hatred, hopefully that tune would change.
While he waited for them to actually get the concept, he thought
about how much time had passed. He had picked up from Lance's mind that
this was 1999, which would make him about 600 years older, not that that
was a long time to a genie, but it was a long time to mortal man. He
wondered exactly what humans had done for themselves in the past 600
years. Lance's mind was, for the most part, still clouded to him. It would
require a bit more contact with him before he could inundate himself into
his mind and actually be able to understand this strange new world. Luckily
language was always easy to understand.
Alec was broken out of his thoughts by AJ's sudden shout.
"You are the King of the Genies?"
"Yes. I am the one that is able to break most of the rules, however
the term "King" is not used. There is no title exactly for the position of
having the most power. The only thing that the person commands is a great
deal of respect."
The ten guys looked around at each other, each thinking of what
they would do if they had the ring, and Alec as their genie. Not all of
those thoughts however were wonderful, and quite a bit were selfish. Alec
winced a bit at a disharmonic note in the music.
"So let me get this straight," Chris interjected excitedly. "You
are going to grant Lance three wishes? Like anything he wants?"
"Technically anything he wants. There are of course some
limitations on..."
Lance walked over to Alec and started whispering in his ear, Alec
waved his hand and all sounds from the two of them seemed to stop while
they apparently had a full conversation, it seemed that Lance wanted
something, and Alec was arguing against it. They finally shook hands and
Alec waved his hand again banishing the shield of silence.
"Well it would seem you all owe a lot to Lance, I don't know many
that would go to this much trouble for their friends."
"Lance," Jc asked confused, " what is he talking about?"
"Oh just that I've arranged something special."
"Quite right. You see Jc, and the rest of you, Lance picked up on
the fact that only the master, or summoner can see the genie without the
summoner's express permission, but all of you can see me. Therefore, Lance
has asked a favor and I can find nowhere in the laws that this is illegal."
The guys looked at each other. Neither of them had any clue what
was going on, however the members of N'sync could see that look on Lance's
face that meant he was up to mischief. They had been with Lance long enough
that they knew this would be good and that they didn't want to ruin the
moment.
"Lance has requested, and it is granted, that the 9 of you share my
power. What that means is that each of you get three wishes. Lance of
course gets the most powerful wishes to himself, and also because he wears
the ring he can cancel one of your wishes if he chooses. I do hope that you
use your wishes wisely."
Lance looked at the guys and couldn't help it. He tried though,
putting up a valiant effort against the storm of giggles that burst from
his lips. Each of them looked totally floored.
Brian was the first to raise his eyes and speak.
"We all get three wishes? So that would be a total of 30?"
"Yes Brian. Three wishes of whatever your heart desires. Money?
Power? Fame? To travel? Anything. Anything you want, anything you desire is
at your fingertips. All you have to do is ask. Simply call out my name and
if I am out of the ring I shall appear, but only Lance can call me from the
ring. Now...does anyone have any wishes they want to make before I return
to the ring for a quick nap?"
Kevin, ever the voice of reason, spoke up.
"I think that before we just start wishing, we should think about
this for a bit. If someone really has a wish they want to make go ahead,
but make sure you think about it, and any consequences."
"Oh yes, consequences. Almost forgot that. You have to be very
careful when you wish for something. I can't kill someone, no genie can,
that is a Law that is unbreakable. Also another Law that can't be broken is
the Law of the Dead. Once a mortal has died he is beyond the power of any
Genie. I can heal the mortally injured, and the terminally ill of most
things, but once their heart stops for that instant, they pass beyond the
Veil that none can breach. However, you still have to be careful what you
wish for, and how you word what you wish, and the emotional state you are
in at the time. There are somethings I can do that I consider "free"
wishes. You will find out about them as time goes. However, a wish made in
anger is a dangerous thing. If you wished 'I wish that I would never lay
eyes on you again,' than you will never see that person again, even if they
are right in front of you. So please, be careful what you wish for.
"I think Kevin's idea is a good one. Take sometime to think about
things, think about your life, and what you feel is missing."
With a snap of his fingers, lights swirled around the body of Alec,
obscuring him from view. There was a flash of light and than a stream of
lights entered the ring on Lance's finger.
"Well," Lance asked, "what do we do now?"
"I think we should all go back to our rooms, go back to sleep, and
think about this for a bit." Kevin said with a hint of authority in his
voice that the Backstreet Boys responded to immediately, and much to his
own surprise, so did the members of N'sync.
Before he walked out the door, Justin turned to look at Lance,
smiled and walked out closing the door behind him.

The hall

Jc walked down the hall towards his room, his mind spinning. How
had Alec done that? He had come close to revealing a secret that Jc had
kept from his family, friends, and bandmates from the beginning. Not that
he was gay, that was out among the ten of them, and he was very happy that
Howie was not a member of N'sync, and that Joey had mellowed a bit. He was
of the firm belief that Howie's earlier yelling at Lance about the room had
been more from the fact that Lance was gay, and not that the room was a
mess.
But how had he done that. He looked at him and suddenly was
speaking so oddly, and what he said had brought Jc to tears. It was all he
could do not to run out of the room. He knew if he did that a certain
person would follow and all the secrets would be revealed, boundaries
broken forever, and that was something he couldn't let happen. Ever. Even
if...he had to wish it away.

Ok. How was that? I know there hasn't been much sex in these last
two chapters, there is more on the way I promise. So...what was up with
Alec and Jc? And what was that music he kept referring to? And since Alec
is the strongest genie just what are the limitations that he can break with
ease? And what about those "freebies" he mentioned? Email me if you want to
ask a question, make a comment for good or for bad. I love receiving
email. Also, I know that this is a problem I'm having, is that I can have
the story work really good when I concentrate on a few people at a time,
but when I get all ten of them in a room at a time, I get a bit
confused. So bare with me as I am trying to do better either by having
fewer people together more often, or learning to deal with more people, but
please email me and tell me what you think. Firesong17@yahoo.com.

Thanks, Jason
