Subject: Wishes of the Heart 7

Hey there, it's me again. Here is installment number 7. I'm getting
a bit better at this I guess. However, I seem to have done something
severely wrong, as I got literally no messages whatsoever about the last
installment. Well, I did get one, from Mike. I love that guy. He's the only
one that emailed me, and I'm thrilled he did, as I was thinking of wrapping
the story up quicker than I had planned. So THANK YOU MIKE!!!!! (love that
guy * Grins *)
If you don't like the story, I'd like an email about it so I can
alter it a bit to something you do like. Well...alterations within
reason. If you do like it please tell me. It's really nice to read emails
where the person tells you what they liked, what they didn't, and any
ideas, or 'wishes' they may have for the future. If you are mail me at
either of these, lightwind17@mindspring.com or lightwind20@aol.com. If you
want to contact me in another way than use these: firesong18 (aim),
lightwind17 (aim), or 9005689 (ICQ).
For those of you who do actually read this, if you aren't legal in
your area, than this is illegal I guess, so you are warned, however, if you
like it email me.
This also has no bearing on real life other than the fact that
those that are in it, Nsync, and the BackStreet Boys are real.
	I hope you enjoy it.
Oh, for clarification, I'm doing this as if Alec left Lance and Jc
15 minutes before this section, and I'm going to have had those that were
in the restaurant, in there for about an hour and a half. Just for a time
reference.

Last time

"I wish I could just leave here right now, and your pasty ass got
used by any guy that wanted to!"
      	Snap!

Present

Nick's head snapped up at the sound only to see someone on the
screen fall down from the blow to the back of their head by a 2 x 4 that
was now broken in half. He quickly turned back to the guy to see that the
rage that had been there before was simply the calm before the storm.
"You little faggot! You've been teasing me all night and now, that
hot tight ass of yours is mine!"
Nick's heart leapt up into his throat as the guy grabbed a handful
of his hair and hauled his face right before his. At this distance, the
stench from the alcohol was unbearable, making Nick feel like he was
drinking it, instead of just smelling it. The man's eyes were pure red,
which meant he had had a lot to drink, as if his breath hadn't already
given that away.
Nick didn't know what to do. He knew he couldn't' beat this guy,
even as drunk as he was, in a fight. Also when he had looked up at the
screen before, it had been bright enough to illuminate the theatre. They
were alone.
The man began to paw Nick's toned body, and murmured to himself in
satisfaction. He slid his hands up Nick's shirt and tweaked his nipples
hard, causing Nick to yelp and jump.
"Yer a hot one ain't ya? Yer ass is so tight, I'm gonna enjoy this
punk. I'm gonna bust yer cherry. I was going to be nice and gentle, but
now, now I'm going to fuck the shit out of you."
	"What if someone comes in?"
"Do you think they'll care? They won't hear much over the movie,
and you won't see 'em anyway. As your face is going to be pressed into the
ground, as my dick rips your tight ass wide open."
Fear exploded in Nick. He had never had a violent episode with
anyone. The closes was that guy earlier, and he had simply been a bit more
forceful than Nick was used to, this guy however, wanted nothing more than
to totally use and abuse Nick.
"Besides kid, you won't be the first person I've fucked in here
against their will. And they all were limping out of here, and never said a
word. Who'd believe them, and what good would it do. You can't ID me
kid. Now, are you going to walk calmly or am I going to drag you?"
Nick's breath was short and shallow. His throat was dry as a bone
and he doubted he could answer the person if he tried. He could almost feel
his mind shutting down; trying to protect itself from what it knew was
going to happen.
However, in the process, while his mind was pulling everything in,
trying to guard itself, a memory unlocked. A very recent memory as it was
of this morning. It was something Alec had said:
"Three wishes of whatever your heart desires. Money? Power? Fame?
To travel? Anything. Anything you want, anything you desire is at your
fingertips. All you have to do is ask. Simply call out my name and if I am
out of the ring I shall appear, but only Lance can call me from the ring."
Nick's mind latched onto that phrase "Simply call out my name." He
prayed that Alec had come out of the ring in the past few hours. He looked
at the guy, and looked into his eyes. The man, seeing a slight change in
Nick's behavior, backed off for a bit.
Nick closed his eyes, and prayed. He than opened his eyes and
yelled one word,
	Alec!"

	Apologies?

Walking down the hall towards Lance's room, Howie's mind was going
at a mile a minute. He realized that his past actions would not help him in
this plan, but if he were successful, he would be able to do something he
wanted to do for a long time; all with a simple wish.
He straightened his shirt, and made sure the package looked
good. Thus situated he raised his hand and knocked on the door. He heard
some shuffling inside, and a "Just a minute!"
The door opened and Lance's smiling face appeared from the other
side. A smiling face that quickly dissolved upon sight of Howie.
If there was one thing about Lance that everyone knew, it was that,
despite how he might feel about someone, he would never be rude to them,
even if his life depended on it.
	"Can I help you Howie?"
Howie smiled inside at the tone in Lance's voice. It was pleasant,
and calm. To anyone else it would be a normal tone, however to anyone that
spent any time with Lance, it was the coldest his voice ever really got.
"I just wanted to apologize for what I said, and did earlier. I was
just afraid, and unfortunately you were the first target to present
itself. I'm really sorry Lance. And as proof..."
Howie's voice had been warm, almost playful throughout the whole
conversation. He handed Lance a brightly wrapped package, in dark green
wrapping, one of Lance's favorite colors.
	"What is this?"
"Umm...it's a gift. You see what you have to do is open the
wrapping, and than the box, and you see what it is. It's a sort of novel
thing, it's been around for only a few millennia."
Lance blushed at Howie's words, and than despite his best efforts,
started giggling. He smiled at Howie, and than unwrapped the paper, which
Howie held out his hand to hold. He smiled again and handed it to him.
He looked down at the white box, and slowly opened it. What he saw
inside made him gasp in delight, and in astonishment. Inside the box, in
velvet lining lay a dagger. The blade looked literally to be of liquid, as
it was in a snake like pattern, with a finish that reflected the lights in
wild ways, making the blade look like it was shifting water. The hilt was
of a white gold, with the only real color being the two emeralds. One of
the stones was the pommel stone, and the other was at the point where the
blade and the hilt met. The dagger was exquisite, and beautiful beyond
anything Lance could think of.
He looked up at Howie, who was wearing a small smile on his face.
"I take this to mean you like it?"
	"I, I love it. It's beautiful. I don't know what to say. It's not
anything I expected, and I'm certainly surprised, but thank you Howie. It's
wonderful. You didn't have to."
"Yes I did. I've realized I've been a big asshole. Brian reamed me
out over it, and all of the other things I've done. He cornered me for
about half an hour, and just went off. I've only seen him like that
once. When he left, I just sat and thought, and realized what an asshole
I've been. So, I figured I'd start apologizing, by starting with the last
person I made angry."
Lance looked at Howie, and smiled.
"Than you are forgiven Howie. All you had to say was "Sorry." You
didn't have to buy me this."
"Yes I did. I remembered hearing about how you loved things like
these, daggers and swords, so I wanted to get you one to cement the
apology."
"Thank you Howie. Thank you so much."
"Anytime. I hafta run. See you later?"
	"Sure."
Howie smiled one more time, before turning and going back down the
hall. Once he heard the door to Lance's room close, he started to
chuckle. One he got inside his room, he fell on the bed laughing.
He had studied the members of N'sync for a while. And he knew just
where to strike. Right at Lance. Lance was the one that kept them
organized, and the one that they ran to with a problem, even though Jc was
their 'father figure,' as Kevin was of the BackStreet Boys.
Lance however wasn't as strong as Kevin, or as strong as Jc. Lance
was a great deal more emotional. Howie knew that if he got Lance firmly on
his side, Lance's emotions would keep him there. After all, one doesn't
betray a friend, simply because others say he's no good.
Once Lance was firmly on his side, he would work next on
Justin. Justin was a bit of a harder nut to crack, because of his close
bond with Jc. Justin would go to Jc at first, and Howie knew that Jc would
caution Justin about Howie's actions. However, as Howie continued to be a
nice guy, it would cause a conflict in Justin's mind between what he felt,
and what Jc was saying.
Justin would go to Lance for help, and Lance would be the kicker
in getting Justin to join his side. Once Justin agreed, and committed
himself, he would get Jc. Jc, for all his strength, had a fatal flaw in
Justin. Jc couldn't, no matter what, say no to Justin.
Chris and Joey, the most cynical members of the group, would
possibly be able to stand against Lance and Justin, but not when Jc was
tossed into the mix. In N'sync, Justin was the one you wanted to protect,
but was capable of wrapping you around his finger in a heartbeat. Lance was
the one to go to when you had a problem; however Jc, Jc was the
strength. He was the one that kept them going, the one who always gave
support to any that asked. With Jc joining Justin and Lance, Chris and Joey
would fall and one of the bands would be on his side.
In his own band, he'd 'apologize' to the slut, Nick. Nick was the
extreme emotional one, and he would gently remind Nick of all the good
times they used to have. Nick would forgive him and run right to
Brian. Brian would be a bit skeptical, but if Nick would forgive him, who
was he not to. Brian of course would go to Kevin. They were so close, that
Kevin would forgive Howie on the strength of Brian's word alone.
Howie would have to take a direct hand with AJ, but when it all
came down to it, he'd have them all. For once they saw that N'sync was
behind him, they would come over to.
In the end, it all came down to Lance.

	Memories

As they sat in the restaurant, AJ, Kevin, Chris, and Joey talked
about what exactly they were going to wish for. As had been pointed out
earlier, there weren't many material things that they could wish for. After
all, who wants to waste a wish on something that you could buy for
yourself?
They had been here for almost an hour and a half now, and were
actually having a good time together. They had talked about many things;
management, the tour, the other members of the band, with the exception of
Howie, and of course, Alec.
As they were eating, Joey was looking around the restaurant. One of
his favorite things to do was people watch. He loved looking at people and
trying to figure out things that they could have done, been doing, will do
someday. Think about where they might have come from, and where they may be
going.
Joey loved N'sync, but he couldn't help wonder what life would have
been like for him without it. In order to give him a sense, he would use
the people he saw in his daily life, to experience vicariously, that normal
life. He knew that no matter what, he would always be Joey from N'sync, no
matter if they bombed tomorrow, or in 30 years. So, since he couldn't have
that nice normal life, he let the rest of the world do it for him.
As he was looking around, he reached for his soda, nodded at
something AJ had said, and than looked to the elevator as it dinged. He had
just taken a sip of his soda, which was unfortunate for Kevin who was
sitting across from him, as when he saw who it was that left the elevator,
he sprayed the soda across the table.
"Joey! What the hell was that for?"
Joey's only answer was to point to where the figure that had just
got off the elevator was walking. The other three turned, and just like
Joey were in total shock.
For the figure that had just emerged from the elevator wasn't one
that they had known very long, in fact, they had known him less than 12
hours. The figure in question, was in fact right now looking around slowly
at the hotel lobby, in what looked like surprise.
Joey was the first to comment.
"What is Alec doing off of his leash?"
The others could only shake their head in disbelief.
Kevin's "I don't know," didn't help to mollify the situation, so
Chris decided to find out what was going on.
	"Alec! Come here!"
Alec's head snapped around towards the foursome, and if Joey hadn't
seen it with his own eyes, he wouldn't believe it. It seemed as if Alec had
sighed, and dropped his shoulders in disappointment, right before he
started making his way over.
Once he had reached them, he nodded his head in greeting. He looked
down and saw the lists with the words "What I want to wish for" on the
table. He looked up at them and asked a simple question.
	"Why are they empty?"
The four looked at each other in confusion, until Alec pointed to
the lists. Kevin this time was the one that came up with the explanation.
"Ya see Alec, we aren't exactly poor. We aren't unknown. We have
fame, fortune, notoriety, and all those things. So we don't want to ask for
something that we can get by ourselves. Seems like a waste of a wish to
us. Wouldn't you agree?"
Alec smiled at them. Those who were his masters in this time were
certainly different from what he was used to. Those that were rich had
always wanted to have riches beyond the dreams of Avarice. Those in power
had always wanted to be kings, or emperors, or gods. Those that were
famous, had always wanted to be legends.
However, these young men it seemed, were cut of a vastly different
cloth. Alec idly wondered whether it was the time they were in, if maybe in
600 years humanity had managed to grow up, but he somehow doubted
it. Lance's mind had been full of things both great, and those
terrible. Somehow however, these men had managed to maintain some sort of
morality.
"Was there something you wanted masters?"
Kevin looked around quickly making sure no one had heard. Once
assured that no one had, he quickly looked at Alec.
"Just for my peace of mind, when we are out around other people,
please call us by our names, not 'master.' It's not something done in this
time."
"Yes mas...Kevin. Now, was there something you wanted?"
	Joey looked at Alec.
	"Where are you going?"
Alec looked back at Joey, and stated as quickly as possible.
"I'm going to go find Justin. I have to go make sure he understands
that I'm not angry with him. Do you happen to know where he is?"
Chris's attention was caught by Alec's words.
"Justin? Is there something wrong with him?"
"No Chris. As I stated, I'm looking for him so that I may make sure
that he knows that I bare him no ill feelings. That I'm not angry with him,
and that I will try to control my temper in the future."
Chris by this time wasn't in any better state of emotions. Worry
and concern for Justin, quickly turned to anger at Alec.
"What the fuck did you do to him?"
Alec looked back at Chris, and a soft smile appeared on Alec's
lips. The smile was one that set off primal instincts in those that saw
it. It brought up memories of being prey to a large predator, and of eyes
glowing in the dark.
"I could show you what I did Chris, but I will let your memories
answer this one. When Justin interrupted me earlier, I reacted in anger. My
reaction sent terror racing through Justin's mind for a bit. That isn't
something that is easy to get over quickly. I'm hoping if I apologize to
him, again, that it may help. Now, do you happen to know where he is?"
AJ looked at Alec over his sunglasses.
"Can't you just do a wammy jammy, and find him?"
	"Wammy jammy?"
"Yeah, you know. Snap your fingers and just appear next to him?"
"No, nor can I find him by mental tracking. I haven't been near
Justin long enough to get a sense of his mind. So unless he calls me, I
think I may be lost."
Kevin chuckled a bit at Alec. As powerful as he was, he had totally
no idea how this time worked, nor about the inventions that had occurred.
	"You could always call him."
"Call him? You mean if I simply call out his name than he will hear
me? Somehow I don't think that is possible. You haven't reached that level
yet."
Now Joey was the one who jumped into the act with a question.
	"What level is that?"
"Why the level upon which you...umm...never mind. I'm not allowed
to say."
"Hey! You can't just stop in the middle like that."
"I'm sorry, but I am bound. Now about this..."
Alec broke off as in his mind he heard his name screamed. The
caller was filled with uncontrollable fear. His face shifted from what
appeared to be someone having a nice conversation with friends, to someone
that had been given the 'kill them all' command; his face was stony and
hard, he had drawn himself up to his full height, and his skin had seemed
to pale to an almost gray. To anyone that looked at him, he looked like
incarnation of death itself.
The guys stared at him in sudden shock. AJ tentatively reached out
to touch Alec, but upon contact with Alec's skin, he received a mild
electric shock.
	"OUCH!"
By this point the other people in the restaurant had started to
notice. They started to whisper to their companions. The sound rose higher
and higher, until Kevin realized that if something weren't done soon, there
would be almost mass hysteria in the restaurant.
"Alec! If this keeps up people are going to panic! Do something!"
Alec seemed to wake up from his trance. He looked around at the full
restaurant, and raised his hand. In a deep booming voice, and with his hand
stretched out, he commanded, "Remember nothing about this!"
The guys watched in complete shock as each person in the restaurant
turned back to their meals, and started up their conversations again. AJ
turned to look back at Alec just in time to see him vanish in a burst of
light.
"Now where the fuck did he go?"
