				CHAPTER TWO


............ THE NEXT DAY


Charlie was sitting in his hideout near his house. He had made a hideout
three years ago with the help of his younger brother. Charlie and Luke had
built it together during the summer holidays and had used it non stop all
summer long. Now they hardly ever went there. But Charlie still used it

know how to treat the situation. He had left the house before Luke had
gotten up. While he knew he couldnt avoid him forever, he figured the
longer he left it maybe Luke would forget it ever happend. While he knew it
was unlikely he didnt want to think of the worst case scenarios.

Charlies thoughts were suddenly interupted by the sound of a stick breaking
a hundred metres away or so. Charlie stood up and looked around. At first
he couldnt see anything, then as he looked behind him he saw a small pair
of trainers coming towards him. He instantly recognised them as his
brothers Charlie swore under his breath, he wasnt ready for this. He wasnt
ready to face Luke. He was so ashamed of what had happend. He knew he may

He watched as Luke walked up to the entrance to the hideout. He looked in

to his older brother and looked at the bench then was about to sit on the
floor instead when he thought better of it and just sat next to
Charlie. While the bench was a couple of metres long he sat so that they

Luke didnt say anything for a few moments as the two boys just looked at
each other. Then after a few moments Luke took a deep
breath. "Um........... Charlie why are you avoiding me." That wasnt the
question Charlie had been expecting. "What makes you think im avoiding

to stall the boy from asking the real question. "Yeah you are when i woke
up this morning I went to talk to you but mum and dad said you were gone. I
figured you were probably here"

Charlie gulped loudly which made Luke look up at him. "No i wasnt avoiding
you I just wanted to leave early." Charlie could see that Luke didnt
believe him and he knw it was only a matter of time before it was
asked. Charlie considered just leaving, but knew that would only hurt Luke
even more.  Luke looked at Charlie then suprised Charlie by leaping at him
and wrapping the older boy in his arms. Charlie was shocked by this sudden
move. But he returned the hug with so much venom and the boys just sat

When the boys finally broke the hug they just looked at each other then
Luke spoke in a quiet voice.  "Charlie i know you are avoiding me because
of what I caught you doing last night......." Charlie braced himself
waiting for the bad news. He was getting close to
tears. "I.....uhm..........i didnt want you to......." Charlie stood up he
was about to walk out of their hideout. He had heard all he needed to
hear. Luke saw that Charlie was about to l;eave and begged him. "No please
Charlie dont leave.  What i was trying to say is. I didnt want you to

Charlie stopped dead in his tracks as he looked back at Luke. "Look Im glad
you enjoyed it but it was still very wrong. I should never have even
thought of it. Im so sorry. Ill do anything please just dont tell mum or
Neal." Luke seemed suprised by the thought that he would tell their
parents. He looked at Charlie and saidin an almost hurt voice. "Of course I
wouldnt tell mum and Dad. Im not stupid you know." Charlie realised that he
was telling the truth and sighed in relief. At least he now knew he didnt
have to worry about that. "No I know youre not stupid but what I did was
wrong and I caould get in big trouble if they did know."

Luke looked at him confused. "Why would you get into trouble. I liked what
was happening." Charlie sighed and said. "Just cause you liked it doesnt
make it right. What I did was against te law." Luke was still confused, but
he decided to leave it for another time as he walked up to Charlie and gave
him another big hug. "Well dont worry im not going to tell anyone."  With
that he grabbed Charlies hand and placed it directly on top of his jean

Luke looked ready to cry now. "Luke we cant do it I just told you
