Declan & Jake – Chapter 3


I woke up the next morning to find Jake wasn't lying next to me in bed. I
sat up and saw him standing at the window looking out into the city. He was
in deep thought because he jumped when I put my arms around him and pulled
myself closer to his half naked body.

"What you thinking about?"

"Nothing much...just how great last night was for me...I've never really
felt like I did last night...it was amazing"

"Well I'm glad you felt that way"

"So what happens with us now?"

"we take it one step at a time...remember what I said, I am not going
anywhere anytime soon...so don't worry Jake...I think we're going to have
something, just give it time to grow"

"I can do that...do you feel up to going out for something to eat?"

"Sure...what you have in mind?"

"I'm not sure, something quick and lite on the stomach" "I know of a good
diner a few blocks over where we can go."

"Sounds great let's go then."

I released him from our embrace so we could get dressed, and then head down
to the diner to grab a bite to eat. We made our way out of the building to
the diner, about 15 minute walk.  He stepped in front and opened the door
for me then followed me in.

The waiter, seeing us come in said, "Take a seat anywhere you like I'll be
with you shortly"

We sat down at a both in the back corner for some privacy, away from the
other patrons in the dinner. We sat in silence for a few minutes when he
opened his mouth like he had a question but couldn't ask it. When I noticed
him struggling with this I stepped up for him

"What are you feeling?"

"It's not what I'm feeling but what I wish I could do."

"Oh what do you wish you could do?"

"Hold your hand and kiss you right here."

"I wish you could too, Jake, but I don't think that's a wise move in such a
public place."

"I know, you're right, but a man can dream can't he?"

"Yeah, you can dream, and everyone's dreams come true someday."

"I sure hope so, Declan...cause the feelings I have for you are beyond my
understanding."

"I'm sure they are but we will take our time and see how it goes, ok?"

"Okay."

"Put your hand under the table I got something for you."

"Really? What do you have for me?"

"My hand, so put yours under the table."

He reached under the table and found my hand and laced his fingers with
mine and held onto my hand until we had to let go to eat the meal we
ordered. I took a bite of food; I had a thought run across my mind that
made me giggle. Jake looked at me

"What you giggling at Declan?"

"Nothing, I just can't believe I have you in my life the way I do that's
all...I find this all amazing to me, that's all Jake."

"Well, I hope you get use to it soon because what you said to me applies to
you too...I hope you know that?"

"I do, and thanks."

We finished up and went back to my apartment to get my car so I can take
Jake back to Maggie's where he could shower and change before we went out
again. I waited in the living room while he did those things. Maggie
brought me a cup of coffee, I took a sip then set the cup down. That's when
she punched my arm.

"What was that for?"

"For keeping my little brother out all night and not letting me know."

"I'm sorry Maggie, neither one of us thought to call you and let you
know...it won't happened again, I promise."

"It better not...I'll find you if it does."

"Got it!"

She giggled at me after that exchange and gave me a hug.

"I'm sorry for hitting you Declan...I was just worried with the storm we
had last night and stuff you know?"

"I know, Maggie, and you don't have to apologize we should have
called...I'm sorry, can you forgive me?"

"I forgive you."

"Thanks."

"You're welcome."

I heard Jake coming down the stairs so I got up and met him at the
bottom. He looked over to his sister and waved goodbye. She looked at him
and waved back. We walked out the door back to my car got in and drove to a
spot I knew Jake would like. He looked over at me.

"I'm taking you to my favorite spot in the whole city."  "Mind sharing the
location with me?"

"Nope it's a surprise...you'll just have to trust me."

He looked forward again and his expressions eased up. After 30 minutes of
driving, I reached the spot I wanted to show him.  I pulled over, got out
of the car, and began walking towards the river. I looked back to see if
Jake was behind me and he was. "Come here." I grabbed his hand and we
walked the rest of the way holding hands. When we reached the river's edge
I sat down.  Jake sat down next to me. I moved over, behind him, then
wrapped my arms around him and pulled him into my chest; we leaned back
against a large rock sticking out of the ground.

"See, I told you dreams come true."

He looked at me out of the corner of his eyes and smiled. We just sat here
for almost two hours doing nothing but watching the boats and ships go by
on the river. It started to get cold so I thought it be best if we left.

"Come on Jake, time to go; it's getting cold."

"Do we have to? I don't want this to end."

"I don't either, but we must; it's getting cold out here."

He got up turned around extended his hand to help me up. We made are way
back to the car and got in.

"What do you want to do now?" I asked.

"Whatever you want to Declan."

"How about going to central park?"

"Sounds good."

My phone began to ring.  I couldn't answer it so I asked Jake if he would
answer it for me.

"Hello?  Hold on.....  It's a Alex Andrewson...he says you should know who
he is."

"I do know him...it's my ex-boyfriend...tell him I'll call him back later."

"Did you catch that?...okay then goodbye."

"I'm so sorry about that Jake, I have no clue why he called."

"Don't worry about it."

It must have been important because we haven't talked for little over two
years now. I wonder what he wants. I'll call him later when I have a minute
alone. I glanced over at Jake and noticed he had a glow about him, I liked
it. We finally reached the park and got out of the car and walked into the
park. We wondered around the park for a little while before I couldn't
stand the cold anymore.  "Can we go back to my place?"

"I was hoping you would ask."

We went back to the car and drove back to my building. I made a quick stop
at the store and got something for dinner. 20 minutes later we are at my
apartment. Jake watched TV while I maked dinner for the both of us.  I
realized he hadn't called his sister all day, "You need to call Maggie and
let her know you are at my place."

"I'm a big boy she don't need to know."

"I promised her Jake...she almost killed me this morning for last
night...so please call her and tell her you are going to stay with me again
tonight."

"Okay, geez."

He got up and pulled his cell out to call Maggie while I continued cooking
dinner. He came back in sat at the dining table and watched me. I finish
about 10 minutes later and served up our plates. He dug right in.

"This is good...what is it?"  He asked.

"Chicken stir-fry...I'm glad you like it."

I looked at him because he had stopped eating. He was looking at me. I took
my free hand and laced my fingers in his. We finished dinner holding hands
from across the table. When we finished, I cleaned the kitchen then joined
him on the couch. He moved closer to me and laid his head on my chest. We
both fell asleep on the couch soon after. It was a little after 1 a.m. when
I felt the need to piss.  I tried to get up but I forgot Jake was asleep on
top of me. I shock him awake.

"Jake, I need to pee please let me up."

He let me up and lay back down on the couch. I went to relive myself then
came back and I woke Jake a second time.

"Come on, Sleeping Beauty, let's go to my nice big comfortable bed."

He agreed.  We got undressed and climbed into bed.  We moved close to one
another so he could spoon against my back and we quickly drifted off to
sleep.  I was awaken by the alarm going off at 5:00 a.m. Shit! I forgot it
was Sunday Yesterday.  I wish I didn't have to work now.  I wasn't going to
be able to spend time with Jake today. I rolled over and looked at Jake, he
was still sleeping so I got out of bed, carefully, so I didn't wake him and
got ready for work. Before I left, I wrote him a note. I tip-toed back into
the room and set it on my pillow then left for work. I got to work, went up
to the locker room and changed. I went back down stairs, got the keys and
list of today's clients. I only had 2 people today.  I wondered why I keep
losing more and more clients? I went to find my boss to ask her why.  "Hey
Kelly...how come I am only have two clients today?"

"I'm sorry to do this to you, Declan, but I have to let some people go and
I'm afraid that you're one of the first one's...I'm so sorry."

"Please, don't do this to me! I am the best driver you've got, I come in
early and everything!"

"I know, but I have no choice.  The economy and all is really hrting us big
time."

"I understand...can I ask you a favor?"

"Sure...let me work here until I am able to find a new job?"

"I can do that for you......again I am sorry...thanks for being calm with
me today...when the time comes and I need to hire people, you'll be my
first call."

"Is that all?"

"That's all Declan."

I left her office, went down to my car got in and left the garage and
started my day. I picked up and dropped off both my clients in four
hours. I went back to the garage and turned in my car keys, changed and
made my way home. I got home and found Jake still in my bed. I walked into
the room and climbed into bed next to him and lay down. When I did this he
woke up and looked at me.

"Hey gorgeous, I didn't mean to wake you," I said.

"Its okay...you got clothes on what happened?"

"I went to work silly...didn't you hear the alarm go off at five...I left
at 5:30 this morning."

"No, I didn't hear it, I must have been dead asleep...so how was your day?"

"I don't feel like talking about work right now."

"Okay...what time is it anyways?"

"Its almost 10 why, you got to be somewhere?"

"No, I don't but I am getting hungry...how about you?"

"Nope I'm good...I have a few take out menus."

"That sounds good, would you order me something I'll hop in the shower."

"Yeah, do you have anything in particular you might want?"

"Anything is good."

I kissed him before hopping off the bed and making my way to the kitchen to
order him some breakfast. Jake came out of the bathroom only wearing a
towel. He walked over to me, gave me a kiss, and went to the kitchen to got
something to drink. The food came 10 minutes later.  I paid for it, brought
it back into the kitchen, and served him on a plate.

"Here you go babe...I hope it's good?"

"Thanks."

He ate in silence as I watched him.  He was so cute the way he ate. When he
was finished I cleaned up his plate. When I came back, I noticed he still
had in the towel.  "When you going to get dressed?"

"I was going to ask you if I could borrow some clothes...we are about the
same size."

"Yeah, no problem go help yourself...pants and shirts are in the closet and
the socks and underwear are in the top drawer of the dresser."

He went got dressed then came back. I was sitting on the couch. He sat down
on the floor in front of me and lay back between my legs. After a while, I

for some air. He went back to lying down on top of me "I have to tell you

"Okay, what is it?"

"I'm going to be let go from my current job soon."

"What? how come? Can I do something to help?"

"They have to make cut backs in personnel. Thanks for the offer but I think
I need to handle this on my own."

"Well, I'll be here if you need me Declan don't be afraid to ask."

"Thanks, at least I can keep working until I'm able to find a new job."

"That's cool that they are keeping you on like that...you sure I cant help?
I might be able to pull some strings and find you a great job."

"Give me a week to try on my own, then you can ask for favors for me."

"I can wait a week."

"Thanks."

We went back to cuddling on the couch as we watched the food network
channel. After the show was over I looked down to see Jake looking up at
me. I know I am falling for him hard and fast. I wonder if he feels the
same way.  "Jake did you tell Maggie you're staying the night with me
again?"

"Yeah I did...why, do you not want me to stay the night?"

"No, its fine, you can stay as long you want... I guess what I am wondering
is when you plan on telling her and the rest of your family about you and
me?"

"I'm not really sure, I was thinking tomorrow but I don't know...I hope
that's not too soon?"

"No, I don't think it's too soon."

"Will you come with me when I do go tell them about us?"

"Yeah, I can come with you...I'll call in sick tomorrow."

"Hey, you ready for bed yet?"

"Yeah I am...are you?"

"Yeah."

He got up off me but I grabbed his wrist and pulled him back down and
started kissing him. My phone started ringing in the middle of our making
out. I broke the kiss to find out who was calling me so late. It was
Alex. I answered the phone.  "Hello Alex."

"Hello Declan."

"Do you know what time it is?"

"Shit sorry I didn't wake you did I?"

"No, I was awake."

"I'm going to be visiting family I was hoping we could see one another?"

"Call when you get into the city."

"Ok I'll call you then...bye Declan."

"Bye Alex."  Then turning my attention back to Jake I said, "Lets pick up
where we left off shall we?"

"Sounds good to me."

We made out for several minutes before we had to get some air.

"I want to move to the bedroom Declan...how about you?"

"Yeah let's do that."

We got up from the couch and went to the bedroom. I turned around and
started to take off his shirt. Then I got on my knees, undid his pants and
slid them, along with my boxers he had worn, down his legs to the floor
where he stepped out of them. I stood up and he took off my shirt, then my
pants and underwear. We moved to the bed where I pushed him down and lay on
top of him.  I began kissing him all over his body. He stopped me, "I'm
ready for you to be inside me this time Declan."

"Are you sure you're ready?"

"I'm sure."

We moved to closer to the top of the bed. He lay on his back ready for me
to fill him. I reached over and got the lube and a condom. I lubed Jake up,
