	MEANWHILE; Down The Street:
	Oliver Queen's canary-yellow Lamborghini sped down Oxford and
1st..., coming to a screeched skid as HE [Arsenal (in full costume)] and
Robin jumped out of the car and into the fray with Cyborg and Thunder...!


"There..." yelled Robin, pointing at the 2 muscled men fighting...!
"...THAT'S the metal guy we met in the park...!" he recalled, as Cyborg was
sucker punched across the street and into the side of a bus!


"Yeah..., and HE seems to be losing..." informed Arsenal, wiping out his
bow and arrow...! "...are you SURE you want him on your new team...?" he
asked, before letting loose his arrow..., watching it SOAR down the street
until it HIT Thunder in the back...! It exploded on impact, blowing the
muscled man forward [a few inches]..., before Thunder turned around to see
WHO attacked him...?
	"uh..., got any ideas...?" asked Ollie [sensing danger]..., as
Thunder SLAPPED his huge heavy hands together..., causing an amazing energy
shockwave which tore up streets; flipped parked cars; shattered
storefronts; and wrecked through a city block like nothing as Robin and
Arsenal leaped out of the way...[unfortunately Ollie's CAR wasn't so lucky
(as it was tossed into the air and slammed to the ground like a
Tonka-Tykes)...]!


"This is getting us nowhere...!" said Static, speeding in on his trashcan
lid, using his telekinesis to send a horde of debris in Thunder's
direction...!
	Thunder punched his way through flying concrete; cars; trucks; lamp
posts; vending carts; bicycles; [you name it]! Nothing seemed to faze him
until a really large PURPLE ELEPHANT suddenly slammed into him from behind
[knocking Thunder off his feet]!


"whatthefuck...??!" responded Static [dumbfounded]...! "Are YOU seeing what
I'm seeing...?" he asked! "TELL ME you see a big purple elephant...!"


"We SEE it..." said Robin [running by]...! "...but we don't believe it...!"
	Thunder swung around backwards [at the elephant], but it was no
longer there [having disappeared into thin air]! Robin however intervened,
somersaulting over Thunder's head..., hitting him with a handful of
smoke-pellets and sleeping gas [hoping it might knock him out]! Just THEN
Cyborg came running up the street with his fist poised back to clobber...,
swinging HARD as it slammed into Thunder's jaw like an atomic-punch!
	!!WRACK!! sounded the hit, as Thunder's bulky body went flying own
the street and into a brick wall..., causing half the building to come
tumbling down on top of him!


"THAT oughta put `em to sleep!" glee Static, before soaring skyward to help
Omen [who was busy detaining Lightning and evading his lightning
blasts]...!


("Joshua..., I'm HURT...!") said Thunder, calling to his brother
[telepathically]!
	Lightning stopped chasing Omen immediately...


"I'm coming, brother...!" he shouted aloud, riding a speeding lightning
bolt as he joined his brother on the ground!
	Thunder was lying in the rubble, barely able to move after that
sucker-punch!


"DAMN YOUS...!" yelled Lightning, turning towards the street [as Robin,
Arsenal, Cyborg, Static, and Omen all moved in for the kill]..., unleashing
an array of lightning bolts at once..., sending electricity flying in every
direction, uncaring who it hit or killed!


"We've got to put a STOP to this...!" yelled Robin [jumping out of the
flooding streets (as anyone standing in the water could be
electrocuted)...]!


"I'M open to suggestions...!" said Arsenal [leaping into the back of a
damaged car]!
	Just then [from out of nowhere] came a DARK SHADOW in the shape of
a large bird! Lightning SAW it descending down on him and his brother, as
he aimed his lightning bolts up at it..., but the bolts didn't seem to faze
it as the shadow in-cased them...!


"Aaaahhhhhhhhhhh...!!!" screamed Josh..., as lightning emitted from within
the SHADOW...! A moment later it pulled away, leaving both Thunder AND
Lightning lying stunned in the rubble!
	Robin watched as The Bird Shadow returned to its owner: RAVEN...,
who joined the fight at just the right moment...!


"WHAT did you DO to them...?" he asked [sloshing his way through the
flooded streets]...!


"I alleviated some of their PAIN by using my Soul-Self as a
conductor...!...which is the personification of all of my powers rolled
into one!" explained Raven [dressed in ripped jeans, boots, and a trench
coat]...!
	"I'm afraid they're not totally responsible for what happened
here..." he continued [as Ollie and the others gathered around to
listen]...! "...it seems someone tormented them..., causing them great pain
and distress...! They were only lashing out in response!"


"How do you KNOW all this...?" asked Static [hovering above the ground on
his lid]!


"I'm an empath..." informed Raven, "...I can `sense' they anguish...!"


"So they're NOT dangerous...?" asked Oliver [looking back at the rubble to
make sure they were still there]...!


"I didn't say THAT..." corrected Raven, "...there IS a level of hostility
in them that is innate inside them..., I'm just saying they weren't
responsible for all this carnage...! Someone else bred it IN them!"


"Don't TRUST him..." said Omen, flying down from the brightening skies [as
the rain stopped around them]...! "...I sense EVIL within him...! Great
evil! I sensed it THAT night too, in Central Park..., but I thought it was
because of The Gargoyles...! But its HIM! HE'S dangerous!"


"I'LL second that motion!" agreed Ollie [having his own issues with Raven]
(chap-3)!


"He's right..." agreed Raven, "...but the `evil' you sense inside me isn't
from ME..., its my father: TRIGON! His influence GROWS inside me like a
cancer!
	"I...I fear one day I won't be able to reject him!"


"We ALL keep meeting for a reason..." said Robin, surrounded by 5 other
super-powers...! "...it CAN'T be a coincidence! Maybe WE were all meant to
work together...? As TEAM!"


"OR maybe we all just live in the same vicinity...?" reasoned Cyborg
[holding his purple dog]...!


"Hey..." said Static, floating closer beside him...! "...did you see a big
purple elephant around here anywheres...?" he asked, concerned!
	Vic looked at him strangely!


"Look, I know we all don't know each other from a pile of shit on the
ground..., but we ALL seem to be fighting on the same side, for the most
part..." argued Robin! "...there's just no reason why we couldn't DO IT as
a team...!
	"Isn't that how some of the best superhero teams got started...?"


"I'm down!" said Vic [patting his panting dog gently on the head]!


"Me too..." agreed Static! "...so long as it doesn't interfere with
school..., or my homework..., or my house chores...!"


"Arsenal...?" questioned Robin [hoping his friend would join]!


"Yeah..., I'm in!" agreed Oliver [wanting to keep an EYE on Raven]!


"You KNOW I'm with you, Robin...!" said Omen, standing behind his man!


"Raven...?" asked Robin, holding out his hand...!


"If my father was to ever break loose from his demon dimension..., all hell
would follow...!" he warned...!


"We've fought his influence before, and WON...!" reminded Robin! "We can do
it again!" he insisted!
	Raven hesitated..., but realized in order to fight his father he
NEEDED friends...! He walked over and grasped Robin's gloved hand, sealing
the bond that now formed them!


"We still need a name!" said Static [as police started to roll in to
collect the prisoners]...!
	"How about: The Super Friends...?"


"What'r we, a Saturday Morning cartoon...?" asked Vic, unimpressed!


"How bout Young Justice...?" countered Static [trying again]!


"I like that one better...!" said Robin!


"Teen Titans!" said an unknown voice [out of nowhere]...!


"Who said that...?" asked Ollie, looking around at the crowds [in the
background]...!


"I...think the DOG did...!" said Static, looking at the pooch oddly!


"You're crazy..." responded Victor, "...,my DOG can't talk...!" he said,
carrying the mutt [as they headed towards the police vehicles]...!


"How do you KNOW it's a dog...?" asked Static [riding shotgun]! "...I
mean..., there's a big purple ELEPHANT around here somewhere, and nobody's
seemed to see him but me!"


"I saw him too...!" said Robin!


"So where did it go...?" asked Omen!


"THAT'S what I'm trying to figure out!" shouted Static!
