Ok as well before we start this is based on the series Star Trek Voyager
but with a twist from the original story line and i hope you like it.

Chapter 19: Time to change Q

"Echeb to Lieutenant Carter." Said Echeb over the comm. "Go ahead Echeb." I
replied. "I was wondering when would be an appropriate time for us to
continue my lessons on Warp Field Theory?" he asked. "Well I'm a little
busy right now, if you would like I'm free this evening. Come to my
quarters at 19:30" I told him. "Very well lieutenant I shall see you then."
He said and ended the comm. channel. I turned and walked over to a console
in engineering began working the controls. I had spent the last few hours
recalibrating the primary ODN relays, whilst the computer ran a diagnostic
for me on the impulse response filters. "Sir" Said a voice behind me. I
turned to see Marla Gilmore, a survivor from the equinox, holding a
pad. "Yes crewman." I said looking down at her. I had a very dim view of
anyone who was on board the equinox because of what they did, turning their
backs on anything to do with Starfleet policy. She handed me the pad and I
started to read through it. She turned to leave when I said "Crewman I
expected this report 2 days ago." She turned back. "I'm sure you said today
sir." She said to me. "Are you calling me a liar crewman?" I asked. "No
sir." She said standing at attention. "It sounds like it. Now I said I
wanted this report two days and you have given it to me late, the captain
has been waiting for this for the last two days and I am responsible for
this. Now I suggest you don't argue with me again and get back to work!" I
bellowed at her causing everyone in engineering to look at me. "Sir, you
clearly said...." was all she said before I started to really get
annoyed. "CREWMAN I SAID I DIDN'T WANT TO BE ARGUED WITH, SO UNLESS YOU
WANT TO SPEND SOME TIME INSIDE THE BRIG I SUGGEST YOU GO BACK TO WORK!!!" I
screamed. She turned and walked away. These hormones were really starting
to get to me. The size of my stomach was getting on my nerves, the constant
pain I felt, the need to always eat or go to the toilet. I just want this
pregnancy over. It was really starting to get on my nerves. Tom on the
other hand loved it. He was always looking after me and giving me some
attention to ease the symptoms. Luckily my morning sickness had stopped
otherwise I would be really pissed off. I looked around to see everyone
still staring at me for shouting at Gilmore. "Alright everyone back to
work." I said and everyone went back to work. "Maybe you need something to
eat babes, you haven't eaten for a while." Said Tom coming over to
me. "You're right I haven't eaten since this morning." I said smiling at
him. "The captain told you to take regular breaks, and Neelix has tripled
your replicator rations for this pregnancy. Go, and I will finish off for
you." He said taking the pad I had left on the console. "What would I do
without you?" I said kissing him. "God only knows." He said kissing me
back.

"One cheese burger and chips, with two slices of ham and mushroom pizza all
hot with a cup of black coffee." I said to the replicator. "Hungry are we?"
a male voice said that I didn't recognise. I turned around to see Q. "Q" I
said. "Mr Carter, may we talk?" he said. "Carter to Captain Janeway." I
said. "Go ahead" she said. "Are you aware Q is on board captain?" I
said. "Which one senior or junior?" she asked. "Senior why?" I
asked. "Because I also have his son roaming around the ship somewhere. What
does he want?" She said. "To talk." I said. "Then go ahead, I don't see
anything wrong with that." She said and ended the comm. "Alright Q, we can
talk" I said moving over to a table. I sat and took a few bites out of the
pizza. "So what do you want?" I asked. "It's about my son. I need your
help. He needs someone like you to talk to him." He told me. "Why me?" I
asked. "Cause I think he will respond to you." He told me. I continued to
eat and then I said "Look Q it's not up to me to help your son, if you want
to speak with someone, then speak with the captain." I said. At that he
vanished. I continued to eat and finished up feeling nice and full. But I
still had a gap in my stomach I wanted something sweet even after all
that. I had the biggest craving for anything chocolate. I went back to the
replicator with my plate and recycled it before saying "One large slice on
chocolate fudge cake, warm with chocolate ice cream and fudge sauce." The
lights spun and soon a bowl appeared. I went back over and ate away. When I
was done Neelix came over smiling and said "Full?" I looked at him and said
"Yeah why?" He removed a plate from behind his back and there was a plate
of chocolate chip cookies. "Just baked. Have one." Said Neelix. I took one
and bit into it, they were still warm. "Thanks Neelix." I said walking
out. I went back to engineering and continued to work. Having only been
back for a few minutes the entire place changed. Random people appeared,
many of them women, very scantily dressed. The warp core was also swirling
different coloured lights and music was playing very loudly. Luckily I was
stood with B'Elanna and we checked over the warp core. If this light show
didn't stop the core was going to breach. Just then another young man came
over who I knew was Q's son. "Just one dance, Jack that's all I ask, one
dance." He whispered in my ear. I saw the captain come in and I looked over
when I felt one of the women dancers grope my ass. Then another. That did
it. I went over to a console and pulled out a phaser as B'Elanna went over
to the captain. I took the phaser and fired it. Some people moved but they
still continued to dance. I put the phaser on full power and fired it at a
console which sparked. People then moved and suddenly I found myself
outside engineering stood with the captain, Chakotay, Tuvok and
B'Elanna. "I could assemble a security team and attempt to take engineering
by force." Said Tuvok. "We all know that wouldn't do any good." Said
Chakotay. "Besides I bet that's exactly the type of reaction he's hoping
for." I said. "He's doing everything he can to get under our skin." Said
Janeway. "If we deny him the satisfaction of a response, he may become
bored and return to the continuum" said Tuvok. Lets bloody well hope so.

As I sat on the bridge I was looking through some systems analysis, I saw
the captain come back onto the bridge. "Can you believe that boy?" she said
to me waving her hands in the air. "What is it?" I asked. "Q has given the
computer a personality. I went to the mess hall and asked for coffee and
the computer told me and I quote `Make it yourself'." She told me causing
me to chuckle. "Don't laugh Jack that kid is really starting to get on my
nerves." She said. "Sickbay to Captain Janeway" said the doctor over the
comm. "Go ahead doctor." She said looking at me "Could you come down here."
He said. "On my way" she said rubbing her temples. She turned and left the
bridge and I continued to work. A few minutes later whilst I was working I
felt the ship shudder and Q's son appear in the captain's chair. The ship
went to red alert as Tuvok announced "3 Borg cubes have just appeared
directly behind us." The cubes fired and we were hit. "Janeway to bridge
report." Said the captain over the comm. "I've got a surprise for you
captain, come see" said Q. The Borg fired twice more hitting the
ship. There was no way we could win against 3 cubes. When the captain
arrived on the bridge and stepped off the turbolift she stared in horror at
the viewscreen. "Q said I should pay attention to how you humans act under
pressure. Is this enough pressure?" said the younger Q. The Borg fired
again and I reported "We're venting plasma." "Re-route power to aft shields
and return fire." Said Janeway. "You're only prolonging the inevitable."
Said Q. "We've defeated the Borg before we'll do it again." Said
Janeway. "Not this time." Said Q with a bloody smug look on his face that
made me want to slap him. The Borg fired again. "Weapons are offline" said
Tuvok. "I'm losing thrusters." Said Paris. "Shields are down" I said. At
that moment 3 Borg drones beamed onto the bridge. I grabbed the phaser
attached to the console and was about to fire, but Tuvok had beaten me to
the punch. Then one drone grabbed Janeway around the neck. I ran over (as
best I could being pregnant and all) and tried to break the captain free
but the drone pushed me to the floor. Suddenly the whole bridge changed and
I was being helped up from the floor. "We were just getting to the good
part" said Q junior. "If the continuum has told you once, they've told a
thousand times. DON'T PROVOKE THE BORG! Now I want you to give aunt Kathy
your word you won't do it again and I want you to apologise to Jack for
almost hurting his baby." Said Q. "Oh he won't have to apologise because
I'm going to break him in two." I said charging for Q. Luckily the captain
held me back. "Oh he won't do it again, because he's leaving now!" barked
Janeway. "Excuse us son, the grownups need a moment in private" said Q
senior and the three of us vanished and appeared in the ready room. "He
isn't so bad once you get to know him, he's just misunderstood." Said Q to
us. "He tried to kill my crew." Said Janeway. "No-one was hurt, I repaired
the damage to your ship, I even gave your pet Talaxian his vocal cords back
everything is as it should be." Said Q. "And how long do you think it will
take your son to come up with another way to amuse himself?" I said still
feeling a little sore from being thrown to the ground. Bloody Borg. Bloody
Q. Bloody Baby. Q frowned and moved over the windows. "If you knew he was
dangerous why did you send him here?" I continued to say following Q
over. "Ah is this another lesson for humanity." I said coming to a
realisation. "It was supposed to be a lesson for him." Said Q. He turned to
Janeway. "Think back to my last visit I made you the offer of a life time."
He said to her. "Asking me to mate with you was hardly the offer of a
lifetime." Said Janeway. "If you hadn't turned me down I wouldn't have been
forced to mate with that other Q" he told her. I waved my hands in the
air. "Oh just get to the bloody point Q, some of us are carrying babies
here that seem to like to press against my bladder." I almost screamed at
him. "My point is junior was supposed to inspire peace and compassion. But
instead of order he's brought chaos. He's been starting wars among innocent
species, tampering with primordial gene pools, punching holes in the fabric
of space time" he told us. Thank god I was having a normal baby. "Where's
his mother been during all this?" asked Janeway. "She's been so humiliated
by his antics, she's disowned him and blamed me for everything. I've
managed to undo most of the damage, but that wasn't good enough for the
continuum they're hounding me to straighten the boy out. That's why I
brought him to you, in the hopes that your vaunted Starfleet ideals would
rub off on him. Obviously that hasn't happened."  Q told us. "You can't
just dump your child on someone and expect him to learn something." I
said. "Oh Lieutenant do be quiet. And why can't I?" he asked. "He needs to
be parented. When Jack has his baby do you think he's going to dump him
with someone and hope that the baby is looked after No. And don't tell my
officers to shut up." Said Janeway. "And how exactly am I meant to parent
him, Q is the first child born in the continuum which makes me the first
parent. I don't even know where to begin." Q told us. "You could start by
spending time with him." I told him. "Urghhh." Said Q. "Parenthood is more
than just cleaning up your child's messes. You have to set an example. It's
the only way he'll learn." I said. "You're right, once he gets to know me
better he'll idealise me, Jacky you're a genius." He said and then kissed
me before vanishing. I stood dumbfounded by the kiss and Janeway began to
smile "Don't say anything." I said. "All I was going to say was you will
make one hell of a father to this baby. And nice speed work with Q" she
said before we left the ready room. As we walked back onto the bridge I
heard Paris say "I've completed a full sensor sweep, there's no sign of any
Borg vessels." I stopped by the captain. "The boy?" she asked. "He's gone."
Said Chakotay. Thank god. "Jack come on, we need to de-stress and I have
the perfect solution." Said Janeway taking me by the arm and leading me off
the bridge.

10 Minutes later I found myself on holodeck 1 with the captain at a spa on
earth. We were both relaxing in a hot tub and I just let myself go. All the
cares in the world just disappeared, that was until we were
interrupted. The water next to me moved and I found Q in the hot tub with
us. "I take it back you're not a genius. I should have known not to take
the advice of a human" he said to me. "Q!" I barked. "You're brilliant plan
didn't work, I smothered the boy with attention spent every waking moment
with him, but things only got worse." He told me. "You've been gone for
less than 10 minutes." I said. "On your temporal plane maybe, but in Q time
we have spent years together. Now he's embarrassed to me seen with me. And
it's all your fault." He said to me. "My fault?!" I exclaimed. "Tell me how
you plan to rectify the situation." He said to me. "What happened after you
left Voyager?" I asked sinking into the warm, bubbly water. "Well Q got
away from me and rearranged the tectonic plates on Bozal prime." He
explained. "Did you punish him?" I asked. "Well I tried to get him to
apologise to all 16 billion Bozelians But he got angry and stopped talking
to me." He went on to say. "So you give in to him?" asked Janeway. "I told
him that he could shift as many continents as he liked as long as no-one
got hurt." He told us. "You're not going to do your son any favours by
encouraging him. You need to make him understand that there are
consequences to his actions." I told him. "Consequences? Hmmm, Jacky I take
it back you are a genius." He said to me and tried to kiss me again but I
put hand up between us and instead he kissed that and then disappeared.

20 minutes later the captain and I were both dressed and in sickbay with Q
who was holding a green dish. "I think that's long enough." Said Q and with
the snap of his fingers his son appeared in sickbay looking somewhat
puzzled and confused. "What was that for?" asked Junior. "What's wrong you
didn't enjoy life as an aperlian amoeba?" asked Q Senior. "No I was
shapeless and slimy. The only thing to eat was paramecia." Replied Junior
spitting on the floor. "Sounds unpleasant, I'm sure you will do whatever it
takes to avoid returning to the Petri dish." Said Senior Q. "What are you
talking about?" asked Q Junior. "The continuum and I have come to an
agreement about your future. Either you become an upstanding citizen of the
cosmos or you'll be sentenced to eternity as an amoeba. How's that for
consequences?" Said Senior Q. "You'd turn your own son in to a micro-scopic
life form?" asked Junior. "You have one week to change your ways I suggest
you make the most of it." Said senior. "Fine I will see you in seven days."
Said junior snapping his fingers. However unlike before nothing happened
causing Q Senior to laugh. "We've temporarily relieved you of your powers,
to ensure you're on your best behaviour for the captain and the
lieutenant." He said causing me to look up. "Your leaving me here?" said Q
Junior. "I thought we agreed that you would take a more active role." I
said. "I'd like to Jacky, but we both know you and Kathy are a million
times the parent that I am." He said to me causing the captain to look very
pissed off. "I'm not a parent yet and the captain isn't one at all." I
said. "He's right I'm not a parent." Said Janeway. "Well maybe not in a
biological sense but you've certainly been a mommy to this crew. Just look
at how quick you house broke that Borg drone." Said Q Senior. "It had taken
years...." I screamed before looking over my shoulder to see Q Junior
listening in. At a look from us all he moved back and I lowered my
voice. "For Seven to become an individual. You're asking us to change your
son in one week." I said to him. "I'm sure you will think of something."
Said Q senior. "What if they don't?" asked Junior. "Then it single cellular
city for you my boy." Said Senior Q before tossing the Petri dish at his
son and disappearing. "I'm getting off this ship." Said Junior throwing the
dish to the floor and stamping on it. He marched out of sickbay like a
spoiled child. I looked at Janeway who said "Hey, you're the father to be,
think of this as practise." She said. "Carter to security." I said tapping
my commbadge. A few minutes later I was walking down the corridor with the
captain with Q in tow being held by two security guards. "What you no
longer have Q is unlimited control of space, matter and time which means I
give the orders where you are concerned do I make myself clear?" I said. We
arrived outside some quarters and entered the access code. "You're
quarters." I said and he entered. "The Petri dish was less cramped." He
said. "Get some sleep you're going to need it." I said. "What for?" he
asked. "The captain and I are preparing a curriculum for you to follow
while you're here." I said moving over and removing the pips from his
collar. "You're going to learn respect and responsibility." I said. "Don't
tell me you're actually going through with Q's plan?" he asked. "I may not
approve of his methods but for once his heart seems to be in the right
place. I think his desire to help you is genuine." I said. "He abandoned me
on an antiquated flying machine run by primates." He said. "We primates are
your only hope." I said. "7 days how hard could it be?" he said. And from
here a whole world of events began to unfold.

After spending the rest of the day with the captain and Tuvok together we
had come up with a seven day curriculum and briefed the senior staff and
enlisted their help. Finally at 19:30 I got to my quarters. I was
exhausted. As I entered the quarters I found Echeb and Tom sat
chatting. "Oh god Echeb I completely forgot." I said. "Don't worry, Ensign
Walker was filling me in on your hard day. It wasn't much I wanted to ask
you about, if you could spare 15 minutes." He said. "Fine" I said. I sat on
the sofa and put my feet up. "Coffee black." I said out loud and the
replicator made it for me. Tom went over and grabbed it and handed it to
me. After taking a few sips and feeling energised I said "Now what did you
want to ask me about?" He looked at me. "It has to do with NX Class
starships. I was reading through an old exam paper and came across a
question. Here." He said handing me a pad. I read it through and
smiled. The question was asking to describe the events of the warp field
contact that occurred aboard the old NX class vessels and the workings of
Commander Tucker. "What do you want to know?" I asked. "Well everything, I
can't find any information on it and I thought you might know." He said. I
smiled. I knew, I knew very well. "Well you came to the right person I
wrote my final year dissertation on this very subject. In the mid 2150's
the first warp five ship, which was called Enterprise NX 01, had an
encounter with a Klingon ship that had Klingon augments on board. Now I
assume you know what augments are?" I asked Echeb. He nodded and I
continued. "They boarded the ship and planted a computer virus which
infiltrated the command protocols of the warp matrix which meant that the
anti matter flow regulator had been locked open which caused a malfunction
in the intermix chamber causing plasma pressure to rise." I said. "Why
didn't they simply drop out of warp and repair it." Echeb asked. "Yeah
actually why didn't they?" Tom also asked. I smiled. "Have you ever looked
at the early warp 5 reactors? They're not like today's." I said. "If they
dropped out of warp then the reactor would breach. And if that happened
today the core would definitely breach. But we could avoid that by ejecting
the core. They couldn't eject the reactor." I told them. "So what did they
do?" asked Tom. "Well to decrease pressure they went to their maximum warp
and slowly Commander T'Pol the ships first officer worked with Commander
Kelby to trace the problem. However when they did find the subroutine they
didn't know the full problem and to make matters worse the pressure began
to build up again. Their only option was to go to Warp 5.2. Now you have to
release when Henry Archer designed that engine it was designed for a top
cruising speed of Warp 5 but at a push they could go as fast as Warp 5.4
but not for long. As the minutes passed they released that there was no way
to get rid of the Klingon subroutine apart from decrypting it and get rid
of them. And they had limited time. With only 47 minutes I believe it was,
until their reactor breached Captain Archer contacted the newly launched NX
02 Columbia and agreed to meet up. Commander Tucker who was now serving as
chief engineer on Columbia spoke with Captain Archer and he was convinced
that he could remove the virus. But he couldn't do that from Columbia." I
told them. I felt like a teacher at school telling a story. I took a sip of
coffee and Tom said "So what did they do beam him over?" "No, the
transporters of that time wouldn't work at warp and docking was out of the
question. Luckily Lieutenant Malcolm Reed, Enterprise's tactical officer
had experience transferring personnel at Warp." I said. "Yeah but how?"
asked Tom. I looked at him and said "Will you shut up and get me some
chocolate, I'm trying to teach Echeb not you." I smiled at him and he
smiled back. "I know but I'm excited." He said handing me a big bar of
chocolate. "In order to transfer personnel at warp the two ships would have
to merge warp fields. Columbia would have to spin upside and merge their
warp field with Enterprises. At Warp 5 the ships had to be within 50 metres
of each other. So Lieutenant Reed rigged a tether in their launch bay which
would fire a line into Columbia's launch bay. When Columbia arrived they
turned upside down and moved under enterprise. They then had to fly like
this and merge warp fields, hence the warp field contact which as you know
is a dangerous thing to do above Warp 3. When they had merged Mr Reed fired
the line and Commander Tucker began to climb up the line into enterprise."
I said. "You mean he was outside the ship whilst at Warp." Asked
Echeb. "Yes, he must have a good stomach, and slowly he climbed the line
and into Enterprises' launch bay. When he was safely on board he knew that
the quickest way to get rid of the virus was to purge it by doing a cold
start. Which meant shutting down the reactor and resetting the algorithms."
I said. I stopped when I saw both Tom and Echeb have a confused look on
their faces. "But if they shut down the reactor then the ship would be
destroyed." Said Tom. "This is why they needed Enterprise to move inside
Columbia's warp field. They could sustain Enterprises speed while Commander
Tucker re-initialised the reactor. But they could only hold them for a
minute or two." I said. "Why?" asked Echeb. "They didn't have enough
power." I said. "So when Captain Archer managed to convince Captain
Hernandez to risk her ship and crew the plan went into motion. When
Commander Tucker got to the engine room, the intermix pressure was 1527 and
the field variance was 87 milocochranes. What he was going to do from there
was perform a manual shut down and re start in less than two minutes and
this was in the 22nd century. Even today you can't do that but he did
it. Columbia extended her warp field around Enterprise and Commander Tucker
went to work. Crouching on top of the reactor he shut down the warp reactor
and issued orders. According to the logs of several crewmembers on board
Enterprise he cut it very fine before bringing the Reactor back online, but
it worked and the virus was gone." I said. "Wow, that must have been
scary." Said Tom. "Probably." I said. "Well if that ever happens to us we
know who to talk to." Said Tom. "Only one problem there's not another
intrepid class starship to work with" I said. "Good point." Said Tom. "So
Echeb does that answer your questions?" I asked. "Yes in great detail thank
you Lieutenant." He said. He rose and I said "No problem and any other time
I can help let me know." "I will thank you. Good night." He said before
leaving. "Okay I need food." I said to Tom and away we went.  When I awoke
the next morning I found Tom stood over me with a tray of breakfast. I
stretched out and he gave me a cute smile. "Good morning." I said. "Good
morning my wonderful husband." He said giving me a kiss. I sat up in bed
and he placed the tray over my lap. "What's all this in aid of?" I asked as
I bit into the sausage sandwich he made me. He sat next to me and I noticed
he was already dressed and ready. "I just thought you needed a lie in and
some personal attention. And also this came through for you late last
night. It's from the captain." He said handing me a pad. I read through it
and he had every reason to be nice to me. The captain had assigned the
classes to the senior officers and also included me and I had the luxury if
it can be called that to be the one to wake up and start the first day of
learning with Q. "Computer time?" I said. "The time is 06:00." The computer
replied. I finished off my breakfast and drank the last of my orange juice
before getting out of bed and heading into the bathroom for a shower. After
finishing my shower and dressing with the help of Tom I grabbed a few pads
and together we walked out the door. Q's quarters were on deck 9. But I had
to go to engineering to get his timetable first. Tom and I rode the
turbolift to engineering and walked in hand in hand. "Have a good day
babes, I hope he doesn't annoy you too much." Tom said to me before kissing
me and going off to work. I went over to my console and called up Q's
timetable and then copied it to a pad for him. After having everything I
had I rode the turbolift up to deck 9 and found myself outside his
quarters. I hit the door chime twice to announce my presence but there was
no answer. "Computer open this door, authorization carter alpha 731 lamda
4" I spoke aloud before the door opened. I stepped in to find the room in
total darkness and the sound of his sleeping. "Computer lights, maximum
illumination." I said and suddenly the lights came on and yet he Q didn't
move. I went over to the replicator and said "Water cold." I said. When the
glass appeared I went over to Q and threw it on him and he immediately woke
up. "What the hell..." he said rubbing the water from his face. "Good
morning. It's time to get up." I said. "What now?" he said collapsing back
on the pillow. "Now." I barked. "Fine" he said and got out of bed. The
first thing I noticed was that he was stark naked and his cock was still
semi hard and looking very big. "Do you mind covering up and getting a
shower. I will sort this place out." I said. I made his bed and had his
uniform cleaned. He came back out of the bathroom and wrapped in a towel
which he quickly dropped and got dressed. I know I shouldn't perve but even
soft his cock still looked big and he didn't seem to mind me look. I did
his hair and we sat at his table and he slouched. "Right, let me formally
introduce myself I'm Lieutenant Carter and I'm going to be the one
responsible for you while your with us. Let me make some things clear to
you before we start I don't take no crap off anyone and you my friend are
no exception. Second I'm pregnant unless u weren't aware and that means I
get annoyed and stressed very easily so beware." I said. "Oh I know you're
pregnant I even saw the moment it happened." He said. I didn't quite know
how to take that. "Right well here is your timetable." I said handing him
his pad. "Every morning at 07:00 I will be here. You better be up, have
this place tidy and ready for an inspection and be ready to hit the gym
with Commander Tuvok." I said. "They gym? At 7am" he asked. "Yes and if you
have a problem with that I don't want to hear about it." I told him
forcefully. "Right your day starts today with a review of on board safety
procedures." I said. He rolled his eyes. "Don't start I'm trying to do this

asked. "No" he said. "Then shut up and pay attention because there will be
a test at the end." I told him. He sat up when I handed him a pad and
together we started to go through on board safety protocols.

At 19:00 Tom and I finished our duty shifts and went up to the mess hall
and saw Q helping Neelix. This was part of his service seen as what he did
to Neelix. As we sat and ate I watched him closely. "Will you stop watching
him and just enjoy your meal?" said Tom. "Sorry I can't help it." I
said. "You know our baby is going to have a good father with you." He said
smiling. I smiled and leaned over and kissed him when Neelix came over and
sat with us. "How's he doing?" I asked. "Still the most annoying being I
have come across and I have come across a lot of people." He said. I
laughed and we continued to chat when I noticed he was chatting with
Echeb. "Maybe Echeb can help him somewhat as well." I said. Tom looked over
and said "Yeah, but by the looks of it that boys needs a seriously large
cock thrust up his backside to bring him down a peg or two." I laughed and
said "Well he's not too bad in the size department" I said. Tom looked at
me and said "Oh and how would you know this?" he asked. "When I woke him
this morning he got out of bed stark naked with a semi." I
replied. "Really, well don't forget your married." He said. I laughed. "How
could I, I'm carrying your baby." I told him. A couple of hours later Tom
and I were in our quarters when the door chimed. "Come in." He said. I was
sat reading the reports that the instructors of Q had given me. So far it
wasn't good. Q walked in and said "Here" Shoving a pad on my desk and
turning to leave. "I take it this is your essay." I said. "Yes." He
said. "Thank you, dismissed." I said and he left. As I read the essay I
frowned and then put my head in my hands. "What?" asked Tom. "He didn't
write this, Echeb did." I said. "I'm going to the captain." I said. I
grabbed all the pads and headed to the ready room. When I got there I
explained everything to the captain and she read the essay. "Janeway to Q
report to my ready room." She said. Moments later he arrived and he came in
as I was sat on the sofa beneath the window. "I got your essay. It's
insightful, informative. Too bad you didn't write it." She said. "What do
you mean?" he asked. "I'd recognise Echeb's style anywhere." She told
him. "He gave me a few notes on my first draft that's all." He said and the
captain both remained silent. "I negotiated a peace treaty between 6
belligerent species in just 13 minutes." He told us. "When commander
Chakotay left the room you altered their personality subroutines to make
them more agreeable. We may be common bipeds but we're not stupid." I
said. "You're training is over go back to your room and wait for your
father." I added. "If you don't help me the continuum will turn me into an
amoeba." He said looking at both of us. "We wanted to help you, but instead
of trying to live up to your potential you cheated." I said. "Do you think
it's easy to live up to my potential? I was supposed to be the saviour of
the Q Continuum. Tell me how you save a race that's already omnipotent?" he
asked. "Those were the Q's expectations not ours. I told you this morning I
don't any crap from anyone. All we asked was that you make some effort but
you weren't even willing to try. You couldn't even make it a day." I
said. "Please Jack, Aunt Kathy you two are my only hope." He said sounding
worried. "Oh I'm glad you finally realise that, now if your motives are
sincere then I'm willing to give you another shot, but step out of line
again and we're through with you, understood?" asked Janeway. "Understood."
He said nodding. "Dismissed." I barked. He left and Janeway and I looked at
each other and smiled.

As I climbed into bed that night I looked down at my stomach and saw all
the stretch marks and the huge stomach I was carrying around with me. "Oh
god I'm so tired, between Q and carrying this baby around all I want to do
is sleep." I said. As tom climbed into bed with me he placed his hand in my
stomach "You only have 3 months left, to go and then our precious little
boy will be with us." He said. "I tell you what, how about you take the
last three months, to give me a break?" I said. He chuckled and said "If it
were possible then I would, anything for my beautiful fat husband." He
said. I turned to face him "Fat?" I said. "Oh sorry." He said going a very
deep red. "Don't ever call me fat, it's your bloody fault I'm like
this. You and your huge fucking cock" I said punching him in the arm. "I'm
sorry baby I know this is my fault, but this is what we wanted." He said
rubbing his arm. "I know, I just feel bad because our sex life has just
gone to down the drain. I can't imagine what this is doing to you." I said
to him kissing him. "Hey, I'm fine." He said smiling. I noticed the smile
and I sat up (as best I could) "Who are you shagging?" I asked. "What makes
you think I'm sleeping with someone?" he asked sitting up. "Because I've
never seen you jerk off and usually you would be moaning that you have blue
balls." I said. "Well..." he said smiling. I got out of bed. "I fucking
knew this marriage wasn't going to last. The moment I got pregnant I knew
you would be off screwing somebody else. So who is he?" I asked shouting at
him. "You." He said. I looked a little confused. "Me? What do you mean?" I
asked calming down a little. "The holodeck." Was all he said. "You have
been sleeping with a holographic version of me." I asked. "Whenever I get
the chance to yeah." He said. "Awww that's so cute, you miss me that much."
I asked. "Yeah, not being able to get you naked and climb on top of you and
do all those naughty things you like does kill me." He said. "Okay I'll let
you off the hook then." I said. I would of course be checking up on this. I
climbed back into bed and I fell asleep.

When I woke the next morning at 05:00 I saw that Tom was already up and I
could hear him singing in the shower. I got out of bed and went to the
replicator. "Coffee Black." I said and the lights spun and created me a cup
of coffee. Taking a few sips I set the cup down and checked the computer
for any overnight messages. Seeing only one from commander chakotay that
said something about a tactical diagnostic going on at 13:00 I closed my
messages and walked into the bathroom. "Morning babes." I said as I went to
the toilet. "Hey sexy, you ready for today." He asked. "You bet, after the
ultimatum the captain and I gave Q last night I get the feeling things are
about to change." I said joining him in the shower. When we finished the
shower and got dressed, we ate breakfast and left. I arrived outside Q's
quarters at 06:57. I hit the door chime and he said "Come in." He was awake
which was one thing. I walked in and saw him stood there in a fresh
uniform. "Good morning sir." He said. I checked his quarters and everything
was just as it should be. "Good morning cadet, nice work this morning." I
said smiling at him. "Thank you sir." He said. The door chimed and he said
"Come in." The doors opened and in walked commander Tuvok. "Good morning
cadet, are you ready?" he asked Q. "Yes sir." He said. "Very well we shall
proceed to the gym if you will excuse us Lieutenant." Tuvok said to me. "Of
course." I said and I left at the same time as them and headed for the
bridge.

"Personal Log Lieutenant Jack Carter Stardate 50527.8 after having a rather
shaky start to his training the young Q seems to be doing very well. It's
been 6 days since he came aboard. The first four days went extremely well
and then he let me down a lot by running off with the Flyer and almost
killing Echeb but he thankfully did the right thing and Captain Janeway and
I helped him to clear up the matter. But even with all of our efforts the
Continuum didn't give him his powers back and instead made him human. Looks
like he will be with us for quite some time. I do also have to admit that
he and Tom and have been seeing a lot of each other and this kind of has me
worried, but I'm sure there will be a good reason. End log" I finished
writing. I was sat in the ready room with the captain and just finished my
log as she finished something she was doing. "So, how's baby?" she asked
coming over to sit on the couch and handing me some coffee. "Fine, but I
swear I will be happy when this baby is out of me. I'm never having
another." I said causing her to chuckle. Suddenly the door chimed. "Come
in." She said. The doors opened and in walked the young Q. "Do you have a
moment?" he asked. "Sure." Said the captain. He stood by the desk and said
"A few days ago you both agreed to let me remain on voyager. I know I've
made some mistakes since then, but if it's alright with you both I'd like
to continue my training." He said. "But you have nothing left to prove to
the continuum." I said. "I still have a lot to prove to you 2." He
said. "What about your father?" Janeway asked. "You don't honestly believe
we will see him again do you? I mean why else would he have left me here,
twice." He said. "What you should be asking is why I keep coming back?"
said senior Q.  "Now I'm sorry I left so abruptly but the continuums
verdict required an immediate appeal. I told them that I wouldn't belong to
any continuum that wouldn't accept my son as a member, we're a package
deal." Said senior Q. "You left the continuum for me?" asked junior
Q. "Don't be so ridiculous, I'm the only one holding that place together,
and when they released that they might lose me they crumbled like a gelbian
sand sculpture." Said senior Q causing me to roll my eyes. "They're going
to return my powers?" asked Junior Q. "They already have." Said Senior
Q. At that junior Q held up his hands and blew causing roses to appear all
around the ready room and big bouquet to appear in his hands. "For you
captain." He said to captain handing her the roses. "Thank you." She said
and then looking around the ready room to see roses everywhere. "Now that
you're a Q again, I thought we could spend some quality time together. I
want to show you the galaxy the way it was meant to be seen" Said senior
Q. "We tried that already." Said Junior. "Things will be different this
time." Said senior Q. Junior Q nodded and senior Q said "Run along, I need
a moment with the captain and Lieutenant." "I'll you soon aunt Kathy." Said
Junior. "I certainly hope so." She said and he disappeared. Thanks a bloody
bunch, after all the work I put in with him spending every day and night
with him and I don't even get a thanks. Janeway saw the hurt on my
face. "Don't get too upset, it's probably a guy thing." She said smiling. I
smiled back at her. "So the continuum crumbled like a gelbian sand
sculpture?" I said to Q. "Yes, some of them even got on their knees and
begged me to stay it was pathetic." He said making me and Kathryn
laugh. "If you must know I had to agree to a few minor conditions." Said Q
"Oh such as?" I asked. "Eternal custody of the boy, where ever the little
brat goes I go with him." He told us. "I hope he won't spoil to much of
your fun." I said. "Oh and before I leave I did a little homework for you,
as a thank you for junior and I got this for you Jack, for your son when he
is born and a little something else." Q said giving the captain a pad and
me a small bag. I opened the bag and inside was a tiny little outfit that
said `I'm an honorary member of the Q Continuum.' I chucked and showed it
to the captain who also smiled. "Thank you Q" I said. "Look at the pad when
you get a chance." He said. I pulled a pad out but didn't look at it as
Janeway said "Not that I don't appreciate the gesture, but this will only
shave a few years off our journey, why not send us all the way." Q looked
at her. "What kind of example would I be setting for my son if I did all
the work for you?" he said. I smiled and he vanished. "What's that?" asked
Janeway gesturing towards the pad. "I don't..." was all I said as I was
speechless. Janeway looked at the pad and could see why. I saw this
handsome young man probably about 21 years old with long dark blonde hair
in a fresh yellow uniform that was similar to a Starfleet uniform but more
futuristic. Behind him were two other men around 45ish both in the same
style of uniform but they were both red. One was wearing Admiral Bars and
the other had 4 pips signifying him as a captain. I then read the caption,
Me and my two dads, Admiral Jack Carter and Captain Thomas Walker, on my
first day as Ensign Matthew Charles Carter. "Oh my god." I said. I suddenly
began to cry. "He's so handsome. That's my little boy." I added. We were
interrupted by the comm. "Mess Hall to Carter." Said Neelix. "Go ahead." I
said drying my eyes. "Could you come down here it's urgent." He said. "On
my way" I said before signing off. Janeway and I stood and walked to the
mess hall. I couldn't help but notice that none of the senior staff were at
their posts.

When Janeway and I arrived at the mess hall we walked in and all the lights
were out. Suddenly they came on. "Surprise." Everyone screamed. "Oh my
god." I said. Tom came over and put his arm around me and kissed me. I
noticed the banner that said `Congratulations on your baby boy.' This was a
baby shower. "Did you do this?" I asked Tom. He shook his head. I then
looked at Janeway and she also shook her head. "I did." Said a voice I knew
well. Junior Q came out from the crowd and handed me and Tom and Janeway a
glass of champagne each. "You did this?" I said. "You didn't think I would
leave without a present for you after everything you have done for me do
you?" he asked. "Thank you so much." I said hugging him and
smiling. "You're welcome." He said. We all sat and talked and then came
present time and people started to give us present. The first being from
Neelix which was a big book of fairytales, then the doctor gave us some
lullabies he recorded and people continued to give us presents including
things like little outfits and toys for the baby. "This one is from Mr
Kim." Said Neelix. I opened the box and I started to laugh. "Starfleet
diapers." I said holding up diapers with the Starfleet insignia on
them. Everyone laughed. B'Elanna and Paris gave us two presents, one was a
movie tom made of what happened that year on voyager with loads of pictures
and the other was baby's first tricorder from B'Elanna which had me
laughing at that. We went round all the presents when Neelix said three
presents left "This one is from Tabor." He said I opened it and inside was
a little bajoran earring and a bajoran baby's outfit. "Thank you tabor" I
said. "This one is from the captain." Said Neelix. I opened it and inside
was a cute little designer outfit. "Thank you Kathryn." I said. "And last
is from Q!" said Neelix. I opened it and inside was another little outfit,
but this one was a little Starfleet uniform for a baby which made me
smile. "Thank you." I said. "On top of that there is a pass I will hold on
to which is a day with me taking the little guy all over the galaxy showing
him the galaxy from my point of view." He said smiling. "Thank you, just
don't get him into trouble" I said. After sorting out the presents I said
"Thank you so much everyone you have all been so generous." I said. "And
now for the toast. Seven has asked to do this one so over to you Seven."
Said Paris. "To the newest member of our crew, may he have all his desires
fulfilled except for one so he will always have something to strive for."
Said Seven holding up a glass causing me to smile. "Very good." Said
Janeway. "Thank you seven, and these little booties are so cute." I
said. "You are very welcome." She said. We continued to chat more when Q
pulled me into the corridor for a private chat. "I have something I want to
say." He said. "Okay." I said. "First thank you so much for all your
support; I would never have made it this far without you and second I Love
You." He said quickly. I stood in shock. "Yep, I'm gay and I'm totally in
love with you." He said. "Oh my god, Q are you serious." I asked. "Yes, but
I know your married so you don't have to worry, but I do think you are hot
and very good in bed." He said. "What... how?" was all I got out before he
said "I found Tom's holodeck program, I couldn't help it." He said. I
smiled and said "Well never tell tom you found it, but you're right I am
married and always will be. But thank you, I'm sure you will the perfect
man somewhere." I told him and then I kissed him on the cheek. "You make me
blush." He said. "Don't be a stranger, come back and see us. Uncle Q" I
said. He smiled and said "Well I should be off, but take care of yourself
and I will see you soon." He said and this time he kissed me on the lips
before vanishing. At that moment Janeway came out. "You okay?" she
asked. "Yeah, Q was just saying goodbye." I said. "Well come back to your
party, Neelix is about to cut the cake for you." I took her arm which she
held out and joined her back at the party never forgetting that kiss.
