is based on the series Star Trek Voyager but with a twist from the original
story line and i hope you like it.

Chapter 5: Starting the Journey

It was 22:00 and the last two days had been trying. The captain had just
given her speech to the ship telling us that we were going to be home in
around 75 years and I was stood in engineering looking around. My duty
shift had finished almost 3 hours ago but all staff had to be on duty. I
sat down on my console and looked through a systems analysis when the main
doors opened and in strode B'Elanna. She walked up to me and sat down next
to me. "So, shouldn't you have finished your duty shift hours ago?" she
asked with a smile. "Yeah I should of but I just want to make sure things
are going okay." I replied. She put her hand on my shoulder and said "Just
end the duty shift and leave I can take over for the night." I dropped my
head and said "You win." She laughed and said "I always do." I stood up and
looked around and said "Alpha Shift your finished for the day, please be on
duty at 07:00. Gamma shift your on duty now" I ordered. At that half the
crew started to leave and move out of the door. I looked at B'Elanna and
said "If you have any problems then please contact me." She smiled and said
"I will." At that Tom walked over and said "Ready to go" he asked. Just as
we were leaving Chakotay and the captain walked in to engineering and
everyone stood to attention including myself. "At ease." The captain
ordered. Everyone relaxed and went back to work. The captain walked up to
me and motioned for B'Elanna to do the same. "Firstly I want to say welcome
aboard B'Elanna and I hope things work well between yourself and Jack and
that you two can get this engine room in ship shape before we assign a new
chief engineer. At the moment you two are in the poles and me and commander
Chakotay will assess you two and make a choice." She paused and looked at
me and said "Now Jack, I didn't get a chance to say this earlier to you but
Thank you. Thank you for keeping my ship in one piece and making sure that
the crew survived and got through everything and for not questioning my
decision to destroy the array. You did an amazing job as temporary first
officer and I wish you and your new love all the success" she said looking
at Tom. I blushed and he smiled. "So you two are heading off duty and I'll
see you in the morning at the staff meeting. 11:00 hours in the conference
room right after the memorial" she said to me. "Yes captain." I replied.

ONE YEAR LATER

It had been almost a year to the day now since Voyager had first launched
and I was really settling in I thought. I had made loads of new friends in
that time and me and Tom were still going strong. But that doesn't mean
that the last year hasn't been hard. I smiled to myself. The first was a
fight me and B'Elanna had during the first few days in the delta quadrant
after she broke my nose. And yet after that incident the captain chose to
make her chief engineer. But we had settled our difference and me and
B'Elanna were stronger than ever. She chose me as her Assistant Chief
Engineer and decided that we should both run the Primary shift together. We
were inseparable when on duty because we thought so much alike. My friend's
well where do I start: The captain, Chakotay, Tom Paris, Harry Kim, Neelix,
Kes, even Tuvok occasionally and then of course there was Alex and Luke we
all just became close friends and I felt like I was a part of something
real. Like I said me and Tom had been closer than ever and were getting
along great. I was sat alone in my quarters thinking of this when the door
chimed "come in" I said as I came out of my daydream. In walked Tom. "Hey
baby how are you?" I said. He smiled and lay on my sofa where I was sat
with his head in my lap. I played with his hair. "Relieved to see you" he
said. "I can't believe you were given an extra day off. This morning was
hell and this afternoon was worse. B'Elanna and I had to realign the every
EPS conduit in the primary hull." He told. "Ouch I guess that hurt" I
said. He nodded. "B'Elanna and I were talking about Seska as well today for
the first time since she left. We just can't get over that she was a
cardassian spy. We were all really good friends and she just betrayed us."
He said. "I know, I liked her too but I guess you never know some people."
I replied. He looked up and smiled and kissed me. "well I need to get back
to engineering I'm meant to be checking a plasma conduit on Deck 7 but I
thought I'd come see you on the way" he said. I smiled and said "Well get
back to work Ensign, that's an order."  He looked at me and I knew exactly
what he was thinking. He hated the fact that I could order him around. It
was actually pretty funny. "What are you doing today?" he asked. "Well I'm
going to get a shower then head to the gym with Luke." I replied. He smiled
and said "Okay, we on for dinner tonight?" he asked. "Erm about that there
has been a slight change of plan." I said with a cheesy grin. "What?" he
asked. "Well the captain has invited all the senior staff to dinner and
included me and you" I said. "Why is she having a dinner party?" he
asked. "To mark today, since today is the one year anniversary since this
ship was launched." I replied. He nodded and said "So what time do we eat
and where?" "20:00 in the mess hall, Neelix has shut it down for tonight
and is giving it to us. The captain said it was informal as well and
doesn't want to see any dress uniforms or uniforms of any kind. But she did
say to bring our combadges." I replied. "Okay cool can I get changed here?"
he asked. "You bet" I replied with a wink. He laughed and walked out the
door.

I finally got up after finishing writing my monthly engineering
report. B'Elanna and I always took turns in writing it as it took so
long. I checked the time to see when I had to meet Luke, as I hit the
chronometer it read that it was 15:25. I had to meet Luke at 15:30. I
grabbed my commbadge and tapped it "Carter to Forster" I called. "Go Ahead
Jack" he answered. "Luke can you meet me in my quarters, I need to take a
shower before we go to the gym" I said. "What?" he said. "What's the point
your just going to get sweaty at the gym" he said to me. "Fine then could
you at least come to my quarters, I'm not ready" I said. "Okay well I'm
just coming up to your quarters now so see you in 2 minutes" he said and
ended the transmission. No sooner had I set my commbadge down the door
chimed. "Come in" I said and in walked Luke in his gym kit and me there in
my dressing gown. "You lazy person what have you been doing until that has
you still in your dressing gown?" he asked. "Are you sure you want to
know?" I replied. "Go on..." he said. "I've been awake since 09:00 and have
been working on finishing the monthly engineering report and about 10
minutes ago I finished." I told him. "Ouch... well get changed and hurry
up" he said with that cute smile I'd come to admire. "Okay, okay I'm going
but first I have to clean up my room" I said. "You know what I'll clean up
your room if you just get changed." He said with that smile. "You're on" I
said. At that he pushed me into the room and he collected my clothes and
put them in the replicator and ordered that they been cleaned, pressed and
folded and he walked back in with them just as I dropped my boxers. "Oh my
god I'm so sorry Luke" I said. He stood staring at me and said "No problem
we're all the same you know" and he just carried on as if there was no
problem and just looked at him. I was a bit embarrassed that everything was
on display to my friend but why should I be I thought it's not like I'm
ashamed of what I was born with. "Are you going to get dressed this year?"
He said. "Sorry" I said. I immediately grabbed a pair of boxers from the
drawer and turned around to put them on and as I turned back around to grab
my shorts I noticed that Luke was checking out my arse. I said nothing and
just finished getting dressed. As soon as I was ready I turned to Luke, who
was sat on my bed staring into space which was directly in the path of my
crotch. "Earth to Luke you ready to go?" he shook his head and said "Sorry
yeah I'm ready" he said and stood up and immediately headed out the door
and I ran after him. "What's wrong?" I said when I caught up with him
"Nothing I was just thinking. Come on the gym should be nice and quiet" he
said. We walked to the gym and when we finally arrived we walked in and
stripped down to my shorts and vest top and jumped on the treadmill.

Over the next hour I went from the treadmill, to weights, to rowing, to
cycling and by the time it was over I was so tired and extremely
sweaty. Luke and had kept up with me the whole time and look exactly like I
did. We grabbed our stuff and headed back for my quarters and we talked and
laughed about different things and when we finally arrived back at my
quarters he collapsed on the sofa and breathed heavily. "Do you want
something to drink?" I asked. "Yeah can I have some water" he said. I got
him his water and gave it to him and I had my lemonade and took a few sips
and felt refreshed. I then stood up and said "Right I'm going in the shower
then we can head back to your quarters unless you wanna take a shower here
and transport back to your quarters when you come out?" I asked. "Sure if
that's okay?" he said. "No worries I'll go in first and then you can after"
I said and at that I went into the bedroom while he was sat in the living
area and I thought to myself I'm going to test something so I stripped off
completely and then grabbed a towel and tied it round my waist making sure
that it would slip. I went back into the living area and grabbed my drink
and took another few sips and just as I did my towel dropped and Luke just
stood and looked at me and went red but I noticed that he was looking at my
cock every now and again. "Sorry" I said "That's twice you've seen me naked
it may be time for me to take my revenge and see you naked" I said. He
smiled and said "Any time any place I'd beat you a mile off." I looked at
him and said "We'll see." I walked out of the living area and went into the
bathroom. I went entered the shower and a few minutes later I was nice and
clean. I grabbed the towel and left the bathroom to see Luke sat on my
bed. I threw him a towel and he went into the bathroom. I smiled as he
seemed to be staring at my body. Jeez I thought to myself... this guy just
can't stop himself. As soon as I heard him get in the shower I snuck back
into the bathroom, and grabbed his clothes and towel and made sure he had
nothing to wrap himself up with. Then I went back into the bedroom and
started going through my computer beside my bed and a few seconds later I
heard Luke shout "JACK." I started to laugh and he emerged from the
bathroom stark naked. I stared and he said "Very funny... you happy now
you've seen me naked and I've seen you. Can I have my towel?" he
asked. "Why?" I asked "I like what I see" I said. I stood up and let my own
towel drop before moving closer and placing my hand on his thigh and looked
directly into his eyes. He put his hand on my chest and said "So it takes
you this long to pick up on my hints... must be what over a year" I looked
shocked and said "well what have you been waiting to do in that year." At
that he kissed me and started to run his hands over my body and his tongue
started to explore my mouth. My god he is a good kisser. Just then my
commbadge chirped "Mess Hall to Lieutenant Carter" Oh why now I thought to
myself. I picked up the badge and tapped it "Go Ahead Neelix" I said "Jack
when you get a chance could you come down here, if you're not busy that
is... I know I said I didn't want any help when you asked the other day but
I've changed my mind I do hope that's okay." He said. "No problem Neelix
I'm on my way." The badge clicked off and I looked at Luke. "So can you
afford to wait another day to have me?" I asked. He smiled and nodded
"Good, but if you mention this too anyone then you won't get to see is that
clear?"  I said "Hey discretion is part of who I am." I said. I smiled and
quickly put my uniform on as Luke transported back to his quarters.

As soon as I was ready I ran out of my quarters and towards the
turbolift. "Deck 2" I called out. A few minutes later the turbolift arrived
on deck 2 and I walked into the mess hall to see crewman chell fussing
around the kitchen. "Mr Chell if you don't leave this kitchen I'm going to
call security" I heard. I walked up to the kitchen and said "Chell, out!" I
said "That's an order." He looked at me and was about to reply when and I
held up a hand and said "Just Out!" I told him firmly. He turned and walked
out. "So Neelix where would you like me?" I asked. "Well I haven't had a
chance to even set up the tables or prepare table settings etc if you don't
mind" he said. "Not at all" I said. And with that I started to move chairs
to one side and then moved tables around and after around half an hour I
had one long table set up across the room with chairs underneath. "I've
added some extra replicator rations to your supply enough for you to
replicate the things that you need for the table" Neelix told me. So I went
ahead and replicated a large white table cloth and laid it out. Following
that I got table mats and placed them at each place. Having to feed 10
people was a rare challenge but we got them ready. I then replicated enough
knives, forks, spoons, and serving spoons and laid them out around the
table. I then replicated wine glasses, hi-ball glasses and champagne flutes
and set them out. I then turned to Neelix and realised I'd been doing it
for over two hours and said "Do you have flowers for the centre of the
table?" He looked at me and said "Yes Kes has made up two wonderful
bouquets that will go in the centre." I smiled and tapped by commbadge
"Carter to Kes" I said. "Yes Jack" she replied. "Could you bring the
flowers you have ready for tonight to the mess hall?" I asked. "I'm on my
way" she said. A few moments later she arrived and we arranged them in the
middle of the table. "The table looks wonderful Jack" she said. "Not quite
but it will" I said. I went to the replicator and brought up the selection
of candles and choose some that were perfect and arranged them in the
middle of the table. I then compiled a list of music at Neelix's request
and had them stored so that they would play continuously. It was a
selection of classical music that everyone would enjoy. I then checked the
time to see it was 19:15 and just as I did my commbadge chirped "Walker to
Carter" it was Tom. "Don't worry I'm on my way babes. Carter out" I turned
to Neelix and said "Okay can you manage without me?" He looked at me and
said "Yes of course once you have lit the candles. You'll need time to get
ready." I lit the candles and left as he was getting the replicated wine
and champagne as well as the jugs of water. He really was going all out and
I had no idea what he was making. I went back to my quarters and found Tom
waiting outside "Where were you?" he asked. "Helping Neelix set up for
tonight I've done the whole table while he's been cooking just to help him
out" I said. He smiled and went into my quarters. We stripped out of our
uniforms and we both headed for the shower.  After having a nice relaxing
shower, we came out and got dressed, I was wearing a black shirt, with some
faded effect jeans and a pair of dress shoes, while Tom had on a light blue
shirt with a wavy effect across the shoulders and a pair of dark blue jeans
and black dress shoes. I did his hair for him with wax and hairspray and
made him look gorgeous and afterwards straightened my own hair. Once I was
done I checked the time and it was 19:52. "We better go" I said. We turned
and walked out of my quarters hand in hand and headed for the mess, seeing
some people we knew on the way.

We arrived on Deck 2 to the sound of laughter and people talking. We walked
into the mess hall to be greeted by all of our friends. The captain walked
up with Chakotay. She was wearing a long flowing black dress with diamond
earrings and high heeled shoes, while Chakotay was wearing a white shirt
with beige trousers and a beige jacket. "Good to see you Jack, Tom" said
Chakotay. "You both look very handsome." Said the captain. "Thank you sir,
you scrub up well yourself" I replied. She laughed and handed us each a
glass of champagne. We walked over to see Tom, B'Elanna and Harry talking
in the corner while Tuvok, Chakotay and the captain talked with Kes and
Neelix. "Well, I'm not sure if you heard but this is for senior officers
only Jack" said Paris. "Yeah we don't want lowly lieutenants dropping in on
our party" said B'Elanna. I smiled as did they and said "Well for a start
we were invited by the captain and second your both lieutenants yourself so
get over it" I said. We laughed and talked some more when the Neelix
announced "Can everyone please take their seats." We all sat round the
table. The captain at the head on one end and Chakotay at the other side. I
was sat next to Tom and the captain. Besides tom was Harry, then Paris
rounding to Chakotay, then Kes, Neelix, B'Elanna and Tuvok. Servers went
the round the table offering wine and I had a glass of white as did the
captain as we spoke. "So Jack, can you believe this time last year you came
to me fresh out the academy and 3 days later I made you a lieutenant
commander." She said with a smile. "I know I still can't get over it." I
said. Once she saw everyone had their glasses she tapped her glass with a
spoon and stood up and we all went quiet. "Well this is a sight" she said
as she went round and looked at everyone "As you all know there is a reason
that we are having this dinner and that is too mark the one year
anniversary of the launch of this fine vessel." She paused. "I know this
has been a trying year, especially with us being stuck out here in the
delta quadrant, but this year has given us a chance to get to know each
other and becomes friends and on my behalf I think we have." She smiled and
then continued "So let's get started with this wonderful meal that Neelix
has made and enjoy our evening." At that the servers Neelix had, started
bringing over the posh plates that Neelix had replicated and placed them
down and then placed down a bowl in front of each of us. Then they brought
over two baskets of rolls. "Here we have for our first course one of all
our favourites, cream of mushroom soup." I smiled I love this soup and
Neelix always did a good job when making it. We all dug in and were talking
as a group, sharing ideas and laughing and making jokes, it was really
nice.

As we rounded off the first course, the servers removed the plates and
bowls and the captain said "Neelix you did a wonderful job in laying the
table, my mother always said the start to a wonderful meal is making the
table look presentable." I smiled as Neelix said "Well captain I wish I
could take the credit but actually it was Jack that laid the table." I
blushed as the captain said "Well Jack this is fabulous, you have very good
taste" as everyone raised their glasses and Tom kissed me on the
cheek. Just as the servers started to bring the second course out my
commbadge chirped "Engineering to Lieutenant Carter" came gates' voice "Go
Ahead" I said "Sir I've tried to get in touch with Lieutenant Torres but I
can't reach her, I just thought I'd let you know we have an unstable plasma
manifold I thought you would want to take a look" reported Gates. I looked
at B'Elanna and said "What do you think?" as everyone sat and
watched. "Pass me your commbadge jack" she said. "I took it off and handed
it to her and she tapped it "Engineering this Torres, sorry I left my
commbadge in my quarters, lock down the manifold and I'll deal with it in
the morning Torres out" she said and clicked off the badge. "Sorry" I
said. "No worries Jack, these problems can't be helped." Said the
captain. The servers had set down the second course. "For second course,
pasta with baby vegetables stir fried in basil infused olive oil". It
looked wonderful and we all ate as we talked and laughed and it ended up
with me being the brunt of a story that B'Elanna was telling about how I
ended up getting myself stuck once in a Jeffries tube. Everyone couldn't
stop laughing as she told it and I went bright red.

As the third course was being laid down she had just finished the story as
Neelix spoke up "For our main course, is Roasted Chicken with all the
trimmings. We have vegetables so you've got potatoes both mashed and
roasted, carrots, green beans, leeks, red cabbage and broccoli all with
homemade gravy and bread sauce." The servers laid down this huge plate and
I looked at the captain and we both thought the same, my god this looks
fantastic but I may explode. We both laughed as everyone tucked in. "So do
you have any funny stories about B'Elanna?" asked Tom. I smiled he knew
what I wanted to say "Actually I do." I looked at her and she almost died
inside "Jack don't you dare" she said with a smile. "Well it begins on a
typical Wednesday afternoon just as we were finishing a routine maintenance
of the replicators and we were winding down for the day when B'Elanna went
into her office and we heard a huge scream. I ran in not knowing what I
would find and there she was standing on the sofa as this tiny spider ran
across the carpet." Everyone just burst out laughing and B'Elanna went
bright red and she said "What? I hate spiders". Well we just couldn't stop
laughing. "I never knew you could be scared B'Elanna I thought you had that
big tough Klingon side to you" said Paris. "Oh shut up Tom" she replied. We
continued to talk and laugh and eat and we all finished up the main
course. As the servers took away the plates, I felt ready to explode. The
servers then stood and waited and Neelix said "Now I've made two deserts,
one I know is a personal favourite of Mr Carter and the other is a personal
favourite of our Captain so just pick one or both if you want. They are New
York Cheesecake and Coffee ice cream." Everyone picked their choices mine
was obvious, the cheesecake as the captain tucked in to her ice cream. We
all really enjoyed it and as we finished up the servers took away the
plates and bowls and came round with cups. They then started to pour us
cups of coffee for who ever wanted it. Me and the captain made sure we had
cups filled up well. We all spoke and talked for a while with our coffee
cups in a constant state of being topped and in the end one of the servers
brought over a pot and placed it between me and the captain as we were
constantly getting our cups refilled. By the time the table had been
cleared except for the flowers and the pots of coffee that had servers had
left on the table. By 23:30 Harry Kim left so that he could get some sleep
as he was on duty at 05:00 whilst the rest of us stayed and chatted more.
Then by 00:30 Tom, B'Elanna, Neelix and Kes all left and went to their
quarters. Then as 01:30 approached the rest of us that was the captain,
Chakotay, Tuvok, Tom and I all left together and went to bed. Tom and I
shared the turbolift with the captain as we all had quarters on the same
deck and Tom and I decided that he would spend the night at mine. We got
back to my quarters and we both stripped off completely naked and climbed
into bed where Tom wrapped his legs around mine and cuddled up to me and we
both drifted off to sleep.
