Ok as well before we start this is based on the series Star Trek Voyager
but with a twist from the original story line and i hope you like it.

Chapter 1: End of an Era

Day 1

"It is the judgement of this court martial, that the accused Fleet Captain
Thomas Walker is found guilty of assault of a fellow officer." Hearing
those words from the president as I sat in the federation council chambers
watching my husband be tried for the recent assault of Adam was
torture. Now it felt like time had slowed to a complete halt as I sat there
gripping Kathryn's hand as I waited to hear what punishment the president
saw fit to give. "Captain Walker, punishment in this case has been
incredibly hard for me to determine but, that being said you do need to be
punished." The president as she looked over at me. "I hereby sentence you
to 30 days solitary confinement after which you will be removed from your
current role as deputy chief of Starfleet security and re-assigned. I am
also ordering a full apology be given to Lieutenant Commander O'Toole and
after your incarceration is up then it will be up to your department head
Admiral Jack Carter what he sees fit to do with you. This court martial is
over." She said banging her hammer on the desk as everyone rose as she
stepped down and headed out of the room. People began to disperse and leave
as Tom remained fixed in one place waiting to be taken away. I got up and
walked over to the steps and went down to the centre of the room and
approached him. He turned to me. "Hi." He said in a muffled and quiet
voice. "Hi." I replied. "How have you been?" I asked. "Fine, all things
considered. How are you?" he asked. I smiled. "Oh you know, morning
sickness has started and my back is already feeling pain but otherwise I'm
fine." I replied. "You and your morning sickness. You never did get that
one worked out did you." He said smiling lightly. "No not really." I
replied. He again smiled. "How's Adam?" he asked. "That's nice of you to
ask, he's fine. The doctor has patched him well." I told him. "That's good
to hear." Tom replied. We both looked at the floor, both knowing how
awkward this was and how the slightest thing that either of us said as this
juncture could ignite another argument. "I miss you." Tom said throwing me
off. "I miss you too." I replied. "How's Matt and Emma?" he asked me. "They
miss their daddy. Matt is asking questions like when are you coming home
and that sort of thing." I said making Tom smile. "What did you say?" he
asked me. "I told them both that you were away on a trip and I didn't know
when you were coming home." I replied. "Well tell them I love them won't
you." He said. "Sure, of course. I would have brought them to see you but I
didn't think it was fair on either of you." I said. "No I wouldn't want
them to see me like this." Tom told me. 2 guards began to approach one
holding the restraints for Tom. "Well I guess this is my queue, but I'll
hopefully see you in 30 days." Tom said. "I'll still be here." I replied.
I watched as one of the officers placed Tom in the restraints and walked
him away. He turned back and looked at me as I watched Tom walk away.





Day 8

So a week had flown by. For the most part I had thrown myself into my
work. With no deputy anymore my workload had doubled. Luckily both Mr Daley
and Mr Mears had been prioritising my diary and splitting the workload
between them and making sure that things routine were getting done. Since
the incident in the courtyard and the confrontation between me and my
parents I had apologised to my parents for being rude and out of order
towards them and they had accepted this apology. As I sat in my parent's
front room having just eaten a lovely home cooked meal, I was reading over
some progress reports. "Jack darling." My mum said from the kitchen. "Yeah
mum." I said getting off the sofa and walking into their kitchen. "Your dad
and I were just talking and if it's okay with you, we would like to take
Matt and Emma away this weekend with us to Sydney. We are off to see your
grandparents." She told me. "Sure if you want I don't mind, it might be
nice for them to actually have some interaction with the outside world." I
said smiling. "It wouldn't hurt for you to spend some time with them." My
dad smiling at me. "I know but things are just so mad at the minute." I
replied. "Jack, you could just get a new deputy, there are plenty of people
who are more than qualified to take the role. Admiral Brian would be a
great choice for you." My mum said. "Carol Brain, you aren't serious. She
is a member of the war office, she lives for planning and strategizing
wars. I need someone to help keep the peace on earth not the other way
round." I said. "Or Captain T'Mora, he is an ideal candidate and he used to
be one of mine." My dad said. "An intelligence agent, not a chance. And a
Vulcan at that. I do not want my every move second guessed and certainly do
not want to hear the words 'logic dictates.'" I told them. "Well you need
to find someone, the president did say that you couldn't have Tom back." My
mum reminded me. "Can we please not talk about my? about Tom." I told
them. "Sorry son, but you need to face reality." My mum said. "Anyway, I
need to start making tracks." I said trying to change the
conversation. "Okay son, seeing Adam tonight?" my dad asked. "Yeah, we are
going to talk things through considering the situation." I told them. "Well
as long as it's just talking." My mum said. "Thank you mother, I would ask
you stay out of it thanks." I said back to her. "No need to be rude." My
dad told me. "Sorry mum, just not in a good place at the minute with
everything that's going on." I said. "Its fine son, I shouldn't have said
that. It's your life at the end of it all. And you have always made the
right choices." She told me. I hugged her as I grabbed the kids and headed
out of the house and down to the transporter.



Arriving back at the house I put the kids in their rooms and headed back
down the stairs to the lounge. I turned the viewer on as the Starfleet news
service played in the background I began to work again. Approving transfer
orders, or looking at tactical reports. After a half hour of working there
was a knock at the front door. Getting up and walking to the doors I opened
them to be greeted by Adam's face. I smiled as he did at seeing me. "Hey
you." I said. "Hey yourself." He said. I smiled more as he walked in. "How
are you?" he asked. "Tired." I replied. It was the truth I was exhausted
with everything happening. "There's no surprise." He replied. We walked
through the hall and into the lounge where we collapsed onto the
sofa. "So?" Adam said clearly this was going to be an awkward
conversation. I hadn't really seen Adam since he was released from the
hospital. I mean of course he knew I was pregnant and all about the baby
and how it happened, but now was the time we talked about it all. "Yeah
this is the awkward part." I said. He nodded. "All I need to know is where
I stand." Adam said standing up. "What do you mean?" I asked. "Well that is
my son or daughter in there. All I need to know is what involvement I can
have, assuming you and Tom want me around." He said. "Why are you saying
this? Adam I thought everything was pretty clear in that area." I
said. "Well with Tom in Solitary for 30 days I assume when he comes back
out that you two will be back to normal." He said. "So I need to know if
that child is going to be any part of my life or if we are just going to
ignore the fact that we fucked and I got you pregnant." He said. "You are
going to have a big part of this child's life believe me and the other 2
upstairs." I said to him. "How?" he asked. "Drink?" I asked him. "Sure." He
said smiling. I walked through to the kitchen and grabbed some coffee and
headed back to the lounge where we sat in silence looking at each
other. "What?" I asked. "Nothing." He said smiling. "No what?" I asked
again. "I just had a mental image that's all." Adam replied. "Of what?" I
asked. "Me and you, naked in bed." He said laughing slightly. I had to
admit I was getting very horny with him around. I stood from the sofa, took
the coffee cup from his hand and set it down. Turning back to him I grabbed
his hand and pulled him off the sofa. Our faces mere inches apart I moved
closer as our lips met in an electric pulse and our tongues began to fight
against each other. "Let's go upstairs." I said. I held his hand as I led
him up the stairs. Entering the bedroom we both looked at the bed as the
doors closed.



Day 15



"Sir you have a visitor." Tom announced over the intercom. "Thanks
Lieutenant send them in." I said working between my desktop computer and a
pad. The doors opened and in walked a very efficient and well-presented man
in a suit. "Good Afternoon Admiral." He said. I stood up, "Good Afternoon
how can I help you?" I asked. "My name is Matthew Roberts, I'm from the
Federation Arbitrators office."  He told me. "Ahh I see, how is it I can
help" motioning for him to take a seat. "I came to talk to you about
Captain Walker." He said. "Tom, is he okay?" I asked. "He's fine, as a
matter of fact he made a request to the president to allow her to let me
see him. You see I specialise in family disputes and divorce." He told
me. Hearing that last word made the blood drain from my face. I stood and
looked out the window at the afternoon sun shining down on the bay. The
water reflecting. "Mr Walker has asked that we make this process quick and
for one I agree. The terms are simple he is not going to fight you for
custody of your children, but he would like to come an arrangement about
how often he sees the children. Then he would add that he would only be
spending time with the 2 children that he has helped to bring into this
world and that the one you are currently carrying is of no affiliation to
him." He told me. I still remained quiet and continued to look out the
window. "Captain Walker is filing on the grounds of adultery. Now unless
you oppose this divorce then it can all be completed and filed by the time
Mr Walker is released from solitary confinement. Therefore it would be
ideal for you to seek immediate council regarding this issue. I have drawn
up the preliminary papers and would suggest you read them over." He said
placing a pad on my desk. "I'll see myself out." He added before rising and
heading out of the door. I continued to stare out the window and watch the
world go by. When finally it had all hit home I turned back around and
looked at the pad he had left for me. I picked it up and sat down as I
began to read. However the problem was the more I read the more I became
angry and upset. "How could you do this to me?" I said aloud. Tom and I had
been together for 12 years and married for 5 years and now he was throwing
all this away. Yes I know I was to blame for all of this but let's be fair
he wasn't the most faithful husband around. I just knew I had to see him
and confront him on this and the only way this could be done was to see him
face to face. I picked up the pad and marched out of my office and stopped
at the desk to see Tom. "Hold my calls and meetings. This won't take
long. Advise Admiral Janeway to meet me at the solitary holding cells." I
said before turning and marching out of the office. Entering the lift and
heading to the ground floor I re read the last paragraph and saw the
wording that had been used. BASTARD!!!! As the lift stopped and the doors
opened I marched out of the main doors and across the courtyard heading for
the holding cells. As I arrived I saw Kathryn stood waiting for me with 2
guards both holding compression riffles. "Jack, I can't allow you to enter
this building." She said to me as I approached the doors. "Kathryn stand
aside." I said to her. "No Jack, Stand down that's an order." She said. "I
won't do that Kathryn, I have to talk to him. This is unacceptable." I said
waving the pad in her face. She grabbed it off me and read it
briefly. "Ensigns your dismissed." She said. "Ma'am?" they both
asked. "Move it!" I bellowed. They both looked at me before the scurried
away. "Way to motivate the troops." She said to me. I approached the
control panel. I entered my authorisation before placing my thumb on the id
plate. "Access Cleared." The computer said as the doors opened. I marched
into the building and straight down the long corridor where Tom's room
was. 2 guards stood outside the door. "Admirals." One of them said. "Stand
aside." I said to him. He moved to one side as I entered the access code to
the door. The doors slid open. "Wait for me." I said to Kathryn. I walked
into the room and there I saw Tom behind a force field looking at me sat
down. "Jack" he said looking at me and standing up. "Why??" I said looking
at him. He looked down and away from me. "Answer my question. WHY THE FUCK
ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME, TO OUR FAMILY!!!!!???" I asked. "Don't shout at
me Jack. You know very well why I am doing this." He said. "Because of what
I did, big whoop. You're not the most faithful person on the planet."  I
replied. "How dare you. What the fuck have I done that even compares to
this?" Tom asked. "Your little trip to Ashalon Prime with Chris. You 2
fucked there, I know this because I have seen your private messages. Then
you fucked Kyle on Voyager, yes I fucked Alex but we agreed that. Then you
fucked Wesley during your little trip to the Titan. And god knows how many
more." I said. "YOU GOT PREGNANT!" Tom screamed. "I CAN'T HELP THAT!! YOU
KNOW THIS!" I said. "See Jack, we can't do this. Divorce is the only
option. That way you and Adam can live together, raise the kids and have
the life with him." He told me. "Fine, you know what. If that's the way you
want to play this, then we can go down this road." I said. "I still want us
to be friends after this though Jack." He told me. "Friends? Are you real?
How can we be friends after all this?" I said. "We can try Jack, we can
re-build." He said. "Well we shall see about that. See you in 15 days. Oh
and I will sign this. Don't you worry about that." I said. I smiled at him
and walked away out of the room. I looked at Kathryn. "Well that's that." I
said. She smiled at me and pulled me into a hug. I began to cry on her
shoulder. "Fucker." I said in muffled moans.



Day 22



"So Admiral, If you sign here, here and here then it will be a matter of
presenting this to the judge advocate generals office next week when Tom is
released." He said as he handed me the pad and stylus. "Commander, you are
a life saver." I said. "Hey that's why you employed me." He said. Commander
Billy Doherty was by far the best lawyer I had met. From the time we first
met when he was looking at the voyager senior staff 5 years ago when I went
a rescue mission to save Tom, Kathryn and Chakotay we had kept in regular
contact and when the divorce proceedings were going to take place I knew I
would want him to represent me. As I sat there signing my former life away
I couldn't help but think of the past. As I signed the last line I handed
the pad back. "Okay, so just to re-cap then, you are agreeing with the
original divorce petition that Tom filed where by you commited adultery and
you are agreeing with this. As for the children, your proposal which has
been counter agreed by Tom and his lawyer is that Tom will have both Matt
and Emma every second weekend and will also have them for 2 nights each
week. As for your current birthing situation the child in question will
have no affiliation with Tom Walker and have no association with his family
name. Is that all good?" he asked. "That's right. This child will be either
be an O'Toole or a Carter I have decided on that bit yet." I said. "Good
then in which case I will be on my way, as it is late and I'm sure you need
some sleep. So I'll say good night and ill be in touch about the date and
time we meet the judge advocate general." He said. "Thanks Billy, I really
do appreciate it." I said as we walked towards the main doors. "Good night
Jack." He said walking down the drive way as I closed the door. I went back
into the lounge and walked over to the mantel piece where a picture of Tom
and I was displayed from our wedding night. "So that's it then." I said to
the picture. I lay it face down. Soon I would clear the place of those kind
of pictures and work on building a new life. Be that as a single parent or
in a relationship. Adam had made his feelings clear the other night when he
said was in love with me and that he wanted to make the relationship work
and that he would stop at nothing to have me. I felt more loved by Adam
than I had from Tom in such a long time. Since we were on Voyager
even. Things just hadn't been the same. But I had told Adam that I needed
some time to get the divorce out of the way and final and break it to the
kids and then we can move on together. I wanted to be with Adam there was
no question in my mind about that. But it would just take a while.



As I climbed the stairs and got into bed I climbed into my side of the bed
and looked across. It was still strange to get into bed and not have anyone
to cuddle to or keep close to me. As I drifted off to sleep my mind began
to work overtime and think of the life Tom and I had shared.

*FLASHBACK 1*

As I stood in engineering reviewing the damage report from our encounter
with the array. There he stood trying to give me attitude. "I'm Tom... Tom
Walker" he said "Jack Carter pleased to meet you." I shook his hand and
from that moment I knew there was something between us.

*FLASHBACK 2*

He guided me over to the couch where we continued to kiss his tongue
exploring my mouth. He moved over trying to climb on top of
me. Unfortunately he missed and fell on the floor taking me with him. I
landed on top of him and we looked at each other and began to laugh out
loud. "You're too cute you know that" I said. He thought about it and then
said "Yeah I know." He replied. I smiled and kissed him again as I could
feel his growing hard on pressing against my own. He slowly removed my
jacket as I did to him. Then in one swift movement he grabbed hold of my
shirt and tore it off along with my vest leaving me topless. "Hey that was
my favourite uniform." I said. "Woopsie." He replied giggling.

*FLASHBACK 3*

I heard soft music playing and I looked around to see Tom stood in the
centre of the room dressed in his dress uniform. The tables had been moved
and in the centre of the room was a ring of rose petals surrounded by
candles. It was the most romantic thing I had ever seen. "What's going on?"
I said. He held out his hand and I walked over and stepped inside the rose
petal ring. I faced him and said "Tom what is this?" He remained silent. He
went into his pocket and pulled out a small box. He then got down on one
knee and said "Jack you are the most important person in my life." I felt a
tear roll down my cheek. He snapped open the small box and inside was a
white gold engagement band with diamonds all around it. "Lieutenant Jack
Carter, love of my life. Will you marry me?" he said. I looked down and
said "Yes." His face lit up and he got up. "What was that?" he said. "Yes,
Yes I will marry you." I said hugging him and kissing him.

*FLASHBACK 4*

"I Thomas..." he said. "Take you Jack, to be my lawfully wedded husband, I
promise to love, honour and Cherish you until the day I die." She
said. "Take you Jack, to be my lawfully wedded husband, I promise to love,
honour and Cherish you until the day I die." He repeated. "Now Jack, repeat
after me. I Jack..." she said "I Jack...." I said. "Take you Thomas, to be
my lawfully wedded husband, I promise to love, honour and Cherish you until
the day I die." She said. "Take you Thomas, to be my lawfully wedded
husband, I promise to love, honour and Cherish you until the day I die." I
repeated. She then took the rings off the cushion and said "Tom, place this
ring on Jack's finger as a symbol of the never ending love that you share
for each other." She said and he slid it on my finger looking into my
eyes. "Jack, place this ring on Tom's finger as a symbol of the never
ending love that you share for each other." She said again and this time I
slid the ring on Tom's finger looking into his eyes. Tom then moved down to
kiss me until Janeway said "Not so fast Tom, Jack and Tom have declared
their love for each other with the giving and receiving of a ring. By the
power vested in me by Starfleet Command and the United Federation of
Planets, I hereby declare you Married." She said looking at us. Tom looked
at her and she said "Now Tom." Nodding. He kissed me and everyone around
started clapping and cheering. "Jack, I am never going to let you go. I
Love you." He said to me as we hugged.

*END OF FLASHBACKS*

I awoke in a cold sweat to the sound of my alarm going off. "Tom." I
shouted bolting up right. I looked at the clock on the beside which read
'06:00'. I sighed as I climbed out of bed and headed out of the bedroom and
into the shower. Wow that was some dream.

DAY 31

"So you are both here to make this statement official. Having reviewed both
sides and reading what had been said and the agreements that you have both
come to then I see fit that this document of divorce is all in order and
official. I hereby grant the request for divorce and on behalf of the judge
advocate generals office, hereby official terminate your marriage." She
said. "Thank you Captain." I said to the Trill captain sat behind the
desk. "You are good to go." She said. I looked at Tom and then to
Billy. "Thanks for your help with this." I said. I extended my hand to
shake his. He took it. "Anytime my friend." He said shaking my hand. Billy
moved around me and exited the room as I looked over at Tom was stood
talking to his lawyer also. Tom saw my glance and looked me at me. He
nodded his head as I did in return and smiled. Leaving the room I walked
out of the building and went straight to the courtyard. As I sat on a bench
by the fountain I looked out as the cadets and officers went about their
business. "So how did it go?" a voice said behind me. I turned around to
see Adam stood behind me. "As well as can be expected considering. The
judge approved it, which is the main thing." I said. "So that's a good
thing then right?" Adam asked. "I guess, means I can move on and start
again." I said looking at him. He took my hands and I looked at him. "Just
give me time." I said to him. "Believe me I won't rush you on anything." He
said. "Thank you." I said. He held my hand as I looked into his eyes. I was
brought back to earth when someone by us cleared their throat. I looked up
to see it was Tom. "Tom." I said pulling away from Adam and standing
up. "Sorry I didn't mean to interrupt. I wondered if we could talk
quickly." He said. "sure." I said. "Adam could you excuse us. I won't take
long." Tom said. "Sure." Adam said standing up. "Oh and Adam?" Tom said
making Adam stop in his tracks and look at him. "Sir?" Adam said. "I want
to apologise for what I did to you. It was uncalled for." Tom said
extending his hand. Adam took his hand as they shook hands. "Apology
accepted sir." Adam said before he looked at me smiling and walking
away. Tom then looked back at me. "So what's up?" I asked sitting back
down. "I wanted to talk to you about something." He said. "okay." I
replied. He looked down as he slid his wedding ring off his finger. As I
saw him do this I looked back down at mine. Sliding the wedding ring and
engagement ring off my I held them in my hand. "As we are now divorced and
not together anymore I had to think what we would do with these. I mean
they are special not to keep them but I don't think just one of us should
keep them. So I was thinking we could get chains made and give one ring
each to Matt and Emma to keep a hold of, after all they were a product of
these rings and I thought it might be nice." Tom said. "Yeah I totally
agree." I said. "And as for the engagement ring, I thought maybe you could
keep it for when the new baby is born and give him or her that." He
said. "That's very sweet of you Tom, but are you sure you wouldn't rather
have it back." I asked. "No I think it is the right choice." He said. "Well
Thank you." I said. "If you like I can take care of these and get them made
properly." He offered. "Yeah that would be good." I said handing them
over. "I'll sort them don't worry. I just hope you and Adam will be happy
and I genuinely mean that." He said. "Thanks, and I just hope you find
someone who will be a better husband than I have been to you." I
replied. "Speaking of which I need to go and get ready for a date." He
said. "A date?" I asked. "Yeah, I'm going out for dinner with Wesley whilst
he is in town." He told me. "Well good luck." I said smiling. "Thanks you
too." He said. We hugged one last time. "See ya." He said standing up and
walking away. "Oh by the way Captain." I said causing Tom to turn back
around. "Yes Admiral?" he said. "My office 09:00 in the morning, we need to
discuss your new assignment." I said. He smiled at me. "Aye sir." He
said. He turned back around and walked away. I looked back breathing in
through my nose and exhaling. "Coffee?" Kathryn said appearing from a
nearby bench. "Sure, why not." I said as we linked arms and walked towards
the main building.

So we are back now folks and I would love to hear what you think of this
chapter. And for those of you who think this story is dead now that Tom and
Jack are divorced? don't be too quick to go. As things are only just
getting started. Believe me you haven't seen the last of tom and
