Chapter
16: Blast from the past



Up until now,
with the events of the past few weeks I had been so absolved with my
responsibilties at starfleet command that everything else seemed to come
second. Tom had been off world, my parents had been away, kathryn was at a 3
week tour of the new starbase on the edge of the beda and delta quadrant and I
was stuck running starfleet security and then starfleet command in general.
Being the deputy chief of starfleet was horrible. The paperwork never ended and
the need to sort something was always there. Harry and I had talked not long
ago and he had said that Voyager needed to do something more exciting than
supply runs. But there was so much that needed to be sorted for the mission
that seven was leading to the delta quadrant. Project full circle was taking up
an aweful lot of my time. The planning and preperation involved meant I had a
lot to do. Ensign Daley was being a true star and was running around for me and
making sure I was on time for meetings and that I had different things ready
for where I was going. As for matt and emma, they were happy as larry. They
were spending most of their time in the day care centre or with my parents.



That morning
I sat in my office and was working on some tactical reports when the door chime
went off. "Come in." I said. The doors opened and in walked ensign
daley. "Sir, you have a visitor." He said. "Thanks Tom send them
in." I replied. "Of course sir" he said smiling and then
leaving. The doors re-opened and I still had my head in my pad. "Just one
second and I'll be with you." I told the guest. "It's fine Jack I
have all the time in the world." A male british voice said. It was also a
voice I knew so well. I immediatley looked up and there stood a man I hadn't
seen for almost 15 years. "Lee." I said standing up. "Hello
Jack, or should I say Admiral." He replied. Lee went to the academy a year
after I did, but I never really saw him. He was also my high school sweetheart
and my first. Aparently according to my parents he was devestated when voyager
was declared lost. He of course hadn't quite reached a high rank like me but he
was a commander. "What are you doing here?" I asked. "Your
mother assigned me here from strategic ops to assist you with the tactical prep
before the delta quadrant mission." He told me. "Oh, I see. Well take
a seat and tell me what it is you want to go over." I told him.
"Well, the safety of the fleet for one. Your plans on weapons and tactical
defences. The dangers they may face. That sort of thing." He told me. I
sat back in my chair as he took a seat on the other side of my desk. "Well
to give you a brief run down. Weapons wise, they will be equipped with the new
type 21 phaser arrays, along with type 8 photon torpedos, type 14 quantum
torpedoes and 3 of the ships that are more combat ships will have 250
transphasic torpedoes each with an extra 1000 available in the storage cargo
ships. Defence, each ship will have full primary shielding and we are not
incluidng secondary shields. The combat ships will be equiped with the same
armour that voyager had and the smaller supply and less defensive ships will go
into defensive formations and the farkus will have a poloron modulator
installed to extend a defensive shield around all the ships should they run
into problems." I explained as he noted things down on a pad. "I do
think that all of that will help but do they have back-up options incase any of
these fail." Lee asked. "Their other option will be to run, but this
has been designed so that if one system fails another will take over. If the
armour goes, primary sheilds will take over and if they go secondary sheilds
will kick in." I told him. "Sounds like you have covered all the
bases." He said. "On top of that, the starbase is accessable by
quantum slipstream and they have a quantum slip stream gate to aid with this.
The starbase will be protect by multi-regenerative shield and armour. They also
have a series of torpedo and phaser turrents to aid them." I explained.
"Sounds fantastic." Lee said enthusiasticly. "As for problems,
well we are looking at possibly the kazon and krenim. But otherwise it will be
as and when they run into them." I explained. "We have assessed that
and we concur. Additionally your mother and admiral janeway want to the fleet
to confirm the borg have been eliminated." He told me. "I am aware of
that. Those were my orders in the first place. The reason why seven of nine was
chosen was because of her intimate knowledge of the borg and she can
investigate the different regions." I told him. "Okay." Lee
said. "Anything else?" I asked. "Well yes, we need to sit and
make sure that this all happens." He told me. "And we shall. Shall we
say have dinner tomorrow night. Ill find someone to babysit, probably my
parents and then go for dinner." I told him. "What about your
husband?" He asked. "He's off world with Admiral Janeway." I
replied. "Oh fantastic." Lee said smiling. "Tomorrow night at
19:30 ill pick you up." He added. "Fine, now Lee if you don't mind I
have work to do." I said. "Of course, good afternoon Jack." He
said before leaving.



The following
evening I got my kids together and dropped them at my parents and got ready for
my dinner out. At 19:30 my door bell went off. I answered the door to find Lee
on the other side. I had spoken to Tom earlier and told him that I was going out
and he was happy with this but I could also tell he was a bit unsure.
"Hi" I said to lee. "Hey" he said stepping in. "So
where are we going?" I asked. "I have a table booked at sisko's in
new orleans." He told me. "I love that place. You remembered" I
told him. "Kinda hard to forget." He replied. He contacted starfleet
and had them beam us over (the joys of rank) and soon we landed outside the
resturant. We entered and were greeted by Jake Sisko, Ben sisko's son.
"Admiral Carter, fantastic to see you again. Right this way." He said
grabbing two menus. He seated us and took our drink orders before heading off
to the bar to grab them. He returned with a glass of rose for me and chardonnay
for Lee. "Enjoy, and let me know when your ready to order." He said.
"Thanks." I said smiling. "So how's things?" Lee asked.
"Oh you know, busy. Its not easy having my job and being a parent and
husband." I said. "I'm so glad that you settled down and found
someone." Lee said smiling. "And it's nice for us to still do this. So
how's your love life." I asked. "Slow, not really anyone I like at
the minute." He told me. "Your still young." I replied. "I
guess, just time is ticking." He told me. "Don't wish your life away
or you could end up like me." I told him. "What do you mean, you have
your husband, your kids. What more could you ask for?" He asked.
"Don't get me wrong I love Tom, but there are times I wish I could have a
sweaty fling for one night." I responded. "So naughty of you
jack." He answered. I stuck my tongue out playfully. "You know
me" I replied.



Later that
night we left the restaurant having eaten the best shrimp creole anyone could
ask for. Joe sisko had been more than accomdating for us. Lee and I walked back
to the transporter and soon transported back to the house. I invited Lee in for
coffee and we sat on the sofa and talked work. We had been at it for over 2
hours and it was getting very late."So the one thing I forgot to ask was
about security teams? How is that going to work?" He asked. "Well
each ship will have a standard compliment of security officers and teams and
the flagship will also have a series of 2 hazard teams." I told him.
"What's a hazard team?" Lee asked. "It was team that worked very
well in the delta quadrant. Orginally set up by commander Tuvok, these are the
people who would deal with the more dangerous assignments. They have special
weapons and tactical training among other things." I told him. "They
sound ideal in this situation." Lee said. I streched and yawned. "Its
getting late. I think we should call it a night." I said. "Yeah I'm
beat." Lee said. "Its fantastic to see you again." I said.
"Yeah you two." He said. He moved to sit next to me. "I still
miss you." He said placing a hand on my leg. "I miss you too. I don't
suppose you ever get over your first." I replied. We shared a hugged and
what happened next shocked me. He pushed me down and climbed ontop of me
holding my arms down. "I want you." He whispered. I was totally
shocked I didn't no what to say, as he began to nibble at my kneck making me
squirm. His hands moving lower and lower down grabbing hold of my semi errect
cock. "Lee no, I'm married." I said trying to struggle. "Don't
fight this jack, I know you want it too." He said unbuttoning my trousers
and pulling them down along with my boxers and then doing the same to himself.

walking out. As soon as I heard the door slam I stood there still shaking still
half naked, and I just burst in to tears. I sat there shaking and rocking back
and forth. I was unable to think or process anything. I couldn't believe what
had happened.



The following
morning I went straight to work. I had tried to shower and act normal but the
nightmare of last night had been unbearable. I hadn't slept all night. There
just wasn't water hot enough to wash away what he had done to me. I headed for
my office and as I walked in I saw Ensign Daley sat there. He smiled at me and
then suddenly dropped his smile when he saw the look on my face. "Sir is
everything okay?" He asked as he handed me a few pads. "Fine" I
said taking them from him and heading straight into my office. I sat at my desk
and tried to work. There was a ton of requisistion requests waiting for me to
sign off on ready for the mission, but no matter how much I tried to work I
kept getting flashbacks of what he had done.

*FLASHBACK*

He began to
nibble at my kneck making me squirm. His hands moving lower and lower down

"Your
coffee sir." Ensign Daley said bringing back to the real world. I jumped
startled. "TOM!" I shouted. "Sorry sir." He said startled
himself. "Sir are you sure your okay. I have never seen you like this
before." He said concerned. I looked at him and again broke down.
"Sir." He said putting his hand on my shoulder. "Tom I've been
such an idiot." I said. "How?" He asked. "Commander O'Connell
who was here yesterday, he tried to rape me last night at my house." I
explained. "Oh my god Jack are you okay?" He asked and then looked
down. "Stupid question" he said. "Have you been checked by the
doctor?" He asked. "No, can you call him and ask him to fit me in and
check me over." I asked. "Of course. Also just to advise, Kathryn and
Tom have entered the system and are on approach to earth, ETA 6 minutes. Shall
I have Tom meet you at starfleet medical?" He asked. "Please." I
answered. He got up and left and headed out and then moments later he came back
with a pad. "The doctor to beam over now, Tom is on his way as well as
Kathryn. I haven't explained why though." He told me. "Thank
you." I told him. He touched a few controls on the pad and I beamed away.
I appeared in the doctors office. "Jack. Ensign daley filled me in
briefly. I need more info. But first you need a full check up. Please take a
seat." He said as he guided me to the bed. He scanned me then asked,
"was there any force used?" He asked. "He pinned me down and
grabbed me." I answered. "Did you probe you in anyway using fingers
or other materials?" He then asked."No." I answered "did
you enter you in anyway." He asked. "No, I kicked him off me before
he could." I told him get upset and shakey in my voice. "How are you
feeling emotionally?" He asked. "Like a wreck. I feel as though this
is all my fault." I explained. Just as I finished talking the doors opened
and in ran tom and kathryn. "Baby are you okay? What happened? Thomas
wouldn't tell me anything." He told me. He tried to touch me and I
flinched. "Baby?" He asked. "Tom please, take a seat and let me
finish my examination. Then Jack can explain." The doctor said.
"According to this your adreneline levels are 83% above normal. Your
stress levels are way above and your heart rate and blood pressure are way too
high." He told me "what's your overall opinion doctor?" Kathryn
asked. "He's fine nothing a few days rest and relaxation can't cure, and I
am going to recomend some time with a councilor. All I need to do is give you
an injection" He told me. "Thanks doctor." I replied. "Jack
can you tell me what happened." Tom said as the doctor went off to prepare
a hypospray. "Basically mum assigned Commander O'Connell to work with me
on project full circle." I explained. "Lee O'Connell" Kathryn
said. "Yeah" I replied. "Go on." Tom said. "He's my
ex, my first and my high school sweetheart." I told them "I
see." Tom said. "We had a meeting the day before yesterday and agreed
to have dinner last night to discuss the project. We went to sisko's and
afterwards went back to the house to work. I swear Tom nothing happened."
I said all panicky. "Calm down babe I didn't even think that. I know you
wouldn't" he replied. "Anyway we worked for two hours and just we
were finishing up and getting him ready to leave, he..." I paused unable
to finish my sentence. "He what babe?" Tom said. "He pinned me
down started to kiss me and nibble at my kneck. He said he wanted me and wanted
to fuck me. He pulled down his trousers and mine and grinded into me. I protested
but wouldn't stop. Just as he was about to enter me he loosened his hold on my
legs and kicked him in the stomach and pushed him off me." I told him.
"Okay" tom said the anger rising inside him. "He grabbed me
roughly and tried to force himself on me again but I pushed him away. I told
him to get out and he left. I'm so sorry tom I didn't mean for this to happen.
I feel so stupid and upset. Please don't hate me" I said. "Babe I
don't hate you. But just so I can get this right, he tried to rape you."
Tom asked. "Yes." I replied. No sooner had the words left my mouth
tom was out the door. "Tom wait." I said but he was gone. The doctor
came back and looked at me. "Doctor please hurry, I think tom has gone to
do something stupid." I said. He injected me and no sooner had the hypo
finished, I was out the door running after Tom with Kathryn behind. I ran out
the front of the medical building as my combadge went off. "Security to
strategic ops building." A man said. "Tom." I said to Kathryn.
We ran to the strategic ops building and straight inside. "Move" I
said as we ran in to the people in the enterance. We ran down the hall and
round the corner and into Lee's office to find him on the floor with Tom on top
of him pounding his face in, swinging punches and hitting him. "TOM
STOP!" I shouted. I ran and grabbed Tom pulling him away. Kathryn grabbed
Lee but not before Lee got off one punch. I let go of Tom and went to Lee as
swung my first the hardest I ever had done in my life and it connected with his
jaw causing him to fall to the floor. "YOU BASTARD." Tom screamed at
Lee who was on the floor. "TOUCH MY HUSBAND AGAIN AND I WILL KILL
YOU!!" Tom belowed. He stormed out the office and out the building. I
looked at lee who was dazed as two security officers walked in. "Admiral
carter, Admiral Janeway." One officer said. I looked at Kathryn.
"Your call Jack." She said. "Take him to starfleet medical and
then put him in a cell." I said. "On what charge sir?" The
officer asked. "Sexual assault." I said. "Of who sir?" He
asked again. "Me" I replied. He looked at me and then "Aye sir,
what about Captain Walker?" He asked. "Leave him, ill sort him"
I said. "Understood." He said. "Dismissed!" Kathryn said as
they dragged out Lee. "Well done Jack" kathryn said hugging me "don't
thank me yet." I said as I stormed out the office.



I found Tom
in the courtyard sat by the fountain. I sat next to him and we both sat there
in silence as the water trickled behind us. "So" I said breaking the
silence.  "Jack I hope you know I
did that for you." He said. "I know and yes I am flattered and happy
that you did that for me, but you have left me in awkward position. How do I
put what you just did aside compared the way Lee was with me" I said.
"Do what you have to, but just remember I love you." He said. "I
know, so that's why I won't sort anything in the way of charges. Just think of
this as a warning." I told him. "And what about lee?" Tom asked.
"He will be dejected from the service and thrown out. After a full hearing
and court martial." I said. He breathed out load. "Babe, that's
amazing news." Tom said. "So what's say you and I go and get the kids
and get out of here." I said. "Sounds perfect." Tom replied. He
took my hand and away we walked.



That night
after filling my parents on what happened much to my mums disgust we got home
and put the kids to bed. We climbed into bed ourselves and Tom moved in behind
me and cuddled me. I flinched at first before I relaxed. "Sorry nervous
reaction." I said. "That's fine babe." He said. He snuggled me
and held me. I felt so safe and secure. I knew in that moment he loved me more
than anything. Apart from our kids. My knight in shining armour.



Later that
week Lee was sentenced and trialed. He was kicked out of starfleet and never
allowed near me or my family. He was tagged and sent to the penal colony in
australlia for 5 years. The president had taken a harsh stance of the subject
as it had happened to me. I grateful for that. The nice thing was I had allies
everwhere. After a few days rest and some time with my family I returned to
work in time to sign off the last bits of project full circle. Standing there
in the command centre Kathryn and I gave the order for them to depart. We
watched as seven lead her fleet away. "Bon voyage." Kathryn said.
"Just think at one point she was your student and now she has become the
captain." I said. "Same for you as well young man." She said
pinching my cheek. "Awww" I said. She smiled and we headed to her
office for coffee. "Jack my boy, what would I do without you." She
said. "Lord knows." I replied. She laughed as we walked down the
hall. "Aunt Kathy, Uncle Jack!" A voice said behind us. "Oh
No!" We both said looking at each other...
