Paul and Josh chapter3:

Paul was awoken by the sound of his alarm clock going of.
Normally it would take him another 30 minutes to get out of
bed, but today was an exception. As soon as he had opened
his eyes he jumped out of bed cause he immediately
remembered he was meeting Josh again today. He looked at the
clock and saw he had another two hours before he was
supposed to meet Josh at his hotel. He took a shower, got
dressed and had some breakfast. He checked his answering
machine cause he forgot to do so last night. There were a
couple of messages left, all very important, but they could
wait another day. After having finished his breakfast he
cleaned up the kitchen, got his stuff together, and left the
apartment.

He walked through the streets of NY to Josh's hotel. It was
still quit early so the streets were as quiet as possible in
the city. He picked up a newspaper on his way and read it
while walking. Twenty minutes later he entered the hotel.
Josh had told him his room number so he went strait to the
second floor where the room was located. He softly knocked
on the door.

"Just a second..." He heard Josh yell from inside the room.

Paul laughed when he heard Josh yell. It just sounded funny.
Half a minute later Josh opened the door. Paul was taken by
surprise when he saw Josh was only wearing a pair of jeans.
His upper body was totally visible. Josh's hair was till wet
so Paul figured he had just stepped out of the shower. From
time to time a drop of water fell from his Josh's wet hair
and ran down over his beautiful torso. Paul couldn't help
but look at the beautiful sight in front of him. Josh was
seemingly perfectly sculpted. He was well built. He wasn't
overly muscular but Paul thought he looked amazing. "Not
even Michelangelo could have sculpted something that
beautiful" he thought. There was no visible hair on josh's
chest but there was a raven black trail of hair going down
from his bellybutton till it disappeared under his black
jeans.

"Come on in..." Josh said, "I kind of overslept...hope you
don't mind."

"Not at all" Paul replied as he entered the room.

The room was quit nice although Josh's stuff was all over
the place. There were papers, schedules, and notes
everywhere. On the table stood josh's half finished
breakfast. Paul smiled as he recognized the scenery from his
own experience. When all you do in a day is run, run,
run...there's little time to clean up.

"I'll just need a couple of minutes" Josh spoke as he took a
sip of his coffee.

"No need to rush..." Paul replied, "I'm not in any hurry."
He would look at josh's shirtless torso from time to time,
making sure he wasn't too obvious in admiring Josh's
physique. Josh walked to the bathroom, leaving Paul for a
minute. Paul could hear the sound of running water coming
from the bathroom. A few minutes later josh emerged from the
bathroom, completely dressed and as good-looking as ever.

"I had a fun time last night" Josh said as he quickly
finished his breakfast.

"Yeah me to" Paul replied.

"We should do it again sometime" Josh said in-between two
bites.

"That would be cool" Paul replied. He was happy Josh had
enjoyed last night and was obviously becoming very
comfortable around him.

When Josh had finished his breakfast the both made their way
out of the hotel. They walked down the street as they talked
about the day to come.

"So...I'm kind of counting on you today." Josh said, "I
don't know this city at all so I hope you can show me all
there is to see in NY".

"No prob..." Paul answered "I know this city like I know the
back of my hand. I guess I'll be your tour guide today
then."

He started to imitate the voice of a tour guide in the most
clichéd way possible, without any articulation or
intonation: "On your left side you see the left side and on
your right side you see the right side."

Josh laughed at Paul's stupid joke. He was glad he had met
Paul though. Normally he didn't have the time to socialize a
lot cause of his grueling work-schedule. He was happy to get
to know Paul better and was going to work with him. At least
he wasn't going to be totally on his own during the filming
of this movie.

"So where are we going?" Josh asked.

"Trust me...you'll see" Paul replied.

They walked through the streets of NY for about 15 minutes.
The city had awoken while they were in the hotel and now the
streets were buzzing with life. Both guys wore a baseball
cap so they wouldn't be that easily recognized. Since there
was a little rain from time to time the caps came in real
handy. During their walk they talked about just about
anything. Josh was very interested in what living in NY was
like so he asked Paul about it a lot. Paul, who really
enjoyed living in NY, would answer all of josh's questions
with much enthusiasm.

Suddenly Paul said: "well there it is!"

Josh looked in the direction Paul was looking and
immediately recognized the building he was looking at.

"Madison square garden?!" he said, "great idea...I've always
wanted to see it for real."

"Well...now you will". Paul laughed.

They walked towards the building. It looked as impressive as
Josh had thought it would look. He was simply amazed by the
impressive character of the building. Josh was a huge sports
fan so he knew the history of all the great events that took
place in that arena. He was genuinely excited about visiting
this landmark. Paul walked to an information desk and asked
the lady behind it whether it was possible to visit the
arena today. She told him it was so they bought two tickets.
They were handed a brochure with everything there was to
know about the building. It took them about an hour to
complete the tourist route through the building. They both
enjoyed visiting the building. Especially Josh was
excited...every time they would pas a exposition with
trophy's or signed memorabilia Paul would almost literally
have to pull him away from it. The most impressive
experience was standing in on of the business seats at the
top of the building, looking down on the arena.

"What are they doing down there?" Paul asked. He had noticed
there was a lot of activity in the center of the arena. It
looked like construction workers were building something.

"They're setting up a ring" Josh answered.

"How do you know that?" Paul asked.

Josh didn't answer Paul's question but pointed his finger to
the wall behind Paul. Paul looked in the direction Josh was
pointing at...

"Off course..." he said as he saw the poster that was
hanging on the wall.

"Wrestlemania XX...Sunday march 14th" it said.

"That's Sunday...so they must be preparing the arena for
it." Paul said.

"How cool is this!" Josh spoke excited "We're getting a
sneak-preview already".

They stayed a while to watch the preparations for the event
but then decided to move on. An hour later they walked out
of the building. They both agreed visiting the garden was a
cool experience. They kept on talking about the tings they'd
seen. Josh it turned out was very interested in all sorts of
sports-memorabilia. He told Paul he had a huge collection of
signed baseball cards, posters etc. Paul was happy Josh had
enjoyed the visit. He enjoyed being around Josh when he was
this happy and excited. As a matter of fact both guys were
appreciating each-others company.

After their visit to the garden Paul showed Josh through NY.
They visited everything there is to see in NY. They both had
a great time. Josh was happy he had such an excellent guide
and he enjoyed it when Paul would tell him the backgrounds
of the different landmarks or when he told the story's
associated with them. Paul could speak about NY with such
passion and fire Josh couldn't help but getting carried away
to.

"Hey Paul...I don't know about you, but I'm getting a bit
hungry" Josh spoke.

"Yeah...It's about lunch time..." Paul agreed, "What do you
want to eat?" He asked.

"I put my trust in you..." Josh joked. Paul couldn't help
but laugh.

"Ok...I got an idea." he said.

They walked a while through the streets of the city. Josh
noticed they were getting away from the crowded main streets
and were entering smaller less crowded streets. A little
while later they stopped before a small pizza-place.

"Here we are" Paul said.

They entered the restaurant and found it to be very quit.
There were a few people but they were all minding their own
business. They asked the waiter if he could show them to a
table. Half an hour later they were both enjoying their
pizzas.

"You know..." Josh spoke in-between two bites of pizza,"it
amazes me that you always seem to be able to find a quit
place in a city as crowded as this one."

"That's the advantage of living here..." Paul replied,
"After a while you discover the 'hidden' parts of this city
that tourists usually miss."

"I'm glad I have you to show me around then..." I would have
missed this.

"At your service!" Paul said while he laughed.

They both went silent for a while. They enjoyed the great
pizzas on their plates. From time to time Paul would watch
Josh eat. He couldn't help it cause he was still totally
taken away by Josh's good looks. Both guys wondered in their
own thoughts as they finished their meal. Suddenly Josh held
his finger up as to signal Paul to listen. Paul
listened...trying to figure out what Josh was trying to
point out. Suddenly he noticed the song coming out of the
speakers.

"I'm alright! I'm alright!...It only hurts when I breathe!"

Paul immediately pointed his finger at Josh and warned him
"Don't even think about it!". He remembered Josh's
performance from last night.

Joshed held his hands up and started laughing at Paul's
reaction. "Hey don't you dare to limit me in my artistic
expressions." He joked laughingly.

"It's funny no...?" he continued, "everywhere we go Melissa
seems to follow us."

"I'm alright with that" Paul said, "I like her music a lot."

"Yeah...I've only discovered her recently but I enjoy her
music a lot" Josh agreed, "There's just so many levels...and
the lyrics are always so powerful and so strong."

"Couldn't agree with you more..." Paul spoke "I often
wondered what true love looks like or feels like...Her music
answered that question in a way."

"Man that's deep" Josh replied. There was a huge grin on his
face as he looked at Paul.

"Hey...don't you dare ridicule me boy!" Paul laughed,
"Remember...if I leave you'll never find your way back."

"Would you do something like that to me...?" Josh said,
acting overly appalled.

"No...I wouldn't" Paul replied still laughing.

"So you've never had true love then?" Josh suddenly became
serious.

"No..You know how it is. If you're constantly on the move
from one city to the next, one hotel or movie studio to the
next...There's little time for relations." Paul answered, a
bit nervous about the direction this conversation was going.

"Yeah...same thing here." Josh agreed "People always this
that when you're famous you can get all the girls...but I
haven't been with a girl in years."

Paul got a heavy feeling in his stomach. He had heard what
Josh had said and it was not what he wanted to hear. "I knew
he couldn't be gay." he thought. "but at least he's becoming
a good friend. At least there's that." Still he couldn't
help but feeling disappointed.

"Hey...is something wrong?" Josh asked. The concern in his
voice was obvious. He had noticed the somber expression that
had fallen over Paul's face.

"No...I was just...lost in thoughts" Paul replied.

"Ok, let's talk about something else cause this talk about
relationships is obviously depressing you." Josh tried to
joke.

It worked as it brought a humble smile to Paul's face. They
talked for a little while. Drank another drink and then
decided to continue exploring the city. As they left the
restaurant they noticed the sky was blue and the rain that
had falling down before was completely gone. They walked
through the streets of NY for quite a while but little was
said. Paul was still feeling somewhat disappointed about
what he had heard. Josh noticed very well something was
bothering Paul but he didn't dare to push the subject,
feeling he might be a bit out of line questioning Paul about
it. After all they had only known each other for two days.

After a while Josh noticed Paul was smiling again. As the

got closer to the sea Paul's mood seemed to improve with

every meter.

"Are we going...where I think we are going?" Josh asked.

"Where do you think we are going?" Paul smiled again.

"Statue of Liberty?" Josh asked.

"Yes we are." Paul answered. He couldn't help but laugh at
Josh's obvious enthusiasm.

"Last time I saw the statue of Liberty I was five years old"
Josh said, "I can't wait to see it again."

They continued to walk in the direction of the bay. When
they reached it they decided to visit the statue so they
bought a ticket for the boat that would take them to the
island. Once they were on the island Paul had a
hard time keeping up with Josh who couldn't
wait to get at the top of the statue. When Paul
finally caught up with him he was already
standing against the railing admiring the
immense view over the city. Paul stood next to
him. He'd seen the view about a dozen times but
was amazed by it every time. Suddenly Josh
broke the silence between them.

"This is awesome!" he said, "You mind staying
here for a while?"

"Not at all..."Paul answered, "I still enjoy
the view."

They stood there for what seemed like an
eternity. Just watching the night slowly appear
at the horizon. Suddenly Paul noticed Josh was
humming a song. Very quit, but he could still
hear it. He recognized the song. He had the cd
at his home. Josh was quietly humming 'courtesy
of the red, white and blue' by Toby Keith. Paul
suddenly noticed the reason for Josh's humming.
He saw Josh looking in the direction where the
twin towers used to be. Both guys wondered of
in their own thoughts. They kept quit for
another 30 minutes. Not that they didn't want
to speak to each other but this was a moment
they both were in awe of. Finally Josh spoke.

"I think we'd better head home, its getting
dark already." he said with a soft tone.

"Actually...if you don't mind...there's one
more thing I want to show you." Paul replied.

"No problem...let's get going." Josh replied as
he flashed his beautiful smile again.

They left the island the same way they

came...with a boat. Once they were back on the

main land they headed back into the city. They

walked a while through the city. They talked

again about the magnificent day they had, about

the movie,... They'd been walking for quite

some time.

"Are we there yet" Josh said in a forced

nagging voice. Paul laughed, "We're almost

there."

"Where are we going?" Josh asked.

"Well...uhm" Paul hesitated a bit "I don't
know if you're going to like it...but it's my
favorite place in NY...so I wanted to show it
to you."

"Hey...If it's your favorite place it must be
good." Josh said reassuringly.

A few minutes later Josh could see a large
building appear before them. He figured that
was where they were going but he didn't
recognize the building.

"What's this?" He asked Paul.

"The Metropolitan museum of art." Paul
answered.

Josh flashed a smile. He knew the museum; he
just hadn't seen it before.

"Why did you think I wouldn't like it.?." He
asked Paul.

"I dunno..." Paul sighed, "It's not exactly the
coolest place in NY"

"Don't worry" Josh replied, "I really want to
see this."

They walked up to the entrance of the building,
bought their tickets and entered the building.
The spent nearly two hours walking through the
different halls looking at all the magnificent
art collected there. Again Paul was surprised by
how bright and intelligent Josh was. They
discussed the different artworks they saw with
much enthusiasm. It turned out to be the perfect
visit to conclude a days of exploring NY. When
they left the building Josh spoke.

"Thanks for bringing me here, Paul" he said, "I
would have never thought of visiting the museum
on my own. Thanks"

Paul smiled. He was happy Josh enjoyed the
visit. They had so much in common: They both
liked sports, art, they were both actors and
they could talk to each other for hours.

"You want to go grab something to eat before we
call it a day?" Josh asked.

"Yeah...I'm starving!" Paul replied.

They walked down the street for a while till the
found a 'Burger King'. They decided they just
wanted to quickly eat something so they entered.
After they both received their food they made
their way to a table in the back, conveniently
hidden behind a very big ornamental plant. Quite
hidden from other customers they started their
meal. They would talk about the day they had and
about the things they had seen. They both agreed
they had a great time. They continued to talk
for a while about the preparations for the
movie, which began filming next Monday. After
they'd eaten they left the place and went back
onto the streets. Paul agreed to walk Josh back
to his hotel since the boy had no idea how to
get there.

The night had fallen over NY, but the city had
not lost any of its appeal. NY by night was an
experience just as amazing as visiting it by
day. After about a twenty minutes walk they
reached Josh's hotel. They said they're
goodbyes, talked for about five more minutes but
then went their separate ways. Josh to his hotel
room, Paul to his apartment. Both guys felt
great about the day they'd both enjoyed and both
guys were happy to have gained a friend in the
other. Paul turned around to have one last look
at Josh entering the elevator before
disappearing himself in the cool New York night.

  - To be continued –

Well, that's chapter3. I hope you liked it. Let
me know what you think about the way the story
is going, and keep reading cause the next two
chapters are going to be instrumental for the
way the story continues. I received quite a lot
of mails asking me when the two characters are
`gonna go at it', if you know what I mean. Well,
it's going to happen, I can promise you that,
but I'd like to set the story first. If they
ever have sex (they will...I think in a chapter or
two) I want it to be part of the story...not THE
story itself. If they would have made it to the
bed in chapter 1 my guess is the story would
have dried up by now. This way, I think, I can
keep inserting new storylines and keep this
thing going for a while. Anyway...next chapter is
almost finished, will be up soon. Hope you
enjoyed it! Mail me at beer4myhorses@hotmail.com
