Ladies and gentlemen, I have returned, as it is time to begin finishing off
this new series of stories about the Man of Steel and his friends. First
off, if you are under the age of 18, live where it is unlawful to read this
type of story, or are offended by the notion of women in love with each
other, then please do us a favor and leave. Also, the following characters
are property of DC Comics, Warner Bros. TV, the CW, Tollin-Robbins Prods.,
and Gough Millar Ink. No copyright infringement is intended whatsoever.  I
repeat, the following are property of DC Comics, Warner Bros. TV, and the
CW, so again, no copyright infringement is intended, as mentioned before.

SMALLVILLE: A NEW BEGINNING-PART 10

THE BEGINNING OF THE END

When last we left the town of Smallville, Kansas, a lot has happened and
lot more is about to happen. Just as Sheriff Adams left headquarters to
investigate the goings on at an abandoned trailer park, Lucy Lane stepped
in to inquire about her older sister, Lois.

"Hi, can anybody tell me where I can find Lois Lane?"

The clerk at the front desk of the precinct sized her up. The young woman
had long straight brown hair done in a half updo as she was dressed in
black leather.

"What can I do you for, miss?", asked the clerk at the front desk.

"I'm looking for Lois Lane."

"Any relation?"

"She's my older sister....what's going on?"

"Appears there's a disturbance down at some abandoned trailer park just
outside of town."

"What do you mean disturbance?"

"I'll tell ya all about it...."shouted out Detective Sawyer as she made her
way to the front of the precinct.

"What's going on exactly and who are you exactly as well?"

"I'm Detective Maggie Sawyer, Metropolis PD. I'm in town to catch a couple
of escaped convicts on their way to prison. I'll tell you more about it
when we...."

Before Detective Sawyer could say anything more, she was startled to
discover that Lucille Lane was gone in a flash!

'I better catch up to her before she really gets hurt', Maggie thought to
herself as she raced out of the building to plop herself into the next
available squad car.

Meanwhile.....

"No time, no see, Sheriff...."gloated Skunkface as he glowered down upon a
captive and freshly beaten up Sheriff Adams who was at his feet. She was
surrounded by many other bikers who had come into town to help their leader
out.

"You're breakin' the law by coming here and causing trouble..."said Sheriff
Adams weakly as she coughed up enough blood from her mouth as she panted
and struggled to get back on her feet, but Philbert the Animal kicked her
back down.

The Sheriff was in dire straits and if help did not arrive but soon, she
would be done for.

"Who hired you?"

"Why some two bit gangster named Boxy Birnbaum, who else?"

"You're helping him with his illicit meth business,aren't you?"

"Hey, me and my peeps keep guard over the operation in return for a cut of
the profits that Boxy and his cronies make....nothing personal, but he
don't want anybody sneaking around his operation."

"You won't get away with this, Skunkface. Even if you kill me, I know some
people who'll stop you and bring your whole sordid operation down to the
ground...."

The sheriff was right, but Skunkface didn't want to take any chances so he
ordered his goons to help her back on her feet and drag her to the middle
of the vacant property. Shortly there after, a ghastly scene was about to
unfold....

The Sheriff was on her back, but she was spread eagle with her wrists and
ankles chained to four separate motorcycles. She was about to be drawn and
quartered!

Time was about to run out for the sheriff until.....

A flash of blackened light approached the scene in less than a fraction of
second as Skunkface was knocked to the ground, in a dazed stupor! The
others were startled as they looked around to see who had knocked out their
leader until....

Standing before them all at a distance was Lucille Lane!

"I've come to help this lady out anyway I can so if you boys would mind
stepping away from her...."

"Or what?!", yelled Mad Dog.

Before Mad Dog McTaggart could say anything else, Detective Sawyer burst on
to the scene with her pistol drawn and aimed at them all.

"You all had better surrender and come down to the precinct quietly or
else...."

Suddenly, before Maggie could shoot her pistol.....mayhem ensued!....

Meanwhile.....

It was at a top secret locale where Lois awoke to discover herself chained
just by her wrists just inches from the floor. She was weakened because of
the green kryptonite that was put around her neck. She was too weak to
struggle just as she was being punched in the face back and forth.

"Dis'll teach yah ta meddle in dah boss's affairs", scolded Scarface as he
punched Lois left and right with his fists.

She withstood as much as she could, but it was becoming too much for her so
Boxy intervened.

"Enough a that, Scarface, it's time t' fit dis broad wit cement shoes",
pronounced Boxy as the other members of his gang unchained her, but kept
the lethal green kryptonite around her neck.

They took her over to a chair, sat her down in it, placed both her feet
inside a cast iron tub, and took turns pouring quick drying cement into
it. This was the old gangland method of disposing interlopers and
tresspassers. It was tried and true, but still effective....even after all
these years!

As they were in the process of fitting Lois with those said cement shoes,
something was about to happen.

Suddenly, a batarang flew above them all, exploding in midair as wafts and
wafts of knock out gas managed to make the villains unconscious. Lois was
too weak to fight so as soon as the vapors cleared, the Dark Knight
Detective swooped down before Lois with the help of his grappling line and
quickly removed the green kryptonite necklace from around her neck!
Luckily the Batman was wearing a gas mask as he put the green kryptonite
chunk inside a special leaded vial to store safely away into his utility
belt. He watched to see if Lois was recovering and sure enough....

She breathed in the clean air as deeply as she could as she broke the chain
around her wrists that bound her. Seeing that her feet were in quick drying
cement, she raised both her legs up and brought them down with a thud so
strong that it shattered the bucket holding the cement that had surrounded
her feet.

"Are you all right, Miss Lane?"

Lois turned to face the Dark Knight appreciatively, but careful to keep his
secret identity a secret, she said to him....

"Thanks, Batman....I needed that. So where's Superman and the others?"

"They're all out at the trailer park...."

"Good, let's go there and see if we can help put an end to this nonsense",
said Lois as she took off through the ceiling of the secret locale just as
the Dark Knight followed her with the help of grappling line gun!

At the trailer park, the fighting was about to worsen.

Superman and Wonder Woman were busily fending off any bikers who had come
to help Skunkface, but they were really helping Martha and Lana out in the
process!

"I never thought you lowlifes would have anything to do with this criminal
mastermind", said Martha to Turk as he swung his chain whip around her
waist....but in vain.

The farmer's widow just merely yanked the biker to her just so that she
could land him a punch that sent him clear out of the trailer park for
miles on end. Lana was having a fun time as well, knocking off bikers with
her arms and twirling them above her head to make them all dizzy enough so
that they would be unconscious. The fighting was intense, but in all, the
victors in this skirmish would become known to all....

As Superman, Wonder Woman, Martha, Lana, and Lucy triumphed over the
seething hordes of bikers who had intruded upon the community of
Smallville.

Superman stormed over to Skunkface and lifted him up to his eyes. He was
enraged and Skunkface knew it.

"I'm going to ask you once and only once...where is Lois Lane?"

"Over here, Superman!"

Everyone looked around to see Lois and Batman stand right before their
eyes. Lucy was so overjoyed to see her older sister alive that she
literally sped over into her arms as the siblings embraced each other in a
whirlwind of emotions and elation that nearly knocked everyone off their
feet!

After the excitement had subsided safely, the sisters Lane into each
other's eyes glad to see each other safe and sound.

"I was worried about you, Lois. I'm sorry for reacting too swiftly..."

"I know, Lucy, but let's get these guys over to the precinct", said Lois to
Lucy as the rounding up of the felons commenced.

Superman found Sheriff Adams lying down on the ground unconscious and
quickly flew her to the town hospital for she was seriously injured....

It was after that they had all gotten the henchmen into the local jail that
it was learned that Boxy and his gang of thugs were about to make their
getaway. Time was of the essence so they had to act fast....

But before the ringleaders of this drug operation could be rounded up,
Martha took Clark, while still in Superman garb, aside so that she could
speak to him quickly.

"Clark, you, me, and Lana need to have a word with you after we finish
cleaning up this town."

"What's this really about, Martha?...."

"You'll see, but right now...."

"I know....we've gotta get Boxy and his gang. You and the girls stay with
the Sheriff and Detective Sawyer while me, Diana, and Bruce take care of
these crooks once and for all. Don't worry, you'll have all the time in the
world to tell me what's really going between you and Lana", said Clark as
he walked over to Bruce and Diana.

"You ready to deal with Boxy and his bunch, once and for all, Clark?"

"Yes, let's you, me, and Diana get this over with once and for all so that
we can all go home and return to more pressing matters that need our
attention", pronounced Clark to the two most important people in his life.

And before you know it, they took off to see if they could do something
about the drug ring that had entered into Clark's hometown.....


THE GANGSTERS ARE ABOUT TO GET THEIR COMEUPPANCE

Boxy and his crew were well on their way out of Smallville. They all left
the drug lab with the strip club as its cover in shambles just the state
police came in to close it down, but they were all not out of the woods
yet......

Not if the Man of Steel, the Dark Knight Detective, and the Amazon Warrior
Princess had anything to do about it.....

TO BE CONTINUED

Things are finally getting down to the wire as the conclusion to
Smallville: A New Beginning is about to come to pass. Will Superman and his
friends catch Boxy and his crew and bring them all to justice? What will be
revealed to Clark by Martha and Lana? And will there be a wedding between
Martha and Lana by the closing of this exciting new serial? Stay tuned to
