LOVE YA Chapter 45: Heroes We walked through the fair, all of us together at once. We had decided to go to the fair and have fun. It was Kelly's idea since we'd been on edge. There was merriment to be had, and I was going to have it. We rode rides and did all the 'fair' type things that make fairs actual fun. Then we decided to settle down and go eat. On the way, we ran into a psychic's booth. "We so have to go in." I chuckled, entering the tiny tent. There was a distinct feeling of awkward fear in the tent, but I wasn't afraid. "Sit down, child." The elderly, over the top psychic said, " I can see you're in ned of my expertise." I took a seat, " Hi." I smiled and stuck my hand out to her, " So, what's the rub, bub?" I asked. "Your aura is showing more than you would like it to show." the woman said. I looked back at the group, " She knows me." I said. "The lonliness of true power...the strength...the death." the woman said, looking me from head to toe, " Dangerous. That is your journey. There is much danger in your future." I stared at her, wondering how she could tell...how she knew, " What exactly?" I asked. "Only that sadness comes with everything...the wolf must follow his own journey. A reformed vengeance. A very personal deception. He comes. She will bring him. He will devour us all." The gypsy said. I just blinked, " Thanks." I said, leaving quickly. - - - - - - - - - - "What does she even know?" Doug asked, as the group walked behind me. I frowned, " Sounded like a slayer thing. He'll devour? I think maybe she meant Hell. Hellmouth. Devour. Get it?" "Just calm down." Oz said, comforting me. "I am calm, just...the dangerous part..." I said, " Maybe it's time that you guys stop with the fighting." "What?" Kelly asked. "It would be better if you guys lived." I answered. "so, you want us to just stand aside?" doug asked, in disbelief. "Yes. Things tend to happen when..." I stopped when I saw us surrounded by vampires, " Hey guys, can you come back in about an hour?" "Get him!" one of the vampires shouted. I sighed and grabbed the vampire's arm and staking him quickly. I looked over and saw Kelly ducking a vampire's attack and hitting the vampire with her bag while Cale picked up a shovel from nearby and jammed it into the vampire's chest, causing him to shatter into dust. I ducked a kick and did a footsweep, looking over and seeing Gemma and Oz working one of the vampires over, but I didn't see Doug. "Where's Doug?" I shouted. Suddenly, I noticed the vampires were gone, except one. - - - - - - - - - - The last thing Doug remembed was fighting a vampire, but something had happened to Gemma and he went to help. Now he was sitting in a room. As he looked around, he noticed that it was empty and he exhaled and looked back in front of him to see a very beautiful woman wearing a yellow cocktail dress. Seeing the woman appear as quickly as she did, he fell to the floor. "Oh, now, I'm not that ugly." she smirked, " Not ugly at all." "Y-Y-You're her. Her is you." Doug stuttered, trying to find the couch again. "Generally, that's how it goes." Sinew smiled, standing and walking to him, " You're a cutie. I can only imagine the tales you have to tell me. Where's the key?" "The Key?" Doug asked. "Yeah. Little girl, hangs with the slayer." Sinew said, sniffing his face, " You smell like clouds." "Clouds?" Doug panted. His thoughts were on Dawn nd all this 'key' talk. It was strange that he was here, it felt like an end. Sinew wasn't normal, she was a Goddess and soon she would tire of this. "You're the wiccan, right?" She smiled, " You are. Score one for me." Doug fidgeted, " I dabble." he said. Sinew stood and walked to the window, " You know, I need that key. If I don't get my key, there'll be dying." she turned, " It'll start with you." "That's what I was afraid you'd say." Doug said, " Cono Si Timen!" he said, causing an earthquake in the room and the floor cracked all the way to Sinew and the window behind her shattered. Sinew was on him in a second, " Sorry, sweetie, that doesn't work on me. That's some power you're packing, I think I found a new key." she smiled, punching Doug in the face. - - - - - - - - - - We noticed that Doug was gone right away and dragged the vampire back to the Magic Store. We tied him up at the very back of the store and locked the doors, all heading back to the vampire. We all looked around at each other. I walked over and backhanded him, " Where is my friend?" I asked. The vampire laughed, " Your friend? On the way to being dead." he said. "You better explain what that means, or I'm just gonna starting hacking stuff off." I said angrily. The vampire laughed, " We need a key." he said. "My friend's not the key." I growled. "Not the real key, just a portal opener." he answered. "Why does he keep saying we?" Kelly asked. The vampire chuckled, but as he did, his chuckl became more familiar, " Poor slayer and his friends...destined to die." "Sinew." I said slowly. "You're smarter than I gave you credit for." the vampire spoke, " I have your friend...I want the key." "How about I just come and get my friend and you get nothing." I said angrily. "Then you die. He dies and the world goes to Hell." Sinew said. "I'm not for that plan." Gemma said. "Even if that happens, the world won't go to Hell, Buffy'll still be here." I said, turning to the vampire, " I'm coming for my friend and when I get there, I'm kicking your ass." "Right." the vampire smirked, turning to dust. I stepped back and looked at the others, " Gear up, you're pretty much going with us. Gemma, you stay. Oz..." I looked around, " Where's Oz." I asked. "He went into the other room." Gemma said, " The kitchen, I think." "Right." I smiled, walking away. I walked into the kitchen and saw Oz, putting something beside the door, " What's that?" "Huh?" Oz jumped. "The suitcase. Goin somewhere?" I asked. Oz sighed, " Yeah." he said. "Care to elaborate?" I asked, moving closer. "The band is going on Tour. I said I'd go." Oz said. I nodded, " Thanks for letting me know." I scoffed. "You're not my...You're my best friend." Oz said. "Best friend? God, can you stop with the Oz thing!? You know, the thing where you hide yourself because deep down you're not a thoughtful person, you're just like everybody else!" "Alright." he said. "No! It's not alright!" I said angrily, " Where?" "Tokyo." he said, " The first stop is Tokyo." "Have fun." I said quickly, turning and leaving. - - - - - - - - - - As I crept along the dark cemetary, I felt odd. Cale and Kelly had stayed behind, making sure that nothing happened on the homefront. Oz and gemma had come with me. I kept my distance from them, trying to erase the memory of what had just happened. I pretended that I didn't just hear the last of my original gang say he was leaving. I took them because they could help. The werewolf and the witch could do more than the book guy and ditzy honor student. I clutched my stake in hand, opting to keep the wooden sais at home, locked in a safe placew ith my Dagger of Hope. I crept up to the creepy mansion just beyond the cemetary. I remembered Dawn telling me about the mansion Glory had inhabited and I instantly knew that Sinew would not live anywhere that was run down or below Goddess standard. As we crept, I heard a noise and stopped. I raised my hand, signaling the other two to stop and they did. I closed my eyes and reached forward, grabbing someone. "Ay!" Lestat said, unruffling his shirt, " What's this?" "What's what?" I asked, angrily, " And what're you doing here?" "Watching them torture your friend." he smirked, " He's a figther." "Torture?" I asked, " You might want to get while the getting is good." "I had thought of that." Lestat smiled, " Maybe we shall meet again." he said, leaving. "We always do." I sighed. "He is so sexy." Gemma said, causing Oz and I to looked at her. I walked to the door, " Stay close and if we get lost, don't hesitat to kill the nearest thing." "What if that's Goddess Girl?" Gemma asked. "Yeah, a stakes not going to do her in." Oz said, clutching a crossbow. "Run. I don't know how much that'll do, but do what you can to get the hell out! If we get lost, go." I said, looking at the door, " Ready?" I asked. "Yup." They said. "Alright." I said, lookin the door up and down. The door stood about 9' feet tall. I kicked it once, causing it to fly all the way through the foyer and into the giant lobby with a clatter. I was shocked to see a room full of vampires. I looked up the spiral stairs and was shocked to see Sinew in full formal form. "And here's the guest of honor." Sinew smiled, gesturing to the ceiling, where a painting hung. The painting swung around and Doug was tied to the other side, " Get 'em!" "New Plan, kill the vampires while I get Doug." I said quickly jabbing the first vampire with the stake. I ran through a group of vampires, kicking and staking as I went. I looked around only when I saw a light shine through the room and a group of vampires dusted, then there was a howl and a low growl before something pounced on a group of vampires, ripping at them. I smiled as I turned to run and bumped right into Sinew. I watched her for a minute, then she brough her fist up and knocked me across the room, taking down a few vamps with it! I crawled through the group of vampires, taking them out as I saw them. At one point in the battle, I looked up and saw Oz staring at me. His wolf eyes glaring through me and I felt angry! I got to my feet and kicked a vampire so hard, she flew into Sinew, who flew into a wall. I took the chance to run up the stiars and looked for a switch or something to get Doug down. Gemma let loose a burst of energy that took out the rest of the vampires. I saw Sinew coming and I jumped on the railing and onto the painting. "What...took you so..." he paused. "Calm down. I'm here now." I smirked looking around, " How do we get down?" He ignored me, looking past me. I looked back to see Sinew about to jump. As she did, a burst of energy flew from the ground and hit her, knocking her off the riaing and to the ground! I looked down to see Gemma fall to the floor. A vampire ran after her and I watched the vampire. I stuck my hand out, steadying myself and threw a stake and it stuck into the vampire's back, dusting him! I sighed to myself and looked around, " Someone help!" I yelled. We swung in the air, me swinging us back and forth toward the ledge and suddenly, something flew up and cut th ropes holding us up and we fell to the balcony. doug was still tied to the ropes and the vampires were coming up the stairs. I looked from the portrait to the stairs and jumped down on it, sliding us down the stairs and we took down all the vampires on the way down! As we crashed into the wall, the painting and ropes ripped and broke us free. I opened my eyes in time to see someone pull Doug up and I rolled over and saw Lestat. I got to my feet and watched the rest of the group scatter. I ran to the door, but I didn't make it! "Where ya going, sweetie pie?" Sinew smirked, throwing me. I got to my feet, " That almost hurt, Hell Bitch." I said quickly. "Right." Sinew said, walking towards me, " Nobody calls me a bitch and gets away with it." I walked towards her too and ducked as she swung at me, and I kicked her, but she caught my foot and flipped me, but I kicked her on the way down. I rolled backwards, and got up just in time for her to slam me against the wall and punch me, but as she went for the finishing punch, I moved and her fist disappeared into the wall! I kicked her hard in the knee and punched her in the face. I pushed her back and back-kicked her against a pillar! She got up, rage in her eyes and I kicked at her, but she moved and grabbed my feet, throwing me into another pillar! "Looks like we're going to bring the house down." Sinew smirked, ripping off the once glamourous gown. "And I thought the worse thing would be for the mansion to fall on me." I graoned, standing, " You've had a house fall on you before, what's that like?" "What's that?" she asked, moving super fast and grabbing my arm, which I had been guarding, " Another reference to a movie that I've never seen? Why would that be funny to me?" "Who cares about you?" I chuckled, coughing a little. I swirled around and brought my weight down, causing her to fly against another pillar and the house gave a shift. I smirked and ran to another pillar and kicked it from under the structure, causing the ceiling to fall! "Fly, my sweet!" she smiled, punching me so hard that I flew up, breaking through the railing, and land onto the second floor landing. I crawled to the edge of the landing and spit down into her face, " Whore!" I spat angrily, " You did watch that movie!" Sinew frowned and walked over to the last pillar, knocking it down and there was a faint rumbling. I looked and rolled away before a piece of ceiling could crush me and I sighed in relief, but as I did, the floor fell through and everything went black! "Is that him?!" Kelly shouted, " Oh GOD! DOUG! OZ!" she shouted. "You foun...OH GOD." Cale's proper voice came from the darkness. The rocks and debris around me moved, and there were gasps as I felt hand pick me up. - - - - - - - - - - I awoke when I heard clatter and voices downstairs. Many voices. I opened my eyes when I heard the door open and Oz walked in. "Hey." he said, walking to the bed. I tried to sit up, but couldn't. "It's okay." he said softly, " You okay?" I tried to speak, but nothing came out. I closed my eyes and tried again, " ...I...thought you'd be gone." I rasped. "Why would I leave now?" Oz asked. "You have to." I said, swallowing blood, " It's not safe." "We, ummm, got some info." he said, ignoring what I just said, " Doug said that Sinew's going to open the Hellmouth. Apparently the thing Buffy and Glory and everybody doesn't know, is that the Hellmouth is an extension of Hell, therefore, a portal to other realms. This is it, this is why they rebuilt Sunnydale here, they are going to use the Hellmouth, not to bring Sinew to Hell, but to bring Hell to Sinew." "I guess..." I coughed, " We know why I'm the first and only male slayer." Oz nodded, " We're studying up on..." "We aren't...you're leaving." I said quickly, " I lose, you get Buffy and shut this down." There was a clatter and something broke downstairs. "Slayers." Oz explained, " Reinforcements." "What...slayer?!" I asked, " Oz, you have to go." "I'm coming back." Oz said. "I know." I nodded. I knew there was a chance that I wouldn't be here when he got back. He kissed my forehead and hugged me, " I miss you." "I miss you too." he said, getting to his feet.
