It was getting time to turn in for the night and Roberto had gotten the
okay to sleep with Bobby in our room. Since we were all guys we totally
stayed up past curfew, "If you guys don't mind me asking, what were your
tests?" I asked the three of them since they were already on the team

They looked between each other, "Evan and I didn't have to take the test
since we're first generation X-men dude, we were here when the school first
formed. You, Roberto, and a few others are second generation, the first
recruits." I noticed how Bobby already considered me part of the X-men, it
really meant alot to me

Roberto gave me a smile, "Can't tell you amigo," he said rolling his
tongue, "Danger room experience is X-men onl, and since you aren't
officially one I can not tell you." I wasn't really that worried but it
would have been nice to know what I was facing beforehand, "But I can tell
you this, the Professor bases the training primarily on what he thinks your
levels is,"

"Level?"

Bobby jumped on my bed and held up a finger, "Well it goes like this, there
are three classes of mutant in the world. Alpha, Beta, and Omega with Omega
being the highest surprisingly. Beta level mutants usually have physical
mutations that don't extend much beyond that, Evan creates spikes from his
bones and can create armor which places him as a Beta. Alpha level mutants
are leagues above Beta as they mostly deal in manipulation of sorts, such
as fire and ice, water, even shadow but what makes them an Alpha is the
limits their power has. Take Roberto for example, he can absorb energy from
the sun to power himself up but that's it. He can't command fire or move
the sun or play out in the rain-,"

"Shut the fuck up Bobby!"

Bobby laughed and dodged the pillow Roberto chucked at him, "Point is that
Alpha mutants are powerful but still have limits."

It didn't take long to guess what an Omega was, "I'm getting that Omega
mutants don't have limitations,"

Bobby nodded and flashed his white teeth, "Yup, actually I think you might
be an Omega level mutant. Omega level mutants have zero limitations on
their powers, if Alpha's were the Earth then Omega's are at the center of
the universe. There used to be only two Omega's at the school but now
there's three." He slapped a hand on my thigh, "It's a good thing Omega's
only make up about 3% of the mutant population or the government would
definitely hunt us down." I sat back on the bed a thought of what Bobby
said to me. I was the strongest class of mutant there was, I stopped to
wonder what Logan was and it was then I remembered I had no idea what his
power was.

"What's Logan?"

Bobby and Roberto raised an eyebrow, Evan had gone to sleep in his
girlfriend's room long ago, "Wolverine?"

I nodded, Wolverine, I had to say the name for him for some reason.

We heard a knock at the door and a rather attractive guy, probably could've
been a model, with Red glasses poked his head in, "What part of light's out
did you not understand?" He didn't really sound disappointed, more like he
was used to Bobby's antics.

Bobby gave a rather dramatic sigh, "All right, all right, I'm going, such a
killjoy, Scott." He got into bed with Roberto who just laughed

Scott turned his attentions to me, "You're the one Logan saved right?"

I gave a half shrug before nodding, "Saved is kinda ambiguous I mean it
wasn't like I was gonna die or anything." I do have a healing factor of
plus 10 so it wouldn't have been a big deal

Scott came fully in the room now, I could see the perfectly sculpted lean
smooth chest and those low riding pajama bottoms.

I am going to love it here

'Oi, keep it in your pants missy,'

I narrowed my eyes at the intruding voice in my thoughts, 'Is this mind
peeping going to be a thing with you?' Jean didn't sound mad, actually she
sounded amused more than anything else

'It does when it concerns my man,'

Well there is that thing about straight guys, then again I have fucked a
lot of straight guys in my line of work, married straight guys at that.

'You go anywhere near my Scott and I will scramble your brains so bad
you'll forget that you forgot your past.'

I smacked my teeth, 'Don't worry, he's not really my type,'

'And I guess Wolverine is?'

'Shutting you off now,' the shroud went up again and I realized that Scott
was actually talking to me

"...And I'd just like to say that you give it your all tomorrow in the
Danger room." That smile looked better on a rugged face with stubble

I nodded in appreciation as I could feel welcoming vibes coming from him,
"Thank you, I was just wondering why you're wearing sunglasses inside and
at night."

"Oh well my power is that I can shoot concentrated beams of energy through
my eyes except I can't control them so I have to wear these glasses or my
uniform if I want to see."

I wondered what his eyes were like, were they blue, green, yellow with pink
flecks?

"Make sure to get a good rest," he turned off the lights to the room
bathing it in darkness and making me feel more comfortable

I had started to feel myself sleeping, hopefully to more wet dreams of
Logan, when I heard a rustle coming from Bobby's bed.

"Dude just do it," Bobby was really bad at whispering

"I told you no! It was one thing when you were doing it to me but I'm not
doing it to you! Especially not with Clark in the room."

"Ugh asshole,"

Guess I didn't need to ask about Bobby's orientation anymore.

The training session was starting to get more brutal. The Mister wanted all
of us to master our powers soon because he warned of an impending evil on
the horizon.

I doubt that we could have faced this evil because for better or worse we
all hated one another. Well I would not say that, most of tended to chose a
friend apart from Nihilism who wished to stay by himself.

And they dare call me Loneliness

Only reason I wasn't alone was because of him, the Mister had brought us in
together and we stayed together.

He was really all I had and all I knew

My real brother

I woke with a start to someone shaking me awake.

It was Logan

He gave me a bored look but I could detect a hint of worry, "You okay,
kid?"

I nodded while looking around frantically finding my sword on the opposite
end of the room, "Yeah I just normally wake up in a sweat and not because
my dreams are looking an awful lot like memories," I didn't mean to be rude
but finding out my blood brother might be out with some Mister was a little
startling

"No shit, you too huh?"

I scoffed at him, "You actually sound proud of yours," I remembered that he
was the other person Xavier was looking at about his memory loss.

"At least mine got me my own room, nothin like everyone thinkin you're a
sleepin serial killer." I got that he sometimes woke up violent

I rolled my eyes, "Who's head do I have to chop off to get my own room,"
Honestly I don't think I actually want my own room, I liked sharing with
the guys, "Anyway is there any particular reason you've come to visit me
this morning?"

"Your danger room session is in a few minutes, you gotta shower and dress
up and I'm supposed to take you there."

Logan in the bathroom with me? Lovely

But in all seriousness Logan looked the type to love fucking women and beat
up 'Nancy boys,'

I don't want Wolverine to dislike me

I looked over and saw that Bobby and Roberto were snoring and sleeping away
from each other. Their relationship was unclear but I doubt they were
dating.

I followed Wolverine down the dimly lit hallway, the sun barely shining
through the windows, towards the elevator. We stepped inside and he pressed
the last button on the keypad, a giant X covering it.

"Headquarters is on the basement level of the school." The doors opened to
a futuristic type hallway, gleaning silver everywhere. Logan led him down
the hallway but stopped in front of a door on the left, "Locker room,"
there huge lockers all around and I could see a open bathroom towards the
back.

Logan unlocked a locker and pulled out what was probably the most atrocious
and bulky black jumpsuit I had ever seen.

"This is what you'll wear during the test, you can only choose your outfit
if you become an X-man," Wolverine added once seeing my protest at wearing
a jumpsuit

I snatched it with a grumble, "Fine,"

I stopped walking into the shower when I noticed a second set of footsteps,
I raised an eyebrow at Wolverine, "You gonna get my back?"

Logan smirked, "You ain't got nothin I ain't seen before,"

"Privacy?"

Wolverine put his hands up in surrender before stepping out of the shower
area which was a good thing since I would have trouble explaining my
problem.

After squeezing into that stupid jumpsuit I followed Wolverine into what I
believed to be the control room of the Danger room. The Prof, Jean, Scott,
and a black woman with shocking white hair were already there.

"Ah Clark, I can honestly say I can't wait for your test today. I've
designed especially for you, I would also like you to meet Ororo Monroe, or
Storm as most like to call her."

I shook Storm's hand feeling a tingle of electricity as I did so

"Your test," Jean spoke up, "Is to free the captured people from multiple
points in the holographic city. There's a group called the purifiers who'll
try and stop you but you must rescue everyone."

Rescue mission, got it, nothing wrong with that

I was directed to the actual inside of the danger room and was left alone
as the simulation of a destroyed city took place.

I sat down cross legged on the ground

Jean looked at Clark confused, "What is he doing?" Not five minutes in and
it looked like her friend had given up.

Logan shrugged while Scott chuckled and Storm stayed ever silent.

I closed my eyes and felt the shadows dance on the ground, my own shadow
extended outwards reaching the edges of the simulation.

I could tell where everyone was now, the groupings of people were most
likely the ones I needed to rescue, while the ones spread out were the
equalizers.

An Idea came to mind, there were seven groups of people needing to be
rescued so why not seven me's?

I didn't have to form a cross hand sign with my fingers but I chose to
anyway, "Kage Bunshin no jutsu!" There were no puffs of smoke but several
shadow versions of myself did appear

Scott whistled, "He's obviously had some practice in controlling his powers
if he can create shadow clones of himself."

"His quick thinking allowed him to find the position of his targets without
revealing himself and without moving a muscle." Storm commended

Xavier simply watched

"You know the drill," My clones nodded, everything they learned I would
learn when I released them. They even had a small degree of shadow
manipulation on their own but not to my level. In a sense I could create my
own army with these things.

We launched off the ground in our separate directions. I landed on the
rooftop and jumped across the others as I headed towards my target. I could
easily teleport there but there were enemies on the roofs as well.

These purifier goons weren't much apart from their electric batons. My
powers spasmed as they ached to be used, to kill, to shred. But I reigned
them in and instead took control of their shadows halting their movement.

I ran past them and repeated the process on the other purifiers I found.

"I'm surprised he hasn't attacked them yet," Wolverine admired, "Went a lot
different durin mine,"

"It wastes time needlessly attacking the enemy when you have people to
save." Xavier answered, Clark was a remarkable mutant indeed. When he was
inside the boys mind he noticed that his powers seemed to have a mind of
their own, they took the duty of protecting him but had homicidal
tendencies.

He wondered how Clark would do against the Sentinel

I had already rescued the simulated people, their simulations thanking me
profusely. Suddenly memories of rescuing the others started to appear in my
head. My clones had successfully done their job and I released their
shadows.

The simulations disappeared and I wondered if my test was over. The ground
beneath my feet shook with a great rumble, I could guess what was coming
next for I had seen them on the telly in shops. My shadow teleported me to
the highest ruined building to get a better vantage point.

There stood the sentinel, the giant anti mutant robot that's supposed to
oppress my people.

I stuck out a hand as the Sentinel noticed me, six dark portals, three on
either side appeared behind the sentinel.

"Hekatonkheires," I invoked

Six heavily muscled shadow arms shot out of the portal and each arm grabbed
an appendage of the sentinel. I barely moved a muscle as the sentinel was
ripped apart, once the shadow creatures job was finished it went back to
its own world.

And I wasn't even the least bit tired

Applause sound from over the speakers.

Bobby and Roberto looked ecstatic to hear the verdict, "So how did it go,
Clark?"

I shook my head, "Don't call me Clark, the names Kage," I gave them both a
grin and they shouted with excitement
