And I do read all the other stories, and they're great, keep up the good work. They inspire me! *Note (This is the "season finale", but don't worry, that doesn't mean it's going to be a while before the next one, it just means that's where the season ends.) Chapter 12: Mister Inter-dependent (Season Finale) I walked down the streets of Manhatten, where there was no people, just rubble, cars, and trash. I looked down and picked up the newspaper, whos headline was " A group of mutants, named 'X-Men' and the infamous 'Fantastic Four' failed to stop a larger mutant and have been captured!". I looked up from the paper and noticed Magneto, but he wasn't Magneto. He was possessed and I sensed it! he had become the host of Apocalypse! Apocalypse turned to me: Soon, my son, we'll rule together...father...and son! Then it ended! It was all a dream! When I woke up I dreaded going to school, as I'd be re-enrolled into my old high school while I was here. I got dressed and made it there, and as I walked into the building I felt all attention on me. People stared and gasped at my sudden appearance. I saw their faces, they...were scared. Aisha (My best friend and cousin) walked up to me and hugged me, then all my old friends. We got re-acquainted before I went to class. I walked to class with Rien and Micheal, who had first hour with me, then I picked up the stray thoughts. Micheal (Man, he's making me horny.) Rien (I'm glad to see his face...and his ass) I was shocked, but said nothing, even when I caught Rien looking at my ass. We finally made it to class and I found myself bored and wondering was my dream a sign or just a fear. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Days passed before I even heard from Professor Xavier. Professor X: Something has gone very awry. The X-Men, Excalibur, and the Fantastic Four have all been captured. to help us, you might have to.... He paused, but mother interrupted. Mom: To kill your father. you have to go back. I shuddered: I'm ready. There was an awkward silence, there was still nothing as I hung up the phone. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My mother and aunt kept looking at me as if I was terminal, so I headed to my room. I packed, but I couldn't help sense something coming from the park. I packed the last of my things away and left to the park. As soon as I got there, there was a signature that I was familiar with. I walked to the playground: Well, well, well, if it isn't the Big Bad. It's not Apocalypse time, is it? So why the publi meeting? Magneto, his voice more bass: Tch, tch, tch...Is this the way you talk to your father? I was no understanding that my dream wasn't a dream, it was a vision. He wasn't Magneto, he was Apocalypse. I quickly sensed another signature: Lance, that wouldn't be so smart, would it? I had my back to him, ignoring him, but soon I felt his anger rise...his want for revenge. Lance was pissed: I always liked the fact that you were tough, but you're gonna be my bitch! At this I turned around and sent him flying into the monkey bars: Now who's the bitch, bitch! Just so we're clear, I did...do like you, but you date the bad guy, but take the good guy home. But we both know that Apocalypse is bad and doesn't need to be here. The Earth shook violently and shot me back, then encaged me! Lance: So I was just...what was I? A prop? I think I love you! I looked back to Magneto, but he was gone: You think that, but I don't have time for this! Where is the base? At first he ignored me, moving closer. I talked louder: If you love me, you'll tell me. Lance thought for a moment: Cairo, Egypt. My eyes turned white: Well, lover, bunker down! There's about to be an Apocalypse, and people are not coming back! You should get somewhere safe. The cage fell back into the ground and I walked away, then stopped and turned to Lance. Lance looked at me worried: You know what's going to happen, right? You have to...to... I looked at him: Die. I turned and ran back to the house, not looking back. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- " Are you ready?" is all I heard as I opened the door to my home. I felt distant: No, but what choice do I have? My mom frowned: You can stay! Charles, tell him! Professor wheeled to me: You are not obligated to.... I was angry: What?! Save the world! Save my friends!? I do. Mom...just listen, I might not come... I paused, a tear dropped from my eye: I might not come back, so I'll tell you now, I love you. She rushed to me and wrapped her arms around me. I hugged her back: Tell auntie the same...tell everyone, please. She nodded. I levitated my stuff and marched out the door: Let's go, Pro. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- All the way to Egypt, I wasn't scared. I figured that I'd die, but i didn't care. I had to save my friends. BOOM! I jumped out of my seat: What the... Professor shouted: HOLD ON! Then I felt them, evil, pure evil! Me: Professor! Angel is... Professor X: Yes, he has brought them all back. Your brothers Holocaust and Abyss...then there is Mikhail and Warren. The Four Horsemen of Apocalypse. Me: Professor, where's the rest of the recruits? Professor went silent. Me: Of course, you're not Professor X, huh, Mystique? Mystique transformed back to her usual blue self: Just sit down and shut up! I stood: No! I don't think so! I was pissed! Suddenly the sky went gray-ish black. Mystique looked at me shocked. Mystique tried to steer the helicopter: Stop! I brought up my hands and saw fire! I was on fire, or was I? I shook my head: Sorry, skank, but I can fly...can you? just then Lightning hit the helicopter and the door flew off! I stepped out of the helicopter and fell. I remembered how I had flown in the Danger Room and soon I was soaring. I felt power, and a hell of a lot of it, so I flew to a pyramid that looked oddly familiar. From the sky, I saw three planes (the invisible jet was there and visible to my eyes.). I found myself about to fight a mutant (one of my fathers) who would probaly crush me. " Here we go!" I said, entering the pyramid. I walked past the hole in the side of the pyramid, and set off a trap, to which I stopped the arrows in mid air! I scuttled past them, onto a nifty little maze, that I thought looked terribly uncomfortable, as far as mazes went. I walked on and found that "things" were in this maze. The first instance was when bugs the size of people crawled from the walls. I was ready to fight them when the maze shifted. I backed away: Holy hell! I looked at the statues come to life and thought about the time. I didn't have time to be procrastinating...I sent a wave that knocked them down and ran. After about 30 minutes of running, I heard a telepath just as I got to the 20 foot stone door! Familiar voice <Wait, X-Men, I feel someone coming!> I walked closer <Jean! Guys! The 'Weapon' is in the building...or temple.> Jean <Wait, they are mutants in here and they know you're here.?> Scott <Are you okay? Cause I'm gonna...> I felt someone coming, it was Sinister! He hit me with such a force that it knocked me through the doors and into the room where the teams were being held. I threw him back into the maze as it changed: Take a hike, you pale son of a bitch! He wasn't so tough. Apocalypse wasn't so bad. Jean: Pane... I sat up: Don't worry...my powers are amplified, somehow... Jean: Pane! That wasn't Apocalypse. I helped them free of their ropes telekinetically: Oh...well, let's get the hell out of here then! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I stood in front of the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, and Excalibur: Okay, I'm running the show now... Scott: NO! I'm captain of this team and Professor... I levitated: ...has no authority here. He looked amazed, they all did. I levitated higher and flames consumed my body, turning me into a giant fiery bird that I suspected was the Phoenix. My jeans and t-shirt became a skin-tight red suit and I landed, still on fire. My eyes glowed with fire. Johnny: Wow, you're on fire. Scott: Shut up! What do you need us to do...leader? I felt their confidence: I'm not your leader. We're a team, we don't have a leader. But they're after me, I need you to stall Apocalypse in the ritual chamber while I deal with my brothers. The horsemen showed up behind the group. Me <Go Team! NOW!> They all headed for the ritual chamber. After Johnny, Bobby, and Scott got outside the door, they turned back, but I rebuilt the door telekinetically. Mikhail: Are you going to join us? I smiled and turned to them: Do ou think I am? I mean normally I'd weigh the pros and cons, but I need a little fight. Are you up for it? He pulled up he hands and I kicked him in the chest: Tch, no foreplay? Did you forget your powers don't work on me, jackass! I blocked his attack, then kicked him again, but he caught my leg and I lifted the other foot and connected with his face and when he looked again, I punched him. The rest of the group got ready to dive at me, but I threw them telekinetically against the wall! Mikhail smiled: Reality check, comrade, this is the ritual chamber! Your friends should figure that out soon, but...it'll be too late! I smirked back: you honestly think I don't know? I was concieved and born here. You guys can come out now. The teams headed out and stopped just behind me. But something hit me, there was other signatures there and then I saw the Brotherhood, who were in a trance. Mikhail: We've got friends too. The pyramid shook and some morphed looking creatures popped from the ground and stood beside them. I then noticed that Apocalypse was standing right in front of me, but before I could move, he hit me so hard that I just stood there and fell. Scott ran to me: NOOOOOOO!!! *Vision* Scott ran to him, but Apocalypse hit him and knocked him back into a knife perched on the wall. *Vision* Seeing this, I telekinetically pushed Scott into the wall. Apocalypse: Rule in my place or else! I'll give you by the time he dies to decide With that, he lifted Professor X into the air, and I sensed him enter the Professor's mind! Professor shouted in pain while the rest of the X-Men tried to stop it, but I felt the power become too much! While the group was fighting, I was on the ground, then it got quiet and I heard a cape in the wind. Apocalypse kneeled before me: Awww! Poor baby....do we have...problems? Wan me to take this off you? I felt the flames rise and my body rose from the ground: No...I want you to get out of my face! I let go of my control and lifted: I know how this ends! I know how to stop you! And the fighting commenced! Everyone fought! Storm, Rogue, Beast, and Johnny took on the Horsemen! The rest took on the Brotherhood and the creatures. I felt the Phoenix come to the surface and I bursted into flames and wiped everyone out! That was it, I had decided that without the temple, he was nothing! The place was coming down! I looked around and commanded: Everyone OUT! Everyone stopped and noticed that I was the Phoenix! I reached all their minds and dropped trance on the Horsemen and the Brotherhood. They immediately ran from the temple. Bobby stopped: COME ON! Jace stopped next to him: YEAH! COME ON! I was telekinetically holding the temple together, so I pushed everyone out of the room except for me and Apocalypse, who was now laying beside me and out of Magneto's body, so I could release my hold. Magneto stood at the door with Johnny and Scott staring at me. I started to run, but something caught my leg! I looked down to see Apocalypse staring at me. Me <Scott, I love you, forever. Goodbye!> Then I heard him yell, " No! Not again! Don't...." then I felt it! My clothes, hair, and eyes turned white, then went back to normal! I noticed they were staring at me, so I reached out and teleported them out of the temple! Me <Goodbye, guys!> Then it all fell on me! I saw nothing but white...a room, full of white...but I was ripped away quickly. " Oh My Gosh! Reed, Sue, Ben, get over here! I think he's still alive!" was that Johnny Storm's voice? " We'll take him, but I don't...." and Reed Richards?
