Ok, guys, All the disclaimers apply, that means all thanks goes to Marvel
for the X-Men, I'm just making the story. And I do read all the other
stories, and they're great, keep up the good work. They inspire me!

Chapter 29: It's Gone because...

" Hold the line!" Scott shouted through the fighting. He punched one of the
soldiers and focused his visor on a group of soldiers that were moving in
on a group of new recruits.

I looked around and saw Hellion and Storm fighting to my left and
Spider-Man and Johnny taking out some soldiers to my right and ahead all
the X-Men in front of me. I twirled my sais and moved on through the
fighting, fighting a soldier here and there and slicing them up. A group of
soldiers surrounded me and I smirked. The all moved in and I kicked one of
them, and while he was hunched over, I used him to jump in the air and
brought my fist down on another, then put my sai through another! I ducked
and did a footsweep, taking a few off their feet and roundhousing
another. I looked back in time to see one of the soldiers hurtling towards
me, but before he got there, Wolverine tackled him and winked at me. I
smirked and turned around, kicking a soldier who ran after me. I looked up
to see another wave, riding some kind of sky four-wheelers. Two dived after
me and I ducked out the way! I got up and ran backwards, trying to come up
with a plan. I looked at the nearby tree, but I couldn't jump that
high...I'd need a way.

" Pet...Spider-Man!" I said, causing him to look over and I pointed at the
tree, " I need a lift!" I said, still running. He nodded and sprayed
webbing and I caught hold of it and swung onto one of the vehicles and
stuck my sai through the soldier wearing it! I then took control of the
vehicle and made my way, slicing through soldier until I ran into Rogue, "
ROGUE! What are you doing here?!" I asked, hovering on the bike.

" Hey suga," she smiled, " Professor said I should be here...reckon I been
hidin too long."

" Professor?" I asked, " Xavier?"


" Look out!" Rogue said, jumping in front of a blast from another bike and
falling to the ground.

Before I could move again, there was another blast that hit the bike and
sent me falling too. I was shocked when I stopped. I looked around and
noticed that Harry Osborn caught me and we were being chased by some
soldiers.

" I guess thanks is pretty cliche', huh." I smiled.

He just smiled and concentrated on what was ahead of us.

" You can let me down." I said, looking down and seeing Gambit and Iceman
fight off some of the bigger soldiers. I looked farther down and saw a
tank, " I have to get down." I said quickly.

" Alright, but be careful." Harry said, letting me down.

I ran down the way to Rogue, who was laying on the ground, " Rogue, are you
okay?" I asked, accidentally touching her face. I felt an intense
feeling...Like I was on fire.

Phoenix <Thank you, finally you're talking to me again!>

Pane <Wasn't my fault...I think i just reabsorbed my powers...>

Phoenix < Yes. Now we can communicate.>

Pane < Why couldn't we before?>

Phoenix < It does not matter, your friends need your help...>

I looked down the way and saw three giant tanks and grabbed my stomach, "
Let's hope this works..." I said, raising my hands and crunchy two of them.


Phoenix <Good Job...something's happening...>


I tried to grab the last one telekinetically, but it didn't work! I tried
once more and couldn't, then Sira ran past me and threw up her hand. She
strained for a minute and I realized that my control was temporary, but
maybe there was still something left. I felt myself extend into her to
help. I felt Storm conjuring up some winds and lightning and Colossus
spinning around and taking out a bunch of guns. Overhead, Angel was flying
around and Jean was trying to help us. The tank stopped but something
bigger was coming. I looked up and saw a giant pod barreling down to Earth!
I looked around and saw that it was going to hit where everyone was and I
immediately ran and tried to get them to move.

Phoenix <You have to try. Pull together the last of your magic.>


Pane <THE LAST?>

Phoenix <For now.>

Pane <You know what's wrong with my powers, don't you?>

Phoenix <Concentrate!>

I did as I was told and concentrated on my friends, bring them back to
where I was and, but I was failing...with one last burst of power, I did
it, but two people were left ou, but who? I looked around and saw Sira
standing by herself.

" SIRA!" I shouted.


She turned and was about to run, but the pod hit the Earth and caused
everyone to be thrown back! As it hit, it caused the tank to roll over on
top of Sira!





" Sira was a good student, great friend, and blessed sister and daughter."
Ororo said graciously, " She will be missed. I know she will."


I was sitting with her parents and the rest of the group, who sat close to
her casket. I was zoning, just sitting there, not quite sure this was
happening. I was hoping that this was another redo situation, but it
wasn't. It couldn't be. Basically, we won. The war was still going on, but
we won the battle and we all had scars to show for it. Apparently the
Shi'Ar was at war and we were caught in the middle. I wondered would it
happen again and next time, would we be the losers? I wondered who else had
to die. Sira was coming back. She wasn't poppin out of her coffin to say
hi. She was gone. My powers were gone. My pregnancy was in full swing and I
couldn't help but want to cry.

" As the weather changes, as the days go by, Sira will be in our hearts."
Ororo said sadly.

I looked over at Professor Xavier, who seemed to be content. Very
content. He looked to me and I quickly looked away. I got up to leave and
Bobby grabbed my air softly.

" Are you okay?" he asked.

" Yeah, I just need to go to the bathroom." I said, turning to leave. I
walked down the path to the school and stopped when I heard the sound of
wheels behind me, " I was wondering when you were going to come up to me."

" I thought it wise to give you your space." Xavier said, " Everyone has
made it clear that you're quite...pregnant."

" Yeah. I am." I confessed.

" Your mother knows?" Xavier asked.


" Yes." I said, " She's coming in a few months to make sure everything goes
alright. She was ok with it. I don't think she quite understands, but she's
dealing."

" How are you, 'dealing'?" he asked.

" Some days are worse and other days are alot worse. Pretty sure everyone
thinks I'm a total...Five guys are the fathers of my baby. It's scary to
say." I smiled.

" That you there are five guys." he frowned.

" No, the part where I'm pregnant. I just...didn't see that one coming. I'm
seventeen and..." I stopped when I realized I was spilling my guts to him
of all people, " You wiped my mind."

Xavier cleared his throat, " Yes. And I wish to apologize. I should have."
he said genuinely.

" Those memories are lost. I can't...I don't remember what happened. What
can you tell me about why you did it?" I asked.

" I did it to protect you." he said.

" Do you know why my powers are gone?" I asked.

" Yes. Advanced contact with the Surfer." Xavier said, " Who knows when you
will get them back."

" Honestly. I don't care." I smiled, " It's nice without my powers. It's
nice to be a normal mutant."

" I feel the Phoenix within you." he said.

I nodded, " She's strong." I said, " There's just too much going on."

" Hey Chuck." Logan said, walking up to us, " Hey kid, and..." he looked at
Xavier, " Pane."

I smiled, " Hey Logan, what's up?" I asked.

" The funeral's over, ki...ller." Logan said, looking from me to Xavier, "
Having a heart to heart?"

" Yes." xavier smiled.

" Everyone thinks I'm going to try and kill you, but I'm not. I have bigger
things to worry about." I said, walking away.

Logan jogged up behind me, " So, you're not mad at chuck?" he asked in
shock.

" Should I be?" I asked.

" Yeah, a little." Logan said, " Look, if you're keeping this all in you
shouldn't...it could..." he said.

" What? Build up in me until I destroy the world? That's Rogue." I said,
walking away.



" SO, what you guys are saying is that I have his powers?" Rogue asked, "
Good lord, that explains some things, but why?"

" You were closet when he reached out and touched you." Professor said, "
Not sure who else he touched..."

" Me." Ororo said, " Lately, I have been able to change weather on a bigger
scale."

" Bigger scale?" Ororo asked.


" Yes. A precious flower, destroyed centuries ago. I made one. I also think
I have been causing the space conditions on Mars." Ororo confessed.

" So, 'xactly how long's this supposed to happen?" Rogue asked, playing
with her gloves.

" I do not know." Professor Xavier said honestly, " The affects were
supposed to wear off weeks ago, but due to prolonged exposure to the Silver
Surfer, there may be no telling."

" So, what are we going to do about the other problem, Chuck?" Logan asked.

" Which one?" Xavier asked.

" I think he's talking about the mass of attacks around the world that have
suddenly stopped." Scott said, leaning back in his chair.

" I agree, what should we do?" Magneto asked.

Xavier smiled at him, " Magnus. I am surprised that you are here." he said.

" I have a...vested interest in the outcome." Magento said.

" Regardless, your presence is welcomed." Xavier said, turning back to the
team, " Lilandra has contacted me with news, apparently the Shi'Ar's
tactics are very effective. They have beaten back these forces and are
trying to indentify them as we speak."

" So, we have no name or justification for the attacks?" Jean asked.

" No." Xavier said politely.

" I am not so sure that they are attacking us..." Magneto said quickly.

" And why is that, bub." Logan snapped.

" It is a feeling..." Magneto said.

" It's more than that." Rogue said angrily, " It's these powers...you're
hiding something."

Magneto sighed, " I got a message from my old friend, Mystique. She thinks
that someone else is behind these attacks." he said.

" Someone like who?" Scott asked.

" Graydon Creed." Magneto said, causing everyone to gasp.

Just then there was an alert and Scott rushed over to it, as did the rest
of the team.

" A giant sea creature..." Xavier asked, " Who would unleash something like
that?"





I sat alone, thinking about Sira. She was a great person and a brave person
and someone that I would have given my life for. Of all the blood spilled,
that was the most shocking. Sira was a true friend and I had seen her. Her,
not the person I met, but her. The fun, outspoken her. The one that would
never...she was a nerd. A true nerd, but aren't all heroes nerdy? All true
heroes are just people like everyone. They are accountants, senators,
nerds, jocks, white, black, yellow, green, orange...blue.

" Yeah, suga, we are." Rogue said, causing me to turn to see her, " I'm
gonna miss her. she was a peach."

" Yeah." I smiled weakly, " It's weird that she 'was' and she's not now."

" So, I stopped by to see if you were okay." Rogue smiled, " How's the
baby?"

" The baby's alright, I guess. Hungry." I said.

" Oh, how are you doing without powers." she asked.

" About as good as you're doing with them." I replied, " Any word on how
long it's gonna take to get my powers back?"

" They don't know anything, suge, but the world's falling apart. I have to
go, apparently there's some big creature thing at the bay." she said,
standing.

" Of course. Cause the world isn't screwed up enough without sea
creatures." I said, watching her walk away.

As she walked away, I noticed Bobby, Sam, Jubilee, Ray, Amara, and Jace. I
looked to them, all of them. I stood and walked to them, slowing as I got
too close.


" Hey." Bobby smiled.

" Hey," I smiled.

" How are you?" Jubilee asked. It was then I noticed that Sam was as far as
he could be from her and Ray was closer than usual.

" I won't be doing jello shots for a while, but that's on another scale." I
said quickly.

" Huh?" Amara asked.

" Just elaborating that I need a drink." I smiled.

They all chuckled and I stopped first.

" Sorry." I said quickly.

" For what?" Sam asked.

" The fact that I wasn't there to be with you guys. It's not fair." I
frowned.

" Life's not fair." Jace said.


" It's cool. You just have the life of an X-Man." Bobby said, " That
and..."

" How is that?" Sam asked.

" Pregnancy?" I asked.

" Yeah." Jubilee asked.


" Wear a condom." I said honestly.

" Oh." Jubilee said, sinking down.

" Everything is about to change...again. I don't know if I'm...I'm
leaving." I said quickly.

They all looked stunned, " What?" they asked.

" I'm coming back, but they, the fathers of my baby...how weird is that?
Well, they think that I should go with each other them for a month to sort
of try out the whole and see if I want to live with them." I said, " Only
after the baby is born and I've graduated."

" Oh." Bobby nodded, wide-eyed.

" Yeah. I figure I'll..." I stopped at the great gust of wind.

" Was that you?" Sam asked.

" Powerless." I said.

Behind me landed Namor, King of Atlantis!

" It was I." Namor said.

" OK, do you know why you're here?" I asked.

" I wish to see Xavier." Namor said, looking around as he had attracted
attention.

" He's not here,but we could turn on a radio and sing along to the Spice
girls, that brightens my mood." I said shyly.

" Who is this Spice Girl?" he asked.

I looked back at the group, then at him, " And I thought Logan was
talkative." I said.

" ENOUGH!" he said in his deepest voice, " I will see Xavier!"

" Hold on fishboy, he's not..." I said,but before I could get anything else
out, he snatched me and took off into the air!

There is a talk between Pane and the group, then is Namor coming to land
and kidnapping Pane, then at the end, Pane is teased and becomes the slut
of the school.
