Ok, guys, All the disclaimers apply, that means all thanks goes to Marvel
for the X-Men, I'm just making the story. And I do read all the other
stories, and they're great, keep up the good work. They inspire me!

Chapter 8: The Ice-Man Go...eth

When I woke up, pillows were thrown about the room, the trashcan and all
its contents rested on the floor, the sheets also on the floor, covering
us. Yes us! Bobby and I...it had a nice ring to it, don't you think? I
layed there looking at his face, which seemed so odd. It wasn't...I didn't
expect this. I wished it, but never expected it. I watched him again, but
he must have felt it because his eyes slowly opened.

Bobby, waking up: Wow, yeah, I knew we'd gotten rough, but...sorry.

I surveyed the room with Bobby: For what? That's like my second time...and
my third...and my fourth...and...well, it was worth it, but did we really
do it in there?

I pointed at the closet and Bobby and I laughed, then he leaned over and
kissed me.

KNOCK!KNOCK!

I shouted to the door: Who is it?

Scott: It's me and Logan!

I looked at Bobby and ushered him into the closet.

Bobby <My Clothes!>

I grabbed his clothes and shoved them into the closet and shut the door.

I scrambled to find my clothes: Hold on, just a minute.

I opened the door nervously: Hi, guys! Why the visit?

Logan immediately began sniffing the air, looking for something I suspected
was Bobby.

Scott, stared at Logan: Logan, what's....

I quickly finished his sentence: ...The reason you're here?! Yeah I wanna
know too.

Logan returned to us: Just to make sure you're okay...we know you have
something new to deal with. Are you okay? You seem nervous, bub.

He stared at me, then to the closet and winked: I see you're okay, huh,
Small-fry.

Logan left me in the room with Scott and Bobby, which was not my ideal
situation at the moment. I looked back to Scott. I could tell that through
the ruby quartz glasses, he was giving me the wounded puppy eyes again.

Scott moved closer to me and grabbed my hand: I think we need to
talk...when I broke up with you it was for your good, but I don't think
that I can stand being away from. And since I didn't cheat, maybe we could
be...

I stumbled forward as I felt a pretty intense anger hit me.

Scott: Are you okay?

I looked to the closet: Yeah, I'M not the one with the problem right
now. Look, I'm just not ready, or willing to get hurt by you again. I know
it wasn't your fault last time, I think we need...space. You hurt me, and
it wasn't you who I got comfort from.

He tried to hug me, but I pushed him away. I felt Bobby's anger hit a
boiling point, then subside. There was relief.

Scott shouted: So is that it?! There is someone else...is it Bobby? Or
Johnny Storm? Who is it?

Pane: He's my friend, he doesn't hurt me like you hurt me. You did this to
us! I'll always love you, but I really can't trust you.

Scott looked at me as if I had said the worst thing I could possibly say,
then stormed away and Bobby came out of the closet.

Bobby hugged me: I...They're having a night out again...up for it?

I nodded and he kissed me, and we fell bad on the bed, but I stopped.

Pane: I've got class.

Bobby sighed and kissed my cheek, then got up and left. I sat there alone
with the thoughts of the fight I'd just had. How did i get here? I mean I
had a boyfriend, but he dumped me, then I tricked the Brotherhood, and got
the Phoenix Force inside my mind, which didn't help in controlling my
powers. My life was a mess! But I digress, I got up and dressed for class
and left. I stopped as I entered the room and saw a group of popular girls
were hassling another girl. The girls were Diana Marks, the leader, The
Stepford Cukoos (as they were called), and Lara Caine. I walked in time to
hear their insults.

Diana: You see this row? No losers allowed, so move.

Sira, Montrige: I'm sorry, I didn't know.

Lara: Gosh, you're pathetic.

Diana: Just like you're poor grandma, didn't she like, die because she
would use her powers to protect herself?

They all laughed at this, pushing Sira to tears.

Pane: Hey.

Diana looked me over: Who are you?

Pane: Pane. Pane Rawlings.

They all raised their eyebrows.

Lara: YOu're cute! Wanna hang out after class?

I put my hand on Sira's shoulder: Oooo! Sorry, you see, I don't hang out
with skanks, skeezers, or loser hos. Me and my friend, Sira, are gonna
hang. You can leave now.

Diana scoffed: Pathetic.

As she walked away I tripped Telekinetically.

Sira and I talked before the bell ran and we were joined by the rest of the
group.

We gathered in the Rec. Room after class and I introduced Sira, then talked
about how we first discovered we had powers or that we were different. Ray
had just finished and now it was my turn.

I told the story: I always knew I was different, but when I really got a
glimpse of my uniqueness. Is that a real word? Anyways, Me and my friends
had a night out. My friend who had been away, Jackie was in town and we got
our other friend Shawna, Marcus, and Jason and went driving around. It...it
came at us so fast. Luckily for me, I could teleport (I wasn't aware of it,
but I could) but I could save her...she died in my arms. I thought it was
strange, then I remembered what I had done.

When I stopped, I noticed the whole room had been listening and had gone
deaf all of a sudden. The bell rang and I got up and left for class.

That night...

Bobby and I went to a nearby park. When we got there Bobby went into the
back of the car and pulled out a picnic basket. We ate and talked abouthis
family, then mine, and shared stories.

Bobby finally asked: So, you saw Apocalypse?

Pane: Haven't you?

Bobby: Yeah, but I wasn't by myself.

He laughed, but as we finished up, we got an urgent call.

ProfessorX <Kids, get to the mansion immediately!>

We quickly picked up the basket and jumped in the car. on the way back, I
felt him...he wanted to tell me something.

Pane: So, where do we go from here?

Bobby: I have to tell you something. I love you and you are my best
friend...but I have to go help out another team, Excalibur, or another
branch of that team. They want Kitty and I.

It was like time stopped, I looked at him with my mouth opened.

Bobby: They want me to co-lead. I'm not going...I want to stay with you,
I...

I tekekinetically stopped the car: No, you have to go. No matter what
you're leaving...you have to go and save the world. You could save us
all...

Bobby: ...but...

Pane: I don't want you to resent me. I'll be here when you get back.

I released my hold of the car and we sped away. It was a quiet ride home
and we both knew why. I didn't want him to go, but he had to go. I loved
him enough to let him go, and it sucked.

The days after that day were so short...It seemed like life wanted this day
to come. The day when I'd have to say goodbye to Bobby. I cried, but I knew
he had to go.

I sobbed: I guess this is...

Bobby put his finger to my lip: This is "see ya later".

He kissed me, then left my room. I broke into tears, remembering all the
good times we'd had and how he'd be gone for so long and how I'd be lonely,
but then I thought about where he was going...he was going to help
people...to save the world. I layed on the bed, sobbing, and turned on the
radio.
