Cheddar's, Chapter 5

Adam was awakened by a minty kiss on Christmas morning. It was like a
beautiful dream, but he was fully awake – aroused might be a better
choice of words. He could possibly have been embarrassed by his morning
wood if Parker hadn't been displaying something quite similar. This was
their first morning to be both naked and hard in each other's presence. It
was indeed stimulating.

"I'd better brush my teeth if we're going to continue this!"

"Okay, then let's shower together, um to save water, of course."

Up to a point, their shower was pretty much a rerun of the one the night
before, but this time, Parker knelt the minute he could tell Adam was close
to his climax. A few seconds after he took Adam's throbbing tool into his
mouth, it began to spew a thick load. Adam bucked and moaned as if in the
throes of death.

As soon as he recovered sufficiently, he gave Parker a hand up, and
switched places with him.

"You don't have to do this if you don't want to," Parker said, hoping Adam
WOULD want to.

He did, and was soon on the receiving end of a high-protein shake.

He stood again, and they clung together, kissing deeply for a few minutes
before continuing to get clean.

"Wow!" Adam exclaimed. "I've seen stuff like this on the `net, but I never
thought it could be as great as the actors made it look. It's even better!
Now, I feel like we're completely connected."

"We are, but I believe we were already coupled emotionally before we shared
our cum."

"I agree; so are you feeling `chipper' this morning?" Adam smirked,
wondering if Parker would pick up on his attempted pun.

"Argh! Has Grandma been sharing family secrets?"

"Maybe. I think `Chip' is a cute nickname. May I use it, in private at
least?"

"Do you honestly believe I could deny you anything? I'd have told you
eventually. Before our stay is over, there won't be anything you don't
know about me. I still have one more thing to get off my chest, but I want
to wait until my appointment with Dr. Schmidt so I don't have to go through
it twice."

"I hope I'm as transparent with you. I can't think of anything I've held
back. If there is anything, I'm not hiding it on purpose."

"That's okay, you don't have to tell me about guys you've jacked off with."

"I can't tell you, because there aren't any. Don't you hate getting
someone so naïve?"

"No, I love having a sweet young thing to corrupt," Parker grinned. "I've
already told you about my sexual history. I'm not proud of it."

"You don't have any reason to be ashamed of it either," Adam insisted.
"You didn't violate a young woman, she violated you."

"I should have put up more of a fight; I knew it wasn't right."

"At 14, and horny, I'm not sure any kid could," Adam assured him.

"By the way, what was it you were going to ask me last night? After you
agreed to be my boyfriend, I kinda forgot about anything else."

"Uh, I was gonna confess that I cared about you. Um, Darrin thought you
might be waiting for me to make the first move, after I told him you were
always a perfect gentleman."

"So, you talked to him about us?"

"Not intentionally. It came up after I'd rejected Dave's advances; when I
said that I wanted something lasting. That's when Darrin brought up your
name."

"That's cool!"

----------

The guys followed the aroma of freshly brewed coffee into the breakfast
room where Ellie was headed with platters of eggs, bacon, and sausages.
She also had English muffins and a plate of grilled tomatoes.

"You look chipper this morning," she called to them.

"Okay, Grandma, Adam beat you to the pun already. How could you do that to
me?" he asked in mock indignation.

"I'm sorry, it just slipped."

"Ya, sure it did," he countered, not able to suppress the grin twitching
around his mouth.

"Do you have something to share this morning?" she asked her grandson,
pointedly. "You look especially happy."

"Sure! As of last night, we're officially boyfriends."

"That's great, isn't it, Edgar?"

"What's that, Dear?" he asked, entering the room.

"Chip and Adam are boyfriends."

"Given the tenor of his emails for the past couple of months, was there any
doubt?"

"Were my feelings that obvious?" Parker blushed.

"Yes!" his grandparents responded in chorus.

"Here I've been agonizing over how to tell him, and you, and it's all for
naught. Adam didn't hesitate to accept."

"Of course not," Edgar smiled. "Anyone fool could see you two were devoted
to each other – even an old fool like me! Ah, but today you're glowing
like a herd of fireflies."

"Grandpa, I don't think they come in herds; swarms maybe."

"Herds, swarms, whatever!" came his teasing reply.

----------

In the late afternoon, the kitchen took on the savory fragrance of prime
rib being slowly roasted in one of the ovens, mixed with the aroma of
holiday casserole favorites in another. It was enough to make the guys'
mouths water as they set the dining room table.

Edgar was busy too, organizing the portable bar in the family room for
anyone who wanted a drink before dinner. The only things remaining were
waiting for the food to finish cooking, and the company to arrive.

Sally and Ken Fischer, their daughter and son-in-law, were the first to get
there. Parker quickly introduced them to Adam.

"Aunt Sally and Uncle Ken, this is my housemate, Adam, from Iowa City."

Parker was the only one to see as Ellie cocked her left eyebrow in response
to the introduction.

"I'm getting `the look' from Grandma. Perhaps I should modify it a bit.
This is my housemate, and boyfriend."

"Congratulations, Chip! You're a lucky young man," Sally grinned.

"You sure are," Ken agreed.

"I'm not trying to hide you," Parker said to Adam. "It's so new, and I'm
not sure how everyone will react."

"You may want to go with your first version when my brother arrives. He's
so damned homophobic! Being totally honest was your father's mistake."

Ellie gave `the look' again, but this time it was directed at her daughter.

"Oops," Sally sighed. "I guess you didn't know, Parker, but I think you're
old enough, and obviously open-minded enough to share all the family
secrets."

"So, my dad was gay, and he didn't desert me on his own."

"True, and true," Sally nodded.

Adam, who was standing at his side, put his arm across Parker's back and
gave his other shoulder a squeeze. Parker leaned into him for support.

Parker had very little time to digest this news before his Uncle Ralph,
Aunt Jennifer, and Cousin Danny arrived at the door. He didn't introduce
Adam immediately because he was still reeling internally.

Danny came over to bump fists with them, and was soon talking animatedly.
Adam took to the vivacious boy right away because of how he distracted
Parker from his emotional turmoil.

"Come help me in the kitchen for a moment, Chip," Grandma requested.

----------

"I know what you're thinking, Dear. Please let me explain very quickly.
Your grandfather and I didn't exile Jonathan. HE chose to break ties with
the family, saying you'd be better off growing up without his presence. I,
in particular, tried to change his mind. I didn't want to keep you in the
dark, but I gave him my word that I would leave the decision to him."

"Thank God! I couldn't imagine you and Grandpa shunning Dad over his
orientation."

"No, we didn't. Ralph, however, is a different matter. It was a few
months before his marriage to Jennifer that he joined her outrageously
fundamentalist church. Your father and mother were both supposed to be in
the wedding party up until Ralph learned Jon was gay. He was a lot more
upset over it than your mother was."

"Now I suppose Ralph will go after me."

"It's a distinct possibility. I think he suspects you're gay, and that was
the reason he didn't invite you for Thanksgiving.

We'll try to steer clear of the subject so our dinner isn't spoiled, but
whatever Ralph may choose to do, you must know that Grandpa and I will
support you. You make up your mind how you want to handle it, but my
advice is not to take any shit off of Ralph!"

"Grandma, how you talk!"

"I'm sorry, but that's what he dishes out, and I, for one, am not playing
his game!"

"Do you know where my dad is?"

"Yes, he lives in the area. Do you want me to try to arrange a meeting?"

"It would be the best Christmas present I can think of!"

----------

When Ellie and Parker came into the dining room bearing various platters of
food, Sally and Jennifer jumped up to help. As they were completing the
task, Ralph sidled up to Parker.

"Who's the boy with you?"

"He's my housemate; sorry I didn't get the chance introduce him," Parker
said evenly.

"Yeah, I'll just bet. Don't you have a one-bedroom apartment? Do you
sleep together."

"We have twin beds, if it's any business of yours, which it isn't!"

"If nothing's going on between you, why are you so defensive?"

"Fuck off, my dear uncle," Parker whispered, with a cheeky grin on his
face."

Ralph looked like he was about to explode, but Ellie glared at him, shaking
her head.

Because Ellie had carefully arranged the seating to keep her son isolated
from Parker and Adam, dinner went off without any unpleasantness. She knew
the mood wasn't likely to hold, but she had done her best to make dinner a
civilized experience.

The only mumbling she heard from Ralph was his displeasure at allowing the
18-year-olds to have a glass of wine with dinner. He and his family
eschewed evil alcohol in any form. Danny wouldn't have turned down a
little sip had his father not been present.

----------

To Ellie's surprise and relief, the afternoon passed in "relative" calm
(pun intended). As soon as the table was cleared and food put away, the
adults drifted either toward the living room to visit, or family room to
watch TV. After they'd done their part to help, Parker and the other two
teens headed up to his room to play video games.

"I'm so glad we're here," Danny enthused. "I can't wait to be as old as
you guys are. You're really cool."

"It's nice of you to say so, but don't wish your life away. Enjoy the
in-between years you have." Parker advised, "they can be good ones."

"You're so lucky to have lived with our grandparents. You don't know what
it's like to be around my father all the time. He's still living in the
20th Century, maybe the 19th!"

"Trust me, I have some idea," Parker smiled sardonically.

"Yeah, what was he talking to you about before dinner?"

"He made innuendos about Adam and me, so I told him it was none of his
business. When he persisted, I quietly suggested that he fuck off."

"Jesus! You told him that? How come he didn't blow his top?"

"He would have, but Grandma put the evil eye on him. By the way, how come
you're swearing?"

"I do it to keep my sanity," Danny grinned.

"It's not a good habit to get into. Those words can slip out when you
don't want them to."

"Like saying `fuck off'?"

"No, that was done intentionally, for effect."

----------

Their video game "tournament" was interrupted by a Skype session initiated
by Parker's mother. Although he was happy to hear from her, he didn't
quite understand why she needed to be in Switzerland instead of Illinois,
especially for the holidays. That was family time! Having her there in
person would have meant a lot more to him than the $1,000 check she had
sent him, but he didn't let her insensitivity spoil his mood.

Danny continued to amuse himself with a single-player game while Parker
took the opportunity to introduce his mother, Joan, to Adam. She didn't
make any derogatory comments about their relationship. In fact, she
appeared to be very happy for both of them.

Parker wasn't surprised by her acceptance, and was quite pleased with how
it all proceeded. Now, he hoped his father would react the same way when
their meeting came off.

After he'd finished his more personal conversation with her, he carried his
laptop down to the living room to share her communication with the rest of
the family.

----------

The uneasy truce with Ralph didn't last until bedtime. When he found out
that the sleeping arrangements would place his impressionable young son in
a room with two older teens who were obviously sinful, he did blow a
gasket.

"Mother, what were you thinking putting Danny in with a pair of fags?!"

"I thought he'd be more comfortable being with other boys than sleeping in
the family room, or on a cot in the room with you and Jennifer. I also
thought I'd brought you up better than to use nasty, demeaning words."

"You brought us all up to be too tolerant of wickedness with your `live and
let live' attitude. Thanks to Jesus, I found a real religious home where
homosexuality isn't tolerated and encouraged!"

"You and that sanctimonious bunch of hypocrites belong together, but you
may NOT practice your hate in my house!"

"So, now I'm not welcome here, but those perverts are?"

"Take it any way you like. It's rather late, so I suggest you either tone
down the rhetoric or find a motel to stay in. I advise backing off
quietly, because there's likely to be no room in the inn tonight, given the
amount of holiday travelers. Maybe you could find a stable somewhere with
an oversized manger to sleep in."

"You're being sacrilegious, Mother! The point is that I don't want my son
hanging around with evil doers who will try to turn him gay!"

His sister, Sally, had come in to the kitchen in time to hear most of the
argument, and could no longer hold her tongue.

"That's absurd, Ralph! You can't turn anyone gay. People are either born
that way or they're not. When did you decide to be straight? Surely if
one's orientation is a matter of choice, you must have made a conscious
decision.

And speaking of decisions, I think you should let Danny choose where he
wants to sleep. He's old enough to know the facts of life, despite your
efforts to keep him in the dark."

"Danny, come in here and tell Grandma that you don't want to sleep in the
same room with homos." Ralph called to his son who was in the family room.

"Are you talking about my cousin and his friend?"

"Of course! Who else in this house would it apply to?"

"So, you want me to lie? Lying is a sin, you know!"

"Of course I don't want you to lie. Just tell her."

"Okay, Grandma, I'm really glad you're letting me stay with the other guys.
They've both been great to me!"

"Daniel, go to your room!"

"With pleasure," he snickered.

"No, wait!"

"Let him go, Ralph. If you don't let him make some of his own choices,
he'll rebel in a big way," Ellie insisted.

"You're wrong, Mother; I'm not done with this."

"You are as long as you're under my roof!" she stated, adamantly.

Knowing his mother was a woman of her word, Ralph caved rather than to pack
up and try to find accommodations late on Christmas night.

----------

"You guys missed a big scene," Danny chuckled as he joined Parker and Adam.

"So, what's going down?" Parker wanted to know.

"My dear old dad was spouting his hatred against gays, and Grandma let him
have it. He doesn't want me sleeping with you."

"Um, we weren't exactly going to sleep WITH you," Parker corrected.

"I know that, but he's still sure you have an agenda to turn the rest of
the world gay."

"Humph!" Parker snorted. "That bullshit about a gay agenda is wearing
pretty thin."

"I agree; nobody my age believes a word of it. Hey, maybe we SHOULD all
sleep together. I could be the piece of chicken in a man-sandwich!"

"Do you know what you're implying?"

"Yup, I'm not a stupid little kid. I've learned a lot on the Internet."

"I didn't know the meaning of `chicken' until last year," Adam blushed. "I
finally figured it out when I strayed onto a site with pix of naked kids
younger than I was. I got out of there really fast!"

"I hope you both clear your history." Parker said. "I don't want either of
you getting into trouble."

"I'm always careful," Danny bragged.

"I kicked myself for not always clearing my history, until I got thrown
out. Part of being pitched from the nest was bad, but Parker's made me
feel happy that I was. My life is the best now!"

"So are you guys gonna do anything in bed tonight?" Danny asked,
hopefully.

"Yeah, we're planning to sleep," Parker grinned. "Much as your father
would like to think we're nothing but sex fiends, it just isn't like that.
We care for each other, but that doesn't mean we have to get our rocks off
together all the time."

"I don't think either of us would feel comfortable doing anything sexual
with an audience, anyway," Adam said.

"How about with another person participating instead of watching?" Danny
licked his lips.

"None of the above!" Parker groaned in frustration. "You are incorrigible!
Are you trying to get us in trouble, or are you really that horny, Dan?"

"I don't want to get anyone in trouble, and yes, I'm horny! Isn't that
normal for a teenager?"

"Yeah, I guess so," Parker sighed. "Now, can we end the discussion and get
some sleep, please?"

"Okay; I'm sorry."

Danny stopped talking, but he didn't go to sleep immediately. As his eyes
adjusted to the darkness, he could just make out that Adam was sleeping on
his side, and Parker was snuggled against his back with an arm across his
body. It looked pretty sexy to him. He slid the sheet and blanket down,
kicked off his boxers, and started to stroke his dick slowly, imagining
what the other two might be doing if he weren't there. Soon, he was
rewarded with a good-sized load of watery ejaculate which he managed to sop
up with his underwear. Ah, the joys of jerking while thinking about other
boys! Perhaps he was like Parker; maybe it was in his genes. This wasn't
the first time he had questioned his own sexuality, nor would it be the
last.
