Forward and Introduction

It's easy to forget that life...even time itself...is just a collection
of individual moments. Most of the time, people hardly notice the
passing of each one. They tend to notice only the bulk passage of
time...each moment hardly registering any change in and of itself.
Then one of those moments comes along that catch people's attention.
They serve as reminders to all that everything can change in a moment.

The wind was blowing hard, making everyone cover themselves as it
gusted. Adam was walking straight into the gales, doing his best not
to look into the bone-chilling wind. One step at a time, he trudged
forward...music was blaring in his ears as he tried to drown out the
howling sounds around him.

I see nothing in your eyes
And the more I see, the less I like
Is it over yet, in my head?

I know nothing of your kind
And I won't reveal your evil mind
Is it over yet? I can't win

So sacrifice yourself, and let me have what's left
I know that I can find, the fire in your eyes
I'm going all the way, get away...please

You take the breath right out of me
You left a hole where my heart should be
You've got to fight just to make it through
Cause I will be the death of you...
