Mr Right  Too Soon?

Chapter 5

Nick

Nick sat at dinner with his parents for the first time in weeks, and the
Reverend Stone looked at his son, wondering why he was being so distant.

 "You are being very quiet son" his dad said him. "Sorry Sir, it's just
school stuff" he said.  "Anything your Father or I can do to help?" his mom
asked. "No thank you mom, I will work it out" Nick said, knowing he wanted
to be with Leo; but knowing he would be cast out, as his father would put
it.

"How's Jennifer?" his mom asked.  "She's fine.  She's out with one of her
sorority sisters" Nick informed them.  "Nice sweet girl.  You could do
worse," his dad added.  "Yes Sir, I know.  She's great".  just not for me,
Nick thought to himself.

During the small talk, Nick's cell vibrated, indicating he had received a
text message.  "Nick, you know the rules about phones at the dinner table"
His dad scowled. "Yes sir, I know.  I am not answering it," Nick responded,
placing his cell back into his pocket and went back to the mundane small
talk while eating his meal.

Leo

Leo was sitting in the den with his parents watching the latest re-run of
jeopardy.  "Who was Jimmy Carter," his dad yelled out.  The contestant
answered, "Who was Ronald Reagan...Correct" the host responded.  "Damn" his
father moaned, and we just sniggered.  "Where is Jennifer" I asked.  "Out
with Nick, I think," his Mom answered.

Leo doubted that fact very much.

 "Nice Family the Stones...  The Reverend is a bit out there, if you know
what I mean," dad sniggered.  "What do you mean, dad?"  I asked.  "Well, I
don't agree with most of his views and opinions, that's all," he added.  I
wondered if that included the Rev's views on homosexuality, but didn't
push.  "Ohh" was all I said. He thought of Jen, and just knew she wasn't
with Nick; but I'll make sure.

Leo sent Nick a text, asking if Jen was with him, and if they could have a
chance to talk.  Leo had decided he wanted Nick.  Not because his sister's
indiscretions were thrown in his face; but because he was putting his heart
first. He also decided that if they were going to happen, it was not going
to be a dirty little secret...

...*...*...

Nick finished his small talk, said his farewell's to his parents, and left
his former family home.  Sitting in his car, he flipped open his cell, and
read the message from Leo.  "Jen?.......Can we talk?" he mumbled to
himself, and replied to the text.

*No Jen isn't with me, had meal with rents, and yeah talk.  When?*

Leo flipped open his phone when the alert for a message sounded, and read
the text.  "Fucking knew it" he said to himself.  "That Bitch, with fucking
Lewis no doubt.  Hope he gets the clap," he said to himself, and replied to
Nick's message.

*Dairy ten minutes*

*OK see u then* came the response,

Leo walked the half mile and waited for Nick to arrive, and right on time
Nick's car approached.  He pulled in next to the fence that Leo was propped
up against.  Nick thought to himself, "Perfection. Sheer, fucking
perfection".  Nick climbed out of his car, and Leo approached him with a
look of concern on his face.  "Leo, what's up?" Nick asked. "I want you.  I
know what I said before; but Fuck, Nick, I want you", Leo blurted out,.

  "Leo, I have wanted to hear you say that since...fuck...God knows
when...but I don't want to hurt you or your family" Nick said as Leo
approached.  "I want you" Leo repeated, as he slowly brought his lips, to
Nicks.  "Leo..." Nick moaned out between kisses.

"Leo...wait...please...just back off for a second".  The look of hurt in
Leo's eyes was evident. "Leo...why the change of heart...look I wanted
you...but you refused...because of Jen...even though I told you I had
stronger feelings for you...you ran" Nick said, now holding the back of
Leos' neck.  "So why...what's happened?" asked Nick.

"I want you," was all Leo would say.  "Isn't that enough?"  he added,
pulling Nick in for a kiss again.  "Leo, just stop and talk to me.  Look, I
want you as much as you want me; but obviously something has happened.  Is
your family alright?  You asked about Jen...is she ok?" Nick asked all
concerned,

"FUCK JEN!" Leo yelled out.  "Fuck her right off" Leo added.  "LEO!!!"
Nick yelled back, grabbing him.  Tears were falling down Leo's face.  "Talk
now, Leo, or so help me God!" Nick demanded,

***Silence***

 "I backed away from you despite how I felt.  I love you and I backed off;
because I couldn't hurt my sister.  But Fuck! ... Nick, she's cheating on
you, and with Fucking Jake Lewis off all people!" Leo spat out, with so
much disgust and distain for his sister, it almost made him vomit.

"Cheating?......... Jen?....... How do you know?" Nick asked, not really as
pissed as he should have been.  He now saw this as an opportunity to get
out, and with his dignity intact.  "I followed her.  When I was avoiding
you, I spotted her going toward the pavilion.  I followed her, and caught
her and Lewis.

 I confronted her later on, and Nick... Her personality changed right in
front of me" Leo said, looking for a reaction from him.  But Nick knew all
too well about Jen's personality changes.  An angel on the outside and a
Slut in the bedroom, so yeah, Nick knew...oh yeah Nick knew all too well.

Leo pulled out his cell and played the conversation in full.  The look of
shock on Nick's face was there for the world to see, and in the end, he
just shut his eyes and sighed.

"Nick, I am sorry" Leo whispered.

"Why?  I'm not.  Don't you see Leo?  This is my out," Nick said, pulling
Leo close. Leo held him tight and remembered that he wanted him. But it had
to be all or nothing.

 "No...I won't be your dirty little secret, Nick.  I want you, and I don't
want to hide" Leo said out loud.  "You mean you would tell your parents?"
asked Nick.  "I told you if it was worth it, I would," replied Leo.

"You think I'm worth all the trouble you might get?" asked Nick, looking at
the eyes of the person slowly enveloping his heart.  "I hope so... I think
so, yeah" Leo whispered out, and Nick smiled at him.

"Could you see yourself telling your Dad?" Leo asked. And Nick stopped and
thought for a minute and replied. "I'm on a full scholarship, so I don't
depend on him.  I do love my Mom and Dad, and if they don't accept me, it
would hurt; especially if I don't get to see my sister and brother.  But I
have to do what's right for me, don't I?" replied Nick.

 "So are we doing this?" Leo asked.  "I want to.  I need to be with you,
Leo," Nick replied, holding him tight.  "I mean, you are 20 and I am 21.
It's not like its' puppy love, so fuck...yeh" Nick added.

"So you love me?" asked Nick.  "You heard that, huh?" asked Leo.  "Yeah, it
sort of stuck in my mind when you said love" Nick added.  "Sorry...Hang on,
no I am not sorry.  Yeah, I think I do love you.  I have for a while.  It's
just I thought you were out of my league, and since you were dating my
sister, I thought you were straight" Leo softly said.

"Out of my league?  Are you kidding?  Don't you realise how hot you are?"
responded Nick.  " and for your information, I have been hot for you from
the moment I saw you.  I just thought I was phasing or something, but my
feelings for you ...well fuck Leo...I think I love you" Nick confessed.

He pulled him in for a passionate kiss, then informed him.  "I'm going back
to tell my Dad right now" Nick said with meaning.  He had decided enough
was enough. He realised that Leo was his present and future, so he kissed
Leo, and climbed back in his car.  "You want me to come with?" asked Leo.

 "No, I need to handle this alone, but thanks" Nick said, and drove off.

"NICK!!!" Leo yelled, trying to stop him, but just saw the car disappear
over the brow of the hill

"Shit, he could have dropped me off first," Leo thought to himself, as he
began the half mile walk back home.  He thought on how Jen was going to
take this.  She warned him not to cross her, but fuck, she deserved
everything she had coming to her.  Leo turned the corner, and Jennifer was
sitting on the step of the porch.

Nick drove back into his parents drive.  His Father came out to see who was
driving up to the door at 10pm at night.  "Nick, did you forget something?"
his dad asked.  "Dad I need to speak to you and Mom.  Are Danny and Mary in
bed yet?" Nick asked.  "No they are stopping at your aunts, now" His dad
informed him, and he thought that was good.  The yelling that was
inevitable would not disturb his siblings.

Nick walked back into the living room.  He knew what he had to say.  "Dad,
Mom, please sit.  What I am going to tell you is major, and I know you,
Sir" looking at his father, "you will not respond well", and his father
looked on.  "Oh please don't tell me...is Jennifer pregnant?", his dad
asked.

 "What? No!  No she isn't, and if she is, it's not mine" he added.  "She's
cheating on me" he said.  "Oh I am sorry son", his Dad stood to console his
son.  "No Dad, stop!  Listen, this is not what I have come to say", Nick
said a bit louder than intended.

"Sorry for raising my voice" Nick apologised.  "Mom, Dad, I have met
someone else, and I think I am in love" Nick informed his parents.  "It may
cause trouble, but I think it's worth what we have coming, especially if it
works out" Nick went on, looking at His father then his mother.

 "Who is she son?" his Mother asked, "Mom, its Leo Bo-Trent" he got out.
"Leona Bo-Trent, I didn't know Jennifer had a sister", His dad said.  "No
Dad, not Leona, Leo or Leopold" he got out, and now waited for the tirade
that was his father.  The Baptist in him would rise and smite him,

"But he's.... and you..... and he... but..." His dad struggled for words,
which for Nick was a first.  "You mean you are?" he couldn't say the word.
"Gay Dad...yeah", Nick said, still waiting for the tsunami to hit.

"You cannot be... you were brought up with values; not sins; not deviant
tendencies.  You cannot be...  It's not right; it's morally wrong... How
could you choose to be like that?  What's wrong with you?" His dad's tirade
was in full flow.  "Dad, I didn't choose to be gay, I just am", Nick spat
out.

"Are you sure though, Son?  Can't you speak to a doctor or someone?" his
mom asked.  "Mom please, not you as well?" Nick pleaded...  "you won't see
that faggot again, do you hear me boy?  I demand, in the Lord's name, you
do not continue in this lifestyle, do you hear me BOY?  Now go and pray to
the Lord God our Saviour, and pray your soul can be saved!" his Dad yelled
out.

 His Father dropped to his knees and began to pray.  Nick looked at his
parents.  Shocked.  Stunned, " Sir, I am no longer a BOY; and what ever
happened to unconditional love?" asked Nick.

"Honour thy Mother and thy Father" Yelled his Dad.  "Sir, that works both
ways", responded Nick, as he sat down on the sofa; his Mom weeping and his
Father praying.  "You will leave my home and you will not return until you
have been cleansed of all sin" his father demanded.  "Until then, BOY!, you
are no longer a part of this family" his Father spat out.  "Mom, please" he
looked on at his mother for some support.  "Nick, please return to us when
you have seen the truth and the light" she said, standing by his Dad,
weeping. "If I hear you have tried to make contact with, MY children, I
will inform the authorities you threatened this family.  Do you hear me,
BOY!" he yelled out, with Nick backing away.

 "Threatened?  When have I ever done that?" Nick asked.  "You do it now
with the moral bankruptcy of your soul, and deviant lifestyle.  You are not
poisoning this household" he yelled.  Now get out, and don't try to contact
us, until my demands are met" he yelled and Nick left the house, with tears
falling.  "Leo, I do hope you are worth this" he said to himself, pulling
out of his parents drive, not looking back.

...

Leo approached the porch, and his sister smirked.  "I warned you not to
cross me" she said, as he walked past her.  He wondered what she meant by
that.  "Leo, is that you" yelled his dad.  "Yeah dad, I'm going for a soda"
he replied.  "Ok, but we want to talk to you in the den as soon as you have
your drink" his father said back to him.  "I warned you not to cross me",
he remembered his sister saying.  What the fuck has she set me up for, he
thought to himself.

He walked into the den, and he spotted Jake, sitting opposite his father.
"Leo, I take it you know who this young man is" His dad asked, as his
mother looked on.

 "Yeah, I know who he is, but why is he here?" Leo asked.

 "Leo, don't be mad, but what you asked me today, I couldn't let it slide
man.  You need help, so I came to see your folks" Jake informed.  "What?
What are you talking about?" I asked looking on.

 "Leo, Jake told us what you asked him to do" Mom said.  "Look son, if you
are gay, we still love you; but you cannot ask people for this sort of
relief" dad went on.  "What the hell are you talking about? This guy right
here is a bully.  He has been a pain in my ass since freshman year in high
school, so why would I be asking him for anything?  And gay?  Where did
that come from?" I yelled out.

 It's so obvious my sister was behind this.  "Told you he wouldn't fess up
didn't I" Jake said, with a forced sigh.  "You asked me to fuck you dude.
Don't fucking lie.  Fess up" Jake spat out.  "Young man, refrain from that
language in this house, do you hear me?" dad yelled at the lying bastard.

 "I asked you what?  No I fucking did not" I yelled back.  Jen, standing in
the doorway, smirking.  "And here is shocker for you all.  I will confess,
yeah, I am gay!  But this shit is a lie" I said, pointing over at the lying
asshole.  "And Dad, I can bet my life Jennifer is behind it" I screamed
out, and realised I had just outed myself; to my parents as well as Jake
fucking Lewis, who now had a smile on his face.  This drama was better than
any TV producer could come up with.

"Dad, are you going to let him talk about me like that" Jen began to play
the angel card, pretended to cry; as Dad comforted her and my stomach
lurched.  "Why is he saying these things.  Leo, I love you.  Why would you
say these things about me?" her performance continued.  "Coz you are the
one being fucked by this douche" pointing at the asshole sitting across
from dad. "Leo, stop it.  Stop it right now" Mom yelled while dad seethed.
"Look, Leo, your mother and I have long suspected that you may be gay, so
that announcement wasn't really a shock.  But propositioning someone for
sex; that did shock us.  You were not brought up that way" Dad said.

"Dad I am telling you the truth.  She is having sex with Jake... believe
me" I yelled.  I caught her kissing him" and Jen began to scream in tears.
"I love Nick.  How can you lie about something like that?  How could you?"
she yelled.  "Calm down, both of you" Mom insisted.  "Leo, you owe both
here an apology" Dad demanded, his anger growing more evident.

And Leo wondered to himself if Nick's night was going any better than his.
