Chapter 2: Please Let Me Love You One More Time

1998 summer, Edmonton
---------------------

	My dad was busy with his business and had to move back to Hong Kong
but I stayed here in Edmonton to finish my studies. University of Alberta is
not that prestigious a university but my results are not good enough for
U of BC or U of Toronto, so I ended up here.  I wanted to be a designer so I
chose to study in the Faculty of Design. I really loved the VCD class
because
I loved taking pictures and ended up learning lots of things. However, I
hated the Art History class but I didn't have a choice if I wanted to be a
designer as it was a compulsory course.

	One day after the morning classes, I was eating my lunch with my best
friends, Amy and Joe. I met them in High School. Amy is majoring in design
and
Joe is majoring in computer science.  They are the best couple I've ever
seen.

	"Tin, do you have time today?" Amy asked.

	"Yep," I said.

	"Good. Joe and I want to go to the movies and my parents have to work
tonight, so can you take care of my little bro?" she asked.

	"Huh? Again?"

	"Please! Please! Please!"

	I sighed, "Well, looks like I don't have any choice."

	"Tin, you are the best," she said.

	After the lunch, as Amy was going to the washroom and Joe pulled me
aside and said, "Tin, I wanted to talk to you. Alone."

	"For what?" I asked.

	"Hmm...well..."

	"What, Joe? You know you can ask me anything."

	"I know you are not happy with this idea but Amy wants to introduce
someone to you."

	"Joe, you know that I am not interested in any relationship right
now. I want to concentrate on my studies."  Amy had been trying to fix me
up with someone ever since I came out.

	"But she says you look so lonely and, you know her well, she loves
to do that kind of jobs."

	"Joe, please, you know I am not interested."

	"Tin, if you refuse, she will not happy and you know that I will be
in trouble.  And if I am in trouble...."

	"That means I will have troubles too," I said with a sigh.

	"Yeah."

	"Ok, who's she gonna want me to know this time?"

	"Her cousin. He went to the army the previous years so I've never
met him before," Joe said.

	"When will I need to meet him?"

	"Tonight. He is staying in Amy's home right now. She wants to give
you a surprise but I know you don't like surprises so I'm giving you some
time to prepare yourself."

	"Joe, you are a good friend."

	He smiled and we saw Amy walking back towards us.

	"What are you guys talking about?"

	"Nothing," both of us said at the same time.

	Amy stared at us and tried to force Joe to tell her. They looked
so good together, sometimes I felt lonely when I looked at them. I was half
tempted to find someone my own but I was still haunted by the memory of that
that kiss, my first kiss, the kiss that Ed gave me. I was so silly. Was I
waiting for him? Or was I only dreaming? Many people had asked me out over
the years and I'd many offers to be boyfriends but I refused every time
because my heart always had a place for Ed.

	It was a strange feeling, just a kiss but one that I would never
forget. Is this love? I remembered when I was little my mom used to say that
a kiss is a moment when two souls entwine together. Does that mean that
Ed...
stole my soul?

	"Hey Tin, are you ok?"

	"Yeah, I am fine. I was only dreaming."

	"The lecture is finished, we can go home now," Amy said.

	Our last class was Art History. We left the lecture hall together
and there was Joe waiting outside. I said goodbye to them as they went
off together to the movies, and proceeded to pick up Amy's brother, Jared,
from his school.

	"Hi, Jared."

	"Hello, Tin. Why are you here to pick me up today?"

	"Amy went to see a movie with Joe so I need to babysit you today."

	"Hey, I am not a baby anymore. I am a big boy now."

	"Yeah yeah yeah, whatever," I said.

	I drove us to Amy's and used the key she gave me to open the door.
When I opened the door, I could see a half-naked man sitting on the sofa
watching TV. My eyes almost popped out at that moment. His body was so
beautiful, and he'd only a towel around his waist. His hair was short and
he...looked so familiar.

	As our eyes met and recognition hit us, both of us almost yelled
at the same time.

	"Ah! Tin?" he yelled.

	"Ah! Andrew?" I yelled.
