A Life So Changed 03

"Here's your clothes, Kev." Jared said, handing me my shirt and pants
from the very early Saturday morning I was admitted to the hospital. This
morning I am feeling rather sore. Doctor Ron said it was just because I
hadn't moved in the past several days. I woke up to my wonderful
boyfriend who was holding breakfast. I felt so spoiled.

"Jared^Åum^Åcan you help me get dressed?" I asked him shyly. Jared
hasn't ever seen my body with the exception when Ron was giving me a
quick exam. But seeing me healed? No.

"Sure, let me just shut the door." he said happily. I tried sitting up,
but instead I yelped as pain swept through my body. "Babe no, let me
help you." Jared said very kindly, not pitifully. He put an arm behind
my neck and the other under my legs. Without hesitation he sat me up
while pulling my legs, gently, towards him. It hurt like Hell to sit up,
but it had to be done.

"I get meds right? I can't take this pain all the time." I whined.
Tears built up in my eyes as the pain eventually began to grow worse in
mere seconds.

"Yes, Doctor Ron should be back soon with your meds. Now, can you take
your gown off or do you need help?" Jared asked so tenderly.

"Can you?"

"Of course,"

He gently slid the gown up and over my head. I helped by at least trying
to kind of pick myself up, but that failed immediately. Jared told me
just to relax and that he'd take care of me. As soon as my robe was off
he stood in front me staring at my body. I felt a bit uncomfortable by
this, but by the way he was looking made me feel a little bit more
important to him. He finally pulled himself together with me smiling
wickedly at him. Carefully sliding my shirt over my head he helped with
the worst part: my tight pants. Surprisingly it didn't hurt as much as I
thought it would. Jared was very gentle. I decided against my shoes so I
wouldn't have to suffer through more pain.

"Were my clothes washed?" I blurted out, smelling the cleanliness. I
was so worried all that money got washed. It was all still in my pants
from Saturday night.

"Just your shirt," he said, holding my hand. "Are you all right?"

"Yeah I'm fine," I said, trying my best not to smile to suspiciously.

"Well, Doctor Ron told me to check out at the nurse's station and then
he'd meet us there if he wasn't back by ten." Jared flashed me a warm
smile before helping me stand up. After being in a bed for a few days you
kind of don't do things right. Walking proved to be more difficult than
I thought. With Jared helping me we walked to the nurse's station,
signed out, and then waited for Doctor Ron. Luckily he didn't take but a
few minutes.

"Hey guys," Ron said joyfully.

"Hi Ron," Jared said for me. "He's in pain right now."

"Seems normal, but it's not to bad is it?" Ron asked me with a look of
concern on his face.

"It's strong, but I can handle it for a little bit.'

"Well here's your medication. Now Jared I need you to listen in on this
too. You are allowed to take one of these pills when you start feeing
pain, however, do not exceed six pills in a day, otherwise I'll be
seeing you again." he explained casually. "You seriously need to take
it easy for the next few days to let you body adjust and heal more. At
least twice a day you need to take a walk. And when I say take a walk I
don't mean in each others' mouths okay?" Jared and I both blushed
furiously, but nodded our heads. Ron handed me the medicine and gave me a
quick, but gentle hug. Jared said his goodbyes then we were riding the
elevator to the lobby where he would retrieve his jeep from the parking
lot.

Jared drove nearly right up to the door just so I wouldn't have to walk
fifteen feet. What a guy, huh? His jeep was nice. It was red and had a
block top. He'd bought it brand new himself which completely blew me
away. Even insurance he pays for. And he really loves that jeep, but not
half as much as he loves me.

"Mmm, is it warm?" I asked, shivering like I had no clothes on.

"You bet," he said helping me in the passenger side. Indeed, it was
warm inside and it felt incredibly great.

"Jared," I groaned as we drove off, "I'm starving."

"Babe you just had donuts like seven donuts!" Jared laughed.

"That was like an hour ago," I argued.

"You are so cute when you're cute." Jared said lovingly.

"Did you just say `cute when you're cute'?"

"Oh, I guess I did." he laughed. I couldn't help myself, I had to
laugh. What he said was so cute.

"Babe that was adorable,"

"Well I meant you're cute when you're starving. But we will go and get
you something to eat." Jared giggled, eventually calming down.

"Thanks babe, I love you so much."

Throughout the drive home, which wasn't very long, I stared at Jared
shifting. Him moving the gear stick was turning me on for some reason. I
was just mesmerized by the sudden shifting that was making the vehicle
move. You were in control of the gears, the speed. The-

"You know, I could teach you how to drive a stick." Jared suddenly
said, snapping me back into reality. Specifically, I looked back up at
him.

"Nah, I'd screw something up." I replied sadly.

"Kevin, it's nearly impossible to screw something up." Jared tried
reassuring me.

"Nope,"

"Well if you ever change your mind I'd love to teach you."

We stopped at a place that had the best burgers in the world. They may
not be quadruple stacked, but they were just as good. Of course, we went
through the drive-thru because the inside was way too crowded. The rest
of the drive home was completely silent, and awkward. Not a moment too
soon, we arrived at his house. Gus was waiting for us in the security
office.

"Hey Gus," Jared said.

"Afternoon Mr. Mayer," Gus said back. "Ah, Mr. Scavo, it's good to
see your back on your feet."

This surprised me. I didn't even think Gus like me very much. He always
kind of gave that hint that he didn't want me around, but maybe it was
just me.

"Thanks, Gus, it's good to be back." I said happily.

Gus opened the gate and Jared drove up the driveway. He helped me inside
before actually parking his jeep. He told me not to move around, but I
couldn't help it. I had to go in the kitchen and start eating some of my
fries. When Jared came in he seemed a bit concerned.

"I thought I told you not to move." he said.

"Well I was hungry," I laughed. "Besides, it didn't hurt that bad."

"Babe, please, I don't want you getting hurt." I looked into his eyes
and could tell he was getting serious. "I'm sorry, I just, I want to
help you Kevin."

"I know Jared," I started, "but I just feel so helpless and a
bother."

"But you're not a bother. I want to help you. I love you."

I didn't need to respond. I leaned into him and wrapped my arms around
his body. Jared suddenly began to calmly sob. The passion that I suddenly
felt was intense. My emotions couldn't take any more; my eyes began to
water. It suddenly dawned on me that there was food on the counter. But I
didn't care. I was being held by the one person that truly cared for me.
So, I decided to take our love somewhere my legs wouldn't feel like they
were about to buckle. The family room was right through the second
opening of the kitchen. Their couch seemed so perfect for this moment, I
had to take advantage.

Carefully we inched to the couch, not letting out of the embrace. It
seemed the perfect time to tell him some things. Things he hopefully
already knew.

"I love you, Jared."

"I love you too, Kevin."

A fire was lit in their luxurious fireplace. It warmed that room up
perfectly. Being in his arms in front of that fire felt so right. I never
want this to end.

There you have it, chapter three. I know this one was shorter, by a lot,
than the other. I guess when I wrote it I ran out of ideas. But chapter
four is longer, much longer. E-mail me with your comments, and join my
