CHAPTER 5

Rays of sunlight filtering through the trees danced in the window with a
brisk autumn breeze on Wednesday morning. I opened my eyes and then
immediately frowned remembering what had happened between Blake and me
Sunday night. I felt really bad and yet part of me really wanted to do it
again. Blake was so good at kissing and I'd never felt like that before.

I wanted to tell someone, but Nolan would never understand, and I couldn't
very well tell Logan. It was like I was all alone in this, and I couldn't
talk to anyone about it. I sighed and rolled out of bed. I climbed into the
shower and let boiling hot water wash over me so I could practice burning
in hell for the stuff I'd done.

I decided that I was never going to talk to Blake again unless absolutely
necessary. And I was going to keep Logan and me very professional. Lastly,
I was going to forget my feelings for Nolan entirely. This would be so easy
even a caveman could do it. Okay, so maybe it would be a little difficult,
but I wasn't about to be caught up in some strange love square.

I finally got dressed and was just finishing styling my hair, when I heard
the familiar honk of Logan's truck outside. I grabbed up my backpack and
said goodbye to my family then headed out.

"Wait!" Mom yelled from the porch as I was getting into the truck, "You
wont be home for dinner tonight, right?"

"Right, I'm going to Logan's for dinner," I said it like "duh, Mom. Don't
act like you didn't remember I was going to a witch ceremony".

"Have fun, be safe!" she called after me.

"Bye Mom, love you," I rolled my eyes because I knew what "be safe"
meant. She meant don't get into any Satanic rituals or do some sort of
blood magic on an unsuspecting chicken.

"Love you too, Sweetie!" I shut the door and put on my seat belt. Then I
leaned over and kissed Logan's cheek, "Good morning!"

"Good morning. So I have a question. Do you go to church with Blake?" he
asked while he drove.

"Why, what did you hear?" I asked frantically.

"Nothing? Was there something to hear?" he was getting suspicious.

"Oh... No... Ew, sorry I got all suspect on you."

"Yeah that was weird," he looked at me from the corner of his eyes as I
twiddled my thumbs.

"So? Are you gonna answer the question?" he asked again.

"Oh! Yes I do," I responded too quickly.

"Ha-ha, okay," we drove on in silence. It was really awkward. Why did I
have to be so weird right away?

"So I've been thinking about how to ask you to prom. I mean I know it's not
for a long while from now but I want to be ready," he said
matter-of-factly.

"Oh yeah, we are going to prom together," I heard the sound of
disappointment come from my mouth. I hadn't meant to it came out that way,
I was hoping he didn't notice.

"Have you forgotten our contract already?" Logan teased and poked me in the
ribs.

"Ha, no. I was thinking we should rewrite some of the rules."

"Like what?" he sounded worried.

"Never mind. I was just kidding," I gave him a reassuring smile and went
quiet again.

We got to school and before I knew it the day had ended and we were sitting
in the library going over French for the exam tomorrow.

"Il y a un livre sur la table," I said to Logan. He looked at me like he
could see the words.

"There is a... book on the table?"

"Oui! Yes! Good job!" I hugged him and kissed his cheek. He grabbed my chin
and pressed his lips to mine. He pulled back.

"What was that for?" I asked confused.

"I don't know..." his face got red, "It was from the heat of the moment. I
saw Nolan walking by and I just wanted to remind him that I was your
boyfriend. Whatever, it was just for keeping up our rep."

I eyed him suspiciously and then decided to forget about it, for both our
sakes. "You ready to go to your place to celebrate Mabon?"

"Yep, let's go." He packed up his books and we went out to his truck. The
drive to his place was silent and awkward. Was this the future of our fake
relationship? Silence and awkwardness? If so, I was gonna put the kabosh on
it much sooner than the contract said.

We pulled up to the house and I almost fainted. It was an old Victorian
house painted a beautiful butter yellow. Trellises and the fence
surrounding it were covered in bright autumn flowers. Ivy crept up from
the house's foundation. I was in love. I never would have expected Logan
Black to be living here.

"Ready to meet my mom?" he asked anxiously.

"Oui, sil vous plait," I responded.

"Yes please?"

"Correct!" I started to get out but Logan grabbed my arm.

"Hold on. Mom is secretly watching from the window. She'll be expecting me
to help you out of my truck. Let me open your door."

"By all means." I waited patiently as Logan got out and rounded the vehicle
to the side I was on. He pulled open the door and held out his hand.

"I guess chivalry isn't dead," I joked as I put my hand in his and he
gracefully assisted me in my descent to the ground. He held out his arm for
me. I linked mine into his and he escorted me up the adorable stone
path. His mother came out onto the porch.

"I hope my son is always a gentleman like this and this isn't merely a show
for his peeping mom!" she said as she embraced me, "My name is Charlotte,
Mon Cher, you must be Corrigan." She was wearing a floral maxi dress and a
lovely black shawl. Her long black hair was braided and intricately placed
around her head with pretty crystals and flowers.

I looked at Logan, "You're mother speaks French and you are still
struggling in class?"

His eyes darted from side to side and mine narrowed.

"We are French descent," Charlotte stated, "Logan has been speaking French
since he was a baby..." she seemed as confused as me. I crossed my arms and
raised an eyebrow.

"Care to explain?" I tapped my foot at him and waited.

"Okay, I pretended to not know French so you would hang out with me more."
I was so confused. Was this real or did he only do it so that our story
made sense. He speaks fluent French? Oh my goodness. He should get a Oscar
for his performance.

Charlotte began laughing and so did Logan.

"Come in, the ritual is about to begin, and then the rest of the coven will
be here in a bit for the Second Harvest Festival," we walked in and
Charlotte handed me a black cloak.

"What's this for?" I asked, surveying the robe.

"To protect you from any evil that might be attracted to the collection of
witches, and to honor Earth transitioning into her Crone aspect, of
course."

"Of course..." I smiled and put on the garment.

"I'm gonna go get mine, Maman," he winked at me as he said the French
equivalent to "mamma". I scowled as he raced up the steps to get his ritual
cloak. He came back down wearing a witch hat too. I burst out laughing when
I saw him.

"I'm sorry, it's just so funny to see you not looking so intimidating!" I
giggled again.

"You are such a tool, Igan." I was starting to not be so disgusted by that
nickname and I just brushed it off.

"I know, I'm sorry. I know this is serious for you. I won't laugh at how
adorable you look again," I apologized. Charlotte came in in full Wiccan
garb, including the hat and a broomstick.

"Come stir the cauldron with me, Darlings," she motioned us into the big,
beautiful kitchen.

"Your home is tres belle. Very beautiful."

"Merci, Corrigan. Would you mind tossing the fresh thyme into the pot?"

"Sure thing," I walked over and collected a sprig of the herb. I tossed it
in and stirred the cauldron, "This is so fun!"

Logan came up behind me and put his hands on mine, "stir this way, it will
conduct more magical energy," his voice was soft and warm, "here put in a
dash of milkweed."

"Yes, my little warlock," I taunted before grabbing the container it was
stored in. I pulled out a pinch and sprinkled it into the brew.

"Now we say the spell. But first I made a crown of flowers for you,
Corrigan," she handed me a lovely crown made from roses and lilacs and
mums. I placed it atop my head and looked over the paper with words
scrawled onto it.

"Mabon magic, Boil and brew. The crone returns, Her wisdom ensues. We
thank the spirits, And ask them to join. Our celebration, Of harvest and
joy. This our will, Harm be to none. So mote it be, The spell is done."

Charlotte took the parchment and lit it on fire. She tossed it into the
potion then started up a Stevie Nicks record. We all danced around the
kitchen until it was time to eat the magickal harvest meal; bread and some
chicken with tons of vegetables. It was exquisite.

The besom, or broomstick as I later learned, fell down across the room.

"Company's coming!" Charlotte smiled. No sooner had she said it that a
knock sounded on the front door, "Come now, the festival is beginning!" She
danced to the front of the house and there was a huge group of people. Men,
women, children, all dressed in black cloaks and varying hats. Some hats
were simple like Logan's and others were decked out in tulle and ribbons,
or flowers and lace.

"Stevie is playing! Time to dance under the moon. It's our last chance
before Fall!" a little old man said. We all made our way to the back yard
and people began shedding their clothes.

"What's going on?" I asked Logan, confused.

"The dance with nature. Its something we do on all the warm Sabbats. We
dance naked under the moon so that nothing can interfere with us and the
healing rays of her beautiful face," he replied.

"Nudity is totally optional, Cori. I for instance never get naked. I'm far
too modest," a hunched old woman said from behind me.

"How'd you know my name?"

"I know much about you, Cher. More than you think," she winked, "after the
dance come sit with me, I'd like to read for you."

"Read?" I looked at her quizzically.

"Tarot, Igan," Logan said before grabbing my hand, "Let's dance."

"Do we get naked?" I asked. Logan smiled and shed his cloak. He unbuttoned
his shirt and let it fall onto the grass. He kicked off his shoes and socks
and grabbed his belt buckle.

"I always do, but it's up to you." He said it like he was testing me. Like
he thought I wouldn't take off my clothing right here, right now and dance
under the moon in my skin sweater. He was calling me a guppy. No one calls
Corrigan Rose a guppy.

I quickly shed my clothes and at the same time Logan and I tore off our
bottoms, undies and all. We stood in front of each other naked as the day
we were born. Except, I still had on my flower crown and he, of course,
still had on his pointed hat.

And then we danced. Swaying wildly, arms in the air. It felt almost
tribal. A large bonfire was lit in the middle of the field behind their
house and we all danced around it. Warmth radiated from it and filled me
with renewed vigor. I felt so alive, like something beautiful and full of
light had possessed me. I grabbed Logan's arm and pulled him into me.

His warm, sweaty skin on mine felt so natural. I needed him. I needed to be
with him in that moment. I kissed him hard and he kissed me back. His lips
were gentle as always but there was something different about this kiss. It
felt hungry and full of passion.

"Follow me," he whispered. I did as I was told. At this point I would have
followed Logan over a cliff if that's where he led me. I just wanted
nothing more than to be with him, close to him.

Hidden by trees he kissed me again. The same hunger as before lurked behind
his lips. I felt his breath get shaky and his heart pounded as hard as mine
in his chest. My palms rubbed his chiseled abdomen while his hands found my
back and buttocks. He kneaded the fleshy mounds in his hands and then
dropped to his knees.

"What are you doing?"

"I'm going to make you feel great, Igan, just wait." He kissed my thighs
gently and then licked his way up to my pelvis. His hands continued to play
with my glutes while his mouth found its way to my penis. I gasped as his
thin lips enveloped my member. It was warm, and wet, and foreign to me.

I grew hard as he continued; soon he was bobbing up and down on all seven
inches of my manhood. I moaned quietly and pulled his hat off his head. My
fingers twisted though his gorgeous hair. He licked and sucked and kissed
my meat so delicately. It was the most wonderful thing I'd ever felt
before.

"I'm about to cum," I said to him. He continued his flawless
tongue-work. My eyes rolled back into my head as my testicles released. He
swallowed every last drop and then stood to kiss me. His tongue tasted
salty and sweet at the same time.

"Now it's your turn," I offered.

"You don't have to," he said quietly. That only made me want to do it
more. I fell to my knees and grabbed hold of his leaking nine incher. It
was so thick and warm. It pulsed with every beat of his heart. I kissed it
and he moaned.

"Be careful of teeth," he reminded me before I let my lips close around the
thick mushroom head. I engulfed what I could. It was so thick and hot. He
moaned and I looked up into his eyes. There was a
desire in the back of his eyes. I could sense it. He didn't just want this
as much as I did, he needed it.

My hands groped his muscled thighs and ass. He kept his eyes locked with
mine as he continued to moan. I felt his ass tense up and I quickened my
pace. A warm splash hit the back of my throat and I almost choked. I
swallowed quickly as the rest poured over my tongue.

"You could have at least warned me," I said as I stood up and wiped my
face.

"I'm sorry, Baby," he cupped my face and pulled my lips to his. It felt so
right. Like our lips were made for each other.

"We should get back before someone notices that we are gone," I
whispered. Logan grabbed my dick and ran his thumb over the slit. The
remains of my semen were leaking out. He licked his finger sensually.

"You're right."

I laughed at him and we quickly made our re-entrance to the dance just
before it finished.

"Gather round coven, dress in your Crone's Robes, put your hats back on,"
Charlotte called out. I went to find my robe but Logan grabbed my hand,
"Not us."

"Why not?" I began to feel vulnerable and I but my hands over my
privates. Logan grabbed my hands and held them tight.

"We are the newest couple of the Autumn Equinox in this coven. We are to be
blessed and bound to happiness," he explained.

"Tonight we bless my son and his new love, Corrigan. May you be happy and
prosperous in your relationship," Charlotte said as she placed a flower
chain around each of our necks. I felt like Logan and I were getting
married. The ceremony was so beautiful. Everyone took a paper lantern and
lit it before sending it high into the Autumn night.

"This is the part where we kiss," Logan whispered. He leaned in and our
lips met. I was like putty in his hands. His kiss was so warm and
enlightening. It felt so nice. He pulled back; his brown eyes sparkled.

We put our clothes back on and then Logan took me over to speak to the old
hunched woman. She was rocking in her chair on the porch, her shawl pulled
tight around her shoulders.

"I was wondering when you'd come to me," she had her eyes closed and I was
about to ask how she knew it was me when she said, "I'm psychic, mon cher,
that's how I knew." Her eyes flashed open and she gestured to the little
chair across from her. I sat and she looked at Logan, "Leave us, dear, this
is between Corrigan and me."

"Yes, ma'am," Logan nodded and left us alone.

"Shuffle the deck, Love," the woman demanded.

"What do I call you?" I asked as I shuffled the old cards before me.

"They call me Grand-mère," she stated. This must be a French Coven
because everyone seems to be sprinkling in at least a few French words here
and there.

"Yes well, Grand-mère, I've finished shuffling now what?"

"Cut the deck into three piles, please," she said waving a knobby hand at
the cards. I split them and then she turned over the top card on each
pile. The bottoms read Knight of Cups, Knight of Swords, and Knight of
Wands.

"Ah, there are three prominent men in your life. One comes from your
past. He is charming and strong and in tune with his emotion. He is kind
and gentle like the steady stream. His heart flows in a different direction
from yours." Nolan. It had to be Nolan. I stayed silent and waited for her
to continue, "The next man is in your present. He is tall, dark and
handsome. Sharp on the exterior, rough around the edges. He is swift and
sometimes cold like the breeze. He has walls that you must climb, mon
cher." Logan of course. He was warm and sweet one minute then cold and
distant the next. He was rough around the edges, but on the inside he was
kind and gentle.

"Last is the man in your future. Strong and outgoing. He is smooth and
fiery by nature. He is creative and makes you melt. Your knees go weak
when he touches you. He is seductive and intense. You will fall hard, but
be wary, he has the tendency to leave just as quickly as he enters." Could
that be Blake? Blake was outgoing and seductive...

"What do I do about it?"

"Let's see what each man holds under him," Grand-mère picked up each
card and laid it in front of it's perspective pile. She flipped the top
card again, "The two of cups. Love at first sight, unity, true friendship
connects you and the Knight of Cups."

"So he's the right one for me?"

"Not quite," she flipped the card from the Knight of Swords' pile, "The
Lovers. Love, passion, deep feelings."

"So it's him then?" I asked confused with the mixed signals I was getting
from this reading.

"Don't rush the cards, Corrigan," Grand-mère said as she flipped the
last card, "The World. Completion, destiny, fate."

"What does this mean?" I asked so frustrated with the riddles she was
speaking in.

"The answer lies within your heart, Corrigan. You know what to do."

Good God. What a mess. I thought Tarot was supposed to answer your
questions and make life easier, not complicate it further.

Later, when Logan drove me home, he parked outside my house and turned off
the truck. "So what did the Tarot say?" he asked anxiously.

"Nothing that made sense," yes, I was omitting things but I wasn't
necessarily lying, so don't give me that look.

"Oh," he put his hands back on the steering wheel.

"Yeah... Well I had fun tonight. Thanks for having me over for dinner."

"Let's not forget dessert," he turned to me and winked.

"You are such a dufus," I teased. I leaned in and kissed his cheek and got
out of the truck, "See you tomorrow?"

"Yep!"
