"That was a close one rite, Chris?" Josh asked.

"Yeah."

"Something wrong?  You don't seem to be yourself today."

"Nah.I'm fine, really."  I responded.

Josh had this look on his face that he knew I wasn't telling him
everything.  He shrugged his shoulders and we continued on with our day.
Our school wasn't that bad -its crowded and all- other than that, it is
filled with so many cuties.  But no one could compare to my greatest eye
candy, Eddie.  Oh, he looked so cute.  And the way he talked to people with
so much charm; it could make me stay in a dreamy daze for a long time to
come.

            "Chris.?" Josh asked, " We're going to the movies tonight.  You
coming rite?"

" Sure.  And you got the presents for Laura, rite?"  I forgot to mention
Josh had this crush on Laura.  Although, they've been friends for a while,
Josh never got the nerves to tell Laura that he liked her.  He dated with
so many girls, but none of them could have had a better connection than
Josh and Laura had together.  They are such a pair.  Sure, people had
suspected me and Laura dating.  But we just hang out a lot.  They don't
know the full extent of our 'Will and Grace' relationship.

            Josh blushed a bit when I mentioned Laura.  When people
mention, 'cute couples', I would always think about Josh and Laura.  They
WOULD make a cute couple.  Sigh.everybody is so lucky.  They could just go
and wing it.  You know what I mean, to give it a try.  But for me, I can't
do that.  It is such a big risk.  For a straight person it's just a girl
not LIKING you.

            But for a gay guys, you are losing so much more.  First, the
gay guy would get abused for the rest of his gay life.  Second, the cutie
doesn't like you.  This sucks, we get it twice as bad.

            After another fun day of school, we just met everybody at the
bus.  But someone new was joining us on the ride today, Eddie.  Why is he
here?  What I found out later was that Laura had invited Eddie to join us
to go to the movies.  I was excited, yet I felt my hopes and dreams
disappear.  Eddie was going out with Laura.  I just couldn't help, but feel
jealous.  She at least had a chance with Eddie.  Me, I am just here to
watch.  That's how it always work.  But I wasn't the only one who felt
tension.

            I could tell Josh didn't like Eddie going out with Laura.  He
had this pissed off look like he was about to punch him.  Knowing Josh
though, he wouldn't do anything; he really did like Laura and he would try
his best to respect her decision.  From there, we broke the tension with
Laura introducing Eddie to everybody.

            "Huh.this is Eddie.  We met at the beach last summer.  Eddie,
this is all my friends."  Laura introduced - she was a little loud about it
too.  Eddie smiled and shook everybody's hand.  Damn, his skin felt soo
good.  So strong, yet so soft.  When he shook my hand though, our eyes met
for a second.  It was a special moment for me, I thought.  It was that old
cliche where you felt like you known the person for your whole life.  This
was the first time it ever happened to me.

            I got scared and took back my hand.  Damn it my face was all
blushing now.  I think Eddie noticed it too.  Laura, cheery as usual jumped
on Eddie's lap.  I think she kinda missed and hit his balls; that's what I
thought from the expression on his face.  Brittany just arrived and was
excited we're going to the movies, including her.  " What movie we're
watching?"



"I think we should watch 'Old School.'  That movie looks soo funny."  I
suggested.

Cough cough, " I think this is MY birthday and I think the birthday girl
should get to choose."  Laura asked in a sarcastic manner.

 "Well, what movie you want to watch then?"

" 'Old School.'  She said with a funny look on her face.

We all had laughed and had a great time talking on the bus.  The bus was a
little cafe for us to chat.  But the scenery is much better.  The bus
goes by place to place dropping people off their homes and I take the
opportunity to look around the world through my window.  Eddie saw that I
wasn't talking to everybody and came up to my seat and plopped down next to
me.  The two seaters that we sat on was quite small and I could feel his
cute butt touching mine.

He looked so cute and preppy with the school uniforms that we wore from
school.  But we don't like wearing it properly.  Com'on it's 2003.  We
should enjoy our lives and not be restricted with preppy clothing.  But we
are, so to make the best out of the situation we wore the uniforms as
sloppy as possible.  Our shirts were untucked, the ties were no where near
our necks, and some even cut their shirts in half so they didn't have to
tuck it in their pants.  That's actually a good idea.  'Note to self: cut
shirt in half.'

"Hey.  Why aren't you talking with everybody else?"  Eddie asked

"Its nothing personal, but I talk to them all the time and sometimes I like
to think by myself."

"Oh, you need some space right now or something?"  He looked a little sad
from my comment.

"Nah, its ok.  I actually like to know more about you.

"Well, what would you like to know?"

"Huh, you."

"I'm nothing special; just a normal surfer dude."

"Then 'dude'- then there is something special about you."

"Surfing?  Nah I am not even good at it."

"Don't sell yourself short.  Everybody does that and you are actually a
cool person."

"Really?"

Was I hearing this right?  Eddie is so cool and he doesn't even know it?
So, I just placed my friendly arm over his shoulders and told him, "Since
you are such a cool guy and all.  I guess you should know more about me.

            "Ok, now this should be interesting."

            "Are you intending it isn't?"

Eddie rolled his eyes with a huge ass smile he couldn't hold.  I gave him
my best shocked look and punched him playfully in the arm.  Laura saw me
and Eddie talking.

            "So I guess you two are getting along pretty well, huh?"

            "Actually we're not, since I'm not interesting enough for Eddie
over here."  I said-not able to hold in my chuckle.  We both laughed and
Laura didn't seem to get the joke, but laughed anyway with a confused look.

            "Stupid Chinese boy." He said trying to fight back my last
comment.  (I'm Chinese by the way and I don't get offended by these things,
we always joke around about it. And in this place, race doesn't matter to
us at all)

            "Stupid SURFER. 'DUDE'.  I said barely able to talk right.

God I couldn't breath, you know sometimes when you laugh so hard you would
just take an extra long time to recover from it.  That's what me and Eddie
did.  We held our stomachs with red faces.  I turned to face him and he did
the same.  When our noses touched by accident I froze.  Suddenly our laughs
got more and more quit.  This was the first time I had the courage to
actually look at his face.  We were so close and I saw something in his
eyes.  It felt like I was staring down into his soul.  God, I never saw
anybody so beautiful.  Something was about to happen.  But before we could
even make a move, the bus stopped.  Josh waved at us from the other side,
"Yo Jason, lets go.  We're gonna be late for the movie."

            I sighed .the moment something special was about to happen, it
seems everything was against me.  Well, its not like we were about to kiss
or anything, right?  Its stupid, this thing is probably just all in my
imagination.  Yeah.nothing ever happens for me.  Nothing good or easy like
this.  It's all fake.  I am not going to make a fool out of myself.  Not
like last time.

            Laura jumped on Eddie's back and rode him like a pony.  Both of
them seemed so happy together; why ruin it?  Eddie playfully lifts up
Laura's skirt uniform, flashing everybody.  Laura playfully slaps Eddie on
the back.  Me, Josh, and Brittany looked at each other and shook our heads.

            "Can 'love' really make them act so childish?"  Brittany stated
scholarly.

"It's really embarrassing.  Everybody is looking at us funny like, 'do they
know those two'." I responded.

We laughed it off and separated those two before anything else happens.
Took us forever, but we finally got them in to watch the damn movie.



More to come.Eddie and Laura; how long can things last?.Chris doesn't seem
to understand, but he is falling for Eddie.  But could this be just another
crush go wrong like his last crush.
