Haiden Drake Age 16-Cameron's Twin. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- (Kaiden's POV) I've never flown first class, it was so weird. I was asked a million times if I needed anything and to make sure everything was satisfactory. I was so uncomfortable, I could never get used to it no matter what. I walk out of the terminal and I can feel the jetlag has already taken effect. I had totally forgot about the time change. I only have one bag, because that's all I could get from the old apartment when I was thrown out. So I don't need to wait for baggage. I make my way through LAX and find a buff guy holding a sign that says Kaiden Barnes. I walk up to him and he looks me over, "I'm Kaiden." I tell him. "Ah, okay do we need to grab your luggage?" I blush, "No I have all I need." He looks at me again, "Okay...I'm Nick by the way. I am his bodyguard." "He didn't have to send you. I am sorry that you had to waste your time on me." I tell him following him out into the garage. "You're not a waste of time, look I don't know how you and Grey know each other but you must mean something to him." He says looking over at me. I shrug, and we get to the black SUV and he takes my bag and the passenger door opens, and I feel my breath catch as Grey gets out of the SUV. He has gotten taller since I last saw him, he also looks more built not bulky but it works with his slim physique. His hair is messy as always and he gives me a brilliant smile. I blush and look down at my worn out shoes. "Hey." He says. "Hi." I tell him. He pulls me into a hug, and I feel myself melt against his warm chest. He smells like the ocean which I have no idea how but he also smells like his cologne that he always wore. I can't recall the name, I pull back. "Thank you for coming to get me, and the flight. I'll pay you back." He shrugs, "don't worry about it Kaid." He says. "Let's get you back into the car Grey last thing I need is a mob in the damn garage." Nick says. I slide into the leather back seat; the SUV is already cooled off. Grey taps me so I scoot over to make room for him. "You've gotten taller." Is what I say and I feel so stupid. He looks at me and laughs and it's not one of those fake ones, but a full hearty laugh. "Really you don't see me for a while and that's what you say?" I blush and avoid his eyes so I turn to look out the window. He grabs my hand and I turn to him almost in tears, "I'm sorry." "Kaiden, I was kidding. I wasn't trying to make fun of you. "He tells me sincerely. I nod my head yes, great I have been here for ten whole minutes and I feel so stupid. I hear my stomach grumble and I mentally curse myself, if I could disappear right now I would. "You hungry?" Grey asks. I shake my head and tell him no. My stomach has other plans its grumbles louder and I want to just die. "I think your stomach is disagreeing with you so much right now." He says smiling. "Okay maybe I am." I tell him. "Feel like Japanese food? I could totally do with some sushi!" He says getting animated. I smile because this is the Grey that I fell in love with so long ago, "Yeah that sounds really great." "Cool do you want sushi as well?" He asks. "Yeah I don't mind sushi at all." Truth be told anything he ate would be good with me, I am not a picky eater. He makes a call on his phone, and then he hangs up. "It will be waiting for us at the house." He says smiling. "Thanks again, I feel like that's all I am really going to say lately." This uncomfortable silence falls between us, and I just look down at my phone. It's almost dead, it's a crappy phone my actual good phone was broken in a fight with Jared. I catch Grey watching me with an unreadable look on his face. He looks away when I catch him. I let out a sigh and want to ask him about it, but I decide not to. "So last tour huh?" "Yeah, my last one." "Never thought I'd ever hear that." I tell him. "Hell I never thought I would know you!" He laughs, "Yeah we have come a long way from me asking you to get me some water huh?" I laugh with him, "I remember that day I wanted to shove your chair over." "You did?" He asks in shock. "Yeah I did! I was so shocked that you demanded that of me." "Well you wouldn't even look my way! I needed to get some reaction out of you!" "I needed a job, and Ms. Anna warned me not to mess around with you!" "Oh, Ms. Anna. I miss her a lot." Grey says. "Yeah she was one of the most amazing ladies I have ever met." "She made me put on my shirt around you!" He says laughing. "Yeah funny how after all this time, I still need a job and I'm employed once again by Mr. Grey Holden." I say laughing a little bit but it's a forced laugh. "Yeah....funny how fate keeps us so close together." (Grey's POV) He's so different than when we met. He looks like life has beaten him down so much. It makes me worry that the person I fell in love with is no longer there. "So I figured we could wait till tomorrow to go over and get all the contracts and everything signed." I tell him. "Yeah that's cool. Grey what exactly are the contracts, please don't lie to me I cannot afford to have a lawyer present and you know that." Kaiden says looking at me. "Kaid, you know I would never screw you out of anything. I have already looked it over and I had Dan and Tessa look it over as well. My father had it drawn up, it covers the confidentiality which you already know about, and it just goes on to say you cannot sell any information to the tabloids about my personal life, my brothers, or the Drake's. It also protects you by saying you agree to have Nick, who is driving us, to be your bodyguard as well." "I can't afford to pay him!" He says getting a bit loud. "Kaiden, I employ him. It states you need to have him present when you are not with me." "Oh, okay...sorry." We finally pull up to the gate of the house, and are let in. Nick pulls up to the door and I grab Kaiden's bag. "I can grab my bag." He says reaching for it. "Okay I was just trying to help." I say handing the bag over. I motion for him to follow me through the door, we enter the living room area and I see Kaiden look around, I know the house is a little much when you first get in. The windows are huge so you can see the beach at the back of the house, and among the furniture is a huge wrap around couch. With a nice huge flat screen TV mounted on the wall. The only problem is we are hardly ever home to watch it. "We can go to my room and put your stuff down." I tell him. He follows me up the stairs as we go all the way to the other side of the house and I open the door to a huge room with a California king size bed in the corner. I have a computer set up in the other corner on this huge corner desk that runs along a wall. I can edit songs and have a lot of room so I can do pretty much whatever I want; I have a flat screen TV mounted on the bedroom wall as well. "You can just set your bags down anywhere." The food is already on my desk and I pull up another chair and I grab my computer chair. "Want to eat?" I walk over to the mini fridge and grab a bottle of water, "Care for one?" "Yes please he says." Sitting down in the chair I pulled up. I sit next to him and pull out a box and hand it over to him he looks it over, "You remembered?" he asks looking back at me. "Of course I did, I know how much you hate sushi, I know you like tempura and chicken, I would never make you eat something that I know you hate!" "Thanks, that's probably the nicest thing someone has done for me in a while." He says and starts to dig in. I watch him as he eats I can tell he is starving. I start to eat my sushi, and I am happy even if Kaiden isn't the same as I remembered him. He pushes the box away, and I look over at him, "what happened to you?" I ask. "What do you mean?" "You're so different." I tell him. "I don't want to talk about this tonight Grey." Kaiden says looking at me. "Okay." I tell him with my hands up letting him know I won't ask about it again. "If you want a shower the bathroom is behind that door, it has a really nice shower and all." I tell him. "Thanks, I can't wait to shower. He says going over to his bag, and pulling out boxers and a shirt. "Do you need shorts?" I ask. "umm no it's ok." He says avoiding me. I watch him go into the bathroom, and I pick up my phone and text Cameron. "Hey I have someone staying over for a bit." "Yeah that's cool is it a boy?" I blush, "Yes, but it's not like that dude!" "Whatever you say!" he says sending a winky face. I came out to Cameron a while ago; he was cool with it, actually, he was way more cool than I thought he would have been. I didn't know he donated a ton to charity to help the LGBT youth. Hell he was more supportive of me than anyone I ever met. "Hey Grey." I hear Kaiden. I turn around and he has his head poking out the door. "Yeah?" "I need a towel..." he says. "Shit sorry, I never really keep towels in there. I'll grab one from the hall closet." I run outside of my room and grab a towel and bring it back. He still has his head poking out the door, I look past him because something caught my eye in the mirror. I see a huge fading bruise on his back. "Kaiden what happened to your back?" I ask. He gives me a scowl, "nothing can you hand me the towel." I shove the door causing him to move back, I know I am a lot stronger than Kaiden. "Kaiden what the Hell is going on?" I ask as I make my way into the bathroom. He moves back against the counter, and I can see why he didn't want me to look at him. He has bruises all over him, some are fading some look fresh and black and blue. I reach out to him and he flinches as I touch his chest. "Kaid what happened?" He starts to cry, and he slides down to the floor bringing his knees to his chest. He looks so vulnerable in nothing but his boxers. I slide down to the floor with him and pull him into me. He is stiff as a board when I do pull him into my embrace. "Please tell me what happened?" I feel the sobbing wrack his whole body. I don't say anything I just hold him until he feels more comfortable. "I told you I caught Jared cheating on me..." "Yeah you told me that." "The first time he ever hit me was when I wouldn't let go of the fact I wanted to go see you when you sent the passes. I wanted to see you so badly and he told me no, and I kept on egging him and he hit me. I was going to break up with him and he said he was sorry and that he was just jealous because I knew you and we were friends. He convinced me that I needed to move in with him and that if I loved him I would. He was so sweet and nice, he would take me on dates, and we would have a great time. He wanted us to have sex a lot, like every day, and I didn't want to. That's when it all changed. He got angrier with me, he would throw the dishes if I didn't have time to clean them because of homework or if I was at work. He would get so angry and yell at me when I didn't want to have sex because I was so tired or worn out from school. That's when he started to get violent. He made me drop out because if I couldn't take care of his needs then I didn't need an education. I tried to leave him once, and he beat the hell out of me. Told me Tyler would never want to help a charity case and that I was nothing but a bother to him. Tyler did get pissed off at me when I dropped out of school he didn't understand why I did it. When Jared wanted to have sex I was to give it to him, or suffer. When I caught him cheating I left the apartment. I came back and he was there lounging and I started to pack my stuff and that's when he attacked me again. He told me that I couldn't leave, and that I was pathetic and that I would never be wanted. Who would want a kid when his parents didn't even love him? Then he only gave me a bag with clothes he packed and threw me out of the apartment. Then later I went into work and was laid off." I just pull him back into my chest. "I am so sorry Kaiden, you know what Jared said was a lie right? Tyler would have helped you, fuck I would have helped you if I had known." He cries some more, then he pushes me away. "No Grey we can't do this. You can't be my knight in shining armor again." I look at him perplexed. "Kaiden and I know you are not wanting to jump into a relationship, but I love you. I have always loved you no matter what." I tell him. "No Grey you can't do this to me! Every time we do this you leave me and I don't know what's worse Jared beating me or you just leaving me. " "I never left you!" I say getting defensive. He pushes farther away from me, "When Ms. Anna died you shut me out completely. I wanted to be there for you and when you were kidnapped I tried to be in your life again and I told you I would come back the next day, and when I did you were gone! Grey I came here to be your employee that's it. I can't have a relationship with you ever again because each time I do you leave me heartbroken and hurt. I can't do that again, because when it comes down to it Grey you can't commit to me and when it gets serious or things get too real for you, you just run away!" I open my mouth to say something but I close it again. "I'm sorry." "I just want to shower and go to bed." He says defeated. "Okay, I will get the guest room set up for you."
