I'm so sorry about the long delay betweenchapters. The past two months have
been crazy for me between moving, starting anew job and the holidays I
haven't been able to put the time into the story.Now that I have gotten
into a routine, I am able to write again. Thechapters are going to be
longer from now on and I hope to have at least one aweek. I have big things

I don't know why, but I have a weird feeling about seeingher. After Zach
told me what happened at the store I don't want to be anywherenear her. She
gets out of her car and she is with a group of girls from thecheer team.

We go inside andI text Zach telling him where we are going to be when they
are done and to meetup with us. The reason we came to the mall is to get
things for our week longvacation to Miami to visit my grandparents and a
gift for my dad's 43rdbirthday this weekend. Mom gave me a list of things
that Liam needs and somemoney for dad's gift.


We go intoAmerican Eagle and I pick up some things for Zach. One thing I

"Your father called and he is going to be home at aroundseven. You two are
going to have dinner here tonight."

"What are we having?" Alyssa asks coming in the room.

"Your dad made spaghetti sauce and all I have to do ismake the pasta."

"Remember the last time you made pasta mommy?" Liam asks.

"What happened?" Zach asks.

"She left the room and forgot about it. When she cameback and all the water
was cooked out of it and the pasta was burnt to thebottom of the pot." I
say.

"Hey, in my defense, I had two sick kids to take careof." Mom says.

"Hey, don't blame it on me and Jen." Alyssa says.

"Don't worry, I'll help you mom." Liam says.

"Thanks honey, I'll get you when Ian is done."

"Come on Liam let's put your toys in your room and we canmake the cookie
dough I bought." Alyssa says.

Zach and I go down to my room, I go to the bathroom and Iput all of his
things in one bag and hand it to him. He looks in the bag andsmiles at me.


"I thought I said you don't have to get me anything." Hesays.

"I wasn't going to give you nothing after what you gotme." I say.

"You make me happy, that's all I need." He says.

"Sure." Zach stands and picks up with Liam.

Ned jumps off the bed and runs after them barking. I goclean up the glass
and milk on the floor. When I'm done I go outside and watchLiam and Zach
run around with the dogs. After an hour Ian comes and joins me.


"How long have you two been going out?" Ian asks.

"Three weeks." I answer.

"How did it happen?"

"Well, he needed help when he ran out of gas and I helpedhim. Later that
day we hung out and he said he had a crush on me."

"Is there something else on your mind?"

"His ex."

"What about him?"

"She is a real pain in the ass. You remember LisaSummers?"

His phone starts ringing and I snap out of it. He takesit out of his pocket
and looks at the screen.

"I'll be right back." He gets up and goes into the house.He comes out a
little while later and sits back down.

"Is everything ok?" I ask.

"I just landed a big job in back in Vegas this weekend."He says.

"That's great, man. What is it?"

  "It'sa music video and a photo shoot. The makeup artist bailed on them
and one ofthe models gave them my number."

   "Doyou need any help with the boys?" I ask.

At sixteen Ian got drunk and had sex with some girl andshe ended up getting

"I already have that covered. Brad is going to watchthem." He answers.

room and we decide to watch a movie. Zach puts on one of the movies I
gothim and lies down in the middle of the bed. I change into sweats and

"Daddy's home and dinner is almost ready."

"Where is Zach?"

We go upstairs and set the table. When everything isready and Marlon comes
home from work we all sit down at the table. We hear acar honking its
horn. We look out the window and see a flat bed truck with Redford Mustang
Convertible and a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon.


"Surprise!" Zach's dad says getting out of his car.

"Holy shit! You got me both?"

 "I saw how muchyou liked the Jeep and I had a Mustang when I was your age
so I got both."

"Dad their great but it's too much."

"Listen I had a great year at work and we can afford it.Trust me if we
couldn't it wouldn't happen."

"Ok." Zach goes to walk to the cars but his dad stopshim.

"Not so fast we eat first then you can check them out."

We all go inside and sit at the table. During dinnerRobert's cell phone
starts to ring and its Zach's mom, I can hear her yellingand screaming.  He
gets up and leaves theroom. I look over at Zach and the smile on his face
is gone. I am reallystarting to hate that woman. I put my hand on his thigh
and lean in and whisper in hisear.

"I can't wait to try out the back seat."


His face turns red and he smiles at me. Robert comes backafter a few
minutes and he looks a little upset.

His face turns bright red and he smiles at me. Robertcome back and sits
down.

"I talked to your uncle today and he asked if we wantedto go up to his
place and stay for a few days." Robert tells Zach.

"That would be cool. We could bring the dirt bikes andthe four wheelers."

"If we leave at around 1:00 we should beat the traffic."

"That's fine with me."

After dinner, Zach and Robert go home to pack for theirtrip. I watch some
tv with Liam until he has to go to bed. I take a shower andstart to read a
new book Zach got me. After a few chapters I turn out the lightand go to
sleep.
