Shane was the first to wake in the morning, he laid in bed just watching
Kolby sleep, and thought back to the terrible way that some people can take
advantage of someone else.  He was thinking that it is a shame how people
seem to shy away from people that seem to be different. Don't they now that
everyone is just looking for that special person that they can love and be
loved back. Sex is a really wonderful thing but sex is just sex if it is
performed without caring for the person. Shane was thinking how he had
spend many hours wondering if he would ever meet someone that he would be
able to love and get love in return. Then he met Kolby and he changed and
he came alive. He truly loved Kolby and he felt whole when he was with him.

Shane got out of bed and and was heading for the bathroom when he heard
Kolby stirring in bed, as he turned he was watching him and noticed that it
looked like he was having a bad dream. He walked back to the bed and sat
down and placed his hand on Kolby's chest and lightly rubbed and it seemed
to have a calming effect. He got up to go to the bathroom and Kolby sprung
up and yelled No. Shane ran back and sat down and took Kolby in his arms
and rocked back and forth and Kolby woke and put his head on Shane's
shoulder. Shane asked what this was all about.

Kolby said can I tell you later?

Shane smiled and said of course. If you are OK I will go cleanup and be
back in a couple minutes, He stood and headed for the bathroom. He quickly
cleanup and was back in about 10 minutes. He entered the room and started
to get dressed. Kolby was still in bed when he noticed that he was shaking,
he walked over and asked are you OK.

Kolby said I don't know I feel funny inside.

Shane put his hand on Kolby's arm and it felt quite warm, He said stay in
bed and I will be right back. He went to the backroom and came back with a
thermometer and asked Kolby to open his mouth and placed it under his
tongue, he waited several minutes and took it out and read read 102. Shane
asked Kolby if he felt sick Kolby said that he did but is was a really
weird feeling.

Shane reached over and patted Kolby on the stomach and Kolby screamed out
in pain. Shane jumped up and said stay there I will be right back. He ran
down stairs picked up the phone called mom and told what happened, he hung
up from her and called the fire department and made a report and was told
that they were on their way.  He ran back up stairs to find Kolby almost
freezing under the comforter.  He told Kolby that help was on the way and
to just relax. He heard the fire department coming down the street and ran
downstairs totally forgetting that he was in his underwear. He opened the
door and told them to got upstairs first door on the right.  Shane stayed
in the hall not wanting to be in the way. The paramedic said we will be
taking him to the hospital.  That they were quite sure that it was his
appendix. They brought him downstairs and out to the ambulance put him in
and they were off.

Mom had told shane that she would be home in about 30 minutes and she would
pick him up and then head to the hospital. Shane dressed made the bed and
was waiting for mom at the door, when she pulled up he ran out to the car
and they were off.

They arrived at the Hospital and went in to see where they had taken
Kolby. Mom had to fill out paperwork and Shane headed to ER to be with
Kolby. He was sitting there when a nurse came in and said that he would
have to leave the room and was not allowed there. Shane blew up at her and
the next thing you know Shane was being escorted out of the hospital by the
security guards. Mom went back and was sitting with Kolby and she was
wondering where Shane had gone. The nurse came in and mom asked about Shane
and the nurse told her what happened and that she had him escorted out of
the hospital. Mom then blew up and said you go get him and bring my son
back here now.

By the time Shane had gotten back to the room mom was by herself and Shane
had a very worried look on his face. Mom smiled and told him that they had
taken him up to surgery, and would remove his appendix, and that he should
be just fine. Shane let out a sigh of relief and sat down beside mom and
waited to see what room he would be in after surgery. Shane was upset that
he did not get a chance to see Kolby before they brought him upstairs.

Mom and Shane went up to the waiting room and waited for news about
Kolby. Shane was pacing back and forth and mom finally said please sit down
and relax you are making me very nervous. Shane said mom I can't stand not
knowing. Kolby needs me and I need him he is my best friend, my soul mate
and my boyfriend, he just has to be ok. I don't know what I would do
without him. Shane sat down and was sitting for about 10 minutes and then
was back pacing again. Mom said honey why don't we go get something to eat
and when we get back Kolby should be out of surgery and we can go see
him. Shane turned said very angrily said how can you think about eating
when he is in surgery don't you care what happens. He stopped and looked at
mom and fell to his knees and broke down. Mom went over and pulled him up
and said Shane please stop this you are going to make yourself sick.

Shane hugged her tightly and said mom I am so sorry I did not mean what I
said I am just going crazy not knowing what is happening, please forgive
me.

Mom said Shane there is nothing to forgive I understand what you are going
through, I know that you love him and I know that there is nothing you
would not do for him, you have to understand that things like this just
happen, I know you would like to protect him from everything, but that is
not possible. You have to be strong and trust that the good Lord will watch
over him. Now I was asking before and now I am telling you to come
downstairs with me and get something to eat before you passed out. They
went down to eat and Shane played with his food more than he ate it, mom
said lets go back upstairs and see what is going on.  They arrived back in
the waiting room and the nurse came in and said that he was out of surgery
and that everything went as planned and he should be in his room within the
hour.  He will be in room 1122. if you would like you can and wait in his
room.

Shane and mom went up and sat waiting for Kolby. They were talking and the
nurse came in and said that he would be here in about 10 minutes. They
brought him in and the nurses got every thing set up and then the doctor
came in and said that he was very lucky, the appendix burst sometime during
the night and there was a lot of infection there but, whoever call the fire
department could very well have saved his life.  Mom smiled at Shane and
said you see God was watching out for him, Shane smiled and said mom I
think it was Lyle, both Kolby and I have seen visions of him on several
occasions. I even talk to him one night and he told me that we were going
to be fine. Mom looked very surprised, Shane said I know it is hard to
believe but it is true. He even told kolby that I was having a portrait of
him made.

They sat there and just watch Kolby as he was sleeping. Shane said look
that, there is the person that I love and he looks like a sleeping angel.

About an hour had passed and kolby started to come around and Shane was
right there at his side. Shane took his hand and said Kolby are you in
there, Kolby smiled and said I am here, did you thing I was going
somewhere. Shane with tears in his eyes said I was really scared I was
going to lose you, Kolby said not to worry Lyle was helping me all the
time. Mom was sitting there and was dumbfounded by what she had
heard. Shane said I don't want to leave you here by yourself.

Kolby smiled and said I won't be by myself. Kolby said you should go home
and rest you have been wearing yourself out worrying about me and I can see
in your eyes that you are exhausted and need to sleep. You go home and
sleep, I will see you tomorrow even though I would love to have you here I
think it is better that you go home. Please do that for me.

Shane looked at him and said that was unfair because you know I would never
refuse you anything you asked of me. But I promise that I will be back
tomorrow at 8:00 AM shape.  I have to make sure that you are ready to go to
school next week. You would not want me to go alone would you, Kolby smiled
and said not a chance.

Mom and Shane were saying good-bye, mom said that she was going to the
nurses station and that Shane should meet her there when he was ready to
go. Mom left and Shane bent down and kissed Kolby on the lips and said I
love you so much and I do not want to leave.

Kolby said that if he did not go home and get some rest that he would never
speak to him again and then smiled. Please do this for me.

Shane said I will get you for this.

Kolby said I hope so.

Shane kissed him again and said I will see you in the morning. He looked up
and said Lyle take care of our little guy here, I am putting him in your
hands, he started to turn and he felt a warm touch on his cheek and he knew
that everything was going to be alright. He said goodnight Kolby, but he
was already sleeping.

Shane went home with mom and she dropped him off and she went back to
work. Shane busied himself cleaning the house and doing everything he could
think of to keep himself busy. He went up stairs and started rearranging
the the closet, he took all the socks and underwear out of the drawers and
refolded them and put them away. He went down stairs and started the
laundry and did the dishes, mopped the floor, mom came home and was
surprised that everything was done. She looked at Shane and said you are
going to make someone a wonderful wife some day. Shane smiled and said I
hope so.

Shane had pretty much wore himself out ant the hospital and finished doing
the job when he got home.  they ate dinner and they all went into the
family room and watched TV, about 9:30 mom said to dad look at our son over
there, he looked at Shane and he was sound asleep on the couch. Mom went
and woke him and said honey why don't you go to bed. Tomorrow is going to
be here before you know it and you are going to have another full day
tomorrow as well. Shane got up and headed upstairs. Mom and dad were going
to bed shortly and mom decided to look in on shane and saw that he just
fallen on top of the bed and went right back to sleep. She covered him and
smiled and said Lyle look after him, she turned and as she was about to
leave she felt the warm touch on her cheek and smiled and said thank you
sweetheart.

Shane slept very soundly all night and with the guidance of the special
angel he would be well rested in the morning and ready to take on a brand
new day.
