CHAPTER 5

Adam woke with Jesse's arm wrapped over his side.  His lover's hand lay
against the warmth of his chest.  He could hear Jesse's breathing, and it

disconnected.  He turned back to the window without looking at either of

"I don't know.  I just got my greatest wish and now I may lose it because

"You really think that Clay'll just let you go?  You know what happened

"Don't bother, I'm leaving."  Adam said.  he walked back the way he had
come and slid the glass door open.  He paused, turned around and walked
back.  "I don't know why you think you have to protect me.  It's not like
Clay is a murderer or something.  I can take care of myself."  He went back
to the door and went into the house closing the door behind him.

"I gotta go man."  Jesse stood, collected his clothes and headed toward the
house.

"Good luck."  Tommy called back. He slipped his body down into the pool and
began to swim to the other side.

Jesse stepped into the house and slid the door back closed.  He could see
Adam standing near the book case, leaning against the wall.  He couldn't
tell if his lover was crying but he suspected he was.

"Adam."  Jesse said.  He placed the bundle of clothes on the coffee table
and walked up to Adam.  "I'm sorry baby.  There are so many things I have

Tommy slid the glass door open and stepped into the house, closing the door
behind him.  He walked up to the couch and put a hand on each of his
friend's shoulders.

"I don't know what to say."  Adam said.  He looked up at Tommy and then at
Jesse.  "How am I suppose to feel?  Didn't either of you ever think about
my feelings?  Ever wonder how this would affect me if, and when I found
out?"

"If you guys are going to do this crazy shot then I'm in it with you.  We
may all regret this, hell, I already think I do."

Jesse reached out a free hand and so did Adam.  Tommy took each boy's hand
and smiled.

"This should be some adventure!"  Tommy said.

All three boys laughed.





"We talked about it more than a few times Adam."  Tommy said.  He moved
around the couch and sat in the corner of the big wood and glass coffee
table.

Jesse looked at Adam but didn't speak.  There were no words for what he
wanted to say, no way to explain his actions and it hurt that the one
person he loved and trusted more than anyone, didn't trust him any more.

"If you are going to get this guy busted I am going to help.  Either I do,
or I'm out of here and both of you can go to Hell."  Adam said.  His voice
was stone cold.

"Okay, baby, okay."  Jesse said and took Adam's hands in his.  "If we can
find a way to do this, you can help, but you are not going to be with Clay
or with anyone else but me, and not on film either.  No pictures and no
movies."

"Tommy, what do you say?"  Jesse asked.



Adam made his selections and went to a booth near the game room.

watching traffic out on the street in front of the strip mall.

"If you guys are going to do this crazy shot then I'm in it with you.  We
may all regret this, hell, I already think I do."

Jesse reached out a free hand and so did Adam.  Tommy took each boy's hand
and smiled.

"This should be some adventure!"  Tommy said.

All three boys laughed.
